We know we’re in the season of the Lord’s return.
The signs Jesus and the prophets told us to look for are emerging and converging in our day and time.
We also live in a season of rapid technological advancement.
In this article, we look at three technological trends and where they’re taking us. And unsurprisingly, given the times in which we live, they align perfectly with what the Bible already tells us is coming.
1) Global Empire is Coming
Already, drones dominate the battlefield in the Russia-Ukraine war. But we’re only in the early moments of drone and drone swarm development. In the future, A.I.-controlled drone swarms will be able to completely overwhelm conventional military weapons and personnel.
Nevertheless, mutual assured destruction (MAD) will remain in place as long as the major nuclear powers can maintain secrecy regarding the location of their nuclear-armed submarines.
However, once drones can be cost effectively manufactured and deployed at scale to track everything in the world’s oceans and waterways – at that point, MAD will come to an end. The development of molecular manufacturing will result in such an outcome.
As I noted in “The World is About to Change Forever”:
Within a few short years, the sophistication of A.I.-controlled drone swarms will far exceed anything we see today. Most conventional weapons will be powerless against them. But Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) will not be overturned until drone swarms can be quickly deployed at scale and at relatively low cost.
Once humanity achieves the breakthrough enabling this, it will radically alter the current world order. Such a breakthrough will result in several unavoidable consequences. One of those is the ability to conquer the globe.
In a post-MAD world, the nation with a first-mover technological advantage will face two options:
1) An unstable arms race ending in global annihilation, or
2) Global empire
Simple logic says they’ll choose global empire.
That should catch your attention, because the Bible tells us a global empire will devour the entire world during the Tribulation:
“Then he said to me, ‘This fourth beast is the fourth world power that will rule the earth. It will be different from all the others. It will devour the whole world, trampling and crushing everything in its path.’” Daniel 7:23 (NLT)
We also know the Antichrist will rule over the entire earth:
“And the beast was allowed to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And he was given authority to rule over every tribe and people and language and nation.” Revelation 13:7 (NLT)
And no one will be able to make war against him:
“They worshiped the dragon for giving the beast such power, and they also worshiped the beast. ‘Who is as great as the beast?’ they exclaimed. ‘Who is able to fight against him?’” Revelation 13:4 (NLT)
Right now, we’re on the cusp of developing weapons systems that make conquering the world and establishing a global empire not only possible, but necessary. Yet, most people remain completely unaware.
The arrival of molecular manufacturing, and the global empire which follows, is not an event many decades or centuries in the future. It’s an event which gets closer to reality with each passing day in a world of exponentially advancing technologies, such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing. And that shows us just how close we’re getting to the seven-year Tribulation.
2) Programmable, Digital Currency is Coming
Another technological development taking place right before our eyes is the emergence of programmable, digital currency. If issued by a central bank, this is called central bank digital currency (CBDC). CBDC is centralized, digital fiat currency. But unlike the government fiat currency of the past, it enables real-time government surveillance of every transaction. CBDC is also fully programmable.
This means central banks can manipulate it in real-time. They have the ability to raise and lower interest rates on your currency in real-time. They have the ability to put restrictions on your currency in real-time, such as where you can spend it and on what. In addition, with CBDC, the government has full insight into every financial transaction you make. And they also have full control over the currency itself, meaning they could cancel your ability to use it at any time.
Make no mistake, this is a system designed to trap and enslave the people within it. And while I believe the rapture of the church will take place before the mark of the beast system appears during the Tribulation, the infrastructure for such a system is under construction right now. That means, as Christians, we may experience some or all of the elements of this system before we depart this world, so make sure you’re prepared.
For example, the European Central Bank (ECB) is preparing to issue a digital euro, launching a new monetary system for Europe and the world. Back in March, ECB President Christine Largarde said:
“(The ECB is) focused on accelerating the pace and hopefully campaigning enough with all the stakeholders so that we can eventually, not put to bed, but put to reality this digital euro. The deadline for us is going to be October 2025 and we are getting ready for that deadline.”
Her remarks underscore the determination of the ECB to launch a digital euro as well as the sense of urgency many European leaders feel when it comes to launching a digital euro.
In the meantime, while the United States is not currently pursing a CBDC as a matter of official policy, the stablecoin ecosystem it’s working to develop is effectively no different. According to the White House, under the Genius Act:
“All stablecoin issuers must possess the technical capability to seize, freeze, or burn payment stablecoins when legally required and must comply with lawful orders to do so.”
The Book of Revelation describes an end times financial system with these exact same requirements and capabilities. It’s often referred to as “the mark of the beast system”:
The construction of a system identical to the mark of the beast system in both capability and function is underway right now. While CBDC is the most widely discussed, it’s a system primarily composed of three elements:
1) Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)
2) Tokenized Assets
3) Digital IDs
Prior to our generation, such a system of global control was impossible outside of the supernatural. Now, through advanced technology, it’s not only possible, we’re witnessing the active construction of such a system. It’s another sign of how close we are to the seven-year Tribulation.
