Russian troops entered after a lightning attack on the settlements of Pobieda and Novomikhaylofka south of Marinka in the direction of Ugledar. The Russians managed to block the movements of the Ukrainian Guard in Ugledar in no time.
The reality is harsh for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The loss of Marinka gave the Russian troops the opportunity to continue their attack in three directions at once.
- The first is towards Ugledar through the settlement of Pobieda
- The second direction is to the north, towards Krasnogorovka.
- The situation will worsen dramatically for the Ukrainian Army if the Russian forces continue the "momentum" and reach Kurakhovo.
Kurakhovo is a key settlement on the westernmost line of control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass.
This settlement is the most important logistical support hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donetsk. It is a very heavily fortified area, similar to Bahmut.
The Russian troops continued their advance and managed to enter the settlement of Pobieda.
The importance of this village is great due to the fact that it is located almost immediately at the exit from Marinka in the direction of Ugledar.
Taking into account the fact that Russian troops are conducting a successful offensive in the Novomikhailovka area as well, we conclude that there is a systematic advance towards Ugledar from the northeast.
At the same time, during the operation south of Marinka, Russian troops took control of several square kilometers of territory next to the village of Novomikhailovka.
The Novomikhailovsky garrison of Kiev tries to hold back the attack from the east and southeast. The fighting is taking place on the eastern outskirts of the village – on Lenin and Timiriazev Streets.
With this maneuver, Russian troops actually went around the line of defense, which Kiev had built, along a chain of lakes (the so-called headquarters), which actually runs along the Sukhie Yala riverbed.
Now, Russian artillery and tanks are pounding Ukrainian forces not only in Novomikhailovka itself, but also on the Ugledar-Marinka highway.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison in Ugledar itself is under heavy fire…
The developments on the Ukrainian front are stormy, both in the field of military operations and in the political field, with the confrontation between the Ukrainian leadership and the army taking on uncontrollable dimensions and bringing the end closer.
The Ukrainian president is desperate, as was evident in his appeal to EU leaders ahead of the summit, practically begging to open accession talks with Brussels.
Zelensky is in a phase of tough confrontation with the Ukrainian army, Belarusian President A. Lukashenko said at a meeting with the heads of the intelligence services of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Minsk, reports Sputnik.
"There is a very fierce conflict - almost deadly - going on between President Zelenskiy and the military," Lucaseno said.
“The position of the Ukrainian army is somewhat different, to put it mildly, from the views of politicians and Zelensky, said the Belarusian leader.
Zelensky fears for his life – Russia will negotiate with the military
The Ukrainian president understands this very well – and one can see his reaction from the changes taking place in his security, Lukashenko believes.
At the same time, "most military professionals" believe that the war should stop.
Therefore, the Russian side should first negotiate with the Ukrainian army, Lukashenko believes.
In the summer of 2022, A. Lukashenko also spoke about Zelensky's serious conflict with the military.
Ukrainian military officials realize they "cannot fight anymore", Lukashenko said.
In the fall of 2023, Ukrainian and Western media reported on the confrontation between Zelensky and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine V. Zaluzny.
It is recalled that the experienced American journalist-researcher Seymour Hersh has argued with an article that the Ukrainian commander-in-chief V. Zaluzny is secretly negotiating with his Russian counterpart V. Gerasimov, a cease-fire and a possible peace on Moscow's terms, having sidelined Zelensky.
According to Hersh, serious peace talks between Russia and Ukraine at the level of military leaders "have gained momentum while developments have overtaken the destructive foreign policy team of US President T .Biden".
