Caroline Glick's latest commentary is posted below in full. The sad part of this, is the fact that seems that with every twist and turn in the Middle Easy - whether discussing the Arab Spring. Egypt, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza etc., the U.S. will take positions which are opposed to Israel's best interests every single time.
Is this a coincidence?
According to the report, in accordance with the NGO Transparency Law which requires NGOs to report on donations received from foreign governments, three Israeli NGOs received funding from the US.
Keshev, a radical leftist "media watchdog" group run by some of Israel's most outspoken, and radical journalists and writers received NIS 492,452 in direct aid from the US government. To understand how subversive Keshev is, it suffices to note that they criticized the Israeli media for rushing to judgment about Fatah's unity deal with Hamas. That is, the group the US supports believes we should not criticize Fatah for joining forces with a genocidal jihadist movement committed to the obliteration of Israel that is in cahoots with the Iranians.
Through Catholic Relief Services, the US also gave NIS 220,304 to the anti-Israel pressure group B'Tselem. The money was used to fund B'Tselem's video project. B'tselem's video project involves the distribution of video cameras to Palestinians to film snuff films that portry Israelis as aggressive bullies who seek to harm the Palestinians for no reason.
Numerous examples have already been reported of how those film clips have falsely portrayed events.
Finally, the US government donated NIS 15,474 through the Foundation for Middle East Peace to the far left internet outlet Social TV. To a certain degree, Social TV can be -- and has been -- portrayed as the anti-Zionist answer to Latma, the Hebrew-language media criticism site that I run. But Latma is wholly funded by private contributors and foundations.
It would have never occurred to me to ask a foreign government to fund the project. It never would have occurred to me to ask a foreign government to get into the media watchdog game in Israel. But then, from reading the report it is clear that the aim of the US government is not, in fact to help Israeli media outlets do a better job reporting on events. Rather, the report indicates that the US government has decided to use radical Israeli NGOs to wage political warfare in Israel. The aim of this campaign is to convince the public that Israel is to blame for the absence of peace with our neighbors.
It is worth noting that through US Embassy cables published by Wikileaks we learned from B'Tselem's Executive Director Jessica Montell that B'Tselem is almost entirely dependent on foreign governmental assistance. She said that 95 percent of B'tselem's budget is paid for by foreign governments. Montell told her interlocutor at the Embassy that B'Tselem wished to engender an international climate of hostility towards Israel that would make Israeli leaders fear the international response to IDF operations against Palestinian terror campaign so much that they would fear taking action. The cable was written after Operation Cast Lead. B'Tselem was one of the Israeli NGOs that told the Goldstone Commission Israel had committed war crimes in Gaza.
According to the leaked cable:
She [Montell] wanted the highest level decision-makers held accountable for the decisions they made on how to prosecute the conflict, including, Military Advocate Gneral (MAG) [BG Avi] Mandelblit...Her aim she said, was to make Israel weigh world opinion and consider whether it could "afford another operation like this."
The Israeli media itself is already controlled in large part by the far Left. Channel 2 news and the station's flagship satire program "Eretz Nehederet" played a huge role in shaping public perceptions in the last elections. Both worked overtime trying to demonize Naftali Bennett and the Jewish Home Party. This they did after they worked overtime demonizing the winners of Likud's party primaries as right wing extremists. Muli Segev, Eretz Nehederet's editor in chief bragged in an interview in Haaretz that his show was directly responsible for the party's loss of several Knesset seats.
The media's overwhelming far left bias has been on shocking display this week with their wall-to-wall coverage of the story of the prison suicide of suspected traitor Benjamin Zygier. This man was apparently a double agent, a turncoat. He was imprisoned under a false name, as agreed to by him, his attorneys and his family. He killed himself. His body was sent to his family in Australia for burial. End of story.

I stumbled upon this blog a couple weeks ago while doing some research into world history, in particular the move towards one world religion. First I'd like to thank you for investing your time in this informative blog. I am a Canadian in Alberta so have a somewhat different perspective on some of the information presented here, but I also can see many similarities between Canada and American when it comes to political and social issues. Canada is I think considered more socially 'progressive' than America meaning we were quicker to acknowledge homosexuals for purposes of legal relationships, legalize abortions and create laws that make speaking out against people or religions base on your own beliefs a public offense. A person can sue for discrimination against a church or reverend who refuses to marry homosexual couples and our parole boards are releasing 'reformed' pedophiles into the community. Its a slippery slope and I believe we are just seeing the start of massive persecution in both our nations.
I find information on anti-Israel slanted politics and media to be particularly interesting since it is one area where, in Canada also, if a story about Israel is reported at all, it is consistently reported with Israel as the 'bad guy' so to speak. For example, when the news reported the Hamas rocket attacks against Israel, the story always started and ended focusing attention on the damage that Israel inflicted. There is absolutely no mention of IDF attempts to limit civilian casualties and never any mention of Hamas using human shields for protection. In the light of truth, Hamas looks like the guy who starts a fist fight, starts crying at the first sign of retaliation, then kicks the opponent after he turns away in disgust. However, from the media one is given the impression that Hamas is the innocent party fighting against a cruel and oppressive regime.
Something I found interesting reading the history of the state of Israel is the fact that it has survived at all. The Israeli war for independence was miraculous for Israel and devastating for the Arab nations in that there was no way one could have predicted Israel would survive. There have been incidents since where Israel has been outmanned and outgunned and yet, Israel stands. A logical person should question the intelligence of opposing or even threatening Israel, yet the terrorists and political powers persist. The reinstatement of Israel as a nation and the unwise decision making process of world leaders and other current events, to me, means God has set His plans into motion. Time is running short.
I'd also like to ask about something I've been investigating for a while, hoping for some more expert opinion. I was looking into the United Nations history when I came across an article on a man by the name of Robert Muller. He served in the UN for 40 years and as I understand it was a high level member of the UN beaurocracy, though I don't remember exactly what he did. I read through his philosophy and noticed a number of areas where his philosophy and current UN policy were very similar, so I tend to suspect he was a powerful influence in the UN. I also noticed that his beliefs involved something called theosophy, so I then decided to check that out which led me to the works of Alice Bailey, then to an organization known as Lucis Trust. There are claims that Lucis Trust is an NGO of the UN, so I looked on the UN website and sure enough, they are listed as an NGO in at least one pdf from their website. I've read some of the Lucis Trust 'manifesto' and its downright scary in how it manages to blend a bit of truth with a lot of lies to come up with a lure that almost makes sense. (It reminded me of satan tempting Jesus.) This all seems quite real to me, but I would like some wiser folks to chime in on this.
I cannot get it out of my mind, it
is DISTURBING to me that the reality is hitting very fast.
I am talking about the false prophet. also about the ligtning that hit that Vatican a few hours.
Add to that the fact that I continue to see car license plates
aroung where I am in Hawaii with
266 and 777. the 777 is of VERY
SERIOUS INTEREST.
I think it is a sign of the closeness of the rapture. It
is not like I am looking for these
car plates, they just happen to
come my way.
I used to think it might be quite
a while before Jesus returns. Now
i am NOT so sure. what mystifies
me beyond comprehension is that
THIS FALSE PROPHET is getting into
power in a few weeks with the dow
at almost 14,000 ??
Com on now, what gives here ??
Unless of course we go back to
the Olivet Discourse when Jesus
said it would be like the days of
Noah and Lot.
Then it all fits.
I want to ask people here a question. how MUCH do you still
feel as a part of this world ??
Are you getting more and more
impressions that FOR SOME REASON
you are being pulled away from this
world, getting detached from it ??
I am starting to feel that.
It scares me BUT I do not know
what to do. I accepted Jesus in
OCT 1977 and if I had NOT done
that I feel things would not matter
like they are now..I mean that more
and more I feel like a stranger here, like this is less and less
my home although I have been here
for almost 60 years.
I think he really is coming soon.
It is NOT a game not a joke anymore
as many still believe.
when I say soon, I mean weeks.
seriously.
I am VERY VERY concerned about
the future in this world once that
false prophet takes over.
I still believe the "beast" is the
UFM Secretariat, all ready to roll.
If so, that means this false prophet creep id ONE OF THE FINAL
pieces of the puzzle.
Sometimes I wish I did not know about all this, really....
but it's too late for that.
I have to say i get the creeps
when I see these prophecies getting
FUFILLED and i am witnessing it.
Any input is apreciated...
Stephen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Stephen,
Brother, I pray that Our Lord will keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him.
For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have opportunity to return. But as it is they desire a better country, that is a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them. (Hebrews 11:14-16) We as believers are NOT going to a better place, we are going to the BEST place. This is not home so loosen those tent pegs up and set your sights on the place that's the best, and better yet, in the presence of Perfect Love our Lord Jesus His kingdom is an eternal kingdom without fail. You Are Loved!!! John from Va.
Stephen, spend time reading some Psalms today. If you have time read Psalm 13 to 16.
Psalm 13: 3-6
"Look on me and answer, O Lord my God.Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death; my enemy will say "I have overcome him and my foes will rejoice when I fall. BUT I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me." (NIV)
The Psalms will give you peace in your heart and rest to your mind.
Be of good cheer for we soon will be glorified. Stephen, also remember that God is very merciful, He has given mankind chances and WE have failed Him, not the other way around...so this time will be God's judgment but also in His mercy many will find salvation.
Your are right in saying the time is VERY short, we are to look up in hope of our redemption...a beautiful promise.
Your sister in Christ,
Sandra
Stephen,
you are not alone. I also feel
more detached from this world every day that goes by. Everything seems strange, and nothing is making sense anymore. When I listen to the news, much of the time I have to shake my head and say "WHAT?"
John and Sandra gave comforting Bible verses, and here is another one.
Acts 2:25 "I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for He is right beside me." Keep in prayer continually.Talk to God all day and share with Him your fears. I saw a sign on a local church that summed it up nicely.
Thank God for all you have, trust Him for all your needs. God bless you Stephen.
Chris,
I have to admit, I didn't know about that, but clearly it is worth looking into. Thanks for the information - I'll look into this later today. God Bless
Scott
