'Egypt, Syria Are Falling Apart - An Israeli Nightmare Unfolds'

This comes from Debka, which has been very accurate and way ahead of the MSM recently:

Israeli Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel warned Tuesday, Jan. 29, that Syria is falling apart and no one knows what the next day may bring: “War may not break out tomorrow,” he said, “but we stand ready for any eventuality.”

If war is not expected tomorrow, why have Israel’s armed forces, including the air force, been on their highest level of preparedness since Friday, Jan. 25? The Syrian crisis may not technically fit the description of a state of war. However, the violent turbulence in that country may at any time spill over the border into hostilities in some shape or form.
The “no comment” stance on the Syrian civil war, long held by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak is untenable and pointless, especially after the latter cut short an overseas family trip to be flown home in a hurry Saturday.
No one believes the official explanation that the three Iron Dome anti-missile batteries stationed over the weekend in northern Israel - in the sight of many thousands of local dwellers - are there for a preplanned routine test - least of all after a senior Israeli officer told AFP that large Hizballah forces are parked at Bashar Assad’s chemical weapons stores poised ready to seize them.
If this happens, said the officer, “A decision to attack Syria or Lebanon will need to be implemented immediately.”

This is beginning to sound as though the politicians and the generals are not on speaking terms.
Gen. Eshel’s comment came hard upon the grave warning issued earlier Tuesday by Egypt's army chief Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, who is also the defense minister. “The political strife is pushing the state to the brink of collapse,” he said on the sixth day of turbulent protests across the country at the cost of more than 60 lives.
Gen. El-Sissi reacted to the chaos and lawlessness engulfing Egypt. The government headed by President Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood is no longer a functioning administration. They have been reduced to the single task of fighting to hang onto power.

None of the forces of law and order - the army, internal security, police - are willing to clash head-on with the opposition protesters rampaging on the streets of the main cities including Cairo.  Some towns have descended into chaos and some outlying areas in this country of 90 million are no longer receiving regular food and water supplies.
The Egyptian defense minister’s warning may be taken two ways:

1.  As a last warning to the Muslim Brotherhood and the opposition on the streets that this is the eleventh hour and if they don’t step back from their confrontation, the military will be forced to seize power to save the country.
2.  Alternatively, that the army will not interfere and will stand aside for now, while warning that a civil war in Egypt would be more extensive and calamitous than the vicious conflict bringing Syria to ruin in the last two years.

As the two countries teeter on the brink of catastrophe, Gen. Eshel’s dry forecast of doom correctly noted that no one knows what tomorrow will bring.
However, Israel is coming face to face with its worst fear: being hemmed in by a blazing ring of hopeless conflicts just across its borders: Syria and Lebanon in the north; Egypt in the west and south; and Jordan under threat.

Caroline Glick Discusses Anti-Semitism And Israeli Land

This is a video that is definitely worth watching. Below are some notes pertaining to this video and the first link (immediately below) includes her introductory remarks.

Video Of Intelligence Squared Debate In London

Since I came home from London, subsequent events have borne out my dim assessment of England, and done so at break-neck pace. As one of Britain's great righteous gentiles Douglas Murray wrote in an essay published yesterday by the Gatestone Institute, England is no longer even trying to hide its anti-Semitism. At this point, to live well in the kingdom, Jews are required to accept or at least express minimal objection to the dominant narrative that Israel is the current Nazi Germany.

Back in 2005, I felt it was a mistake for Israel to push for the UN to establish an international Holocaust remembrance day. What did we need it for?

The UN emerged at the 2001 Durban conference as the epicenter of global anti-Semitism. Why should we give it an out for its hostility towards live Jews by letting it pretend it isn't a anti-Semitic institution because it mourns dead Jews?

At any rate, it took no time at all for the UN and its member states to use the new International Holocaust Remembrance Day as a means of defaming Israel and so gunning for a new Holocaust of Jewry.

In England in the space of a week, a British parliament member from the Liberal-Democrat Pary named David Ward said that Israel is perpetrating a Holocaust on the Palestinians Arabs, and the Sunday Times published the above anti-Semitic, Nazi-styled cartoon. The cartoon came out on the ill-conceived International Holocaust Memorial Day.

So I am sad to say, I am right.

Trends: Paving The Road To The Tribulation

Every day in the news cycle, for whatever reason, one can quickly spot trends in the news and today is no exception. The stage is being set for worldwide totalitarianism and it is easy now to see how the antichrist can use all of the tools that are now available, in order to implement control over "every tribe, people, language and nation" (Rev. 13:7):

Money, after all, is backed by assets currently and thus to some degree a nation-state – and those who run it – need to be able to claim domination over their "resources." And these resources are people. One needs to prove clearly, for a variety of international purposes, then, that one has full control over one's citizens and their earning power.
This necessity in the modern fiat-money era would explain the growing determination of US officials and those from other countries to extend not only their justice system but their taxing (and banking) system worldwide.

And yet ... the idea strikes us as a kind of totalitarian one. Throughout human history people have left their homes to escape abusive and authoritarian governments. Only the modern era with its web of repatriation agreements and fledging global justice system has begun to create a countertrend.

Tyranny flourishes where there is no recourse. The idea being put forth is that "justice" is what governments say that it is and if a government proclaims someone a criminal there should be networks in place to ensure that person is returned.

This is part of a larger trend – dominant social theme – that law is not perceived as natural but as "official." The law is simply what the state says it is. It is the reason that the US can confidently dispatch FBI agents around the world to arrest Megaupload's Kim Dotcom on charges that are so flimsy they have all but fallen apart.

And that is just a single, tiny example of the larger trend that is establishing a supra-law enforcement network across the world. The FBI – supposedly a US domestic law enforcement agency – is now established in perhaps 100 countries or more and performing various intelligence gathering with or without the permission of the given country.
Now we read that China is setting up a similar network for criminal repatriation around the world. It really is a good deal like 1984 where the powers-that-be hope to be able to enforce any law or gather any tax – no matter how outrageous – by virtue of a global presence and interlocking treaties.

Black Hawks Used In Military Training Exercise In Miami

Some members of the U.S. military were busy in Miami Thursday night as they conducted exercises in Downtown Miami.
CBS4 captured video of Black Hawk helicopters flying over the city as part of a joint military training exercise.

The training is designed to ensure that military personnel are able to operate in urban areas and to focus on preparations for overseas deployment. It also serves as a mandatory training certification requirement.

Army Training Drill Scares Residents:  Exercise Takes Over On Houston's South Side

The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire created a lot of concern Monday afternoon in one Houston neighborhood.

We received a lot of phones calls, Tweets and Facebook posts from worried neighbors, wondering what was going on.
SkyEye 13 HD was over the south side where at first look, it appeared there was a massive SWAT scene happening.

With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn't know what to think.

"When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst," Jerrals said.
And so, she passed along her concern.

"She told me 'don't come home it sounds like we're in a war zone. Guns, shooting, helicopters flying around the house,'" Isaac Robertson Jr. said.

The U.S. Army along with other agencies took over the old Carnegie Vanguard High School near Scott and Airport. There were armed men in fatigues, plenty of weapons and what many thought were real live rounds
"I felt like I was in a warzone." Jerrals said. "It was nonstop. I was terrified."

Turns out, it was a multi-agency training drill that Jerrals wished would have come with warning.
"They could have done a better job in notifying the neighborhood," Jerrals said.
The Army did not give any details of what the training is for. Some people we spoke to needed no explanation.

U.S. Military Plans To Set Up Drone Base In Northwest Africa

The base for the robotic, unmanned aircraft would likely be located inNiger, on the eastern border of Mali, where French forces are currently waging a campaign against al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), an official told the New York Times.
The airfield would allow for better intelligence gathering by unarmed drones on the movement of AQIM and other militants, which Washington considers a growing threat.
If the plan is approved, up to 300 US military service members and contractors could be sent to the base to operate the drone aircraft.
US Africa Command was also looking at an alternative location for the base in Burkina Faso, the official said.

U.S. Action In Mali Is Another Undeclared War

President Obama last week began his second term by promising that "a decade of war is now ending." As he spoke, the US military was rapidly working its way into another war, this time in the impoverished African country of Mali. As far as we know, the US is only providing transport and intelligence assistance to France, which initiated the intervention then immediately called Washington for back-up and funding. However, even if US involvement is limited and, as Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said, US boots on the ground are not being considered "at this time," this clearly is developing into another war. As usual, the mission is creeping.

Media questions as to whether the US has Special Operations forces, drones, or CIA paramilitary units active in Mali are unanswered by the administration. Congress has asked few questions and demanded few answers from the president. As usual, it was not even consulted. But where does the president get the authority to become a co-combatant in French operations in Mali, even if US troops are not yet overtly involved in the attack?

How did we get to Mali? Blowback and unintended consequences played key roles. When the president decided to use the US military to attack Libya in 2011, Congress was not consulted. The president claimed that UN and NATOauthority for the use of US military force were sufficient and even superior to any kind of congressional declaration. Congress once again relinquished its authority, but also its oversight power, by remaining silent. That meant the difficult questions such as why the action is necessary, what it would entail and what kind of unintended consequences we might see if the operation does not go exactly as planned were neither asked nor answered.

DHS Seeks 7,000 AR-15s With 30 Round Magazines For 'Personal Defense'

According to New York state Senator Greg Ball (R), the Department of Homeland Security is seeking7,000 self-defense weapons--all of which are AR-15 variants.

These are the very weapons Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Joe Manchin (D-WV), have been telling us nobody needs for self-defense. Apparently, DHS disagrees.
As I wrote on January 14th, a "Personal Defense Weapons Solicitation" was circulated within DHS describing an AR-15 variant as "suitable for personal defense." Now, 7,000 such weapons are being sought.
DHS is also seeking 30 round magazines for use with all the rifles.

22 Signs That America Is Transforming Into North Korea

Unfortunately, the United States of America is becoming more like North Korea with each passing day.  North Korea is a totalitarian police state hellhole where the state rules supreme, the “leader” is lavishly worshipped, no dissent is tolerated, and the government micromanages everything.  America is supposed to be the opposite of that, but now Barack Obama is implementing his version of “change” and he has promised to engage in the “remaking” of this nation and to transform it “brick by brick“.  A tremendous “cult of personality” has been built up around Obama, and under his leadership the U.S. government has become larger and more repressive than ever before.  But do we really want to “change” America so that it more closely resembles totalitarian regimes such as North Korea, communist China, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany?  After all, all of those regimes have a nightmarish history of brutality and death.

Let us learn the hard lessons that history has tried to teach us.  We don’t want to go down the same path that North Korea, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and communist China have traveled.
There is an absolutely amazing National Geographic documentary that shows what life is like inside North Korea.  You can view it on YouTube right here.  We don’t want our children and our grandchildren to someday live in a nation like that.
Freedom and liberty are precious things.  They are very hard to win, and they are very easy to lose.
Let us not be the generation that loses everything that our forefathers worked so hard to build.

Resistance

This article should be read in full. Below are just a few of the most germane quotes:

Each and every day now Obama and his syndicate government are pushing harder and harder for the removal of all of our liberties, in order to place us into slavery and create a permanent police state. Even the most dense on the far Left are now aware—some only vaguely—that things are not as they should be. However, the further Left one goes, the more perverse and unstable one becomes.

Luciferianism—Marxist, Nazi, Fascist or otherwise—is and has always been the End Goal of the power-maddened once-human would-be masters and oppressors of the human race. And nation by nation, they have been practicing this tyranny for a very long time.
Members of the Obama syndicate and the growing New World Order globalist elites long ago came out into the open with their plans.

From Agenda 21 (to steal all private property and move humans from rural environments to urban centers where their movements and population numbers will be easier to manipulate and control), through the removal of all human rights (while the “overseers” say they are actually installing them)—in America that’s nullifying the US Constitution and substituting it with ObamaLaw—and replacing the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob with the worship of Lucifer (also known as atheism and Islam), our planned overseers are now daily stripping us of everything we have and punishing our beliefs if they do not subscribe to the worship of both their malevolent vision and dark lord. This is what’s occurring. It’s directly in front of us, now, and in our faces.

There are, also, multiple books outlining his tyrannical plans and their implementation, including his expert use of the Cloward-Piven Strategy, which teaches overwhelming the US system on every level. I will not and cannot address them all here. However, Richard Poe is also one who writes about this insidious plan in his 2005 article The Cloward-Piven Strategy: “Their article called for “cadres of aggressive organizers” to use “demonstrations to create a climate of militancy.”

Since 2009, Obama has been using military helicopters to fly over US cities and tanks and other heavy artillery in “training exercises.”
These cities include but, are not limited to Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and Boulder. This is a first in our history as a nation. The populations are not warned ahead of time, in order to create the maximum amount of fear of their government. Obama used the helicopters to fly over residents in Worchester, Massachusetts, and literally dive-bombed residents’ homes waking them up at midnight and his latest escalation in Obama’s ongoing war against US citizens was a fly-over and joint military-local police exercise conducted this month in Miami, FL.

The Incredible U.S. Military Spy Drone - So Powerful It Can See What Type Of Cell Phone You Are Carrying from 7,500 Feet

A sinister airborne surveillance camera gives the U.S. military the ability to track movements in an entire city like a real-time Google Street View.
The ARGUS-IS array can be mounted on unmanned drones to capture an area of 15 sq/miles in an incredible 1,800MP - that's 225 times more sensitive than an iPhone camera.
From 17,500ft the remarkable surveillance system can capture objects as small as 6in on the ground and allows commanders to track movements across an entire battlefield in real time.

As technology increases, so does the necessary 'equipment' needed for a world-wide totalitarian state. The capability now exists for a variety of technological advances which would be required for a worldwide dictator to track individuals, to institute a worldwide financial system ('mark of the beast'), and to monitor and/or track virtually any individual who would oppose such a dictator or refuse to take 'the mark'. This wasn't possible a decade ago, but now it is, as we approach the end of this generation.

The road has been paved. All it awaits now is it's leader.

Tehran Suspects Mossad In Fordo Blast

This comes from Times Of Israel

Tehran Suspects Mossad

There is plenty of intrigue around this situation - hopefully the truth will emerge soon:

Iran’s underground Fordo nuclear plant was indeed hit by an explosion sometime last week, and Iranian officials suspect the Mossad or CIA as responsible actors, the former Iranian intelligence officer who initially broke the story said Monday.
In an interview with Channel 2 News, Hamidreza Zakeri surmised, however, that an Iranian “internal action” could also have been at play.
Some 240 people were working at the plant at a depth of 90 meters at the time of the incident, according to Zakeri. He said that the two elevators normally available for transfer to the surface are now out of order and it is unknown if workers were hurt or killed in the explosion.
Channel 2′s Middle East analyst Ehud Yaari said that the IAEA would know within days if a blast had actually occurred at the plant. According to Yaari, the UN nuclear watchdog has cameras placed at Fordo, which it inspects every seven to 10 days.
The explosion reportedly occurred last Monday, so if Iran doesn’t let the IAEA inspectors into the facility in the next two or three days “we’ll know something happened,” he said.
The White House on Monday dismissed reports that there was a blast at the facility.
“We have no information to confirm the allegations in the report and we do not believe the report is credible,” press secretary Jay Carney said. “We don’t believe those are credible reports.”
Israeli intelligence officials confirmed that a major explosion had rocked an Iranian nuclear facility, The Times of London reported. The British daily on Monday cited officials in Tel Aviv to the effect that the blast had occurred last week, as originally reported on the website wnd.com.
Iran is not believed to have evacuated the area surrounding the Fordo plant, according to the same Israeli sources, who said that an investigation into the blast was ongoing.
“We are still in the preliminary stages of understanding what happened and how significant it is,” one Israeli was quoted by the London Times as saying. He did not know if the explosion was “sabotage or accident” and refused to comment on rumors that Israeli aircraft were seen near Fordo at the time of the blast.
On Sunday, Israel’s Home Front Defense Minister Avi Dichter welcomed the report of the blast, saying, “Any explosion in Iran that doesn’t hurt people but hurts its assets is welcome.”

Israel's Enemies Closing In (III). Tensions Increasing By The Day

Things are moving fast in the Middle East (again) - and everything points towards conflict:

Former Revolutionary Guards member tells 'Post' that such a blow to Fordow nuclear facility would harm Iran drastically; says Tehran "has decided to retaliate against Israel from Lebanon."

Iranian dissident-turned CIA operative Reza Kahlili told The Jerusalem Post on Monday that an alleged blast at the Fordow nuclear installation in Iran is "the largest case of sabotage in decades."
Although it has not yet been verified, a report by  Kahlili, according to which a massive blast rocked Iran's key Fordow nuclear installation last week, continued to spread on Monday.

Speaking to the Post on Monday, Khalili expressed confidence that the alleged blast will receive "further coverage in the US," and that "more information" will become available to verify the incident.
"This is the center of the Iranian nuclear program. It's essential for the regime, its activities, and its nuclear program. If such a blow was given to Fordow, it definitely harms [Iran] drastically. They were reaching for 20 percent uranium enrichment, and were increasing output," he added.
Situated near the holy Shi'ite city of Qom, the existence of the Fordow enrichment plant, dug deep into a mountain, was kept secret by Iran, until it was discovered by Western intelligence in 2009, and the question of how long it had been in operation remains unanswered.

And where will this lead? The following conclusion of the article may reveal:

Asked why satellite imagery was not being released of rescue efforts at Fordow, Kahlili said only state intelligence agencies have access to live satellite feeds. "Why don't they put it out? My only assumption is that no one wants to take credit because of what the consequences could be by the regime," he said.

"This is a very sensitive time. I'm sure that soon, very soon, more information will leak out. Chatter will get loud enough to provide further information." Kahlili went on to say that the "first suspicion is Israel" within the Islamic Republic. "I have verified information that there was a meeting [called by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei. A decision was made to act in Lebanon. A request was made to [Hezbollah chief Hassan] Nasrallah to vacate southern Lebanese villages. Islamic Republic Guards are on their way there. A decision has been made to prepare for missile launch from a certain area in Lebanon against Israel," he said.

And this:

Khalili said one of the sources who initially leaked information of the blast came from within the security forces guarding Fordow, adding that precise information of the attack was not being released in order to protect the source. "The source has been collaborating for a long time," he said. A second source came from the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, he said, adding that it was very difficult to safely get information out of Iran.
Iranian authorities have not yet made any progress in their attempt to enter Fordow, Kahlili asserted, adding, "I fear there is radiation involved." Iran's defense ministry dispatched drilling vehicles, "the same they used to carve tunnels and create underground facilities, to see if they can make any headway in opening emergency exists, because they collapsed. Among those stuck in the facility are dozens of foreign nationals. These are contracted scientists," he said.
Kahlili said a second mysterious blast occurred in Tehran last week, at an IRGC base called "21 Hamza." "There are injuries, and there have been arrests of IRGC members who are being questioned. The Intelligence Ministry suspects sabotage," he added.

Israeli intelligence officials have confirmed that a major explosion has rocked an Iranian nuclear facility, according to a report Monday in The Times of London.
The British daily cited officials in Tel Aviv who said the blast occurred last week, as originally reported on the website wnd.com.

Iran is not believed to have evacuated the area surrounding the Fordo plant, according to the same Israeli sources, who said that an investigation into the blast was ongoing.
“We are still in the preliminary stages of understanding what happened and how significant it is,” one Israeli official told the London Times. He did not know if the explosion was “sabotage or accident” and refused to comment on reports that Israeli aircraft were seen near Fordo at the time of the blast.

Amid growing fears in Israel about Syrian chemical weapons use, National Security Council head Yaakov Amidror was dispatched to Moscow for a lighting visit on Monday to convince the Kremlin to take steps to prevent Syria’s stockpiles from falling into the hands of terrorist groups.
In Moscow, Amidror was reportedly to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other top officials, Israeli daily Maariv reported. Russia, a close Syrian ally, has backed embattled Syrian President Bashar Assad but has begun sending signals of waning support for Damascus.
The chaos of the nearly two-year old Syrian civil war has raised deep concerns in Israel and the West that the chemical weapons stockpiled for decades under the Assad regime could make their way into the hands of rogue elements such as Hezbollah or al-Qaeda.
Israel also reportedly fears that advanced anti-tank and anti-aircraft weaponry, supplied by Russia to Syria, could be acquired by Hezbollah, reducing Israel’s air and armor superiority against the Shiite terrorist organization based in south Lebanon.

On Sunday, Israel moved two Iron Dome anti-missile batteries to the north of the country, positioning one in Haifa for the first time.
The IDF said the move was a routine re-positioning, but it came on the heels of a security meeting held by top officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to discuss the Syrian threat.
Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said Israel could take preventative action if it looked like Syria was attempting to use or transfer the chemical weapons.

With the madness of the general elections receding in the rearview, Israeli politics can return to its normal state of abject panic over the increasingly degrading situation in Syria. The big issue in Monday’s papers is the deployment of Iron Dome batteries in northern Israel and revived concerns of Syria’s chemical weapon stocks falling into the wrong hands.
Yedioth Ahronoth reports on the threat of Syrian chemical weapons falling into the hands of Hezbollah and the deployment of an Iron Dome anti-missile battery near the northern city of Haifa. It says that deployment of multiple Iron Dome batteries in northern Israel of late is “just one of a list of signs testifying to the intensifying security tension on Israel’s northern border.” High-level security meetings among IDF brass and between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro indicate heightened concern over Syria’s stability.

Columnist Alex Fishman reports in the paper that until now Hezbollah had stored its advanced weaponry in Syria, but in recent months, “because of [Syrian President Bashar] Assad’s undermined position, the organization understands that the weapons cannot stay there.” Once those arms reach Lebanon, they will be buried underground and will be impossible to find, he says.
“If chemical weapons are brought into Lebanon,” he says, “it is reasonable to assume that Israel will not hesitate — and will attack.”

Israel could launch a pre-emptive strike to stop Syria's chemical weapons from reaching Lebanon's Hezbollah or al Qaeda inspired groups, officials said Sunday.
The warning came as the military moved a rocket defense system to a main northern city, and Israel's premier warned of dangers from both Syria and Iran.

Shalom told the Army Radio station that the transfer of weapons to violent groups, particularly the Iranian-backed Lebanese Hezbollah, would be a game changer.
"It would be crossing a line that would demand a different approach, including even action," he said. Asked whether this might mean a pre-emptive attack, he said: "We will have to make the decisions."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to threats from Syria and Iran at a Cabinet meeting Sunday. Iran is Syria's main regional ally.
"We must look around us, at what is happening in Iran and its proxies and at what is happening in other areas, with the deadly weapons in Syria, which is increasingly coming apart," he said.
Israel views Iran as an existential threat because of its nuclear and missile programs and support for violent anti-Israeli groups in Lebanon and Gaza, as well as repeated references by Iranian leaders to Israel's destruction. Iran denies it is seeking to build atomic weapons, insisting its nuclear program is for civilian purposes.

The Nobel Peace laureate, 89, was speaking about prospects in the Middle East at the World Economic Forum.
He said nuclear proliferation in the region triggered by an armed Iran would increase the chances of an atomic war - "a turning point in human history".
He also urged the US and Russia to co-operate in resolving Syria's conflict.
"There has emerged in the region, the current and most urgent issue of nuclear proliferation. For 15 years, the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) have declared that a nuclear Iran is unacceptable, but it has been approaching," he said.
"In a few years, people will have to come to a determination of how to react, or the consequences of non-reaction.
"I believe this point will be reached in a very foreseeable future," he added.

Lebanon-based Hizbullah terrorist organization is setting up bases in Syria close to known chemical weapons storage facilities, according to a source quoted in a report published Monday by Israeli Hebrew-language news outlet Ynet.

Hizbullah, which is generously funded and equipped by Iran, has been working to shore up the government forces backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, together with Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards.

But even with that assistance, the loyalists are beginning to lose their grip on the country, and it appears likely that Assad’s regime may soon fall.

If it does, there is a strong likelihood that he may first choose to hand over the country’s chemical weapons arsenal to his Iranian patrons. The other possibility is that Hizbullah may simply decide to seize the arsenal before anyone else has a chance to take it or destroy it.
The report follows on the heels of news that Jordan has tightened its security along its northern border with Syria, massing thousands of soldiers along with artillery, armored vehicles and other ordnance in the area.

Israel, too, has beefed up its security as the chaos escalates in Syria. On Sunday, theIDF deployed Iron Dome anti-missile defense batteries at multiple locationsthroughout the north, and stepped up work on the new border fence in the area.
The new fence is embedded with highly technical surveillance systems designed to provide information with pinpoint accuracy about activities taking place within Syria’s inland region.
Chemical weapons are delivered in warheads on missiles fired either from surface-to-air launchers, or dropped on to targets by war planes.

Speaking from a hideout in an Arab nation outside the country several weeks ago, a Syrian source said that two senior Syrian officials transported 100 kilomgrams of chemicals used to create the deadly sarin nerve gas from a base 50 kilometers northeast of Damascus, to a site located closer to Lebanon.
At the time, the source said the Assad regime had developed special vehicles equipped to move and mix chemicals to create the weaponry. The defector who revealed the information told the source that two men with Lebanese accents had arrived at the secret base and were trained to mix the isopropanol and methylphosphonyl difluoride – the combination that produces sarin gas.
Syria is known to possess 500 tons of the two chemicals, but up to that point, had stored them in separate areas so as to avoid the danger of inadvertently creating the lethal combination.
