4.6 Quake Strikes Israel

Earthquake Rocks Israel

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake shook Israel at 7:53 pm last night. No injuries were reported, but residents from the North to the South of the country including Jerusalem described shakings and damage to homes.
The epicenter of the quake was 200 kilometers west of Israel and 10 km (6.2 miles) under the Mediterranean Sea.
Israel’s Home Front Command posted guidelines to residents across the country on how to take action to protect lives. The last time Israel was rocked by an earthquake was just this past January, when a tremor of 3.6 magnitude was felt in the north of the country.
There have been 5 earthquakes in the past 365 days in Israel, according to the US Geological Survey program, which accurately monitors seismic activities around the globe.
