What we are seeing is a highly predictable pattern emerging throughout the world:
The number of Jews leaving France for Israel is up 400% in the first quarter of 2014, according to AFP. The largest remnant of Jews in Europe surviving the Holocaust is now under a new threat, one that echoes the last century’s, but with new faces and names.
The Jewish Agency for Israel, a global body responsible for the immigration and absorption of Jews into Israel, said 1,407 people left France for Israel between January and March against 353 people a year earlier.
"This phenomenon is speeding up" said Ariel Kandel, the head of the Jewish Agency's French chapter. (snip)
Kandel told AFP that the reasons for the hike in numbers were a "climate of anti-Semitism" and the prevailing gloomy economic situation in France.
The French news agency’s story does not mention the words “Muslim” or “immigrant,” but the anti-Semitism that matters today in France is far different from the imported Nazi variety or the traditional French disdain that ensnared Col. Dreyfuss. Muslims, immigrants and their French-born children, principally from North Africa, are attacking Jews on the streets and making life unpleasant for anyone identifiably Jewish.
While France stagnates, weighed down by a welfare state and income taxes as high as 75%, Israel is booming, with a vibrant high technology economy. But it is almost certainly the violence and harassment that is driving French Jews out.
With more and more of the world’s Jewish population concentrated in one vulnerable country surrounded by neighbors who wish to drive Jews into the sea, the dark forces seeking extermination of the world’s most ancient ethnicity are floating on a rising tide.
The number of French Jews emigrating to Israel rose nearly four-fold in the first quarter of the year and could touch a record in 2014, a Jewish organisation said Monday.
"We will not finish the year with four times more the number than in 2013 but if the current rhythm continues, there will be more than 5,000 French people leaving for Israel, something that has never happened since its creation in 1948," he said.
Kandel told AFP that the reasons for the hike in numbers were a "climate of anti-Semitism" and the prevailing gloomy economic situation in France.
The number of French Jews leaving for Israel has been growing steadily. A total of 1,907 left in 2012 and it rose to 3,280 in 2013.
More than three million people have emigrated to Israel since 1948, including some 90,000 from France.
There is no shortage of theories or writings related to the rise of the Third Reich and the subsequent Holocaust.Stephen Halbrook’s 2013 book, Gun Control in the Third Reichoffers a compelling and important account of the role of gun prohibition in aiding Hitler’s goals of exterminating the Jews and other “enemies of the state.” While much of the early gun prohibition was created with supposedly good intent, Halbrook carefully and meticulously details how a change in political regime facilitated manipulating some well-intentioned gun registration laws and other gun prohibition to be used in inconceivable ways.
Students of history as well as Second Amendment enthusiasts will find this a fascinating book and will find parallels between gun prohibition in pre-Nazi and Nazi Germany, and attempts to prohibit types of gun ownership and implement other forms of gun prohibition in the United States today. The current climate in the United States surrounding gun prohibition combined with a president who uses his office to impose executive order in ways not historically common gives many citizens pause, especially when looking at the era of the Third Reich. While certain states have imposed gun registration laws recently, enforcement of the laws remains unclear.
While Halbrook is careful to point out that a combination of factors led to the events of the Holocaust, there is no denying that many of the pre-war activities contributed to Hitler’s ability to disarm targeted groups, particularly the Jews. The rapid pace with which Hitler disarmed the populace in Germany is startling. Halbrook’s account is gripping, thorough, and full of legal documentation, leading the reader through the sometimes-daily changes in gun prohibitions that furthered Hitler’s agenda. Ultimately, the prohibitions enacted by the Nazi regime led to monopoly control of firearms by the Nazis and eliminated the ability of many groups in society to defend themselves. A similar progression in contemporary society related to government control of firearms and the firearms industry is a concern of many gun owners in the United States today.
In several eastern Ukrainian towns over the past week, the military opened fire on its own citizens. Dozens may have been killed in the violence. Although the US government generally condemns a country’s use of military force against its own population, especially if they are unarmed protesters, this time the US administration blamed the victims. After as many as 20 unarmed protesters were killed on the May 9th holiday in Ukraine, the State Department spokesman said “we condemn the outbreak of violence caused by pro-Russia separatists.”
Why are people protesting in eastern Ukraine? Because they do not believe the government that came to power after the US-backed uprising in February is legitimate. They do not recognize the authority of an unelected president and prime minister. The US sees this as a Russian-sponsored destabilization effort, but is it so hard to understand that the people in Ukraine may be annoyed with the US and EU for their involvement in regime change in their country? Would we be so willing to accept an unelected government in Washington put in place with the backing of the Chinese and Iranians?
The real question is why the US government is involved in Ukraine in the first place. We are broke. We cannot even afford to fix our own economy. Yet we want to run Ukraine? Does it really matter who Ukrainians elect to represent them? Is it really a national security matter worth risking a nuclear war with Russia whether Ukraine votes for more regional autonomy and a weaker central government? Isn’t that how the United States was originally conceived?
Has the arrogance of the US administration, thinking they should run the world, driven us to the brink of another major war in Europe? Let us hope they will stop this dangerous game and come to their senses.

China’s placement of the giant state-owned oil rig HD-981 in Block 143 inside Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on May 2 was unexpected, provocative and illegal.
This incident marks the first time China has placed one of its oil rigs in the EEZ of another state without prior permission. This was an unexpected move because China-Vietnam relations have been on an upward trajectory since the visit to Hanoi by Premier Li Keqiang in October. At that time, both sides indicated they had reached agreement to carry forward discussions on maritime issues. China’s move was also unexpected because Vietnam has not undertaken any discernible provocative action that would justify China’s unprecedented actions.
China’s deployment of the rig was provocative because the oil rig was accompanied by as many as 80 ships, including seven People’s Liberation Army Navy warships. When Vietnam dispatched Coast Guard vessels to defend its sovereign jurisdiction, China responded by ordering its ships to use water cannons and to deliberately ram the Vietnamese vessels. These actions were not only highly dangerous, but caused injuries to the Vietnamese crew.
China’s actions are illegal under international law. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying justified China’s actions by claiming the rig’s operations were in Chinese “territorial waters” and had nothing to do with Vietnam. In other words, China has adopted a position similar to Japan with regard to the Senkaku Islands by declaring there is no dispute with Vietnam.
In a nuclear tit for tat, U.S. Strategic Command, which is in charge of waging nuclear war, will hold large-scale bomber exercises this week. This follows on the heels of Russia conducting “massive” war games simulating a U.S. and NATO nuclear attack a few days ago. Both sides are denying this has anything to do with war — that the drills were coincidentally scheduled late last year. Are you kidding me? Wow… the lies just get more and more brazen and deadly. It is looking more and more as if the Russkies want a piece of the U.S. The Ukraine is pretext.
On the Russian side, the test launch of a SS-25 Topol intercontinental missile and two SS-N-23 submarine-launched ballistic missiles was conducted. Additional missile firings included six Russian air-launched nuclear-capable cruise missiles. Putin had a front row seat with popcorn for the event. Which, by the way, was held on the anniversary celebrations marking their victory in WWII. Get it? The jokes on the world. Gimme, gimme, gimme war. Former Pentagon official Mark Schneider said the exercises are unusual and appear aimed at the West. Ya think? I suppose when the nukes rain down, you’ll call for partly cloudy radiation as well. Suicidally clueless:
“This type of exercise is normally held in the fall not the spring. Holding it now suggests to me that the intent was nuclear intimidation against NATO over the Ukraine,” he said.
Sounds like old-home terrorist week to me, just hypnotized by the coming show. Make no mistake, this was Putin showing how he would counter a nuclear strike by the U.S. Or more to the point, counter a retaliatory strike:
Enter the Chinese, who are Russia’s number one friend these days. They are set to conduct joint military exercises in the region in the near future. Guess who they will be simulating attacks against? Still think there is no threat? The threat is imminent and very, very real.
The missile defense interceptor was an ABM-3 Gazelle missile defense interceptor. It was fired from the Sarys Shagan test site reportedly. In its deployed state, the interceptor is armed with a 10-kiloton nuclear warhead. Gives you that warm, wet-your-pants feeling, doesn’t it? And that is because our military is totally depleted and our defenses are greatly lessened currently, leaving us open to very bad things.
On to the U.S. side of military posturing… Ten B-52 bombers and as many as six B-2 strategic bombers will play at war in a game wittily entitled: “Global Lightning 14.” This will be played out from the 12th thru the 16th. Of course, we are trying to show we have a set as big as Putie Put’s. Which when I think of Obama vs. Putin, is laughable and depressing. Obama’s manhood is not exactly rocking the free world. I find the purpose statement curious as stated: to “demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in training scenarios throughout the continental U.S.” So, fighting here as opposed to there? Defense, not offense? Ponder that for a while.
“Global Lightning 14″ has been supposedly planned for more than a year. Actually, I believe that. They have known this was coming for a long time. But it is window dressing for the people, not serious battle planningagainst the enemy:
“This exercise provides unique training opportunities to incorporate the most current technology and techniques in support of our mission,” said Adm. Cecil Haney, Strategic Command commander. “Continued focus and investment in our strategic capabilities allow US Stratcom to deter, dissuade, and defeat current and future threats to the U.S. and our allies.”
Stratcom says this is ‘unrelated’ to events concerning Russia. Right. The head of our CIA and the Secretary of Defense won’t even label Russia an enemy. Well, to the elites, they aren’t. They are a means to an end. But, make no mistake… Russia and China are our enemies and are eventually coming after us.
No word on whether “Global Lightning 14″ will include missile launches. It’s interesting we know more about the Russian’s military exercises than we do about our own. What does that tell you? Stratcom would not give further details. They gave a bland, non-committal, vague statement on the drill. What did you expect? However, there will be simulated cyber attacks. Wonder if those will come from the enemies within or without? Just sayin’.
As the U.S., Russia and China engage in another round of Nuclear RISK, they keep denying the obvious… that the world is in the opening salvo of WWIII.
