‘Mystery virus’ ravages Cuba leaving hospitals on verge of COLLAPSE as death toll ‘covered up’ and medics silenced

CUBA has been overwhelmed by a disease known as “the virus” – leaving hospitals on the verge of collapse as the Communist regime faces accusations of a cover-up. 

High fevers, red spots, peeling skin, swollen joints, vomiting and diarrhoea are among symptoms crippling the island’s population – but Cubans have no idea what they are suffering from.

This week the Canadian government announced health screenings and quarantine of up to seven days for those coming back from the country.

And in December, Spain told its citizens to stay away from Cuba due to a “serious epidemic”. 

Known just as “the virus” to many, reports suggest one third of the Cuba’s population has been infected – and the British Medical Journal described the “surge” as the country’s most serious crisis in recent decades.

Cuba reported 52 deaths from the virus as of December 17, most of which were children, and officials recently reported more than 38,000 suspected cases of the diseases.

But many Cubans say the true numbers are far higher than the state will admit.

Manuel Cuesta Morúa, a prominent human rights activist in Havana, said the outbreak started in Matanzas about five months ago where sudden deaths began to occur.

But, he said, the government hid the figures by issuing death certificates that failed to mention the virus. 

He told The Sun: “These deaths were never officially recognised as resulting from the virus and were instead presented as ‘natural causes’.

“It was in the provincial hospital of Matanzas that a nurse, later expelled from her job and silenced, raised the alarm about the unusually high number of deaths being recorded.”

As the virus spread, the regime stayed silent. 

By late October, health officials said there had been 13,000 new fever cases across the country in a week. 

In areas like Camagüey and Holguín, cemeteries have reportedly been overwhelmed. 

Three months after the disease spread across the island, the Cuban government recognised the crisis as an epidemic.

But the regime still refused to declare a national health emergency.

An eye-witness account from a security guard of Nicholas Maduro's, still loyal to the now-removed dictator of Venezuela, describes an amazing sonic weapon that "brought them to their knees."

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt retweeted the account on X, showing off the American muscles used to raid the home of the socialist leader and arrest him. The security guard, whose identity was not disclosed, described a "massacre" as they found themselves out-gunned and out-droned before the U.S. supposedly launched a "sonic" weapon that caused vomiting and nosebleeds.

The security guard began: "Yes, but it was a massacre. We were hundreds, but we had no chance. They were shooting with such precision and speed... it seemed like each soldier was firing 300 rounds per minute. We couldn't do anything."

The interviewer asked about Venezuelan weapons, and if they helped the onslaught. The guard answered, "No help at all. Because it wasn't just the weapons. At one point, they launched something—I don't know how to describe it... it was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly, I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move."

About 34 Cuban nationals were listed as among the dead in the operation, while Venezuela's interior minister, Diosdado Cabello, says about 100 people were killed in the operation. Cabello rose to power under Huge Chavez, and has been sanctioned by the U.S. along with family members for “narcotics trafficking.”

In the rest of the interview, the security guard talked about how powerless his troops were compared to American forces, and warned Latin America about confronting the Americans.

"Those twenty men, without a single casualty, killed hundreds of us," the security guard continued. "We had no way to compete with their technology, with their weapons. I swear, I've never seen anything like it. We couldn't even stand up after that sonic weapon or whatever it was."

The interviewer asked about the rest of the region and their relations with America. "Without a doubt. I'm sending a warning to anyone who thinks they can fight the United States. They have no idea what they're capable of. After what I saw, I never want to be on the other side of that again. They're not to be messed with," continued the Venezuelan guard.

The interviewer was listed as Mike Netter, who described himself as the "main proponent for the drive to Recall Gavin Newsom, California," and has a podcast.

The arrest of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a stunning military operation early Saturday in Venezuela sets the stage for a major test for U.S. prosecutors as they seek to secure a conviction in a New Yorkcourtroom against the longtime leader of the oil-rich South American nation.

In New York, Maduro and Cilia Flores, also accused of corruption and bribery, will be accorded the same rights as any other alleged criminals awaiting their trial date. This includes the right to a trial by a jury of ordinary New Yorkers.

Three Takeaways From Trump's Seizure Of A Russian-Flagged Tanker In The Atlantic

The overarching trend is that the US is militarily reasserting its historical “sphere of influence” over the Americas, and enforcing the maritime component of “Fortress America” is so important for Trump 2.0 that it’s willing to rubbish the “rules-based order” over it and even risk an accidental war with Russia.

The Russian-flagged Marinera tanker was just seized by the US in the Atlantic. It was earlier named the Bella 1 and is under US sanctions due to connections to Hezbollah. It sailed under the Guyanese flag from Iran to Venezuela and attempted to break the US’ blockade. It failed, turned around, changed its name to the Marinera, and received a temporary permit to sail under the Russian flag before being seized. Russian then demanded that its citizens on board be treated humanely and returned home.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth posted that “The blockade of sanctioned and illicit Venezuelan oil remains in FULL EFFECT — anywhere in the world.” This preceded Attorney General Pam Bondi threatening that criminal charges might be pursued against the crew. Her tweet and Hegseth’s other one about how the US will only permit “legitimate and lawful” energy commerce with Venezuela shows that it’s once again assuming so-called “police” functions. Here are three takeaways from this incident:

1. The US Is Surprisingly Nonchalant About An Accidental War With Russia

It was brazen even by the US’ standards to seize a Russian-flagged tanker, especially after Western media reported that Russia had dispatched ships and a submarine to escort it, which Russia didn’t confirm and none were nearby during the seizure. Nevertheless, Trump 2.0 calculated that there’d be no retaliation despite the deputy chairman of Russia’s parliamentary defense committee warning that “any attack on our carriers can be regarded as an attack on our territory, even if the ship is under a foreign flag.”

This incident interestingly occurred in parallel with the US backing European ceasefire guarantees for Ukraine that include British and French commitments to deploy troops there during that time even though Russia has repeatedly warned that they’d be legitimate targets. 

Quite clearly, the US is now surprisingly nonchalant about an accidental war with Russia, whether over seizing one of its flagged ships at sea or over NATO allies getting killed in Ukraine. This observation won’t be lost on Russia.

2. “Fortress America” Also Includes An Important Maritime Component

The goal of restoring the US’ unipolar hegemony over the Americas, which is described as the highest regional priority in its new National Security Strategy, can be referred to as building “Fortress America”. This isn’t being pursued just for reasons of prestige but also pragmatism in the sense of enabling the US to survive and even thrive if it’s ever expelled from the Eastern Hemisphere or decides to retreat from there since control over the hemisphere’s resources and markets would all but ensure this outcome.

As can be seen by this incident as well as Hegseth’s and Bondi’s posts about it, there’s also an important maritime component related to controlling the export of oil from Venezuela, which has the world’s largest reserves. This can only be achieved by maintaining the unilateral blockade and seizing all ships that violate it, both on law enforcement pretexts that embody the concept of extraterritoriality. Without this maritime component, “Fortress America” could never truly be built, but it’s not without some costs.

3. The US Is Dismantling The “Rules-Based Order” That It Built Over The Decades

The abovementioned point segues into the last one about how the US’ militarily enforced extraterritoriality vis-à-vis Venezuela dismantles the “rules-based order” that it built over the decades for maintaining its unipolar hegemony over the world after the end of the Old Cold War. This violates the international laws that the US used to selectively police across the world according to its arbitrary standards. Instead of international ones, the US is now policing its own, but also in pursuit of hegemony.

International law has increasingly become illusory due to the UN’s innate dysfunction, which is related to the deadlock among the UNSC’s five permanent members, with one usually vetoing significant proposals from the others. Even so, if the Great Powers abided by it in their ties with one another, then there’d be more predictability and less risk of war by miscalculation. The US is no longer interested in even that as proven by this incident, however, since building “Fortress America” now takes precedence over all else.

The trend connecting the three aforementioned takeaways is that the US is militantly reasserting its historical “sphere of influence” over the Americas, and this is so important for Trump 2.0 that it’s willing to rubbish the “rules-based order” over it and even risk an accidental war with Russia. The maritime component off of Venezuela’s Caribbean coast that’s been built before all else is justified by the administration as a law enforcement operation that prioritizes domestic laws over international ones.

Since this is taking place on the other side of the world where neither half of the Sino-Russo Entente has any military bases, they can’t challenge this even through indirect means, unlike how the US challenged Russia’s reassertion of its own historical “sphere of influence” in Ukraine through the ongoing proxy war. This doesn’t mean that the US’ grand strategic goal of restoring its unipolar hegemony over the Americas will succeed, just that if it doesn’t, then it’ll be due to intra-hemispheric reasons and not external forces.

If anything screams that we live in the last days, it’s the widespread violence of our day.

The recent shooting at Brown University and murderous attack against the Jews celebrating Hanukah in Australia are just some examples of the increasing trend of bloodshed that marks the day in which we live.

But is today’s violence more prophetically significant than any other period in church history? During the last century, socialism, communism, and the Nazi regime of Hitler caused the deaths of one hundred million people. That was indeed a terrible time in human history.

However, I believe that what we see today is different from the past for two key reasons, but first, I will set the prophetic context.

DAYS OF NOAH

After providing us with the signs of the last days and describing His glorious return to the earth, Jesus said, “For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man” (Matthew 24:37). Our day is remarkably similar to the time of Noah in many ways, but the parallel I want to emphasize is the violence of Noah’s day::

And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Genesis 6:13)

Scripture doesn’t provide us with all the specifics of the perils of living in the ante-diluvian world. Ancient accounts, however, reveal the presence of giants, the Nephilim of Genesis 6:4, who by virtue of their size likely terrorized the rest of humanity.

Looking ahead to the Tribulation period, Scripture tells us it will also be an incredibly violent time likely surpassing even that of the time of Noah. Jesus said that only His return to the earth will prevent the end of all humanity (Matthew 24:21-22). When Jesus opens the third seal, a bright red horse will appear and take away any remaining peace on the earth (Revelation 6:3-4).

We know the Day of the Lord as described in Scripture will be a particularly violent and deadly time. And if we are close to its start, would we not expect to see a buildup to what will happen after the Rapture? For the following reasons, I believe today’s violence is a precursor to that of the Tribulation period.

IT’S EVERYWHERE WITH UNPRECEDENTED NUMBERS

First, the earth is again full of violence just like the days of Noah. Shootings occur in schools, colleges, stores, and restaurants. Cars drive at rapid speeds through crowds killing and maiming people.

In Nigeria, the number of Christians killed by the Muslims will exceed ten thousand just for 2025.

The most prevalent form of violence today is abortion. Worldwide, the number of children murdered in the womb during the past fifty years exceeds one billion. Does anything in history match this shedding of blood?

In Psalm 94, the psalmist calls upon the Lord to judge the world for its wickedness, which will reach its complete fulfillment during the Tribulation. Notice what he wrote just before emphasizing that the Lord will “wipe out” the wicked (94:23);

They gather together against the life of the righteous, / And condemn innocent blood (94:21, NKJV)

“Innocent blood” is an accurate translation of the Hebrew and most certainly includes the murder of innocents in the womb.

Yes, wars and killings have marked all of human history. But there’s an added viciousness in the killing of innocents and randomness of the murders that heralds the rapid approach of the Tribulation. What I have cited is just a sampling of the worldwide violence that typifies our day. It’s everywhere in numbers never seen before in history.

THE EXPLOSION OF ANTISEMITISM

Second, the surge of antisemitism across the world is not only a sign of the last days, but also illustrates the telling difference between our day and the time following WW2.

Not long after Hamas’ October 7, 2023, brutal massacre of Israelis and other nationals, we saw rallies in capital cities around the world in support of Hamas and the Palestinians. The UN has repeatedly condemned Israel’s response to Hama’s barbarism, which only differed from the Nazi concentration camps in numbers and the methods used to torture, maim, and kill.

I don’t recall reading about marches in support of the Nazis in the aftermath of WW2. Back then, Hollywood and the news media portrayed them as villains of the worse sort. Today, in the wake of equally vicious acts, if not more so, Hamas enjoys the sympathy of the news media as well as that of people all over the world.

As seen in the graphic above from Fox News, there were 9,354 attacks against the Jewish people in just the U.S. during 2024. Let that sink in, the 942 antisemitic attacks in America during 2015 were bad enough and horrific, but 9,354 violent acts in one year is over-the-top satanic and surely indicative of last days in which we live.

Expert in international policy, Dr. Casey Babb, recently wrote, “If you aren't aware of what's going on right now, let me break it down for you. Jews worldwide are being hunted down and killed.” He then listed eleven incidents of antisemitic violence that occurred during just the first three days of Hanukah.

The Bible tells us that the Day of the Lord will be a time of much suffering and death for the Jewish people. What we see today is nothing less than Satan prepping the mindset of the masses to accept what’s coming after our departure.

The verse speaks directly to the day in which we live. It assumes many things that couldn’t possibly be true unless Israel was once again a nation, yet still in unbelief. The words Jesus spoke on this occasion also provide us with insight into what we will see happen in the Middle East in the coming year.

The setting was the Mount of Olives where the Lord answered the disciples’ inquiry regarding the “end of the age” and “the sign of your [Jesus’] coming” (Matthew 24:3). A proper examination of Christ’s response would fill a large book, but for my purposes here, I want to focus on Matthew 24:15.

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand).”

In this verse, Jesus refers to the prophecy recorded in Daniel 9:27 depicting what will happen at the midpoint of the seventieth week of years, which God designated to fulfill His purposes for the Jewish people and Jerusalem (Daniel 9:24-27). There the Lord told His prophet of a coming prince who would establish a covenant with “the many,” but negate the agreement by defiling a future Jewish temple, which He described as the “abomination of desolation.”

THE ASSUMPTIONS

To better understand this prophecy fits with our day, we will look at all the events Jesus assumed would happen in order for this future world leader, whom we identify as antichrist, to desecrate the temple.

First, He assumed that Israel would once again become a sovereign nation. Until 1948, there has never been a time since Jesus spoke these words when it could’ve entered into such an agreement with a world leader. Rome occupied and dominated Israel at the time and in AD 70, a Roman general destroyed Jerusalem as well as the Second Temple.

The second assumption inherent in Jesus’ words is that another temple would exist halfway into the seven-year agreement. As we look at Israel today, is it possible that Israel will build a temple in the next few years complete with animal sacrifices? More than that, it seems certain to happen at some point. Advanced reparations for its construction and animal sacrifices are already in place and once Israel has access to the Temple Mount, these things will quickly become a reality.

Third, Jesus assumed the future nation of Israel would exist in unbelief such that its leaders would enter into what Isaiah termed “a covenant with death” (Isaiah 28:14-18) rather than trust the Lord for their security. Today, we readily understand how they might opt for a period of sustained peace following the ongoing years of warfare and nonstop threats against the nation’s existence.

Lastly, Jesus anticipated that the Jewish people alive at the time of antichrist would be aware of His warnings in Matthew 24:15ff and that many of them would flee just as He told them to do. Why else would He provide the Jewish people with such instructions if those living at the time would not be aware of them? Today, there’s a strong Gospel presence in Israel along with a widespread awareness of Bible prophecy. Many of the Jews will remember Jesus’ words when they see antichrist in the Holy Place.

Today, we understand how television and satellite technology will enable the entire world to look at the dead bodies of the two witnesses and thus enable people all over the world to watch their resurrection and ascent into Heaven (Revelation 11:1-12). With news networks broadcasting 24/7, it’s not difficult to imagine the constant attention they will receive after antichrist kills them.

But there’s also something quite remarkable in Jesus’ warnings to the Jewish people in the aftermath of antichrist’s defilement of the temple. He implies they will have instantaneous access to it as it occurs.

The Lord earlier said that in the last days people would “hear of wars and rumors of wars” (Matthew 24:6). When it comes to the “abomination of desolation,” however, He says, “When you see” (24:15). These are not just people sitting in front of their televisions, but they could be “on the housetop” and “in the field” (24:16-18). Yet somehow those scattered about Judea at the time will “see” antichrist in the temple and thus recognize their need to run for their lives without stopping to even grab their coats or return to their main living quarters.

Is it any wonder that Jesus added, “whoever reads, let him understand?” His words were meant for a much different time than the first century AD; one the disciples couldn’t possibly have understood. How could they comprehend a camera recording live events inside the Temple for all to see in real time regardless of their location?

Jesus’ exhortation for the Jewish people living at this time to flee suggests they will immediately know what antichrist has done because they will “see” it happen. Could it be that Jesus foresaw the smartphones of today that would provide them with this instant access to events on the Temple Mount? Perhaps they will be watching a planned event only to recoil in horror at what they see happen in the Holy Place.

We readily understand how modern technology will make possible many events recorded in the book of Revelation. But here in the Olivet Discourse, Jesus alludes to a time when the Jewish people, regardless of their location, will witness events as they unfold in the Temple.

A little bit later in the discourse, Jesus again used the phrase “when you see” in a way that applies to all believers watching Israel blossom in these last days:

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.” (Matthew 24:32-34)

The fig tree is a symbol of Israel and what we see happening in the Middle East tells us we most certainly live in the last moments before Jesus appears to whisk us away to Heaven. Will this happen in 2026? I don’t know, but I pray that it does. We do recognize that we live in the season of Jesus’ return for us and based upon all that we see happening with Israel, it’s possible we will not see 2027 before He comes for us.
