Jack Hibbs Issues a Warning Many Churches Won’t Touch

Pastor Jack Hibbs, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, opened a recent teaching on Bible prophecy with a simple but forceful claim: Scripture explains the world more clearly than modern headlines, artificial intelligence or political analysis ever could.

Teaching from John 14:29, Hibbs said Jesus’ words establish the purpose of prophecy itself. “I’m telling you something that’s going to come,” Hibbs paraphrased, “and when it does come to pass, you may believe.”

That pattern, he argued, is the foundation of biblical prophecy: prediction followed by fulfillment, producing faith.

Prophecy as Evidence, Not Speculation

Hibbs defined Bible prophecy as the study of God’s revealed future, commonly called eschatology, but emphasized it should be understood as evidence rather than guesswork.

“The God of the Bible claims to know the future in advance,” Hibbs said. “When God says, ‘Watch the future, this is what’s going to happen,’ and then it happens thousands of years later, should you not sit up and take notice?”

He argued fulfilled prophecy answers one of Christianity’s most common challenges: whether God exists at all. According to Hibbs, Scripture presents prophecy as God speaking from outside time and space, validating His Word through history.

“Bible prophecy proves the existence of God,” he said, adding that fulfilled prophecy produces confidence in what has not yet occurred.

Reading Headlines Through a Biblical Lens

Hibbs encouraged listeners to interpret current events through what he called a “biblical prophetic worldview,” rather than reacting emotionally to news cycles.

He pointed repeatedly to Israel, which he described as the most frequently mentioned nation in Scripture. Developments involving Iran, identified biblically as Persia, were cited as examples of why prophecy remains relevant, though Hibbs stressed that certain prophetic events have not yet occurred.

“It hasn’t happened yet,” he said of Ezekiel 38, which describes a future invasion of Israel. “But what’s happening right now should make us pay attention.”

Hibbs cautioned against drawing premature conclusions while still urging discernment rooted in Scripture rather than speculation.

Technology, Deception and the Book of Revelation

Addressing artificial intelligence, Hibbs referenced Revelation 13, which describes an “image” empowered to identify those aligned with a future global system.

“That’s my opinion,” Hibbs said, clarifying that his view connects modern technology with biblical warnings about deception in the last days. “Jesus said there would be deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.”

He emphasized that Scripture anticipates both technological advancement and spiritual deception, requiring believers to remain grounded in biblical truth.

Why Avoiding Prophecy Weakens the Church

Hibbs warned that neglecting Bible prophecy leaves Christians vulnerable to confusion and false teaching.

“Christians that don’t know Bible prophecy are like people who are anemic,” he said. “They can’t fight back. They can’t discern truth from error.”

He compared ignoring prophecy to attempting to live on a partial Bible, arguing that prophecy is essential to spiritual maturity and discernment.

Revelation’s Built-In Road Map

One of the most practical elements of Hibbs’ teaching focused on Revelation 1:19, which he said provides the book’s complete outline.

“Write the things which you have seen, the things which are, and the things which will take place after this,” Hibs quoted, explaining that the verse divides Revelation into past (chapter 1), present (chapters 2–3) and future (chapters 4–22).

He encouraged believers to apply this framework broadly, sorting prophetic passages into past, present or future categories to better understand Scripture’s unfolding narrative.

Prophecy Meant to Prepare, Not Panic

Hibbs concluded by stressing that prophecy is intended to steady believers, not frighten them.

“God gave us Bible prophecy to prepare us, not to scare us,” he said.

According to Hibbs, understanding prophecy anchors Christians in hope, enabling them to face global uncertainty with confidence rooted in God’s proven Word.

Jesus’ words in Matthew 24 were in response to a question His disciples asked in verse 3: “What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” Think they were sorry they asked? The disciples faced intense persecution for sharing Jesus’ message with the world. All but one of them, John, died a martyr’s death.

But the persecution didn’t stop with them. And it didn’t end in the first century. Some scholars estimate that more Christians were killed in the twentieth century than in all previous centuries combined.

Christians have been persecuted more than any other religious group. And it’s not just confined to atheistic or Islamic countries. We’re starting to see more and more persecution in the United States. We see it in the woke ideology that has infiltrated our education system. We see it permeating the military. We see it being spread by the media. I describe it as an “ABC culture”: Anything But Christ.

When you stand up and say, “I’m a Christian,” you can expect pushback, resistance, and even persecution. Paul said, “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). That’s a promise of God we rarely claim.

Yet Jesus said the closer we get to the time of His coming, the more His people will be persecuted. So how should we respond? First, remember that it’s not us people hate; it’s Jesus. And if people see Jesus when they look at us, it means we’re doing something right.

Second, consider the times. Jesus said persecution will intensify as we draw closer and closer to the time of His return. If you notice an uptick in the mistreatment of believers, look up. Don’t get discouraged. Remind yourself that something amazing is on the way. Our suffering is temporary; our glorious reward for faithfulness is eternal.

Third, pray for believers who are facing persecution. Ask God to give them the strength and endurance to persevere. Ask Him to help persecuted Christians remain faithful in their mission and not abandon their faith.

Staying strong in the midst of persecution is one of the most powerful testimonies a Christian can offer. It says to unbelievers, “Here’s something worth suffering for. Here’s something more important than my life.” So as persecution increases in the last days, so do the opportunities to impact other people’s lives with our response. The challenge of Christians is to look beyond our own suffering and persecution to see the good that God is bringing from it in the lives of others.

The Houthis' growing strength is no longer merely a local Yemeni problem, but an expanding regional threat with no meaningful force to restrain it. The lack of an effective response from Saudi Arabia's allies to the Houthi escalation illustrates this clearly. Within just a few months, the confrontation has evolved from tribal unrest and local fighting into a direct campaign against Saudi Arabia, including attacks on energy facilities, a maritime blockade and the seizure of strategic areas around Mokha, Mayun Island and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, all while demonstrating significant operational capabilities.

From Israel's perspective, if the Houthis consolidate their hold on the area, Iran will gain another lever of pressure against Saudi Arabia, the US and the global trade and energy system, without having to deploy its own military forces in the region. Through its proxies, the regime in Tehran could thus wield pressure from both sides of the Arabian Peninsula over two of the world's most sensitive shipping routes: the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb.

Broadly speaking, Israel has an interest in supporting actors seeking to weaken the Houthis. There is considerable logic in promoting a regional coalition comprising Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Somaliland and other partners in the Red Sea region that would coordinate its response to the Houthi threat. At this stage, however, and amid high tensions on several fronts simultaneously, direct Israeli military intervention may not be the right course. There is, however, another option: deepen intelligence assistance to Saudi Arabia through the US, strengthen regional coordination and begin preparing now for the possibility of another round of fighting against the Houthis in the future.

Israel should use the current lull in its campaign against the Houthis to develop indirect operational capabilities that would complement its air campaign. Such capabilities could add significant depth to the threat Israel poses to the Houthis and broaden its range of responses beyond strikes on infrastructure from the air and sea.

These capabilities could make it possible to strike leadership hubs, centers of military knowledge and expertise, command-and-control systems and weapons infrastructure. Such action would make clear to the Houthis that Yemen's geographic distance from Israel does not grant them immunity from direct attacks on their capabilities and leadership structures. The Houthis themselves are developing capabilities to carry out raids against Israel. In light of one of the lessons of Oct. 7, Israel must not wait for those capabilities to mature. These threats must be taken extremely seriously, and Israel must prepare proactively and in advance to thwart them.

or a proxy war with Russia, and the West supplying Israel with bombs and bullets as its ethnic cleansing programme continues to appal an appallingly quiescent world, the end of free speech, huge national and personal debts, taxes that never stop rising, digital currency and pay by App, the end of cash and the freedom it gives, digital ID giving controlled access to every public facility, smart meters which enable the authorities to cut off your electricity, gas or water if you misbehave, a ban on real fires, epidemics of obesity and mental illness, the destruction of culture and the abandonment of history and a planned global euthanasia programme, heavily promoted by a compliant and unquestioning media, which is designed to encourage the poor, the sick and the mentally ill to sign up for doctor assisted suicide – these are all signs and symptoms of the pressure to force us into the Great Reset.

We are living in an unusual and exceptional time of turmoil with everything happening all at once. But it is clear to those with opened eyes that nothing is happening by accident. It is all planned.

Those promoting Net Zero and the Great Reset have been working towards the manufactured chaos we are living through for some years now. They need to terrify people. They need to bring in new laws. And they need to kill a lot of people.

The wars they are encouraging will kill millions. Millions will die of the cold and of starvation. The killing programmes are well underway. Euthanasia is, in a way, their final solution. And they are going to find ways (such as impoverishing people, terrifying people, reducing services such as health care, closing hospices, making painkillers unavailable) in order to push people into signing up to the euthanasia programmes. They are already using euthanasia to kill people who are depressed or poor (see Jack King’s book ‘They want to kill us: Here’s how and why’ if you find this difficult to believe).

And now the screw is being tightened even tighter, and most people are either unaware of the threat or they are too busy worrying over trivial side issues to notice what is happening.

We all need to make plans. We need to think about how we’ll live in a world where everything is going to get much worse in every way.

We need to be aware that our governments are fast running out of money and that the Nanny State we may have been encouraged to trust is going to betray us.

Can we stop their Net Zero plans and the drive into King Charles III’s beloved Great Reset?

They want to turn our world upside down, inside out and back to front. Whatever lies we are told by politicians and journalists, this is what we can look forward to:

The US has stepped up military activity around the Strait of Hormuz, with reconnaissance aircraft spotted near Iranian territory and additional fighter jets reportedly deployed to the region, RIA Novosti reported on Thursday, citing sources.

US reconnaissance aircraft were observed overnight near the Iranian islands of Qeshm and Hengam, while aircraft and small drones were also seen over Kermanshah Province in western Iran, according to people familiar with the matter.

Washington has also reportedly transferred 12 F-16 fighter jets from Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany to the region, the source said, adding that the increased activity could signal a possible escalation.

The reported activity comes as oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has risen sharply. TankerTrackers, a vessel-tracking service, said this week that crude flows across the US Navy blockade line have doubled in less than a month to around 13 million barrels per day (bpd). It estimated actual Hormuz transits at about 10.35 million bpd after excluding exports from Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates and Mina al-Fahal in Oman.

The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy routes, has been a major flashpoint since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran in February. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) moved to restrict shipping through the waterway following the initial strikes, while Washington later imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports. Oil flows through the strait fell from 21.6 million bpd in the final quarter of 2025 to 4.9 million in the second quarter of this year, according to US government data.

The tracking service attributed the increase partly to Saudi Arabia redirecting exports through the Persian Gulf following disruption to its East-West pipeline, as well as to daytime Hormuz crossings under additional US Central Command protection.

The East-West pipeline carries Saudi crude to the Red Sea, allowing exports to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. It had been transporting around 4 million bpd after the US-Israeli war on Iran disrupted shipping through the strait, but was shut earlier this month following drone attacks that Riyadh said originated in Iraq, where Iranian-backed armed groups allegedly operate.

Saudi Arabia restarted the pipeline at a reduced rate this week, although a return to normal flows could reportedly take several weeks.

The developments follow renewed threats from US President Donald Trump against Tehran. Addressing the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump said he faced a “big decision” between reaching an agreement with Iran and “annihilat[ing] the Islamic Republic.” He also called on other countries to join Washington in economically isolating Iran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded by saying Tehran remained open to talks but would not negotiate under pressure.

US and Iranian officials also resumed contact on the sidelines of the General Assembly, with Tehran conveying its conditions for peace through Qatari mediators. They include an end to hostilities and the US naval blockade, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and arrangements for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei reportedly told Iranian state television that Tehran would not resume negotiations with Washington until its conditions are met.
