Trump says US ‘obliterated’ military targets in strike on key Iranian oil hub: 'Powerful bombing raids'

Trump says US ‘obliterated’ military targets in strike on key Iranian oil hub: 'Powerful bombing raids'

President Donald Trump said Friday that the U.S. had carried out a bombing raid on Iran’s Kharg Island, a strategically vital island in the Persian Gulf that serves as the country’s largest oil terminal and a crucial hub for its crude exports.

"Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The island, located roughly 35 miles off Iran’s Bushehr province in the country’s southwest, is about the size of New York City’s Central Park, but carries huge importance for Iran’s economy.

It has a loading capacity of about 7 million barrels per day, and roughly 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports pass through it. Most of those exports are shipped to China and India, underscoring the island’s importance not only to Iran’s energy trade but also to broader global oil markets.

That makes Kharg Island one of Iran’s most sensitive and strategically important pieces of infrastructure. Any military action there could have consequences well beyond Iran, raising the risk of disruptions to crude flows, shipping traffic and energy prices across the region.

Trump said the U.S. had deliberately avoided targeting the island’s oil infrastructure, while warning that could change if Iran moved to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

"Our Weapons are the most powerful and sophisticated that the World has ever known but, for reasons of decency, I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island. However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision," he added

The latest revelation comes as the widening conflict in the Middle East rattles global energy markets and raises fresh fears about the security of the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important oil chokepoint.

The Strait of Hormuz, a narrow passage between Iran the United Arab Emirates and Oman, carries roughly 20 million barrels of oil a day and about one-fifth of the global supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). When conflict flares in the region, even the threat of disruption can rattle markets because so much of the world’s energy moves through that single corridor.

That threat is already rippling through energy markets.

This week, benchmark oil prices punched back above $100 a barrel for the first time since 2022, underscoring how quickly geopolitical shocks can ripple through the energy complex.

That jump is showing up at the pump. As oil prices climb, gasoline and diesel prices are rising fast — especially diesel, which can move quickly because it’s tied closely to freight and industrial demand.

On Friday, the national average for regular gasoline rose to about $3.63 a gallon, according to AAA.  Diesel prices have also jumped, with the national average up $1.23 to $4.89 a gallon.

As energy costs accelerate, the White House is weighing steps to safeguard commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and leaning on emergency stockpiles to try to cushion the blow.

Before boarding Air Force One for Mar-a-Lago late Friday, Trump told reporters the U.S. Navy may start escorting tankers through the strait "very soon."

Asked about the risk of disruptions, Trump said Monday evening he would keep the route open and threatened retaliation if Iran tried to interfere.

"I will not allow a terrorist regime to hold the world hostage and attempt to stop the globe's oil supply. And if Iran does anything to do that, they'll get hit at a much, much harder level," Trump said during a press conference in Florida.

"In the long run, oil supplies will be dramatically more secure without the threat of Iranian ships, drones, missiles," he added.

Pentagon to move more Marines, extra warships to Middle East amid Iran tensions

The Pentagon ordered the deployment of a Marine expeditionary unit and additional warships to the Middle East amid Operation Epic Fury, according to a report.

Citing unnamed U.S. defense officials, the Wall Street Journal on Friday reported that Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth approved a request from U.S. Central Command (CENCOM) for "an amphibious ready group" and its Marine expeditionary unit -- which usually involves multiple warships and 5,000 Marines -- to help U.S. forces already operating in the region as the conflict with Iran continues.

Among the units being redirected is the Japan-based USS Tripoli and its embarked Marines, the outlet noted.

The move comes nearly two weeks into the conflict, as Iranian attacks on strategic waterways and allied forces have intensified.

American warships and Marines have been moving toward the Middle East amid heightened Iranian strikes on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping corridor, which have disrupted commercial traffic and strained energy markets.

President Donald Trump and members of his administration have said the objective is to neutralize threats posed by Iran's military capabilities, including missile and naval assets, as part of a broader coalition response.

"We are totally destroying the terrorist regime of Iran, militarily, economically, and otherwise," Trump wrote, in part, on Truth Social early Friday morning.
"Iran's Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer, missiles, drones and everything else are being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth," he added. "We have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time -- watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today. They’ve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honor it is to do so!"

Hegseth on Friday said Iran's leadership is "desperate and hiding." He added that the nation's new supreme leader is "wounded and likely disfigured."

As for the U.S., six crew members of a KC-135 refueling aircraft supporting operations against Iran were killed after their plane crashed in western Iraq, the U.S. military said.

CENTCOM, which oversees the Middle East, said the crash followed an unspecified incident involving two aircraft in “friendly airspace,” and that the other plane landed safely.

The crash brings the U.S. death toll amid the conflict to at least 13 service members, seven of whom were killed in combat. About 140 U.S. service members have been injured, including eight severely, the Pentagon said earlier this week.

The Iranian ballistic missile fired at central Israel this evening carried a cluster bomb warhead, according to footage and initial military assessments.

There are no immediate reports of injuries in the attack, the sixth since midnight, which set off sirens across central Israel.

Another cluster warhead — more than two dozen explosions heard — south of Tel Aviv now.

“Watch What Happens to These Deranged Scumbags Today!” – President Trump Warns Iran (Video)

President Trump went to TRUTH Social on Friday morning to warn the Iranian regime of scumbags what is about to hit them.

Trump warned the evil despots in Iran, “Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today!”

President Trump:  We are totally destroying the terrorist regime of Iran, militarily, economically, and otherwise, yet, if you read the Failing New York Times, you would incorrectly think that we are not winning.

Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer, missiles, drones and everything else are being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth.

We have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time – Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today.

They’ve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honor it is to do so!Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

And there is still no sign of life from the new Iranian replacement ruler.

The late ayatollah Khamenei was killed during the airstrikes by the US-Israeli coalition, and now it arises that his son, Mojtaba, has been chosen to be the new ‘Supreme Leader’.

However, that is not the only report going around, as it’s been widely published that Mojtaba has been gravely wounded, also by coalition airstrikes.

The news was first reported by Iranian TV, but has been subsequently picked up by the UK’s Mirror and LBC, Times of Israel, The Western Journal, among others.

With each passing day, it becomes more likely that Iran has elected a dead or incapacitated Ayatollah.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has allegedly ordered his nation to ‘weaponize the Strait of Hormuz’ in his first ‘written statement’.

But Mojtaba still hasn’t been seen, as claims are mounting that he has ‘lost a leg’ and is ‘in a coma’ as a result of injuries sustained during air strikes.

Things don’t look too good for the evil Iranian regime.

The Lesson From America's Latest Terror Attacks

Prepared, Vigilant, Unafraid: The Lesson From America's Latest Terror Attacks
PNW STAFF

In the shadow of rising tensions overseas--particularly the escalating conflict involving Iran--Americans are once again confronting a harsh reality: war abroad often fuels violence at home. The nation has witnessed a disturbing series of incidents tied to extremism and domestic terror fears.

A bar shooting in Austin by an Islamic terrorist. Two teenage ISIS sympathizers in New York attempting to detonate homemade bombs during a protest. And now two chilling attacks within hours of each other: a truck ramming and shooting at a Michigan synagogue and a terrorist-style attack at a Virginia university.

These events are sobering reminders that the threats facing America are not just thousands of miles away on distant battlefields. Sometimes they appear in our own cities, campuses, and houses of worship.

But amid the darkness, there were also powerful examples of courage--and important lessons about preparation, vigilance, and the right to defend innocent life.

The Synagogue Attack That Could Have Been Far Worse

At Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan--one of the largest Reform synagogues in the United States--a man drove a truck through the building's entrance and opened fire with a rifle. The attack happened while children were present in the synagogue's early childhood center, sending shockwaves through the community.

The attacker barreled through the entrance and down a hallway, striking a security officer in the process. Soon after, the vehicle burst into flames amid the chaos. But what could have become a horrific mass casualty event was stopped by something critically important: prepared security.

Temple Israel had invested in professional security measures, including armed personnel trained specifically for threats like this. When the attacker began firing, those security personnel engaged and stopped him before he could reach classrooms or crowded areas of the building.

All 140 children in the synagogue's preschool were safely evacuated. The injured security officer is expected to recover.

That outcome did not happen by accident.

In recent years, many synagogues and churches have taken the painful but necessary step of increasing security. Some have hired trained guards. Others have implemented volunteer security teams. In many cases, these groups work with local law enforcement and federal agencies to rehearse emergency scenarios--including active shooter and terrorist-style attacks.

Reports indicate Temple Israel's security had recently trained for such scenarios alongside law enforcement, including exercises coordinated with federal authorities. When the moment of crisis arrived, they were ready.

Preparation saved lives.

Heroes Without Weapons

Just hours earlier and hundreds of miles away, another act of terror unfolded at Old Dominion University in Virginia.

A gunman entered a classroom where Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) members were gathered. According to investigators, the attacker shouted extremist slogans before opening fire, killing an ROTC instructor and injuring others.

But again, the story did not end with the attacker.

The ROTC students--future military officers--refused to simply wait to be victims.

Despite the fact that they were not armed, several cadets rushed the shooter. During the struggle, they managed to subdue him and ultimately stop the attack by 'rendering him no longer alive' according to reports. Investigators say their actions almost certainly prevented additional deaths.
