The EU Moves To Destroy The Last Vestiges Of National Sovereignty

"Use The Momentum": The EU Moves To Destroy The Last Vestiges Of National Sovereignty

The defeat of Viktor Orban in Hungary last weekend was celebrated by many who saw the former president as establishing single-party rule in his central European nation. The irony is that this claimed victory for democracy may fuel the establishment of a global governance system that is neither democratic nor accountable to citizens.

The European Union was criticized by many for taking sides in the Hungarian election and for undermining Orban, who asserted national priorities in disputes with the EU.

No sooner had Orban conceded defeat than a jubilant European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called for the final coup de grace for national identity and sovereignty: the elimination of the ability of nations to stand against EU policies.

Orban was controversial for his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his lack of support for Ukraine. He was also accused of authoritarianism and corruption. I shared in some of those criticisms.

However, the unintended consequence of this election could be the removal of a single autocrat in favor of a global bureaucracy.

Van der Leyen helped elect the pro-EU Peter Magyar in order to remove a barrier to the EU’s ultimate exercise of power.

The EU had been squeezing Hungary over its defiance by holding back billions in funds. Despite his tough talk on negotiations with the EU, Magyar is expected by EU bureaucrats to be a suppliant, willing to fall into line with the EU agenda.

The EU Chief has reportedly already given Magyar a list of 27 demands he must meet before she will turn the spigot back on. She did not try to hide the agenda, announcing that the EU needed to “use the momentum now” to consolidate its power.

With Hungary out of the way, Von der Leyen is calling for the EU to finally do away with the last vestige of national sovereignty: the veto exercised by its member states.

Under the plan, member states would lose control of their policy and could be forced to adhere to the priorities and values of the EU majority.

The EU Chief celebrated the new day of global governance in the making:“Moving to qualified majority voting in foreign policy is an important way to avoid systemic blockages, as we have seen in the past.”

In “Rage and the Republic,” I discuss the dangers posed to the American republic this century by the rise of global governance systems like the EU. The book explores how globalists planned to gradually get nations to yield their authority to the EU — destroying national identity and sovereignty in favor of an EU bureaucracy in Brussels.

As the EU moves to kill off national sovereignty, EU commissioners are calling for a single European military command, completing a longstanding globalist goal.

Trump Demands Iran 'Release These Women' As World Tensely Awaits 2nd Pakistan Talks, US Navy Boards Another Vessel

Trump Demands Iran 'Release These Women' As World Tensely Awaits 2nd Pakistan Talks, US Navy Boards Another Vessel
TYLER DURDEN

Summary

  • Neither side wants to appear 'weak' by flying to Pakistan first without the other side having already clearly committed. Trump warns: 'Expect...bombs' & urges Tehran "release women" said to be on death row.

  • Iran has informed Pakistan it is sending a delegation, but still no sign or confirmation that the delegation is en route.

  • Overnight, US forces conducted a right-of-visit, maritime interdiction and boarding of the stateless sanctioned M/T Tifani in Indo-Pac region: CENTCOM

  • As just 12 ships have gone through Hormuz Strait in last 24 hours, Iran claims one of its own made it past the US naval blockade.

  • Trump on Truth Social early Tuesday: Iran has Violated the Cease Fire numerous times

President Trump has suddenly pivoted to making the 'humanitarian' or 'protect the protesters' argument once again. He has just written on Truth Social the following words, while sharing the below image of eight Iranian women allegedly on death row:

To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Whether these women are actually about to be hanged is another, lingering question - but clearly Trump is trying to inject some more leverage on the US side before the second-round Pakistan talks even get started.

Trump: Iran Has No Choice, 'Expect' Bombs

President Trump on Tuesday said he expects a strong outcome from negotiations with Iran, telling CNBC that "they will end up with a great deal." He added that "Iran has no choice, it is regime change no matter what you want to call it," and emphasized that the US is in "a strong negotiating position."

He said the naval blockade "has been successful" and that US forces are "in control of the Strait." Trump also stated he does not want to extend the ceasefire, saying "there is not that much time" - but added that "Iran can get itself onto good footing with a deal."

He also acknowledged that Iran has likely continued to do missile restocking in the ceasefire interim period, and also moving its remaining missile arsenal around. But Trump also claimed the US is "much more powerful than it was a few weeks again" and that CENTCOM used the ceasefire to restock as well. Importantly he also said the US is "ready to go militarily" and that the world should "expect" bombing - in the instance there's no Pakistan deal reached. And an interesting China reference:

    • Caught an Iranian ship with gifts from China, thought he had an understanding with China's Xi, says "that's alright".

Pakistan Talks: Timeline Still Up in the Air

Who will fly to Islamabad first? Al Jazeera comments on the emerging diplomatic standoff before actual diplomacy even gets started, amid the continued tit-for-tat threats of potential escalation on the battlefield:

Pakistan is ready to host the talks. They are planning for them to take place on Wednesday at the highest level. But the White House has been very tight-lipped about when JD Vance will be leaving Washington.

What appears to be going on is the US trying to protect itself from embarrassment.

If it is to send its team, which ends up sitting here in Islamabad without Iran showing up, that would be a huge embarrassment. As a result, there now appears to be a game between the US and Iran over who is going to get on their plane and fly here first.

Per Bloomberg at about 4am US time: "Iran’s state-run TV denies unspecified media reports that an Iranian delegation has departed for or arrived in Pakistan for negotiations with the US." Latest:

Al Jazeera reports: Mediators received confirmation of US VP Vance and Iran's Ghalifab's arrival in Islamabad at dawn Wednesday to lead talks.

At the same time, per WSJ, Iran has informed regional mediators that it will send a delegation to Islamabad after for days of repeatedly refusing to commit to a new round of negotiations. However, there's not been official confirmation, only signaling, with Pakistani officials insisting the Iranians will be there. And yet, it was only on Monday that Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said that there was no plan for a second round of negotiations.

But if all goes well, Vice President Vance is expected to depart for Pakistan today, leading the delegation which includes Kushner and Witkoff. As a reminder, on Monday President Trump said "lots of bombs" will be unleased on Iran if there is no deal, and also given the White House doesn't plan to extend the ceasefire. The key issues of Iran's nuclear program and the Hormuz Strait loom large. Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has at the same time warned: "we do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats, and over the past two weeks we have prepared to reveal new cards on the battlefield".

Sam Altman’s World ID Expands Biometric Identity Checks

Sam Altman’s World ID Expands Biometric Identity Checks

A biometric identity system built on iris scans is expanding into mainstream online services while its backers outline new ways to tie verified identity to revenue generation.

The initiative, led by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, introduced its standalone World ID app in public beta on April 17. The app separates identity management from the existing World App crypto wallet and is described as a tool to “verify with platforms and services, manage your authenticators, store credentials and control how your World ID is used.”

The rollout comes as the organization reports more than 18 million people across 160 countries have already been verified using its Orb devices, which scan a person’s iris to create a unique identifier.

Deployment of Orb devices is increasing, with additional coverage planned across New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. An “Orb-on-demand” service is also being introduced, allowing individuals to schedule iris scans at locations of their choosing.

This approach extends biometric collection into more varied settings. Greater accessibility may encourage uptake, though it also increases the number of environments where highly sensitive biological data is captured.

At a recent event, the organization described its broader ambition as embedding its verification tech across the internet, stating the goal is to get its “proof-of-human” system into “every website and app” on the open internet.

A wider push toward digital ID checks

The expansion aligns with a broader movement across the tech sector toward routine identity verification. Platforms are introducing checks framed around safety, fraud prevention, and authenticity, gradually normalizing the idea that access to services may require proof of identity rather than anonymous or pseudonymous participation.

More: The Age Verification Con

World’s model places biometric verification at the forefront of this trend. By tying a persistent identifier to a person’s physical characteristics, the system enables repeated checks across different services without requiring separate verification processes each time.

This creates a form of continuity across platforms. While presented as a way to reduce bots and misuse, it also consolidates identity into a reusable credential that can follow individuals across contexts, limiting the ability to compartmentalize online activity.

Integrations across major platforms

The system is being embedded into a range of widely used services:

  • Zoom is adding a feature called Deep Face, which compares a live video feed to a cryptographically signed image captured during Orb verification. Hosts can require participants to pass a “Deep Face Waiting Room,” and users can request checks during calls, adding a “Verified Human” badge.
  • DocuSign plans to integrate World ID into its document signing process, linking identity verification with legally binding agreements.
  • Match Group’s Tinder now offers global integration, allowing users to display a verified badge and receive temporary in-app perks.
  • Okta is developing a “Human Principal” system, with World ID used to confirm that automated actions are tied to a real person.
  • Vercel has integrated verification steps into developer workflows, allowing identity checks to be logged and audited. This integration appeared shortly before reports of a security breach affecting the platform, drawing attention to the sensitivity of systems that centralize identity data.
  • Browserbase and Exa are incorporating World ID to distinguish verified agents, offering reduced friction and additional access tied to confirmed human identities.

These integrations position identity verification as a condition for participation across services rather than a background process.

For the Leadership in Iran, Gaza and Beirut, What Is the Only Important Outcome?

For the Leadership in Iran, Gaza and Beirut, What Is the Only Important Outcome?

  • [The US president's negotiations and ceasefires] are viewed by Tehran, Gaza and Beirut as infidels trying to tell Muslims what to do. For them, such a situation is unimaginable, unacceptable, and cannot be allowed to stand.

  • To Iran's current leaders, whoever they are, if Trump carries out his threat to bomb the country's bridges and power plants on Wednesday, so be it. In the view of Iran's theocratic regime, none of that is of any importance so long as it survives, in any form, to be able to continue waging jihad (holy war) against its people, its neighbors and the West.

  • A piece of paper signed with infidels at the point of a gun is, in their eyes, nothing more than a Western fantasy.

  • They see anything short of the total destruction of their entire power base as a total victory.

  • That is why all three regimes – the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon – need to be totally dismantled if there is to be any real, permanent change of conduct in the Middle East.

  • The message should by now be clear: Iran's regime, Hamas and Hezbollah have no intention of laying down their arms, no interest in compromise, and no respect for Trump and his policies. In fact, they are telling Trump: Your initiatives and efforts are irrelevant.

  • The intractability of their leaders also aligns with their long-term ideological objective of sustaining a permanent conflict with Israel and the West.

  • Even if the Iranian regime is no longer able to continue funding, arming, and guiding its proxies, all will remain committed to armed struggle until "victory."

  • "Victory," in their terms, means first the destruction of Israel ("the Little Satan"), then taking over their oil-rich neighbors, and eventually the destruction of Europe and the United States ("the Great Satan").

  • So long as the Iranian regime – or Hamas or Hezbollah -- is able to survive, there will be no disarmament, no moderation, and no peace.

  • The repeated refusals by Iran's regime, Hamas and Hezbollah expose the failure of any policy built on engagement, incentives, or accommodation.

  • These terror entities do not interpret diplomatic overtures, off-ramps and ceasefires as goodwill. They view them instead as weakness.

  • They are right. It is, indeed, the West's fault that it allows itself to be exploited. The West not only gives these leaders time to rearm and rebuild, but worse, it grants them legitimacy and power bases throughout Europe and the United States. No one in the West even asks them to concede anything of substance.

  • Until there is a better understanding by the West of what jihadactually is -- and the uncompromising determination behind it -- every negotiation, threat and ceasefire will only lead to more terrorism and the next war.

The Globalist Threat

The Globalist Threat

The defeat of Viktor Orban in Hungary last weekend may have been celebrated in Brussels with their typical propaganda that Orban had established single-party rule in Hungary. The ultimate hypocrisy is that this claimed victory for democracy is celebrating the one-minded globalist party to govern Europe and ultimately the world, which is neither democratic nor accountable to citizens. In Hungary, people could vote for a leader, but in the EU, Ursula never stood for elections.

The people of Hungary did not vote directly for Viktor Orbán. Instead, Hungary operates under a parliamentary system, in which the Prime Minister is elected by Parliament

The Ursula Von der Leyen directed the European Union to take sides in the Hungarian election and to undermine Orban, who asserted national priorities in disputes with the EU. The EU Commission rigged the Italian elections staging a coup against Berlusconi in Italy because he too opposed centralized control.

Speaking on television, Thierry Breton, former European Commissioner for Internal Market, proclaimed that if the European Commission decides that the election in Germany was in some way influenced by foreign interference, they would seek to annul the result of the election in the same way they have just done with the Romanian election. Even the Scottish Independence vote in 2014 was rigged, The people sent in to count the votes were from the EU.

The EU has interfered in the Scottish, Italian, Romanian, Hungarian, and even the German election all to retain power. Ursula even sent in her spies to infiltrate the government. No sooner had Orban conceded defeat than a jubilant President Ursula von der Leyen called for the final coup de grace to national identity and sovereignty: the elimination of nations’ ability to stand against EU policies. So much for democracy.

Ursula did everything to overthrow Orban because of his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his lack of support for Ukraine. Ironically, the EU accused Orban of being authoritarian and corrupt, which seemed to be projecting their agenda on Orban.

Now we will see the unintended consequences of this election. Ursula interfered in the Hungarian election to elect the pro-EU Peter Magyar. He would surrender Hungary’s national dignity and render it subservient to Ursula’s dictatorial commands to achieve the EU’s ultimate exercise of authoritarian power. The EU was refusing to provide billions in funding to Hungary because Orban objected to the war in Ukraine.

Ursula has already given Magyar a list of 27 demands he must meet before she will hand over those billions. She publicly said that the EU needed to “use the momentum now” to consolidate its authoritarian power. She fails to comprehend that this authoritarianism is what will ultimately break the EU into pieces.

Ursula now has the audacity to eliminate the last vestige of national sovereignty, promising from the outset that the EU would never become tyrannical, since nothing would pass unless it was unanimous. She is pushing to eliminate the veto exercised by its member states. She wants absolute dictatorial power by eliminating member states’ control over their domestic policy, ensuring that they are forced to adhere to the priorities and values of the EU majority. This was precisely what Margaret Thatcher warned would be the outcome.

Amazingly, Ursula has flipped everything upside-down. She insists that the EU will now become a dictatorial regime no longer concerned about member state sovereignty. She has publicly stated: “Moving to qualified majority voting in foreign policy is an important way to avoid systemic blockages, as we have seen in the past.”

I have warned that centralized governments are the very reason empires, nations, and city-states have collapsed throughout history. The EU is following the same pattern, and this deliberate rigging of the Hungarian election demonstrates that it is Ursula who seeks dictatorial power – not Orban. Ursula is not just terminating national sovereignty; she is calling for a single European military command, completing a major globalist goal.

In the Peace Plan (Free Download) I wrote to present to President Putin at the request of the White House, I stated that our real enemy was NOT Russia but the EU. We have rejected the insane environmentalist and WOKE agendas of the EU that have destroyed their future and reduced its economic growth to nearly 50% of the United States, wiping out the living standards of Europeans in the years ahead.

The EU has torched the idea of free speech as part of its totalitarian agenda. Not only are member states to be stripped of a veto over centralized policies by unelected people in the halls of the EU, but the same policy is now being applied to individuals.

This is the threat to our American way of life. They seek to eliminate personal rights in the name of equality. That is why everything is headed for disaster as we head into 2032. This push for totalitarianism in the EU is inherently unstable and will ultimately collapse. We have witnessed how the EU has worked relentlessly to dismantle national sovereignty, cultural identity in its member states, and eliminate free speech. Historically, such systems always collapse as they have moved into the final stage of tyranny.

The world is under threat from this globalist agenda of ultimate power. We must take this seriously, for this is the threat of a global governance system of a one-world government posed in the backrooms and hallways from the WEF to the corridors of the EU, seeking to now infect passageways within Washington and Capitol Hill as well.

When Ursula Von der Leyen said she has the “momentum now” for the globalists, the enemy is the EU, and it seeks to spread globalism, no different from Nikita Khrushchev, who once boasted, “We will bury you” as Communism would conquer Capitalism. This is the same thing with a different label, allowing private ownership but regulating and taxing everything while exercising complete and utter control over what you say, where you live, and what you eat.
