Would the Iranian Regime Attack Israel?

Would the Iranian Regime Attack Israel?

Mourners chase away Iranian regime forces at slain protester's funeral

Watch: Mourners chase away Iranian regime forces at slain protester's funeral

As anti-regime protests entered their sixth day in Iran, a video posted online shows mourners at a funeral for a protester chasing regime forces away.

According to a witness cited by Iran International, forces from the Basij paramilitary and Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps were initially deployed at the funeral of Amirhessam Khodayarifard, a protester killed in Kuhdasht. However, mourners quickly chased them away with stones and chants.

At the same time, Iran International reported that Iranian security forces shot another protester dead during protests on Thursday in the city of Lordegan, identifying him as 22-year-old Ahmad Jalil. According to Iran International, citing sources close to the family, agents from the intelligence arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps have summoned the victim's relatives to the governor’s office, threatening not to release his body unless they give an interview blaming protesters for his death.

The report also stated that authorities have attempted to pressure and financially coerce families of those killed in recent protests, in an effort to suppress accountability and control public narratives around the deaths.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran on Friday against shooting at protesters, writing on Truth Social: "If Iran shoots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go."

Putin Envoy Blasts Zohran: Comrade Mamdani, ‘This Has Been Tried Before’

Putin Envoy Blasts Zohran: Comrade Mamdani, ‘This Has Been Tried Before’

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s envoy told New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani that his collectivist method of governing has been “done before,” saying the new leader is “doing a solid job steering the U.S. toward Communism.”

Kirill Dmitriev, chief executive officer of Russia’s $10 billion RDIF investment fund and the Kremlin’s investment envoy to America, emerged as a “key player” in negotiations on Moscow’s war in Ukraine, the Associated Press reported in November.

He took to X on Friday, the day after Mamdani’s inauguration, to share takes that garnered attention from Americans.

“We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism,” the NYC mayor said as he addressed his new constituents.

Dmitriev responded to the clip, writing, “Dear Comrade Mamdani — just a friendly reminder that this has been tried before.”

When conservative influencer Ryan Saavedra shared a screenshot of the Russian envoy’s post saying he was “dunking” on Mamdani, Dmitriev responded by blasting the “Bidenesque leftist woke world.”

“Not dunking—just observing. Comrade Mamdani is doing a solid job steering the U.S. toward Communism,” he replied. “The EU & UK are already there. Which leaves Russia as the bastion not only of traditional values—but of capitalism—in this Bidenesque leftist woke world.”

Mamdani, who took his oath on the Islamic Quran in a private ceremony early Thursday morning, also vowed to govern as a democratic socialist during his remarks.

Fellow socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also spoke during his public inauguration, saying Mamdani will usher in a “new era” for NYC.

Trump Threatens War With Iran: Iran Responds

UPDATE: IRAN RESPONDS, THREATENS AMERICAN SOLDIERS...Trump Threatens War With Iran

UPDATE: Iran has responded to Trump's comments on Truth Social...

Iranian National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani:

Trump should understand that U.S. interference in this internal matter would destabilize the entire region and damage American interests.

The American public should know this escalation was started by Trump.

They should watch over their soldiers.

President Trump overnight threatened war with Iran if shootings of protesters continue in the country. The uprising is now in its sixth day as Iranians protest economic conditions. Security forces have killed close to ten people on the ground in fights against demonstrations.

If Iran shots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their

custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your

attention to this matter! President DONALD J.TRUMP

The nationwide uprising in Iran against the religious dictatorship entered its sixth consecutive day on Friday, January 2, 2026. Sparked by a devastating economic collapse, with the national currency plummeting to historic lows against the dollar, the protests that began in the Grand Bazaar of Tehran have now engulfed the entire country. What started as an outcry against poverty and inflation has rapidly evolved into a revolution demanding the overthrow of the regime, reported the National Council of Resistance in Iran.

Tehran would consider US forces in the Middle East legitimate targets if Washington tries to intervene in Iran’s handling of the ongoing mass protests, the Iranian parliament speaker, Mohammad Ghalibaf, has warned. His words came after President Donald Trump stated that America was “locked and loaded” and could go in at any moment.

Large-scale demonstrations began in the Islamic Republic in late December when merchants in Tehran went on strike after the national currency, the rial, hit a record low. The protests quickly spread to other cities and turned political and violent.

“The disrespectful president of America should … know that … all American centers and forces across the entire region will be legitimate targets for us in response to any potential adventurism,” Ghalibaf said in a statement on X on Friday, commenting on Trump’s post on Truth Social earlier the same day.

The protests are the worst since the 2022 turmoil prompted by the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old accused of improper hijab. It triggered weeks of violent unrest, resulting in more than 200 deaths across the country and thousands of arrests.

Videos circulated online suggested that the crowds have attacked government buildings and facilities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Casualties were also reported among both the protesters and the security forces.

The US president warned that Washington could intervene if Iran “shoots and violently kills peaceful protesters.”

Foreign intelligence agents had sought to transform legitimate protests into violent urban battles, the Iranian official said, adding that those attempts were thwarted. Tehran is capable of discerning between protesters and “foreign mercenaries” and would never mistreat its people, the parliament speaker maintained.
