King Abdullah Warns Israel He Won't Let Jordan Become "The Theater Of A Regional War"

The threat of a broader Middle East-wide war looms as Israel mulls retaliation for the massive weekend Iran drone and missile attack, but so far on Tuesday regional actors are strongly signaling they want to see a return to the status quo. 

Saudi Arabia has rejected reports that its military shot down some of the inbound drones and missiles launched from Iran Saturday night. "There is no official website that published a statement about Saudi participation in intercepting attacks against Israel," Saudi government sources told Al Arabiya, after Israeli media claims circulated. 

Jordan too is seeking to present itself as a neutral power in the conflict, despite confirming over the weekend that it did shoot down some projectiles sent from Iran that flew into its airspace during the earlier attack.

A statement from Jordan's cabinet had further clarified: "Some shrapnel fell in multiple places during that time without causing any significant damage or any injuries to citizens."

On Tuesday, Jordan's King Abdullah II weighed in, saying he does not want to see his country become "the theater of a regional war" following the intercepts. 

"The king reinforced the nation's commitment to upholding its security and sovereignty above all other considerations. He stressed Jordan's aim was to safeguard its own sovereignty rather than defend Israel," according to a regional outlet.

Still, Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi had some strong words for Israel and the international community, saying external powers should stop Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from "stealing" attention away from Gaza as he mulls escalation with a retaliatory attack aimed at Tehran.

Even the Biden administration is strongly signaling to Israel that things must return to the status quo, even as threatening words continued to be issued between Tehran and Tel Aviv.

On the diplomatic front, each side is seeking to get the backing of the international community, as Al Jazeera writes:

Israel has launched a “diplomatic offensive” against Iran, calling for sanctions against the Islamic republic.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday that he has contacted 32 countries calling on them to impose sanctions against Tehran. The move comes as Israel mulls a military response to Iran’s attack on Israel.

But Iran has continually lambasted the United Nations Security Council for failing to stop the escalating conflict, given there was no formal condemnation of the initial April 1st Israeli attack on Iran's embassy in Damascus.

Iran’s first direct attack on Israel is the fault of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu first and foremost, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said.

In a televised address after a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan said it was unfair to look at last Saturday’s events in a vacuum. 

“The one chiefly responsible for the tension that gripped our hearts on the evening of April 13 is Netanyahu and his bloody administration,” he said.

“Since October 7, the Israeli government has opted for provocative moves in order to spread the fire to the entire region. The Israeli government targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus, violating international law and the Vienna Convention, and that was the last straw,” added Erdogan.

Tehran’s diplomatic mission was struck on April 1, killing seven high-ranking officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, including two generals. Israel never officially claimed responsibility for the strike, but has repeatedly bombed Syria, claiming preemptive self-defense from the Iranian presence there.

“We have seen the double-standard approach of Western countries,” Erdogan said, pointing out that only a handful of countries condemned Israel’s move, but rushed to denounce Iran’s response.

Tehran eventually launched scores of drones and missiles against targets inside Israel. The US, UK, France and Jordan helped the Israelis with air defense but some of the projectiles got through, causing unspecified damage

Erdogan also blamed Israel for the current conflict in general, saying its forces have “indiscriminately”killed tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, including people standing in line for humanitarian aid. 

“For more than 132 days, Israel has been implementing genocidal policies,” the Turkish leader claimed.

The migrant protest comes one day after pro-Palestinian groups shuttered critical infrastructure nationwide across various metro areas of the US, including the Brooklyn Bridge.

This is the exact moment when “Free Palestine” pro HAMAS terrorist supporters charged the fence next to the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday in NYC, and stormed the bridge. Many of the “protesters” got into physical altercations with NYPD and were arrested.

The risk of social instabilities nationwide is elevated as the Biden administration (through open southern borders), and a shadowy network of NGOs have facilitated the greatest invasion of illegal aliens this nation has ever seen.

Allowing millions of unvetted people from third-world countries – some of which hate the United States – as well as are accustomed to violence – are ingredients to spark a perfect storm of social unrest if Democrats don’t continue spending taxpayer funds on luxurious hotel rooms, fancy meals, and monthly stipends for illegals.

Threats of migrant unrest are a national security threat that Democrats are too embarrassed even to acknowledge because their failed policies are sparking this mess. Hours after pro-Palestinian protesters sparked chaos at Terminal 1 at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, another likely unit of the group has shuttered part of the Golden Gate Bridge. 

X account "Collin Rugg" says:

Pro-Palestine protesters have blocked the Golden Gate Bridge just hours after another group shut down lanes at Chicago O'Hare airport. 

The protest reportedly started in Oakland where they blocked lanes and chained themselves to barrels. 

Now, all southbound direction lanes of the Golden Gate Bridge are blocked causing miles of traffic. 

Protesters say the protests are a part of a "worldwide economic blockade in solidarity with Palestine." 

These pro-Palestinian groups are running around the country, causing chaos and disruption to critical infrastructure, such as airports and bridges. This reminds us of when the communist group Black Lives Matter sparked chaos during Covid. 

Who are these pro-Palestinian protesters? And who are they being funded by? 

Well, there are concerns that a little-known international organization called Samidoun could be behind the latest demonstrations shutting down American infrastructure. The Israeli government declared Samidoun a terrorist organization in 2021.

"They support terrorism, and they want to gain public opinion — support — for terrorism," Yossi Kuperwasser, the former chief of the research division in the Israel Defense Forces' military intelligence unit, recently said. 

CBS News says "Organizers were seeking to disrupt Boeing's operations, because the company sells weapons to Israel, and to demand an end to the US government's arming of Israel." 

Earlier this month, a pro-Palestinian group attacked at least one Western defense company in the UK that makes critical components for F-35 stealth fighter jets.

It's Monday morning. Don't these protesters have jobs? Unless they are paid by shadowy groups or NGOs to create chaos.

Israel will choose the time and place to respond to this weekend’s Iranian drone and missile attack while working with the United States to build a global and regional alliance against Tehran, says war cabinet Minister Benny Gantz.

“Iran is a global and regional problem, and also a threat to Israel. Therefore the world should act against it militarily and impose sanctions on it in order to stop its aggression,” the former IDF chief of staff says on stage at a conference organized by the Israel Hayom daily newspaper.

“I discussed this with senior officials in the American administration in the last day, and Israel will work together with them to promote this,” he continues.

“In this context, promoting the normalization processes, which will create the strategic reversal in the region against the Iranian axis, will serve that purpose. Israel will act out of strategic wisdom, and will respond in the place, time and manner it chooses. And this is not the place to elaborate,” he says.

Turning to the issue of the war in Gaza, Gantz says that the return of the hostages “is not only moral duty of the first order, but a leading strategic objective in the war,” and promises to continue working to bring them home.

On the matter of ultra-Orthodox enlistment, he says that talks are ongoing and rejects the idea of a “political compromise” that would protect yeshiva students’ exemptions as harming Israeli security.

German FM says she will fly to Israel today in effort to prevent ‘escalation’

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock says she will fly to Israel today to help deescalate the tense situation after Iran’s weekend attack and express Germany’s support for Israel.

She calls on all sides to prevent the conflict from spreading to other countries in the region and for new sanctions against Iran.

IDF spokesman says Iran won’t get off ‘scot-free’ after drone, missile attack

The chief IDF spokesman says that Iran will not get off “scot-free” after the Islamic Republic launched an unprecedented wave of missiles and drones at Israel over the weekend.

“We cannot stand still from this kind of aggression, Iran will not get [off] scot-free with this aggression,” IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari tells reporters at Julis military base while displaying the remains of an intercepted missile.

“We will respond in our time, in our place, in the way that we will choose,” he adds.

Hezbollah takes responsibility for drone attack on north, claims to hit Iron Dome battery

The Hezbollah terror group claims responsibility for launching explosive-laden drones at northern Israel earlier. Three people were lightly wounded in the attack.

In a statement, Hezbollah claims that it targeted an Iron Dome battery near Beit Hillel, a small farming community, and that members of its crew were killed and wounded.

Hezbollah has made similar claims in recent months, which have been dismissed by the IDF as empty boasts.

The IDF said it was investigating why sirens didn’t sound during the attack.
