We are at this moment very near the beginning of that time, at the end of which everyone will be gathered into the Valley of Jehoshaphat–the killing field of Armageddon.

As Joel declares, we now see wickedness growing daily—even hourly. It is indeed an exponential growth of evil directed primarily at God’s prescribed order of things for planet earth.

Armies of the world, particularly those of nations primary to prophetic fulfillment, have already turned pruninghooks and ploughshares into swords and spears that are the incredibly powerful instruments of modern warfare. They have awakened the men of war and gathered them, as witnessed by Russia’s threatened invasion of Ukraine and China’s voracious glances at Taiwan. The world is, to any observer with a rational eye for developments, preparing to make war.

It is just a matter of time until the multitudes will gather to oppose God and storm toward His touchstone to humanity, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. They will at first rage against one another, each wanting to make that satanic prize–Jerusalem and Mount Moriah—their conquest.

Paul the apostle says the Restrainer will hold back the assaults of evil and wickedness until He is taken out of the way.

For a long time, I have warned that the United States is not mentioned in the end-times biblical scenario. That means this nation’s power and prestige will fall into a dramatic decline at some point as it gets closer to the tribulation. Does that mean the followers of Christ should give up, hunker down in saferooms while quietly awaiting the rapture? No. There remains a great deal to pray for, hope for, and work toward.

 

But before we talk about hope, we need to understand the situation. This nation stands in grave danger. Time and again our leaders make bad decisions, then — surprise! — wrong decisions bring about unwanted results.

 

Look at the economy. Our economy staggers under the burden of government overspending. What do our leaders do about it? They spend more. It is as if they are on a ship sinking by the bow. They discover that there is a hole in the bow. The problem should be obvious. There is a hole. Therefore, repair the hole. Otherwise, the ship will sink entirely.

 

But this ship is run by elected officials. With the boat strongly tilted toward the bow, the electorate — the ship’s passengers — begin to complain. The tilting deck hinders their comfort. The ship’s leaders want to be reelected, so they go into action — not repairing the breach — but trying to level the slanted deck. The best way to level up the deck would be to repair the hole and bail out the water. But they prefer something easier.

 

Someone says, “Let’s knock a hole in the stern of the ship so that the water will come from both sides evenly. The deck will become level, and the passengers will be happy.” The others cheer. They see this as a stupendous idea. After all, it’s much easier to create another hole than it is to repair the one they have. So, they knock a hole in the stern to balance out the hole in the bow.

 

By fixing the wrong problem, they double the real problem. The ship begins to sink twice as fast, albeit with a slightly more level deck. The ship’s leaders base their reelection campaigns on the fact that the deck is not as tilted as it used to be. They get reelected. Then, both the crew and passengers descend to the ocean floor on a ship with an almost level deck.

 

The problem with inflation is spending. An increase in spending will not repair that. The problem with immigration is a porous border. Further opening the border will not fix it. Fake news will not be solved by more lies. Drug abuse will not be solved by more legalization of dangerous drugs. Crime will not be solved by letting criminals off the hook. And, if anyone is crazy enough to want World War III, I can tell you the best way to achieve that goal — appease those who threaten World War III. Weakness draws aggression like sugar draws flies.

 

A moral freefall underlies all these problems. Breaking down even more of our moral foundation will only make matters worse. Yet, that’s what our society continues to do.

 

As always, we find our hope in the grace of Jesus Christ. The United States can have another Great Awakening. Millions can still turn to Jesus. I believe that would hold off America’s fall until after the rapture. Better yet, all those millions get to go to heaven! So, don’t give up on the United States. Don’t stop hoping, and don’t stop praying. Work to make things better. Have faith that as you do His will, God is always on your side.

Moscow “understands perfectly well” who is behind Sunday’s deadly strike on the city of Sevastopol in Russia’s Crimea, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said, vowing Russian retaliation.

The Ukrainian attack carried out with US-supplied ATACMS missiles killed at least four people, among them two children, and injured more than 150, according to local officials. Four missiles were intercepted by air defenses, while a fifth deviated from its trajectory and detonated its cluster warhead over the busy Black Sea beach. As a result, the falling fragments of cluster munitions led to numerous civilian casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry stated on Sunday. 

“We see … an absolutely barbaric missile attack in Crimea. We understand perfectly well who is behind this … who is aiming these absolutely technically complex missiles at the targets,” Peskov told reporters during a press briefing on Monday. 

“You should ask my colleagues in Europe, and above all in Washington, ask the press secretaries there why their governments are killing Russian children. Just ask them this question,” Peskov told the journalists in attendance.

He went on to warn that “of course, the direct involvement of the United States in hostilities that result in Russian civilians being killed [will] have consequences. What exactly, time will tell,” he said, recalling remarks by President Vladimir Putin that Moscow has considered similarly arming the adversaries of Western nations as a response to the supplying of weapons to Ukraine.

Moscow has placed the blame for Sunday’s attack primarily with Washington, accusing it of enabling the “premeditated terrorist missile attack.” The targets for these US-provided missiles are assigned to Ukrainian troops by American specialists, based on their own intelligence data, the Defense Ministry stated.

But millions of migrants with humanitarian parole, refugee or asylum status are eligible for benefits that would bring them to the offices where voter registration takes place.

Commenting on the terrorist attacks in Russia’s Dagestan, Ritter said they were "deliberately designed to disrupt the civil life of the Russian Federation". He highlighted that the CIA has historically made attempts to “engender a split between the Muslim and non-Muslim segments of Russian society” and failed.

“That effort failed and the effort in Dagestan will fail, too, but it doesn't absolve the parties involved of their guilt in launching what is a direct assault on the Russian Federation,” Ritter insisted.

But observers have questioned Israel’s ability to challenge Hezbollah, one of the most heavily armed non-state groups in the world. The country was widely judged to have lost its 2006 war with the Palestinian resistance group, which has grown more powerful in the years since. Hezbollah is estimated to possess some 150,000 rockets and missiles, which it is able to procure much more cheaply than Israel’s US-provided armaments.

Joint Chiefs of Staff head Charles Q. Brown warned on Monday that the US may not be able to help defend Israel against an all-out war with Hezbollah in the same way that it stepped in during the Iran drone attack in April.

Brown, a US Air Force general, also said that Iran “would be more inclined to support Hezbollah."

While the Islamic Republic supports Hamas, General Brown said that Tehran would stand more firmly behind Hezbollah, “particularly if they felt that Hezbollah was being significantly threatened.”

Brown also said that any Israeli military offensive into Lebanon could risk triggering a broader war, putting US forces in danger.

Risk of escalation

In the event of war, Brown said the US would likely not be able to provide the same assistance as it did when Iran carried out a missile and drone attack on Israel earlier this year. He also said it was hard to fend off the shorter-range rockets that Hezbollah fires across the border into Israel.

He asserted that the safety of US forces was the priority and reiterated that no attacks had been carried out on US bases in the region since February.

Brown said that the US continued to warn Israel against going to war with Lebanon.

"Think about the second order of effect of any type of operation into Lebanon, and how that might play out and how it impacts not just the region, but how it impacts our forces in regions as well,” Brown reportedly said.

Brown's comments come amid heightened expectations that the IDF may launch a military campaign in Lebanon to oust Hezbollah from the territory on Israel’s border to stop its persistent attacks.

While four of the missiles were intercepted by air defenses, a fifth veered off course and detonated a cluster warhead over a busy Black Sea beach, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The Ukrainian attack was purposefully carried out when there was a maximum concentration of people on the beach, Antonov told journalists when asked to comment on Washington’s lack of reaction to the deadly strike.

“The administration demonstratively supports the crimes of the Kiev regime. It took the side of international terrorism, and condones attacks on civilians by Bandera’s adherents,” the ambassador stated.

“It is obvious to policymakers in Washington that cluster munitions in ATACMS missiles cannot be launched without the participation of American specialists and support from US intelligence. It is no coincidence that enemy drones are circling over the Black Sea almost every day,” he added.

Russia, the world’s biggest nuclear power, has started updating its nuclear doctrine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says, citing an earlier statement by President Vladimir Putin.

“President Putin has said that work is under way to bring the doctrine into line with current realities,” Peskov tells a briefing, without elaborating.

A senior member of the Russian parliament said on Sunday that Moscow could reduce the decision-making time stipulated in official policy for the use of nuclear weapons if it believes that threats are increasing.

Putin said last month that Russia might change its official nuclear doctrine setting out the conditions under which such weapons could be used.

The war in Ukraine has triggered the biggest confrontation between Russia and the West since the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

The pace at which Iran is supplying powerful rockets to Hezbollah through Beirut’s Rafic Al Hariri International Airport has spiked, London’s Sunday Telegraph reported Sunday.

Tehran has smuggled weapons to the Lebanese terrorist group by air in the past, and they were then stored in Lebanon’s only commercial airport.

But the Telegraph report, based on anonymous airport employees who are seething at Hezbollah for mixing warfare with their civilian airport, makes a clear case that recent months have seen a significant increase in using the airport for storing strategic weapons.

The idea of using the civilian airport as one of its major storage depots appears to be a lateral maneuver by Hezbollah after the 2020 disaster in which many of its strategic explosive weapons exploded inside their storage area at the Port of Beirut.

The explosion destroyed large portions of Beirut, killed nearly 220 people, and turned much of the Lebanese public against Hezbollah for a period of time. Hezbollah was responsible for the disaster because it kept the explosive materials nearby civilian areas.

Hezbollah managed to prevent a full investigation that could have proven it was at fault, however, and it appears that it merely moved its weapons storage to a different civilian location, the airport, so as to throw its accusers off its scent and activities.

“The cache allegedly includes Iranian-made Falaq unguided artillery rockets, Fateh-110 short-range missiles, road-mobile ballistic missiles and M-600 missiles with ranges of over 150 to 200 miles,” the report said.

The airport contains “AT-14 Kornet, laser-guided anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), huge quantities of Burkan short-range ballistic missile and explosive RDX, a toxic white powder also known as cyclonite or hexagon,” it said.

Further, the report quoted airport employees describing strange, extra-large boxes that started arriving at the airport since the Gaza war started.

Despite sanctions, staff at the airport claim Wafiq Safa, Hezbollah’s second in command and the head of its security apparatus, has frequented the airport of late.

“Wafiq Safa is always showing up at customs,” one whistle-blower claimed, citing close relationships with the customs managers. “I feel like if we don’t do what they say, our families will be in danger.”

Lebanese airport employees described a situation in which they are practically held hostage by Hezbollah, which will kill anyone who gets in its way.

Only international intervention could force Hezbollah to return the airport to its purely civilian status, they said.Until that time, the Lebanese employees said they were worried about the Israeli military attacking the airport because weapons stored there would be used against Israel in the ongoing war.

Most Christians who have seriously studied Bible prophecy for years have given Israel as the number-one signal to watch for.

This has been especially true since the Jewish people—hated, hunted, and murdered throughout millennia, and finally killed by the millions in the Nazi Holocaust—came back into the Promised Land following World War II in 1948.

Many among the Reformed denominations joined the Catholic Church in writing off the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as having any further rights to the promises God made. Obviously, in this collective view, God had given up on them. Their rejection and crucifixion of His Son had, in the minds of these religionists, negated any rights Israel had as a nation.

When the Jews miraculously became a nation again in the area surrounding Jerusalem, the chosen people suddenly took on tremendous prophetic importance in the eyes of those who looked diligently into the study of end-times things.

Although attacked on every side from the time they were reborn as a nation, Israel not only survived, but grew and prospered as no other people of the Middle East. The land began to bloom like a garden–which was, in fact, fulfilling a prediction from God’s Word about what would happen to the land of promise anytime the chosen people occupied it.

Major assaults against the Jewish state in 1956, 1967, and 1973 only proved God’s Word to be infallible. The nation won against all odds in those wars and sent their hate-filled enemies scurrying away in painful defeat.

But, just as God’s Word also prophesies, the assaults, although of somewhat lesser virulence, have continued to thrust at Israel, as we’ve all seen very recently.

Israel remains at the center of nations in a conflict the would-be, world-governing peace purveyors fear will result in World War III and nuclear Armageddon. These minions, who I am convinced make up the human element of the Ephesians 6:12wickedness we struggle against, no longer hide their satanically-fostered hatred for God’s chosen nation. They strive to turn all of earth’s peoples against the Jewish state. The following illustrates the point:

A group of United Nations experts called on Monday for all countries to recognise a Palestinian state to ensure peace in the Middle East.

The call came less than a week after Spain, Ireland and Norway officially recognised a Palestinian state, prompting anger from Israel, which has found itself increasingly isolated after nearly eight months of war in Gaza.

The experts, including the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories, said recognition of a Palestinian state was an important acknowledgement of the rights of the Palestinian people and their struggle towards freedom and independence…

Israel has repeatedly condemned moves to recognise a Palestinian state, saying they bolster Hamas, the militant Islamist group that led the deadly Oct. 7 attack on Israel which sparked the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Anger and threats similar to those in Germany in the 1930s are again being heard in Europe and around the world.

EJA Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin opened the meeting with a stark message. “We are in a fight for the continuation of Jewish life in Europe,” he said. “Jews wearing traditional clothing or displaying mezuzahs on their doors are facing relentless harassment. Jewish students are receiving threats on their lives and being excluded from university courses, while hate graffiti defaces Jewish homes, synagogues and cemeteries without any deterrent.” 

The buildup is accelerating toward the time Jesus said would be a period of trouble unlike anything that’s ever been. He placed Israel at the center of that time of Tribulation.
