The UK’s Online Safety Act officially came into force two weeks ago, and they have wasted no time using it.

Alternative social media network Gab has already been threatened with a massive fine for its supposed failures to “police speech” on its platform. Anecdotes are piling up, small forums and communities blocking access from the UK for fear of attracting OfCom’s ire and the like.

But rest assured, an OfCom spokesperson promised the Telegraph they would “only take action where it is proportionate and appropriate”. So that’s alright.

It’s a bland piece of dishonesty by omission, pretending to objectivity even as it hides behind language. They only specifically mention child porn and terrorism and other criminal behaviour as “illegal content”, but don’t mention that the act is about far more than child porn and drugs.

It has entire sections dedicated to “false communication offenses” – meaning publishing material the state has deemed “misinformation”, and a second section specifically and explicitly giving newspapers and media companies immunity from those offences.

Nobody is talking about any of that, though, because fortunately enough Adolescence came out at the exact same time the act came into force, and has totally steered the national conversation on this topic while flooding social media with “concerned mothers” who really want the government to “take action”.

That’s right, the formerly-creeping now-galloping authoritarianism is a great thing because we need to save our children from…whatever.

It also allows for editorials like this one in the Guardian, headlining “The Guardian view on online safety: don’t let Trump dictate the terms of debate”. Now Keir Starmer can “stand up to the bully Trump” by refusing to “water down” the “protections”.

The predictable charities and pundits are all “appalled” at the idea of “watering down” the OSA “protections”, and their suggested alternative – which won’t happen – is a complete social media ban for children.

They’ve tried that gambit in Australia already, and it’s not really a social media ban so much as it’s an excuse to end online anonymity.

How do you ban children? You can’t, not without making everyone prove their age.

The “compromise” option is that we don’t ban children, but then we would need to know who is and isn’t a child in order to best protect them from radicalization and hate speech…so everyone better prove their age.

And, of course, all this needing to prove your age stuff flows neatly into a government-issued digital identity.

Some people even suggest that it should be illegal for anyone under 16 to own a smartphone.

How do you enforce that? Well, you’d need to prove your age (and therefore your identity) to own a cell phone, so buh-bye pre-paid anonymous phones. (They really don’t mind leaning into the “Oi mate, you got a license for that?” meme, apparently.)

Usually I would dismiss this as one of those ridiculously extreme positions designed to make the actual goal seem more palatable, but I could actually see this one going ahead. After all, we don’t want kids wandering around with access to the internet 24/7, where they could fact-check teachers in real time for example.

And because it’s just rules, and they love having more rules.

That’s our “new normal” in a nutshell, isn’t it? More and more rules for rules’ sake.

OffGuardian will carry on warning anyone who’ll listen while we can, but with the Online Safety Act out in force and taking no prisoners, who can say how long that might be?

Marrs, a former newspaper reporter turned alternative researcher, weaves together decades of historical events, leaked documents and policy critiques to argue that the U.S. is being systematically dismantled from within.

Marrs asserts that the 2008 financial crisis was not an accident but a calculated move by “zombie banks” –  financial institutions kept alive by government bailouts despite insolvency. He cites the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), which injected $700 billion into failing banks, as evidence of a rigged system.

Shia movement Ansar Allah, which rules northern Yemen, attacked warships in the northern Red Sea, including a supply vessel for the US aircraft carrier Harry Truman, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said.

"Over the last few hours, the missile and UAV forces, with the participation of the naval forces, clashed with a number of these warships in the northern Red Sea, including the American aircraft carrier 'Truman' with a number of cruise missiles and drones," the Houthi military spokesman said in a statement.

As Saree noted, the movement struck a supply vessel for the US aircraft carrier Harry Truman.

The human cost of last month's 7.7-magnitude earthquake that rocked Myanmar and Thailand is still rising more than a week later, with Myanmar state media revising the country's death toll up to 3,354 on Saturday.

Another 4,850 people have been injured and 220 remain missing, the MRTV state media organization said.

At least 23 people have died in Thailand's capital Bangkok, which was also rocked by the earthquake on March 28, according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Most of the deaths -- 15 -- are from the scene of a high-rise building that was under construction when it collapsed as the powerful quake struck. Dozens of others are still missing, city officials said.

Search-and-rescue operations remain ongoing in both countries.

A number of nations, including China and Russia, have sent rescue crews and disaster-response teams to help Myanmar in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.

Rescue teams from the U.S. have been notably absent, The Associated Press reported, amid ongoing efforts by President Donald Trump's administration to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development -- USAID.

By now, it surprises absolutely no one to learn that the European Union Globalists and her powerful Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen are guilty of weaponizing the continent’s powers against their political enemies and the patriotic forces that oppose their suicidal policies.

After years of heavy criticism and scrutiny, the EU Commission has officially admitted a huge scandal: Brussels paid millions to environmental associations – but not only, mind you, for the nonsense ‘climate work’. What the EU was actually financing were targeted campaigns against political opponents and dissenting voices.

“The suspicion has been around for years, but now it is official: The EU Commission under Ursula von der Leyen has supported environmental organizations with taxpayers’ money – not only for climate and environmental protection, but also for political smear campaigns. The aim of the funded NGOs was to specifically attack critics of Brussels’ climate policy.

The explosive admission: In an official statement, the Commission admits that there have been “inappropriate lobbying activities” in funded NGO programs. This apparently refers to targeted attacks on political opponents who opposed individual EU plans.”

A Commission Statement on the ‘LIFE’ Programs from April 1st contains the stunning admission: ‘The Commission notes that the work programs submitted by the NGOs […] contained specific advocacy actions and undue lobbying activities’.

Below the euphemistic and normalizing language, what it says is that von der Leyen spent millions of Euros subsidizing propaganda.

The ‘LIFE’ funding program is intended to ‘promote environmental projects and climate measures’ (a.k.a. ‘Global warming’ nonsense).

“But as it turns out, organizations that used these funds to mobilize against conservative politicians and critical voices were also paid.

Internal documents had previously spoken of ‘cooperations’ with NGOs, in which it was agreed against whom to lobby. Now Brussels admits for the first time: Yes, there were such cases – and yes, they were problematic.”

A Hamas terror cell in Nablus that received instructions and funding from the organization’s overseas headquarters in Turkey was dismantled by Israeli security forces in recent weeks in what observers say is part of a broader pattern of Turkey serving as a permissive hub for Hamas’s terror operations.

According to a joint statement by the Israel Police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) issued on March 25, “a terror cell from Nablus was thwarted, which acted under the guidance and funding of Hamas headquarters in Turkey to carry out shooting and explosive device attacks.” The statement added that “an M-16 rifle and tens of thousands of dollars in cash were handed over during the investigation.”

Six suspects from Nablus were arrested between January and February in a joint operation by the Shin Bet, the Israel Police Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District and the Israel Defense Forces.

The investigation revealed that the suspects had received approximately $40,000 from Hamas in Turkey to carry out shooting and bombing attacks against Israeli security forces and other targets in Judea and Samaria.

The Shin Bet stated that “the investigation revealed that the cell operated under direct guidance from the Hamas terror organization in Turkey,” and that “significant evidence was gathered which not only thwarted the planned attacks but also enabled the indictment of all involved.”

One of the suspects led security forces to a hidden roadside bomb buried near a key junction in Samaria. The large metal container filled with explosives was destroyed in a controlled demolition by police sappers.

Col. (res.) Michael Milshtein, head of the Palestinian Studies Forum at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel Aviv University and former head of IDF Military Intelligence’s Department for Palestinian Affairs, told JNS on Wednesday, “Turkey at this stage constitutes one of Hamas’s most important operational hubs abroad."

Milshtein noted that “in Lebanon, there’s been a decline [of Hamas activities] since the war—and Hezbollah is angry at Hamas for trying to heat up the border with rocket fire. In Syria, there is still rebuilding [of Hamas] after Assad’s fall, but it remains limited. As a result, Turkey has become a central nerve center.”

Israeli airstrikes this week struck multiple military sites in Syria that Turkish teams had reportedly inspected in recent weeks as part of Ankara’s strategic evaluation for a potential defense initiative in the war-torn country, according to four sources with knowledge of the matter who spoke to the Reuters news agency.

The targeted locations included the T4 and Palmyra air bases in Homs province, as well as the main airport in Hama province—sites Turkey had considered using under a proposed joint defense framework aimed at increasing its presence in central Syria, said the report.

The developments highlight escalating friction between Israel and Turkey as they navigate a complex post-Assad landscape in Syria. Islamist factions, long opposed to the previous regime, assumed control after Bashar Al-Assad was removed from power in December, raising concerns in Jerusalem over the potential implications for its security.

Despite Turkish assurances to the United States that its increased involvement in Syria does not threaten Israel, Israel views Turkey’s deeper role with skepticism—particularly over fears of advanced military assets being positioned within striking distance.

One regional intelligence official quoted by Reuters described the Israeli strikes on Wednesday as “a tough message that Israel won’t accept the expanded Turkish presence.” The official added that T4 suffered heavy damage, rendering the site “totally unusable.” Another planned Turkish inspection of the base was aborted after the strikes occurred.

Turkish teams had previously assessed the condition of runways, hangars, and operational infrastructure at the targeted sites, according to the same official, two Syrian military sources, and another Syrian source familiar with the visits. All sources spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information.

Turkey’s Defense Ministry responded to inquiries by stating, “Reports and posts regarding developments in Syria—whether real or alleged—that do not originate from official authorities should not be taken into consideration, as they lack credibility and may be misleading.”

In a stunning power grab that would make any aspiring autocrat blush, Israel’s unelected judicial and security establishment is openly defying the will of the nation’s democratically elected government. What we’re witnessing isn’t just a bureaucratic squabble—it’s nothing short of an institutional coup.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s justified attempt to fire Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar—a man whose intelligence agency catastrophically failed to prevent the October 7th massacre—has been met with unprecedented obstruction from an activist Supreme Court and an Attorney General with glaring conflicts of interest.

The facts speak for themselves: On October 6th, the Shin Bet detected Hamas operatives activating Israeli SIM cards en masse—an unmistakable warning sign of the impending attack. Bar, in his infinite wisdom, decided this intelligence wasn’t worth sharing with the Prime Minister. The next day, 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered.

This alone would justify immediate dismissal in any functioning democracy. Instead, we’re told by unelected judges that the Prime Minister—whose legal authority to fire the Shin Bet chief is explicitly codified in Israeli law—cannot exercise this power because, conveniently, the Shin Bet has suddenly launched an investigation into Netanyahu’s office.

The timing is beyond suspicious. The very day Bar was required to submit his report detailing the Shin Bet’s October 7th failures, he magically announced a probe into alleged “Qatar ties” within Netanyahu’s office. Hours later, the Supreme Court and Attorney General—a close personal friend of Bar who vacations with him—declared Netanyahu cannot fire Bar due to “conflict of interest.”

This is the deep state playbook in action: When accountability looms, launch investigations against those seeking to hold you accountable.

For decades, Israel’s Supreme Court has operated as what can only be described as a self-perpetuating oligarchy. Judges select their own successors, ensuring ideological continuity, while striking down laws and government decisions based on nothing more than their subjective sense of “reasonableness.” The result is judicial tyranny masquerading as judicial review.

The Attorney General, meanwhile, is refusing to represent the government—her literal job description—while simultaneously forbidding Netanyahu from interviewing potential replacements for Bar. In any other democracy, such insubordination would be grounds for immediate dismissal.

What we’re witnessing is the death throes of Israel’s leftist establishment. Having lost at the ballot box for over two decades as Israeli voters increasingly reject their failed policies, they’ve retreated to their last bastions of power—the judiciary and security agencies—to undermine the democratically elected government.

Make no mistake: Netanyahu’s cabinet is taking the right approach by defying these illegitimate constraints. A Supreme Court that invents powers for itself cannot complain when a government finally refuses to acknowledge those fictional authorities.

For all the hand-wringing about “threats to democracy,” the real threat has always been a judiciary that believes itself superior to the people’s elected representatives. True democracy requires that those making policy decisions answer to voters, not to judges who answer to no one.

The October 7th massacre demonstrated the catastrophic consequences of intelligence failures. Those responsible must be held accountable, regardless of their political connections or institutional protections. Anything less dishonors the memory of those who perished due to these failures.

Netanyahu must stand firm. This moment isn’t just about one security chief—it’s about whether Israel will be governed by those elected by its citizens or by an entrenched elite that views democratic outcomes as mere suggestions to be overruled when inconvenient.

The choice couldn’t be clearer: democracy or judicial autocracy. For Israel’s future, let’s hope democracy prevails.

The latest fraud uncovered by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) isn’t getting nearly enough attention. Elon Musk’s team just discovered that millions of illegals who snuck across the southern border were getting social security from the Biden Administration. There were even some who voted in 2024.

Antonio Gracia, in an address with Elon Musk in Wisconsin, highlighted, “In 2021, you see 270,000 people. [It] goes all the way to 2.1 million in 2024. These are non-citizens that are getting social security numbers. This literally blew us away. We went there to find fraud, and we found this by accident.”

Two million illegals received benefits in 2024, with many enrolling in Medicaid. Last week, DOGE removed almost 7 million Social Security accounts for people over the age of 120. That’s not just waste; that’s criminal.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Tuesday, “We know for a fact there are individuals who should not be receiving benefits on the Social Security rolls. And this administration is focused on cleaning out the waste, fraud, and abuse in every agency, but particularly in Social Security to make it stronger for our tax-paying, law-abiding citizens who deserve these entitlements and programs.”

While DOGE is doing its job, the left is losing it! Tesla dealerships across America are burning, not because of faulty batteries but because of the Democrats’ rage against Elon Musk. Attorney General Pam Bondi is taking action, calling this exactly what it is: domestic terrorism.

“I’ve made it clear: if you take part in the wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, we will find you, arrest you, and put you behind bars,” Bondi cautioned. “We’ve charged Cooper Frederick in the firebombing of a Tesla dealership that occurred on March 7 in Loveland, Colorado.”

“Let this be a warning,” she underscored. “You can run, but you cannot hide. Justice is coming.”

The fraud goes even deeper. Medicaid is supposed to give health coverage to low-income Americans. Doge discovered that 1.3 million illegals who received a Social Security number from the Biden administration were already receiving Medicaid.

Musk pointed out the obvious: “People sometimes think that under the Biden administration, he was simply asleep at the switch. They weren’t asleep at the switch. It was a massive, large-scale program to import as many illegals as possible, ultimately to change the entire voting map of the United States, disenfranchise the American people, and make it a permanent, deep blue, one-party state from which there would be no escape.”

Keep going, Elon Musk. DOGE, keep shining a light on the waste, the abuse, and the fraud.

If Europe's goal was to ruin Donald Trump's chances of brokering a practical diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict, they may have succeeded.  France and Britain are both openly suggesting that they will deploy troops to the region to "help secure a peace deal" in the near term - There are very few other takers, largely because the move will undoubtedly trigger WWIII. 

In fact, this is likely the intention.

With Russia making the largest territorial gains year-over-year since 2022 and Ukraine's troop strength dwindling, the end of the war looms.  Either Kyiv will be forced to surrender or Trump will score a rudimentary peace agreement and a ceasefire.  The best case scenario for Ukraine at present is a separation of the Donbas into Russia (one of the original reasons for the war), and a demilitarized zone with a solidified border.  Ukraine has no chance of reclaiming these territories through strength of arms.  

Case in point:  Vladimir Putin has initiated the largest troop call-up since 2011, mobilizing over 160,000 men with no signs of slowing Russia's recruitment efforts.  The spring call-up for military service came several months after Putin said Russia should increase the overall size of its military to almost 2.39 million and its number of active servicemen to 1.5 million.

That is a rise of another 180,000 over the next three years at the current rate. The Kremlin states that the new troops are not expected to enter Ukraine, and will more likely be used to secure the western border.  This move comes as Poland and other NATO countries within ground invasion proximity to Russia engage in a build up on pretenses of defense. 

Whether or not this is true is difficult to determine because of French and British plans for troop deployments to Ukraine.  Even if calls for boots on the ground turn out to be pure bluster, the buildup in Poland and the troop increases in Russia might be enough to trigger an escalation.  Furthermore, new troops are traditionally called up right before a major offensive so that fresh soldiers can be deployed to fill expected losses after six months to a year.  

The fact is, the powers-that-be intend for tensions with Russia to continue no matter what happens in Ukraine.  And, Russia my be getting ready to preempt the arrival of European forces.

Russia calls up conscripts in the spring and autumn but the latest draft of 160,000 young men is 10,000 higher than the same period in 2024.

Since the start of last year, the pool of young men available for the draft has been increased by raising the maximum age from 27 to 30 (to put this in perspective, the average age of conscripts in Ukraine is now 43). 

Though the long running narrative in the establishment media has been that Russian forces are "tapped out" and shattered after unprecedented losses on the front lines, ongoing gains in Eastern Ukraine along with growing troop strength show that this was nothing more than propaganda.

The Russian Foreign Ministry warned on Thursday that US threats of attack against Iran are “unacceptable” and could result in a “catastrophe”.

“The use of military force by Iran’s opponents in the context of the settlement is illegal and unacceptable. Threats from outside to bomb Iran’s nuclear infrastructure facilities will inevitably lead to an irreversible global catastrophe. These threats are simply unacceptable,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also told Life magazine that the “consequences of this, especially if there are strikes on the nuclear infrastructure, could be catastrophic for the entire region.”

Russia and the US have recently held talks on ending the war in Ukraine. Ryabkov said these talks have not resulted in a breakthrough.

Regarding tension between Tehran and Washington, Ryabkov said Russia “condemns US threats.” The Russian Foreign Ministry comes after US President Donald Trump renewed his threat to attack Iranian nuclear facilities.

“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing. But there’s a chance that if they don’t make a deal, that I will do secondary tariffs on them like I did four years ago,” the president said on Sunday. Iran issued a formal complaint to the UN Security Council and said it would respond to any threat.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravachi held talks on the nuclear issue with Ryabkov on Wednesday.

“The sides stressed the illegality and inadmissibility of the use of military force by Iran’s opponents to resolve disagreements and the unacceptability of threats from the outside to bomb Iran’s nuclear energy infrastructure, as this will inevitably lead to large-scale and irreversible radiological and humanitarian consequences for the entire Middle East region and the world as a whole,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

China, Russia, and Iran released a joint statement on March 14 demanding an end to “unlawful” US sanctions against the Islamic Republic after meetings in Beijing between the three countries.
