The Department of Energy just issued an emergency order to PJM, the grid that powers 65 MILLION people... running Oct 13 through Oct 16.
Continued HOT temperatures are straining the grid... so power plants are now allowed to run PAST their pollution limits just to keep the lights on...
And as a LAST RESORT before rolling blackouts... PJM can force data centers and other big power users off the grid and onto their backup generators.
The grid could have as little as ~900 MW of cushion left...
This is NOT normal.

Hmmm. So all summer with more heat than these 2 days and now we stress the power grid? Sounds like an excuse for something they want to build. They are proposing a massive build in our area for the power grid as the data centers are building in and around our area. If you think about it why is it necessary for AI to have that much computational power when personal computers are more than capable. These seem to be intended for a much more than just a centralized development of AI as that does not require data centers in each neighborhood. Seems to be more of a control application.
Building the ultimate control network where anyone that bucks the system will find themselves having their car disabled, electricity, heat, ac, water turned off, phone disconnected, bank account access denied and drone overwatch in case that person decides to ride a bike or walk to the local Amish market gets a quick taser wake up call and notification to return home Local police won’t be necessary. In fact the goal will be to automate the entire system bypassing human interaction using AI and robotics.
