Netanyahu To Meet Trump At Upcoming UN General Assembly Meeting

Netanyahu to meet Trump on sidelines of UN confab

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to attend the upcoming United Nations General Assembly and meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the conference, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said Wednesday.
Iran and the effects of the new US sanctions against the regime will top the agenda of the Trump-Netanyahu meeting in New York, Danon told Kol Barama radio.
“The prime minister’s speech is very important and many people are looking forward to hearing what he has to say,” Danon said.

The Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday did not confirm Netanyahu’s travel plans or the meeting with Trump.
The GA’s high-level General Debate will begin on September 25, the first day of the Jewish Sukkot holiday.
Netanyahu is due in New York during the holiday’s intermediary days, which suggests he will be one of the first world leaders to address the gathering.
Netanyahu and Trump last met on March 5 in Washington but have spoken several times on the phone since.
Danon’s term as Israel’s envoy to the UN was set to have ended this summer. But Danon said in the radio interview that Netanyahu has extended his term by six months.
