6 earthquakes rattle Northern California on Thursday



UPDATE: The United States Geological Survey reports a preliminary magnitude 2.8 earthquake struck near East Foothills on Thursday.

The quake hit at 8:59 PM local time at a depth of 0 kilometers.
This was followed by another 2.6-magnitude temblor at 10:19 p.m., also near East Foothills, according to the USGS.

A quartet of small earthquakes shook Northern California on Thursday, including three rattlers about 9 miles northeast of San Jose, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The first quake struck at 10:32 a.m. about 2 miles north of East Foothills at a magnitude of 3.3. Two hours later, a second quake roared from the same epicenter with a 2.6 magnitude, followed by yet another shaker 2 miles north of East Foothills at 6:17 p.m. The last quake shook with a 3.4 magnitude. 
There were no reports of damage.
