The Libyan branches of the Islamic State, Al-Qaida, and the Muslim Brotherhood are in discussions to complete a “mega merger,” the London-based A Sharq al Awsat newspaper reported.
Leaked documents have revealed that Libya’s biggest Islamist organizations are considering an alliance and the establishment of a joint council of sages, the Arabic language daily reported.
The prospective move comes in the wake of reports of an imminent international effort to form a unity government that would bring Libya’s numerous parties and militias together.
The paper said the Muslim Brotherhood is considering a united Islamic front even though the movement is officially in favor of forming a unity government. However, sources within the movement told the paper that their support for the international endeavor is merely tactical, and they’re waiting for it to collapse.
Negotiations between the three Islamic groups began because of reports of a rapprochement between the internationally recognized government based in Tobruk and the unrecognized government in the capital Tripoli, the paper said.
The groups wish to send a message to the forces coalescing around a unity government that they are not opposed by IS alone, but “all the Islamist opposition elements speak in one voice and should be treated as such,” a source said.
According to the documents, Muslim Brotherhood leaders said that Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s regime “isn’t supported by the Americans because of his close relations with Russia. They can’t wait to see him leave the scene.”
The parties agreed to form a joint Shura (advisory) council and territories that are currently under Islamic control will be divided between them, echoing a similar agreement that is already underway in Benghazi.
Al-Qaida’s representative was quoted as saying that the move would inspire Islamists in Algeria and Egypt to follow suit.
A Middle East think tank charged last month that there is information Hamas has been paying off the Islamic State’s Sinai branch to smuggle weapons into Gaza. “Over the past two years, IS Sinai helped Hamas move weapons from Iran and Libya through the peninsula, taking a generous cut from each shipment,” stated a report by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
On Monday, we get the latest bit of migrant news out of Europe, this time from Sweden where “gangs” of Moroccan migrant children have apparently “taken over” the Stockholm train station where, to let The Daily Mail tell it, they are “stealing, groping” and beating women. Here's the story:
Swedish police warns that Stockholm's main train station has become unsafe after being ‘taken over’ by dozens of Moroccan street children.
The all-male migrant teen gangs are spreading terror in the centre of the Swedish capital, stealing, groping girls and assaulting security guards, according to Stockholm police.
Members of the gangs, some as young as nine, roam central Stockholm day and night, refusing help provided by the Swedish authorities.
Sweden has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Moroccan under-18s who apply for asylum without a parent or guardian in the past four years, with many later running away from the housing provided to live on the streets in the capital.
Stockholm police estimate that at least 200 Moroccan street children move in the area around the main train station in the centre of the capital, sleeping rough, and living off criminal activity.
'These guys are a huge problem for us. They steal stuff everywhere and assault security guards at the central station,' one police officer told SVT.
'They grope girls between their legs, and slap them in the face when they protest. All police officers are aware of this.
"The gangs are made up of orphans who have grown up on the streets of Casablanca and Tanger in Morocco, where authorities estimate there are around 800,000 homeless 'street children," the Mail continues, adding that "Swedish migration authorities first reported and increase in Moroccan unaccompanied minors applying for asylum in 2012, when 145 arrived, a number which more than doubled in 2013."
A young Swedish woman employed at an asylum centre has died following an attack by a migrant at the centre, the Swedish news agency TT has reported.
The victim, 22 year-old Alexandra Mezher, was rushed to a nearby hospital after being stabbed repeatedly, but later died.
Swedish police have refused to comment on the identity of the man whois suspected of murdered her but have stated that he is under arrest and will be charged with murder or manslaughter and that he was a resident of the centre. The centre in Mölndal is primarily for unaccompanied minors aged 14-17.
The motive for the attack remains unknown and police have not commented to media extensively about the case. Police spokesman Christer Fuxborg did tell Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, “the woman who was taken to Sahlgrenska Hospital this morning died because of the injuries she received in connection with the altercation, relatives are informed.”
Miss Mezher’s cousin described her as “an angel.” She told Swedish media: “It is so terrible. She was a person who wanted to do good, who wanted to be good.
“And then he murdered her when she was doing her job. We have cried a lot. She was such a nice person, warm and happy.
She added: “It is the Swedish politicians’ fault that she is dead.”
The constant violence, physical and often sexual, is a growing epidemic in asylum centres across Europe. Violence is often directed to Christians, LGBT people and female asylum centre workers often bear the brunt of sexual violence in the centres.
Swedish police are currently being quiet about the case, which comes at a time they are under incredible pressure due to a report that accused police, government and media of covering up migrant crimes for years.
A softheaded chancellor is in the process of ruining Germany. Angela Merkel is turning the very same Germany that rebuilt itself from wartime devastation into the world’s economic powerhouse, peacefully unified with communist East Germany and rebuilt it, and modeled a conversion to a democratic federal system.
But now, in addition to adding a million young mostly male Muslims (and with “family reunification,” millions more to follow) last year and insisting on adding more, with the result that German females face rape predation, Frau Merkel is ruining the economy. We all know the unfortunate result of economic ruin on Germany in the early part of the last century, so even those who resent Deutschland should not revel in schadenfreude.
“For me, the most urgent problem is the design of the energy revolution,” said the German Chancellor in her first television interview after being re-elected last month. “We are under a lot of pressure. The future of jobs and the future of Germany as a business location depend on it.”
She is not wrong: Europe’s largest country and economy faces a crisis. Such is the mess over energy that the future of Germany’s much-vaunted economic competitiveness is now seriously threatened. (snip)
… despite Germany’s shift to renewable solar and wind energies, and amid a recession, its carbon emissions rose by 1.8pc last year. (snip)
Germany’s shift to renewables was very much along the norms of the European model, with the aim of going beyond EU targets. Then along came Fukushima and the wave of anti-nuclear hysteria that followed the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The once-in-a-millennium event at the Fukushima reactor killed nobody, although the tsunami claimed 16,000 lives. However, it was enough to panic Germany’s green middle class.
Ms Merkel caved in to shrill demands for the country’s atomic reactors to be closed. (snip)
Germany has also stepped up energiewende, as it switches to meet a target of producing 80pc of the country’s electricity from renewable, wind and solar power by 2050. The fields carpeted with solar panels and the North Sea wind farms may have gratified the green conceits of Germany’s middle class but they have come at a terrible economic and social cost. According to Nature, the international science magazine, this year German consumers will be forced to pay €20bn (£17bn) to subsidise electricity from solar, wind and bio-gas plants, power with a real market price of €3bn.
To pay for this green adventure, surcharges on electricity for households have increased by 47pc, or €15bn, in the past year alone. (snip)
German industry is in trouble. Energy prices are 40pc more expensive than in France and the Netherlands, and the bills are 15pc higher than the EU average. Even though Germany’s energy-intensive manufacturing sector is given a break with reduced levies, industries such as chemicals and steel are among the hardest hit….
Joe Biden “discussed” Syria with the Turkish government, and said that a “military solution” to defeat ISIS was on the table. He politely urged the Syrian government and the crazed violent extremists funded by Saudi Arabia to overthrow them to come to an agreement. However, he failed to take any action to halt, or even call out the Turkish government’s blatant support for ISIS.
As Joe Biden was in Turkey speaking in polite diplomatic terms, the very government that was hosting him has refused to close the Syrian border. ISIS oil is flowing across the Turkish border, and being sold on the international markets. Meanwhile, weapons are flowing across the Turkish-Syrian border, into the hands of ISIS terrorists. If the Turkish government were to actually begin cooperating, shut its border with Syria, and make an effort to close down the ISIS-linked smuggling networks utilizing it, the defeat of these terrorists would not be too far away.
If Joe Biden were really the tough, “to the point” character he plays at, and he really wanted to defeat ISIS, he would have barked “close the _______ border” at Erdogan in the first moments of their meetings. But Biden did nothing of the kind.
Furthermore, if Biden really wanted to defeat ISIS, he would have castigated Erdogan for his idiotic confrontation with Russia. He would have confronted Erdogan with “Back off, buddy! Let the Russians get the job done! Why did you shoot down their airplane?”
Indeed, the Turkish government is not only allowing ISIS to utilize its borders for fundraising and weapons shipments, but Turkey is increasingly becoming hostile to a country that is scoring real victories against them. As Russia is aiding the Syrian government in defeating the ISIS menace, Turkey’s anti-Russian rhetoric and provocations continue.
With Geneva negotiations set to start up on Monday, it should be very obvious that Joe Biden’s journey to Turkey was not about defeating ISIS. Biden was most likely very pleased with Erdogan, and privately congratulating him on his recent actions, though they have been detrimental to world peace.
The goal of US policy in Syria, contrary to all rational human reason, is not to defeat the ISIS terrorists, but to topple the recognized, legitimate Syrian government. Joe Biden’s most friendly encounter with a leader who is enabling and strengthening ISIS, while intensifying hostility toward those scoring real defeats against ISIS, should be further proof of this.
As the negotiations in Geneva proceed, the leaders of NATO are talking about increasing their support for the foreign backed insurgency against the Syrian government, from which ISIS emerged. Weapons from Jordan also continue to flow into Syria.
The forces that are actively defeating ISIS on the battlefield, whether they are Russian, Iranian, Lebanese, independent militias, or the Syrian Arab Army itself, continue to face demonization and active hostility from Turkey and the rest of NATO.
US leaders now discuss the possibility of their own “intervention” to fight ISIS. Such a move should be universally opposed, as ISIS is a direct result of these forces “intervention.”
If western leaders had not continued to fund and arm anti-government fighters and foment chaos, Syria would still be a peaceful country. The war would have been over within a week, if the US and its Gulf-State allies had not be pouring money, weapons, and foreign fighters into Syria. Now, 250,000 people are dead, because western leaders are dedicated to “regime change” no matter how many innocent lives it costs. If Iraq’s government had not been violently toppled, it would also be in a much better situation. ISIS has emerged out of the chaos deliberately created by western leaders in Syria and Iraq. Now they are hoping to use ISIS as an excuse to create more.
The Syrian Arab Republic, the legitimate government which still controls the territory where 80% of the people live, has the right to call for foreign assistance in its fight against terrorism. But western leaders, who created this mess, need to stay out of Syria. They need to step back and let the patriotic Syrians and their trusted allies get the job done.

God is Love
This shall be a sign unto you; lying in a manger. – Luke 2:12
Yes! that is the meaning of it all. It tells of the good will of God toward all men. There is a strange medieval legend
which illustrates this truth. An infidel knight, in the wildness of his mad, Heaven-defying infidelity, determined to test,
by the method to which as a knight he was accustomed, the reality and power of the God whose existence he denied.
So, going out into the field, armed as if for combat, he cast his glove down upon the ground, after the manner of the
ancient challengers, and cried out to the heavens: “God! if there be a God, I defy thee here and now to mortal combat! If
thou indeed art, put forth thy might, of which thy pretended priests make such boasts.” As he spoke, his eye was caught
by a piece of parchment fluttering in the air just above his head. It fell at his feet. He stooped and picked it up, and found
inscribed upon it these words, “God is love!” Overcome by this unexpected response, he broke his sword in token of his
surrender, and kneeling upon the fragments, consecrated his life henceforth to the service of that God whom he had just
before defied.
Thus to all men’s defiance, to the rebellion of a world, to the godlessness of nations, to the blasphemy of individuals, the
answer that heaven has always let fall has been, “God is love!” This was the message that came wafted down that night
on the silent air in this sweet note of the angels song. This was the meaning of the coming of Christ. Cold was the world;
shut were men’s hearts against God; defiant was the attitude of nations. Yet to this coldness, this defiance, this revolt, the
answer was not swift judgment, but the gift of the Son of God as the Saviour, “On earth peace, good will toward men.”
Wherever the gospel goes to-day, it breathes the same loving message. God does not hate us; He loves us with a love
tender and everlasting.
Stop the world. I want to get off! Maranatha!!!
I agree, Dave!
Thank you GG!
So Scott, I almost never watch the news anymore. Not even Fox. Is there an article out there that explains what in the world happened yesterday with the ruling against those trying to expose Planned Parenthood? It is so disheartening, ...yet Jesus told us that in the last days good would be called evil and evil would be called good. My heart is breaking for those who worked hard to expose this evil and are now indicted. Such an upside down world!
Maranatha!!!
Alice,
I'm getting ready to post an updated article that may help with this.....It makes no sense really - but these things are just signs of where we are in this generation
Sigh :(
