"Forcing Israel's Hand"

This is one of the best commentaries in circulation right now and crystallizes many of the thoughts that we have been having:

In the dreary years of Depression and drift leading up to World War II, there was always a difference of perception between Britain and France about the Hitler threat. France wanted to strike Hitler when he marched into the Rhineland in 1936. This was a direct violation of the Treaty of Versailles and France felt its very life was threatened by a re-militarized Rhineland on her border. The French premier was invited to London by Prime Minister Baldwin--for talks. Four years later, France fell under the Nazi boot.

Britain always had the advantage of distance from Germany. Britain had a 22-mile anti-tank trench called the English Channel. France naturally resented Britain's talking, talking, talking while Hitler moved.

This is useful history as we view the situation in Israel today. The Iranian mullahs are motivated by the same anti-Jewish hatred that poisoned Hitler. They are developing a nuclear weapon, while claiming only to want nuclear energy for "peaceful purposes." Why a country like Iran that is sitting on a sea of oil needs a nuclear power program is left for the credulous of the world to consider. The mullahs want the bomb.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is coming to the U.S. to attend a UN meeting in New York. President Obama does not have time to meet with him. The President was able to squeeze a rap DJ known as "the pimp with the limp" into his busy schedule, but Israel's elected leader will have to meet with Sec. of State Hillary Clinton in New York, instead.

Nothing in the past four years of talking has slowed Iran's lunge for nuclear weapons. Not President Obama's "open hand instead of a clenched fist." Not his New Year's greetings to Iranians and their leaders. Not the Obama administration's desire to avoid "meddling" when thousands of Iranian students cried out in the streets of Tehran for democracy--and were shot down by order of a fraudulently re-elected Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Prime Minister Netanyahu pleaded for the West to give Iran "red lines," to show them our determination to act if they went beyond certain well-marked points in their nuclear program. Sec. Clinton publicly rebuffed Netanyahu's plea. No red lines. No deadlines. Just talk. And hope.

The Obama administration's Iran policy has been all hope and no change. The U.S. has bunker buster bombs that reportedly could destroy Iran's nuclear facilities as they take them deep underground. But would a re-elected Peace Prize winner ever use those bunker busters? Or, would he rely, as he is being daily urged to rely, on deterrence.

Columnist Charles Krauthammer has shown why deterrence with a regime like Iran's will not work. In addition to Dr. Krauthammer's powerful case, there has to be something else for an adversary to consider:

When we permit Ahmadinejad (and Qaddafi before him) to visit New York and spew anti-Semitic hatred from the podium of the UN General Assembly, we may think we are showing admirable patience and forbearance; we may think we are demonstrating our liberal values to these dictatorial regimes. But they view this as a sign of our weakness. They are not deterred by weak-willed acquiescence.

Nothing in the conduct of this administration's policy toward Iran has given the mullahs the slightest indication that President Obama and Sec. Clinton will actually use overwhelming force to stop their nuclear arms race. If the fact that the U.S. has 5,113 nuclear warheads of its own (which this administration unconscionably told the world) does not deter them, why should anything else prevent them from achieving the goal for which they live?

The mullahs see nuclear weapons as a way of annihilating the hated "Zionist entity." If they destroy Israel, then they will have the upper hand in the playing out of their millennial rivalry with opponents within Islam. They can claim that Shiites, not Sunnis, did this great thing.

No red lines, no deadlines, no sanctions, or UN resolutions can deter them. Someone must stop them. All the dithering and drift from the Obama administration is sending a powerful message to Israel: We're not in this together: You're on your own. President Obama is forcing Israel's hand.

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (SFRC) today responded to the embassy attacks in Cairo and Benghazi that resulted in the death of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya:

“There are many disturbing facts about these attacks that raise many troubling questions. For this reason, today I am calling on Chairmen Levin and Kerry to hold hearings immediately on the lack of intelligence, security, and appropriate response. We must have answers to these questions to prevent similar attacks in the future.”

Hello Scott

Please accept this with my utmost respect and sincerity.

I need to address a potentially dangerous situation as carefully as possible in these circumstances.

After calling out to The Lord, I believe He has shown me that a certain one is having increasing Psychotic Episodes. It is my hope that you, but especially the CARER, are fully aware and have things set in place?

If not, then PLEASE make sure to inform their Carer of this suspicion as medical help is URGENTLY required.

No further comments from me to that one.
God bless you with His wisdom in this matter.

Sincerely yours.

P.S. I should have made it clear that this does not concern Stephen.

Yes, we DO know you, & your attempt to sew strife in this blog is painfully obvious. Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God.

All those with His Spirit indwelling must have a common goal in mind for everything they say and do. Is your motivation to encourage and edify those within the Body of Christ? Ephesians 4:29, 1Thess 5:11, Romans 14:19.
Is it your goal for those born of His Spirit to grow in the grace and knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? 2Peter 3:18.

Only those with His Spirit indwelling CAN be Peacemakers. The Beatitudes build on each other. Those whom the Lord has convicted of being "poor in spirit" receive His Spirit. Only then can we become "peacemakers", leading others who are "poor in spirit" to the One Who was sent by God the Father to redeem all who would receive His Atoning Blood Sacrifice for their sins.Romans 3:25.
We cannot pull one out of sequence for any reason.

MATTHEW 5:1-11
Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, 2and He began to teach them, saying:

3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness,

for they will be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

All those not having His Spirit are servants of the god of this world, 2Cor 4:4.
It is wrong to expect fruit of His Spirit from one who does not have His Spirit indwelling. Matthew 7:16. John 15:1-11.

Praying for my brothers/sisters, that they would learn from the information on this blog, leaving that which is not edifying alone.

In Him,
Shannon

Scott,
I'm glad you were encouraged. I believe division is very important as this is one way the Lord reveals to us those who are of us and those who are not. 1John 2:18,19 & also
2Cor 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.
If they are not for us they are against us.
He is helping us to recognize those who are brothers/sisters and those who are against us.
We must keep in mind Peter's warning of the apostates being in the church, perhaps many are sitting in the pew next to us. These are professing believers, many are those not having His Spirit.
Since all those with His Spirit comprise the Body of Christ, we are all very necessary to each other. The Lord is careful to place those who have discernment where needed in order to help warn those of us who may be weak in that area.
This is His Grace poured out on us. He cares for us and provides all our needs.

Praying for His continued protection of us. The enemy uses any resource at his disposal to distort and distract from His Truth.

In Him,
Shannon

Hello Shannon

Amen!

Because even genuine believers can behave badly, it is also a mistake to expect Holy Spirit fruit to be produced from one who is young in the faith, not yet mature enough to be a fruitful bough. Or even a branch that has to recover from a bad frost (tribulation) causing it to be a ‘lame’ branch that needs extra pruning, and to be ‘lifted up’ to allow better circulation.

This is also true for a branch whose leaves are caked in mud after heavy rain; (sorrow) this prevents the branch from breathing properly, so what fruit there is, becomes stunted and sour. The Vinedresser has to cleanse the branch by washing it with fresh water (of the Word); He has to cut away the bad and diseased part so that it can produce good fruit at a later date.

This is God given discipline as our heavenly Father chastises all those whom He loves because He wants them to become mature and abundantly fruitful in preparation for the next season (Eternity).

The wood of the vine has only one use, and that is to produce grapes. That which has to be cut off (discipline for fleshly works) is only fit for burning. (Bema fire judgment.)

Hebrews12:5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him”.

6. For THE LORD DISCIPLINES THE ONE HE LOVES, AND CHASTISES EVERY SON HE RECEIVES."

7. It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

8. If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are ILLIGITIMATE CHILDREN AND NOT SONS.

9. Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?

10. For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.

11. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Hello Expected Imminently,

I'm constantly amazed at God's timing. He knows our needs and provides accordingly.
As I was reading your post, I am reminded of how this wicked flesh shell we are living in cannot produce anything of any value for the Lord, as there is nothing good in the flesh. Romans 7:18.
We must echo John's sentiments from John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
As you mention, the pruning process can be excruciating, but this is very important for our growth. If He is not the one growing us, it is all for naught. There seems to be mostly "man-made" professing believers out there, instead of those truly born out of the Holy Spirit of God.
John 1:12,13
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Good verses you bring out :)
It is only after we've been through chastening from Our Father that we can truly thank Him, knowing He does this out of love and care. This will carry us throughout all eternity. Without it we would be spending eternity as infants! God forbid! We should be praying He prunes/disciplines/chastens us, that more of Him would be revealed in us, and less of us.

Again, thank you :)
Shannon
