Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that the UN should stop the "interference" of Western governments in Middle Eastern affairs, Iranian news agency ISNA reported on Monday.
In a phone call with Ban, Ahmadinejad said: "The time is ripe for the UN Secretary General to play a historic and important role inresovling problems to avoid another catastrophe as those in Iraq and Afghanistan."
The Iranian president also said his country "is ready to play an active role in ending regional problems."

If radioactive material from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant—disabled by the March11 Japan earthquake and tsunami—continues to enter the ocean, marine life could be threatened, experts say.
In the past week, seawater samples taken near the nuclear power plant, on Japan's eastern coast, have shown elevated levels of radioactive isotopes, including cesium 137 and iodine 131, according to the New York Times. (See "Japan Tries to Avert Nuclear Disaster.")

Highly radioactive water has been found leaking from Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean
The contaminated liquid was seeping from a crack found in the concrete pit of the facility's reactor number two.
"The crack was apparently caused by the quake and may have been leaking since then," said Osamu Yokokura of Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), which runs the plant.
Workers were now pouring concrete into the eight-inch fracture, Tepco added.
Sky News correspondent Holly Williams said radiation in the sea near the plant was currently more than 4,000 times the legal limit.
Frightened residents flee as 7.1 quake hits Java
Indonesia has cancelled a tsunami warning after a powerful earthquake struck in the Indian Ocean south of the island of Java.
Coastal areas in parts of Indonesia had been on alert for a small tsunami after the quake struck at 3.06am local time (8.06am NZT) on Monday.
Indonesian authorities reported the quake as being a magnitude 7.1 and striking at a depth of 10km, with its epicentre 293km southwest of Cilacap in central Java.
There are lingering fears in Indonesia after a massive 2004 earthquake which triggered a tsunami that devastated much of the western coast of Aceh, on the northern tip of the island of Sumatra.

The tremors in Israel coincided with reports of an earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter Scale near the Greek island of Crete. The quake struck in the sea 76 miles (120 km) east-northeast of Iraklio, a town on Crete, on Friday, the US Geological Survey said. It was felt as far as Cairo.
West braces for Gadhafi's terror counterpunch
Whether he remains in Libya in some semblance of power or whether he eventually gains asylum in another country, Gadhafi could work through proxies to instigate terror attacks inside Libya – and against Western targets, the analysts fear.
It was similar to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's approach after his military defeat during Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990. Saddam targeted Americans by working closely with jihadist organizations throughout the Middle East. He also collaborated with known al-Qaida affiliates and associated Islamic terror groups.
Gadhafi has been a master at working these groups, which included not only Middle East organizations but the FARC in Latin America and the Irish Republican Army in Ireland.
Following the March 1986 destruction of his SAM sites, for example, Gadhafi the following month had the Abu Nidal Organization plant a bomb on board TWA Flight 840. The bomb tore a hole in the fuselage of the aircraft, killing four Americans and injuring a number of others.
Then on April 5, 1986, he orchestrated the bombing of the LaBelle disco in Berlin, Germany. That blast killed two American servicemen and a civilian, injuring some 200 other people. The U.S. knew Libya was responsible, since it had intercepted communications between the Libyan embassy, called the Libyan People's Bureau, in East Berlin at the time, and Tripoli.

Forgive me for nervously posting about the first 3 ½ years to that Postie site again. They say the first 3 ½ yrs are not Tribulation, only the last 3 ½. I put the following together to bring notice to what happens at the midst of the week.
Here goes, PLEASE delete and correct me where needed.
Picking up on your comment that the Tribulation (Great) is ‘only’ during the last half of the seven. This is highly debateable due to other Scripture – but I will leave that for now and just pick out the bare bones of the FIRST 3 ½ years.
The Tribulation is NOT dependant upon how or when a/c rules; his arrival on the scene is an indicator for the START of the seven. Jesus calls the shot’s, not A/c.
The 70th week Daniel 9:24 (seven years agreed) in its entirety is designed to bring an end to sin and iniquity; to bring in everlasting righteousness, finalise the vision and prophecy and to Anoint the Messiah Jesus. Daniel 9:24.
Biblically, God uses ‘seven’ to demonstrate completion, so too the 70th Week, the Shavuah or ‘seven’ of years is to demonstrate the final years of Gentile rule and to birth Israel’s Messianic Kingdom for 1000 yrs on earth.
It is JESUS alone who has the authority to break the seals and to instigate each and every judgment in an unfolding, and linking sequence of events from start to finish of the entire seven years HE has divided into two sections. We can get our bearings by concentrating on ‘time markers’ in the ‘MIDST OF THE WEEK’. Daniel 9:27.
The message to the 7 Churches are set in PRESENT tense and still apply to ALL the Church. Revelation 1:19. The Lamb and the Seven-Sealed Scroll of Revelation 5:1-14. With the opening of the Seals, the FUTURE tense starts, as the Seven years begins with Rev.6:1
First 3 ½ years.
Events during the first half of the seven includes ‘The Ten Kings World Government’; the sealing of the 144,000 and a world wide revival; the ministry of Elijah; the ministry of the Two Witnesses for 1,260 days; the religious system of Ecclesiastical Babylon.
1)First seal broken. Antichrist is revealed as THE person, singular, a man who will deceive the WHOLE WORLD; the ‘son’ of the counterfeit trinity. Daniel 9:27;Rev.6:1,2; 2Thess2:27. From day one of the seven years, he begins his conquests and removes peace from the whole earth by deception. Law and order will be non existent as the restraining ministry of The Holy Spirit has been ‘taken away’ and anarchy and killings will prevail worldwide.
2)Second seal is broken and there is a world war between the ‘little horn’(a/c) and the 10 kings. Dan.11:40-45; Rev.6:3,4. It is around here A/c receives a death blow and is killed.
3)Third seal is broken and world-wide famine ensues as a direct result of the world-war.Rev.6:5-6.
4)Fourth seal is broken and ¼ of the earths surviving population is destroyed by Sword, Famine, Starvation and wild animals (from lions to bacteria.) Rev.6:7-8.
5) Fifth seal reveals the martyrs slain from the start of the first 3 ½ years saved under the ministry of the 144,000 Jewish servants of God. Thus persecution begins early by Ecclesiastical Babylon Rev.17. They are given white robes and told to rest until others join them in martyrdom and their number is complete.
6)Sixth seal. There is to be another celestial ‘black-out’ (five altogether) and general convulsions throughout creation. Each series of judgments end with these convulsions, starting with an earthquake, vs.12a, followed by a blackout of the sun and moon, followed by a meteor shower vs12b-14. The unsaved finally understand what has been happening; previously they may have been able to explain away what was going on, but with the nature of the sixth seal, they realize they are experiencing the wrath of God. Instead of crying out for salvation, they try to hide from God.

I'm not sure if you heard, but the 7.4 earthquake today was 144000 m from the Fukushima power-plant. Also a Mayan baktun consists of 144000 days, so is it possible that the 144000 Jewish people is symbolic of something else? Or could it be both literal and symbolic?
Also, the 10 kings thing, the WEU is a organization of 10 nations and has "fulfilled it's historical role and is giving over power to the European union"

Anonymous: No, the 10 Kings are the ten horns of the fourth beast of Daniel 7 (I think) also the ten toes of the great image of Daniel.
We EU) are still the feet of clay and iron that is a fragile mix; the ten toes are next.
The 10 kings are NEW and we have all been around for centuries; they only rule for one hour when they fight with a/c and he overthrows 3 of them. So again No, the ten kings are still future to date - not long now I suspect.

Some people claim that the beast that the woman is riding represents the Vatican. They say that the symbolism in that passage matches the geography around the Vatican. I don't know the complete explanation, but in your mind, is there any credibility to that claim?
