Fearless, Comforted, Promised

Fearless: We have God

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV

Fearless: We reveal God

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

Comforted: Our reward is great

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:11-12

Comforted: God will never leave our side

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with youI will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1:5

Comforted: We are not alone

19 Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”
Elijah was afraid[a] and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep.
All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.
The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. There he went into a cave and spent the night.

The Lord Appears to Elijah

And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
15 The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. 16 Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet. 17 Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu. 18 Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”

The Call of Elisha

19 So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him. 20 Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah. “Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye,” he said, “and then I will come with you.”
“Go back,” Elijah replied. “What have I done to you?”
21 So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant.

1 Kings 19

Promises: His return for His Bride

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

John 14: 1-3

Promises: The future

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of Godgives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I had been looking for that passage re elijah based on a conversation i had with my mom. Sometimes its hard being in Christian circles with people who have no interest in prophecy or these days we are living in. Elijah had that same sense when God proved him wrong with Elissa and the other God fearing people. As fas as the other scriptures- some that we may need in the coming weeks.

I just want to say that I am so happy with this site. I don't know many Christians that are interested in Bible Prophecy. It's sort of frustrating, it's hard to believe that if you're a a Christian....you wouldn't have an interest in prophecy.

Mike, Daniel 12:1 is talking about Michael the Archangel, who is the restrainer mentioned in 2 Thess 2:7. The time of trouble in Daniel 12:1 is the "time of Jacob's trouble", which is named in Jeremiah 30:7, and talked about by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse and by Paul in Thessalonians. This is the great tribulation. Note the conditions that Paul places on the emergence of the revealing of the Antichrist and the timing of the Day of the Lord.

Thanks Scott for the encouraging scripture! Be blessed! Your work is greatly appreciated! I usually show up here 2-3 times every day.

I agree it is frustrating that so few have an interest in what is occurring in our world regarding the return of Christ. We are ultra-excited and we usually get a collective yawn form our brothers an sisters in Christ.

I mentioned to a millennial (solid believing brother) in my church all that is taking place regarding the build up to the tribulation recently and hence the return of Jesus and his response was, "what occurrences"? He literally had no idea. I didn't even attempt to explain. I had no idea where to begin with someone so utterly clueless.

Thanks WV. - i think many of us share those feelings. But we are in very very good company as most of the prophets went through similar experiences - as seen above with Elijah and Jeremiah also cones to mind just to name two. And as stated in Damiel 12 "only the wise will understand"

Scott, Thank You!!! Not sure what's getting ready to happen but something is definitely getting ready to pop off big time. And maybe it's going to be many things together or in rapid succession...kind of disturbing. I'm not really prepared physically unfortunately but I'm concentrating on spiritual preparedness. No matter what, I know he won't desert us.
I love you all and can't wait to meet you in the air. Be blessed!!!!!!!!

Amen Ally - thanks - the best way to prepare is spiritually, IMO :)
