UNSC may vote on Palestinian statehood in early November
This article not only contains an update to the situation, but some of the lingering issues are also clarified:
The Palestinian quest for UN membership is likely to come to a head on or around Nov. 11, when Security Council ambassadors plan a final meeting to decide their response, diplomats said on Wednesday.
The date represents a delay in dealing with the Palestinian application, submitted by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Sept. 23, amid hopes that indirect Israeli-Palestinian talks scheduled for next week could get a peace process off the ground.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin on Wednesday, thanking her for Colombia's opposition to the Palestinian statehood bid.
Membership is formally approved by the 193-nation General Assembly but that requires a Security Council recommendation.
"The 11th (of November) will probably be the end of the Security Council consideration process, one way or the other," a senior council diplomat said following a meeting of envoys on Tuesday that agreed to a timetable. "If the Palestinians want a vote, there will be a vote."
International mediators will meet separately with Israeli and Palestinian officials on Oct. 26 in Jerusalem to try to revive direct peace talks.
Many analysts, however, think a breakthrough is unlikely, with the Palestinians continuing to reject direct talks unless Israel halts settlement activities and Israel refusing to do so.
While the Palestinian application looks certain to fail in the council, Abbas has made a major effort to attract nine votes in support -- which would oblige the United States to use its veto and be seen by Palestinians as a moral victory. To pass, council resolutions need nine votes and no vetoes.
Diplomats currently expect eight council members to back the Palestinians and six to vote against or abstain. There is uncertainty over Bosnia, the three members of whose collective presidency -- Muslim, Serb and Croat -- disagree over which way to vote, diplomats say.
If the application fails in the council, the Palestinians could ask the General Assembly to upgrade their status to "nonmember state" observer, which would not require council endorsement. That would imply UN recognition of statehood and could help the Palestinians join international bodies.

It just seems that no matter the outcome, this whole situation will ensue violent protests. If Palestine gets recognized, then Israel will protest. If they don't, then Palestinians will take to the streets. Everything in the world is so volatile, you can just feel it. Like at any moment, someone's going to look at someone else the wrong way, then BOOM. I'm so ready to go home, it's not even funny.
Jesus, make us bold to share the gospel so that others don't have to endure the judgment that is almost here.
What an awesome privilege to live in a time such as this -- the eyes of the LORD are ALWAYS upon His people! Brethren he appointed us to live in the last days that we might be bold in sharing our faith with a dying world that is about to face the wrath of the Lamb.
Invest your talents wisely, because at an hour you do not expect the Son of Man cometh! Maranatha!
STOCKS are down again.....but not
by much. This market appears to
be moving sideways, getting ready
for more BULLING. Wave counts
indicate a (c) rally dead ahead.
I am sad to say that, but i must
face reality. I am hoping that
this RALLY will be over by 31
OCT 2011, looks like it.
We will see.
That is the bad news.
the GOOD news is that a HUGE (3)
down in stocks will hit AFTER
this rally is over.
That means we may FINALLY start
seeing a serious crisis hit this
world.
stay tuned.

Scott, go back like 2 or 3 years. From what was going on then, would you have thought that Palestine becoming a state or any of these signs would be happening with this intensity this soon?

What I find the most amazing these days (in terms of what I didn't expect to see on this side of the Rapture) is the nearness of a world-governance system based on what I believe is a coming single currency (based on SDRs via the IMF) - the world-wide push for a totalitarianism form of government and a single financial system....This has all happened in just the last 2-3 years.
I can recall teaching prophecy and really having to work hard to make that case, and now its so easy because most folks have been reading about these things daily.
The Middle East developments isn't that surprising to me personally, because I always felt that we'd see the very beginning of the end there, pretty much as we are - BUT
Having said that - I never expected to see the specificity around what seems to be the set-up for Psa 83/Isa 17 coming - with Syria directly threatening Israel with missiles (most likely chemical) and Israel threatening to retaliate as if Nukes had been unleashed - and then the specificity of the Gog-MaGog set-up with N Africa falling to radical Islam, and the strong alliance between Turkey-Iran-Russia that we have seen
So in summary, what has really surprised me, is the world economic situation and the calls for single financial system with a single world governance and the incredible specificity of the Middle East - particularly in light of the "Arab Spring" which has escalated things at warp speed.
Those things have really taken me by surprise, and one more thing, as I have been mentioning a lot lately - is how EVERY development that we are seeing in the world today - is pointing towards the coming Tribulation and setting the stage for that, Its really amazing.,
Hey, its so nice to hear from you and I hope things are going well for you !
Yeah, sorry I haven't been more active on here lately, I've been reading the blog but lately I've been too busy with school and stuff to comment.
Also, since most of the general public has forgotten about the whole unsc vote situation, will the USA still veto? Or will they no longer feel the obligation to veto because the general public isn't voicing their opinion anymore and probably, quite frankly, don't care about it anymore?
I forgot to mention this, it is VERY IMPORTANT for students of
Elliott Wave Theory. And it RELATES
directly to where this world is in
terms of crisis development...
Here it is >>>>>>
the most IMPORTANT character of a third wave in ANY market according
to RN Elliott is that third waves
TEND to be powerful and decisive.
THAT EXPLAINS why nothing major
has happenned yet with the big
prophecies we are all waiting for.
We need to GET this number (3)
going on the downside.....
that is (3) of 3 circle.
Anyone who thinks I do NOT know
know what I am talking about ??
hey, then please explain to me WHY
nothing big has happenned yet.
I have played this stock game since
OCT 1974. I have learned alot.
Trust me, if you want to see big
fireworks, then you need to wait
for this (3) down.
I would say we are one to two weeks
away from this, it will be here
soon.

Stephen the "fireworks" IMO will come after the rapture. Jesus own words about coming back as in the Days of Noah and as a thief in the night indicate both surprise element and business as ususal. What we are seeing now is stage setting for the two biblical wars and tribulation period. We are seeing tons of activity but I believe the big "tipping Point" may very well be the rapture of the church.
The stage is essentially set and it all seems to be coming to a head. Time to be looking up and praying and witnessing like never before.
The stock market is not the place to be looking IMO...it would crash in a day if the church departs for home.
