Assad warns of 'earthquake' if West intervenes in Syria"
Any problem in Syria will burn whole region," Syrian president tells 'Sunday Telegraph'
Western powers risk causing an "earthquake" that would burn the Middle East if they intervened in Syria, President Bashar Assad said in an interview with Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper.
"Syria is the hub now in this region. It is the fault line, and if you play with the ground you will cause an earthquake," he said.
"Any problem in Syria will burn the whole region. If the plan is to divide Syria, that is to divide the whole region," Assad said.
Assad's comments came as Arab ministers said on Friday they had sent an urgent message calling on him to end seven months of violence against civilians following the killing of 40 pro-democracy demonstrators by Syrian forces.
The prophetic implications are obvious. Something will trigger the battles leading to Isaiah 17 and ultimately Gog-MaGog.
The region continues to heat up by the day - soon enough the powder keg will be ignited.

At the risk of being off topic... has anyone ever looked into the other cities built on 7 hills?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_claimed_to_be_built_on_seven_hills
Just sayin'
Dr WHo
What matters is what was "in play" at the time of John's writing and what would have been a "known" City on seven hills at that time, and what would have been known to the people at that time. For instance, that rules out "NEvada City California" and a host of others on this list or "Cincinnati Ohio"..So the list is misleading in that regard
Its curious to me that this list didn't mention Bonn, Germany, as it has 7 distinct "hills" which surround the city and in that region many people refer to it as such. It interested me because it sits on the Rhine, and it is where EU Recommendation 666 was written.
Having said that, I believe it is Rome, for a variety of reasons, not just that its the city on seven hills.
Scott, what is this 666 REC about ?? Please elaborate,
ALSO, please go here >>>

You will like this one alot, with SA involved.

ELLIOTT WAVE COUNTS continue to
suggest that bulls ARE walking
on eggs, so to speak.
There are WAY TOO many pension
funds involved on the bull side
of this market.
Very sad that they FIND the NEED
to gamble with people's retirement
money. also, very foolish, since
AFTER the coming crash, waves of
recrimination will HIT these
pension fund managers where
they will FEEL maximum pain.
But they do not care; they are
GREEDY as always.

That's an excellent point, Scott, about the cities with 7 hills. I'll have to google the EU Recomendation 666 as its a term unfamiliar to me.
I actually ran across that list yesterday, DrWho as I'm rethinking my earlier stance of a literal interpretation of Babylon to a symbolic one.
It is the number of a MAN, this
guy, whoever he is.....the AC...
and it might be Javier Solana, but
I am not sure.
It could also be Sarkozy....or
Amrani.......
All I know is that his number
computes to 666.....so it appears
to be a PERSONAL TRAIT of him
somehow....
Scott, do you KNOW anyone out
there that would compute like
that ?? Please tell me...
Stephen >>>>>
Stephen, the ACs real, birth-given name will have to be either Hebrew or Greek in order to properly add up to 666, **AND** he won't be publicly known by his real name except for a few of his close "friends", until he's actually revealed as the AC when he defiles the Temple @ 3.5yrs into the Trib!
I think that the woman is Rome.
In Revelation 17: 18 it says "And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth."
Revelation was written during the time of the roman empire, right? So at that time Rome would fit that description perfectly.
Dr. No Fog......excuse me, but you
are WRONG about that, he will be
known as soon as he SETS up the 7 year agreement with Israel....
remember DAN 9 27
Stephen >>>>>>>>>>
Stephen, I think you misunderstand. The Rapture will have taken place prior to the covenant being signed. We'll be gone, so can't point out who just signed the treaty is the AC. Those initial Tribulation saints will be rare at first and will be ignored as the great deception overtakes the world. The Jews won't even know he's the AC until, as DrNo pointed out, the Abomination of Desolation occurs midway through the Tribulation. So while it will be apparent to to some who the AC is from the beginning of the Trib . . .the overwhelming majority of the population will be in apathetic oblivion just thankful for the "peace" and the disappearance of all the pesky Christians that reminded them of their sins.
Robin, you may be right about the
rapture timing, BUT as i have stated
SO MANY TIMES, there are two views
on 2 THESS 2, we will find out
soon I am sure the real truth.
But let's be honest ok ?? There
will be many people who WILL
figure this guy out for the deceptive
creep he really is pretty quick,
i am sure.
SCOTT PLEASE GO HERE >>>>
This is serious
something may really happen with
Syria soon, PROBLEM is a miscalculation from either the
UN or Assad...very dangerous.
it is on YAHOO front page...!!!!

Stephen >>>>>>>>>>>
It won't be a miscalculation. The US is actively building a Caliphate in the MIddle East and dictators won't quit if we simply ask.
Anon- I hope you and I are wrong and Robin is right. However, Christians are promised that we will be persecuted for His Name. We are also promised that we will be spared His wrath. That sounds like we could still be here for 3.5 of persecution and out of here for 3.5 of wrath.
I still hope we aew wrong :-)
Dr Who >>>> I doubt it...
remember what Scott said about the Jewish Wedding model ?? 7 days in
the bridal chamber, 1 day for each
year.....please DO NOT forget that.
Stephen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Scott, with Islam rapidly increasing in all sectors, how do you see it when the false shepherd comes to power? Do you think he will merge it with other faiths to create a new religion? Or will it be diminished greatly after the ME conflict?
7 Palestinians get dronedby Israel.
The wrath of God is poured out for 7 years not just 3.5. In addition we know from Daniel the tribulation is the final week or 7 years and it is all about Israel and the Jeewish people and not the church. We depart prior to the start of the trib as we read in II Thessalonians 2: 1-9.
In fact based on all we have been reading here and today's headline on Syria bringing us potentially to the doorstep of Isaiah 17 it is looking more like sooner rather than later.
Heading out to my grandson's dedication this morning with my family in tow. Thank you Jesus for baby Samuel. God is good.
Maranatha!
DrWho, there were more Christians persecuted in the 20th Century than any other period in Christian history . . .at the current pace the 21st century is set to break that record. Christians are already being persecuted.
Stephen, I don't know to what you're referring to, but can tell you, WE are the bride. According to ancient Jewish wedding practices, the bride didn't have a clue when the groom would arrive to bring her to his Father's home as he had to complete his marriage home at his Father's house first. (homes were like compounds of homes where sons remained in a separate dwelling within the compound and reared their families)
Our bridegroom, Jesus, said he was leaving to prepare a place for us . . .then will bring us home and the wedding feast will commence. The seven days in the bridal chamber simply means . . .we'll be with the Lord seven years before the Second Coming when He returns to Earth.
EU recommendation 666 is the EU rule that gave the foreign policy head the power to make war and other things...many people linked it to Solana and believed that this gave him (when he held that position) the powers that the AC would have....I don't believe it - as DrNo points out. But Recommendation 666 was written at a conference Center in Bonn that sits on one of the 7 hills (I can't think if the name of it right now, but the name of this place is referenced in Rec 666. becauuse that is where it was written
I always thought this was an interesting footnote because I had a business dinner at that conference center years ago, and at this dinner people were telling me that Bonn was called the "city on 7 hills" and it was kind of interesting.
But that all. Rome, IMO fits the bill.
Oops . . .also meant to include above . . .according to Jewish tradition, the bride and groom remained in the wedding chamber for seven days getting to know each other, before coming out. Remember . . .dating was prohibited and still is in many cultures today.
Dylan, yea - thats another reason I believe its rome..
Plus, with ANY other location, John wouldn't have had to hide the real name of the city, but if he had said Rome specifically, while in Patmos, he would have been in BIG trouble.
DrWho said "...That sounds like we could still be here for 3.5 of persecution and out of here for 3.5 of wrath..."
Ahaaaaa! Here's the definitive 'proof' that DrWho is not my alter-ego!
I was raised in a "good" Catholic home, believed in God, Jesus crucified & resurrected for us, & that I wasn't ready to get too close to either one of them until much later in life.
While I was in the mil. my dad got up & took his family out of the RCC when a priest blasphemed in his "sermon" shortly after MLK got offed, saying that if MLK had lived 2000yrs ago we wouldn't be in the mess we're in today. Wow!
Dad found a small, Bible believing church close by and when I came home, I found out what a Bible was for & got saved shortly thereafter.
I knew nothing about the Bible, theology & prophecy [being a good Catholic & all], so when our Baptist pastor started talking all this nonsense about a "rapture" & a 1000yr kingdom back on earth [of all places], I began to question where he was getting all this stuff from.
After all, we were supposed to go thru purgatory & then remain in Heaven forever after, not return to any old earth...
So the recommended books at the time ['71] was a Schofield Bible & 'Things To Come' by J. Dwight Pentecost [a very fat book].
I figgered I had enough inherited grey matter from my scientist dad to find some holes in Pentecost's stuff...
I pains-takingly poured over the book trying to pick apart this Rapture idea. Every argument that I could conger up had already been handled in such minute detail that I was thoroughly PTR when I finished it.
Now, after almost 40yrs, I have still yet to see any argument [including the mid & post-Trib rapture POVs] that can poke a hole in the PTR position.
[we go up 1st...and no AC 'revealed' til after we're gone...]
;-D
Wow - DrNo - very interesting...."Things to Come" is a masterpiece, and one of my early readings as well.
Trying to figure out the Rapture (even tho I came from a Baptist background) was my first prophecy task and like you - the evidence for pre-trib is overwhelming, especially when compared to the other 'options'....as you say
Q:Does Damascus go away before or after Rapture?
DrWho
That's anybody's guess IMO. Since the Rapture is an imminent event it's hard to say. I do believe we're gone before Gog-MaGog, and through pure speculation, I'd say its 50/50 on Isa 17.
I think I'll request "Things to Come" for Christmas! Thanks for that tip, DrNo!
Alice,
Its great and one of the best, but I'd still have to give the nod to "Footsteps of the Messiah" by Fruchtenbaum as slightly better - mainly because its much more recent "Things" is decades old - its still great, don;t get me wrong. But if I were to invest in one of the classics, I';d go with "Footsteps". Can't go wrong with either however
Very well...I'll request BOTH! ;)
As always, thank you, Scott!
