Saudi Prince: No relations with Israel until return to '67 borders
Saudi Arabian Prince Turki al-Faisal spoke about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Iran's influence in Lebanon, the sources of terrorism, and prospects of his own country forming normalized relations with Israel, at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington on Thursday.
Faisal, a former Saudi intelligence minister and ambassador to the US, is considered to be a candidate to succeed his brother, Saud al-Faisal, as Saudi foreign minister, according to a Washington Post report.
Describing the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as "the cause of numerous threats to peace and prosperity" around the globe, Faisal offered his own prescriptions for peace in the region, based on the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. He said that the key to peace is an Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 borders, which he interpreted UN Security Council Resolution 242 as demanding. Faisal said that, numerous UN resolutions have been passed since 1967, "yet peace peace has remained elusive and the conflict has been enlarged and spread like a cancer across borders."
As mentioned before, I offer the following question.
If a return to the 1967 borders is so vital to the peace process, and if such a return to these borders is a simple fix -- then WHY did the surrounding anti-Israeli arab groups invade when these borders were in place?
The reality is - a return to the '67 borders isn't a recipe for peace, its a recipe for a perfect military set-up to destroy Israel.
The New Republican House and Israel
...the Republican sweep of the House of Representatives on November 2 is expected to help strengthen that support. Several pro-Israel Republicans in Congress will now have control over important committees in the House of Representatives, where legislation concerning Israel's national security interests will become a stronger focus.
Rather than waiting to see whether U.S. President Barack Obama approves new legislation vis-à-vis his foreign policy initiatives, these House Republicans will take strong action, when necessary, and challenge the Obama administration regarding its wavering support of Israel.
Some Jewish leaders, however, think that certain new Republican senators will push back against Obama's pressure on Israel and look to level the playing field when it comes to approving U.S. military support for Israel's enemies
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, a staunch supporter of Israel, will become House Majority Leader in the next Congress. He will be holding the highest ranking post a Jew has ever held in Congress.
According to The Israel Project (TIP), Cantor has also cosponsored legislation that would end U.S. taxpayer aid to the Palestinian Authority until it stops its culture of hate toward Israel. He also wants to see an end to unauthorized WAQF excavations of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, which are encouraged and supported by the Palestinian Authority.
One of the greatest examples of success in this election, according to Pollack, came when Republican Patrick Toomey defeated Democratic Senator Joe Sestak of Pennsylvania. Pollack mentioned that Sestak has been active in supporting CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which is considered a U.S. Muslim front organization that indirectly helps finance terrorist groups. Speaking about Sestak, Pollack admitted, "We're very pleased he was not elected."

Hello Scott
Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gun powder, treason and plot!
Fireworks tonight in many gardens across the land with roaring Bonfires with a ‘Guy’ sat on top being burned. It is a national day of ‘thanksgiving’ for being delivered from the gunpowder plot, when the Catholics tried to blow up Parliament and King James I of England, VI of Scotland, in 1605 (him of the KJV Bible). As I write world war 3 appears to be erupting with explosions and flashes thither and yon.
Nothing much changes does it!
Maranatha!

Thats so right - War is just on the horizon - I'm still very surprised it didn't break out this summer. But it will happen according to God's timing - I believe He is keeping the lid in place until then...But war could break out at almost any moment IMO.

I agree, and like you, I believe Scripture says the 'birth pangs' began with the 2WW’s (nation against nation etc) AFrucht also believes it is what clearly points to the nearness of the 2nd coming. Otherwise, these entire goings on with Israel mean nothing at all prophetically.
I was reading T.Ice who said we Pre-tribs place the pangs either inter-advent? i.e. between the 1st and 2nd Coming; or, like him and R.Showers, they start with the 7 years. He quotes AF who is obviously neither, and to me makes perfect sense. However I am more interested in the truth and being scripturally accurate. I would willingly change my mind if I saw Biblical evidence to support their view, but so far I haven’t seen any evidence at all.
Do you know of other scholars who agree with AF?
E.g I have heard of Dr.Robert L.Dean, I have looked at his site which is very interesting with his knowledge of Greek and Hebrew, but I would have to listen to 100’s of audio’s to find out specifically where he places the birth pangs.
Do you know oh wise man of the oracle? :)
God bless

I have managed to listen to the position R.D. takes on this. He is obviously a seriously clever man who claims the birthpangs start after the a/c sets up an image in the Temple. He concentrates on what the 'end' means in the Greek.
He says what happens during the Church age may be similar, but that doesn't mean the same.
He compares Matt 24 with the seals and trumpets which in my opinion is not at all convincing. He presents as evidence what boils down to what he warns of, which is 'similar' but not the 'same'.
So I can honestly say I cannot agree with the conclusions of this very talented Bible teacher.
As for the content of your article; the Palis are backing a very sticky wicket aiming to do what the rest of the world did with the Jews; look where it got us. They are heading for a serious fall sooner rather than later imo.

I know that Hal Lindsey and Perry Stone believe that Matthew 24 speaks to the entire generation (not just to the 7-year Tribulation) - whether that translates into their believing (along with AF) wWI and WWII specifically started the generation or not, I'm not sure.
To me, its just a matter of the data - and I see prophecy scriptures lined up against currents as very much a "data driven" exercise. If you look at the WWI era and the WWII era - we had a huge spike in ALL the "beginning of birth pains" signs. Couple that, with the previous uses of the idiom "Nation against Nation, Kingdom against Kingdom", you can make a compelling case that that translates to World War, in the proper context of Matt 24.
So the two biggest wars of world history were WWI and WWII - so that covers war.
If you look at the world-wide problem with famine during those same eras - famine spiked in unprecedented numbers both as a result of the wars themselves (refugees etc) - but also in other parts of the world, not so directly involved in the wars.
Same with Pestilence. In fact, towards the end of WWI - we had the Spanish Flu which may have killed between 50-100 million (numbers vary widely depending on what you read) - and there were many man other extreme pandemics in both eras.
And last but not least major earthquakes (>6) spiked during these war periods.
So for me, (and AF) - the data perfectly fit the scriptures. And also of interest, it was just after WWII that Israel was formed "in a day" - and there is a reference to this happening just after seeing birth pains (Isa 66).
I can't see this any other way. Plus the most common use of "genea" - generation - is a lifespan - and the signs - which have been increasing in both frequency and severity have been ongoing since that time.
And - last but not least - if we are correct - then we are very rapidly approaching the end of this generation :)

Thank you so much for this, I have copied it to word.
I have just found a Messianic site; I cannot vouch for anything else about them, but the link will take you to an article I found encouraging. They believe the birth pangs have begun.
“…Moreover, we have been through some of the "birthpangs of Mashiach," those awesome events that have taken place in our generation (Israel as Nation, Jerusalem as its capital, Sanhedrin established, the war in Iraq, etc). It is now clear and obvious that we are standing at the threshold of the Redemption…”

I have always found Hal Lindsey is well worth listening to; but I must say that I give Perry Stone as wide a berth as possible!
Thanks again
Every blessing

Well, I can understand that about ole Perry - but he does have some interesting nuggets and he does do a good job as far as parallels between the old test. and the new test. He's a little wacky and I don't go for all the "charismatic" stuff, but the older I get the less inclined I am to 'throw out the baby with the bath water' - I try to get info from almost every source. I don't agree with everything he says, but I can say that about a lot of folks who provide some useful info.
Some sites refuse to use Debka - because there have been times in which they were wrong - but its still useful information and they are right a lot more than they are wrong. I like to take info from as many sources as possible, and then look at the "preponderance of data/information". I don't want to exclude potentially useful info for those reasons...
Having said all of that - there was an article floating around somewhere - describing a small UK town that was "taken over" by the military in order to stage some kind of military exercises...Did you read about that?
Scott
No I hadn't heard about that? I shall have a shufty!
I totally understand what you say about PS!
My own concern is to avoid those who mix and match truth and error for the sake of new, or vulnerable, believers who will be hurt and confused by the deception.
Prevention being better than cure and all that.
God bless you

Shufty sorted. BBC Devon
Marines take over Lympstone village as part of exercise
A village in east Devon has played host to an armed forces exercise.
The Royal Marines took over Lympstone to learn how to respond to the changing nature of foreign conflict.
Exercise Final Nail 10, organised by Lympstone Commando Centre, is thought to be the first military operation involving an entire village.
Major Will Norcott said: "We're trying to expose young officers to the complexity of operation in amongst a real civilian population."
Most of the Royal Marines taking part in the exercise are preparing to go to Afghanistan.
Second Lieutenant Tom Lucy said: "It's good to come to places like this and practice.
"You've got the civilian population, you've got the potential insurgents, so it's really good experience for us."
