Are these news stories linked in any way?

First, we had the massive cluster of birds literally falling from the sky in Arkansas:

Preliminary autopsies on 17 of the up to 5,000 blackbirds that fell on this town indicate they died of blunt trauma to their organs, the state's top veterinarian told NBC News on Monday.

Their stomachs were empty, which rules out poison, Dr. George Badley said, and they died in midair, not on impact with the ground.

Residents of the small town of Beebe awoke Saturday to find thousands of dead blackbirds littering a 1.5-square-mile area. The birds inexplicably dropped dead, landing on homes, cars and lawns.

Then, relatively close by, a massive number of dead fish mysteriously appear:

Arkansas Game & Fish is trying to figure out why 100,000 fish in Northwest Arkansas turned up dead. They were found along a 20-mile stretch between the Ozark Dam and Highway 109 Bridge in Franklin County.

The 20-mile stretch along the Arkansas River where an estimated 100,000 drum fish were found washed ashore and floating looks much different now.

Then we saw a similar report from the Chesapeake Bay see here, where "tens of thousands" of dead fish washed onto shore.

Next came the reports of "mass" number of birds falling out of the sky in Louisiana:

The discovery of the dead birds — some of which were lying face down, clumped in groups, while others were face up with their wings outstretched and rigid legs pointing upward — comes just three days after more than 3,000 blackbirds rained down from the sky in Beebe, Ark.

Then, in an even more bizarre twist as hundreds of TONS of dead fish piled up in Brazil:

A survey conducted by the Federation of Fishermen's Colony of Paraná, Paranaguá on the coast of the state, indicates that at least 100 tons of fish (sardine, croaker and catfish) have turned up dead since last Thursday off the coast of Parana.

"On Thursday we began to realize very dead fish. Only one community came to bury 15 tons. We are experiencing a very sad situation on the coast, "reports.

Apart from Paranagua, Ferreira said the dead fish are starting to appear in other coastal towns. "The dead fish are going to Antonina, and Guaraqueçaba Pontal do Paraná. We need an urgent solution to this, "he warns.

Are all of these events coincidental? Perhaps, but as these occurrences are reported from very different areas around the world, that is becoming harder to accept.

No one knows, at this point, exactly what is happening, but as the stories mount it is becoming more and more interesting and worth watching.

UPDATE: Fox News is now reporting that Sweden is just reporting large numbers of dead birds falling from the sky - we'll watch this story as it develops.

Update: Dead Birds. Natural occurrence (?)

The last article underscores one interesting point. We are being told that these are 'coincidental' occurrences and explanations such as lightening, fireworks, and storms seem woefully weak, particularly as these events have happened in diverse locations, and at different times. In fact, these weak explanations serve to only add more intrigue to this evolving situation.
