6.2 Quake Hits Indian Ocean, After 6.5 Hits Mid-Atantic Ridge



M6.2 earthquake shakes the Indian Ocean 20 hours after M6.5 quake hits central Mid-Atlantic Ridge



Within the last 20 hours, two strong earthquakes struck remote regions around the world.
Everything started with a shallow M6.5 earthquake along the central Mid-Atlantic Ridge on August 30, 2020 at 9:20 P.M. (UTC).The strong tremor hit at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles) ...

About 20 hours later, on August 31, 2020, 5:24 P.M. (UTC), the second shallow M6.2 quake hit Chagos Archipelago region in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
The shaking hit at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles) and was reported by 4 people on the USGS webpage.
