Immersed in Signs

The signs are all around us - and we see them on a daily basis. I've said this before but it is worth repeating - we see more signs now, on a daily basis, than we used to see in a 6 month period. If you have followed prophecy over the past several decades, then you know what I mean. Just take a look at a single day's worth of news:

The Orontes River runs red as Syrian anti-aircraft guns pound Hama

Horrifying images of bodies and limbs floating in the Orontes River in Hama were aired by Syrian state television early Thursday, Aug. 4. Contrary to official claims that they belonged to Syrian soldiers torn to pieces by protesters, DEBKAfile reports they are the victims of Syrian tank fire and ZU-23 automatic anti-aircraft artillery trained on residential buildings and streets in the last 48 hours as the dead pile up in the streets.

US borrowing tops 100% of GDP

US debt has shot up $US238 billion ($A221.54 billion) to reach 100 per cent of gross domestic product after the government's debt ceiling was lifted, Treasury figures show.

Treasury borrowing jumped on Tuesday, the data showed, immediately after President Barack Obama signed into law an increase in the debt ceiling as the country's spending commitments reached a breaking point and it threatened to default on its debt.

China warns U.S. on managing its debt

The comments from People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan, posted on the central bank's website, signal China's lingering concern over America's financial health. China is the U.S.' largest foreign creditor, holding at least $1.16 trillion in Treasury securities.

Capacity to solve EU debt crisis in doubt

The European Union acknowledged on Wednesday investors now doubt whether the eurozone can overcome its debt crisis and Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi called for more action to ward off market attacks.

Somalia famine spreads to three new regions

The United Nations said Wednesday that famine has spread to three more regions of Somalia, warning that acute malnutrition is expected to persist across the southern part of the country through the end of the year.

Salmonella superbug on the rise

A strain of Salmonella resistant to the most powerful antibiotics has been found in the UK, France and Denmark.

The outbreak emerged in Africa then spread to Europe, picking up antibiotic resistance along the way, says a team of international researchers. They are calling on health officials to step up monitoring to stop the "superbug" spreading globally.

As Sun Storms Ramp Up, Electric Grid Braces For Impact

Storms are brewing about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) away, and if one of them reaches Earth, it could knock out communications, scramble GPS, and leave thousands without power for weeks to months.
The electrical power grid is particularly vulnerable to these extra currents, which can infiltrate high-voltage transmission lines, causing transformers to overheat and possibly burn out.

"The concern is if the electric grid lost a number of transformers during a single storm, replacing them would be difficult and time-consuming," said Rich Lordan, senior technical executive for power delivery and utilization at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

Volcano watchers raise alert status for Mount Cleveland

Signs of lava at Mount Cleveland prompted volcanologists to raise their alert level Tuesday afternoon for the Aleutian Islands volcano.

Air Force Suspends Christian-Themed Ethics Training Program Over Bible Passages

The Air Force has suspended a course that was taught by chaplains for more than 20 years because the material included Bible passages.

Tariq Ramadan Openly Calls for a Muslim colonization of the U.S.

"It should be us, with our understanding of Islam, our principles, colonizing the United States of America." Tariq Ramadan, the silver-tongiued snake and grandson of Hasan al-Banna, who founded the Muslim Brotherhood, loved by leftists, academics and the ummah (of course) spoke in Texas.

Tariq Ramadan was in Dallas at the end of July, invited by Muslim Brotherhood-tied ICNA. During a speech, he openly asked for a Muslim colonization of the U.S.

How the Debt Ceiling Deal Endangers National Security

Debate on the “Debt Ceiling” crisis has almost entirely ignored one major point – perhaps THE major point.
That is how will this deal impact US national security, and by extension, international security.

U.S. eats up most of the debt limit in one day

U.S. debt shot up $239 billion on Tuesday — the largest one-day bump in history — as the government flexed the new borrowing room it earned in this week’s debt-limit increase deal.

Weekly initial jobless claims at 400K

Fascism Rising: Debt Hike Opponents Barred from "Super Congress"

'Senators who voted against the debt ceiling hike will be barred from being on the panel of the unconstitutional “Super Congress,” as the Washington elite ensures all roadblocks to crippling tax increases and other planned assaults on the constitution are removed.

According to The Weekly Standard, Republican sources have confirmed that the likes of Rand Paul, Jim DeMint and other fiscal conservatives will be dismissed as choices for the new super committee partly as a punishment for their failure to back the debt hike and most importantly to prevent any obstacles to the committee passing tax hikes and entitlement cuts.'

IDF launches air strike in Gaza after rockets land in south Israel

The Israel Defense Forces launched an air strike early Thursday against two Gaza city training facilities operated by the armed wing of the Islamist militant movement Hamas, witnesses and officials said.

Israeli sources: Arab Spring let Palestinians ramp up Gaza arms smuggling

In the past months, Hamas has acquired improved rockets, ready-made explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and possibly anti-aircraft missiles, say Israeli defense officials.

In the past few months, Hamas has acquired improved high-trajectory rockets, ready-made explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and possibly anti-aircraft missiles, the sources told Haaretz.

Persecution on the Rise

Just look at the number of stories describing persecution occurring around the world. There are too many article titles to list.

Gaza missiles strike deeper into Israel

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip late Wednesday night fired two long-range GRAD missiles into southern and central Israel.

The first missile exploded on the outskirts of the town of Kiryat Gat, which is at the southern end of Israel's densely populated central region.
The second landed within the city limits of the southern port of Ashkelon.

Israeli officials said they view the attacks as an escalation of violence, as GRAD missiles are far more accurate than the Palestinians' locally-produced Kassam rockets, can travel much further, and carry a larger payload.

Barroso raises alarm about severity of euro crisis

The top official in a letter sent to EU leaders on Wednesday (3 August) and made public by the commission on Thursday said new bailout measures agreed by the 17 eurozone countries in July "are not having their intended effect on the markets", after the cost of borrowing for Italy and Spain spiraled this week.

He added: "Whatever the factors behind the lack of success, it is clear that we are no longer managing a crisis just in the euro-area periphery. Euro-area financial stability must be safeguarded."

Is that enough for one single day in the news?

Sometimes we get desensitized at these news, as they occur daily now. But occasionally is it worthwhile to take a step back and look at the overall picture of the world that we are living in, at this very moment in history.

It is truly amazing. All one has to do is read the Olivet Discourse, Daniel 2,7 and 9, and Ezekiel 38-39 (not to mention the book of Revelation) - and then compare the scriptures to the daily news from around the world.

Jesus said that we should know the signs and have awareness of our position in biblical prophecy - in other words, He urged us to know the signs of this generation, so that we could prepare and be ready for His coming.

The signs are unequivocally here. There is no doubting that.

That means one thing - its a simple matter of connecting the dots - Jesus will be here soon.

It is time to prepare for that moment. That moment in which we come face to face with Jesus Himself.

He will be here soon. He made a definitive promise on that, and we can never ever doubt the promises of Jesus.

Maranatha!

  3. Nivea, the German company that offers skin care products, had renamed the country of Israel as the "Palestinian Territories" on their global map. That is until enough people got word of this and pressured the company to restore the name of Israel. The nation of Israel is now listed on their website as of today. But so is Palestinian Territories.

  4. Wow you got that right Caver. It has bounced up a bit from the 350 drop but it looks like it is in a downward spiral.

Scott, the number of prophecy related news articles is staggering. I think you are right in the danger of becoming desensitized. We are bombared daily with so much that unless it is a major event it barley grabs our attention.

I am of course speaking of biblically literate folks who are prophecy watchers. Others believers and certainly non-Christians are pretty much clueless on what, when and how events fit prophetically.

The super congress of 12 leaving out senators who voted against the recent legislation is a joke. I am sure we will see 6 RINO's and 6 left leaning liberals on the committee. I am so glad we are soon departing. I can't imagine being here much longer or worse yet having to live during the tribulation period. It will be beyond evil if that is possible!

Praying for those who are on the fence! "Cast all your cares on Jesus, for He cares for you."

  7. ok, I know Jesus is returning soon, he is going to Rapture the church soon and we will be with him forever!

I want to know..please tell me, what must I do to be prepared 100% for Him. I don't want to get left behind.

I have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior, I have repented of my sins, I believe in His death, burial and ressurection.

I love reading my bible, keeping up with the prophesy watch, worshiping God singing praises to Him..

But, I am not like the Christians that I want to be like. You know the ones..they seem to have this extra strong relationship with the Lord. Mine walk has just started not long ago after coming out of a false religion. I am not "there" yet.

I was in a works religion for so so so many years, and I think I have some of that "baggage" left over in my thinking at times. Like I need to be "better", I need to stop "this or that"..know what I mean? This concerns me because I know you can't earn salvation, and I am not trying to. I know Christ blood covered all of my sins, past, present and future.

I am making no sense. (sorry)..I am in my journey alone for the most part. Just pray that people like me, will let go of old baggage. How does one give it all to Christ ? I feel like Paul sometimes, where I am a wretched person who has that battle going on.

Well..I love GOd with my whole heart, soul and mind. So much I want to be with Him.

  8. From what you said, Anon, you're good to go. Don't worry about it. God loves people and bends over backwards to make it easy for us to be saved. So many people turn him into Zeus with his lightning bolts, waiting for us to slip up.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hi Anon~

Please do not worry. You have done everything that you are supposed to do. The question is are you being what God wants you to be? I wouldn't use other Christians as a measuring stick because they are all in different phases of their walk. One may have a strong desire for something at that particular moment than the next one you meet. Use his glorious word to guide your day to day measuring. When in doubt you can pull out your road map to life (the bible) and find the topic that may be striking you that day. Together with all the Christians you come into contact with you should see a similar pattern. Transformation takes time We all have different talents.

Just go to a quiet place and kneel down before him and just hand it all over to him. If you can't kneel, sitting is good :) Just be still for a while. Just feel and listen. Talk with him about anything and everything. Almost like you are taking all your troubles and putting them at his feet. Restate your desire for him again if you wish (the salvation prayer) it's OK if it makes you feel better. Then envision looking up and Jesus is sitting right there, like many pictures I have seen of children at his feet while he sits on a big rock. Picture him inviting you to sit on his lap as he gives you a big hug for loving him so much. Just sit in that picture until you’re ready to move on.

Each day when I wake up I say the Lord’s Prayer just to start my day. Then I say Hi...God, Hi Jesus, Hi Holy Spirit, please show me your will for my day. It's that simple and things start popping into your soul throughout the day. If you have peace about it you know it's from the Holy Spirit. If you don't then don't act :) Sorry to simplify this. I hope you get what I am trying to portray here. It's a personal relationship between you two. Please know I don't want to make this any harder for you. It's unconditional love and that is so hard for our minds to grasp. We come from a world where everyone has a motive for something selfish behind it. When we get Christ like it's just a free flowing fountain of uncontained love. No strings attached. :)

If this makes you feel any better. The devil has been messing with me big time lately. He has me second guessing did I say something in my past that I claimed to turn Jesus away. I did a little research and found that I am fine. I may not have known better then but I wasn't operating in the spirit of the Lord and accepting his ways. It is about what we do after we receive him and strive daily to be like him. That's all. The feeling I was having was making me feel horrible like all this was for nothing. I also learned if I didn't have the Holy Spirit I would not be so worried about what God thinks and keep repenting daily to get it right.

I think the devil knows his days are numbered and he is trying all he can to plant seeds of doubt. :)

Hang in there! He loves you! He loves us all.

    God Bless!!

    GG

  10. Anon:

I agree with Paula but I would add one thing. Try to not think in blocks of time with Him. Try to throw away preconceived ideas you have about how much is enough. Start today by first feeling the love that you have for Him. take each moment as it comes letting go of the previous one and enjoy your time with Christ. Give Him all of yourself when you are happy, sad, and excited. When you go to bed at night wright a list of what you have to do the next day. That list should include things that are necessary for you to live and the things necessary spiritually to grow closer to God. Nothing on that list is to big or too little for God. Remember He asked for everything in our life to be given to Him. When you are done making that list go to the Father in prayer and ask Him for approval of the list or if changes need to be made,He will guide you. If you had to make changes then pray again once those are made and this time ask His permission to execute the list. You will be surprized at how much closer this will draw you to God because you are learning to submit to His will. You will then know in your heart that He is included in all things and you will feel at peace knowing that you are giving Him everything. This is scriptural to. Just look at the relationship with God and King David. David would go to God in prayer with his battle plan or anything to do with the Kingdom. As long as he did that David knew that he was including God and he knew that God wanted to bless him completely. When David failed to do this when he made war and went in to battle without consulting God for His approval God called him on it. David won the battle but he didn't get the victory through God and did not see the true glory in the undertaking. God punished him and said, that for not including Him in the planning stage and thinking he could do it on his own, that he, David would always be a King at war. This lesson is that God wants every aspect of our life the beginning, the middle and the end. No undertaking is worth it if God can't reveal His glory in it. We miss the boat here a lot because what God is trying to show us is that by Him being involved and revealing His glory in the undertaking, at the same time we are reassured of who He is and the promises He has made to us that believe. He is not boastful. He loves us so much that He is always reaching out to hold us in His glory as He reveals it. How loved are we. To God be all the glory!

I hope this helps. God bless you.

  12. Hello Anonymous

Romans 8:1 There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit
    2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death...
Galatians 5:1 STAND FAST, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage…

Please read all verses in context.

There is only ONE condition given for salvation – BELIEVE/FAITH in Jesus to save us from the original sin of Adam which everyone ever born inherits through their father. ONE exception is Jesus of Nazareth whose Father is God, not a son of Adam.

When we are born again; it means God has given us a brand new ETERNAL human spirit. Unlike the dead one we are born with; our new spirit is able to communicate with God. Positionally we are now IN Christ, welded into His Body and Jesus is the Head. Not only are we IN Christ; but God The Holy Spirit has also taken up residence within us and has sealed us into the Son – who is IN The Father.

Positionally we are NOW citizens of Heaven. Positionally we are NOW seated in heavenly places IN Christ. Understand the word POSITION; it is where God’s Word SAYS we are.

Experientially, we are in the world, that’s a fact of reality. Our bodies are yet to be redeemed and ‘glorified’- made like Jesus. Experientially, we are very much a part of human-kind. Understand the word ‘EXPERIENCE’ it’s what our still fallen flesh SAYS we are.

There is a choice to make every day until Jesus comes, we either totally trust God’s Word or we trust our feelings and experiences. Sin is no longer the issue; ALL the debt of sin has been paid for in full. That’s what Jesus meant when He declared ‘It is finished’ from the cross. Completed transaction, PAID IN FULL! In one moment of time, Christ exchanges our un-righteousness for His Righteousness and we are declared by God to be JUSTIFIED – no longer guilty of sin.

ALL that is required now is BELIEVE/FAITH that God’s Word says what God means and means what God says.

When we are born-again we are Eternally Secure in our free gift of Salvation. We CANNOT be lost, because the Triune God KEEPS us – regardless. Do we believe God’s written Word, or do we believe our experiences? Do we trust God’s Word that, Positionally, we are secure IN Christ, or do we trust our feelings and experiences? This is our ongoing salvation called ‘sanctification’.

When we sin – and we do, as we still have the old carnal sin nature, the ‘old man’, resident as well as the new nature in Christ; so when we do sin, we have an Advocate in Christ who continuously pleads our case before God’s throne – “Yes Father, he/she is a sinner, but look at my wounds, My Blood was shed to cleanse them from ALL sin”. God the Judge looks at the sinless Blood and sees the sinner clothed in Christ’s righteousness and agrees that he/she is NOT GUILTY because His beloved Son paid the Ransom to free us from sins ‘slave-market’. He died as a substitute for the sins of the WHOLE world. Those of us that have believed/faithed in Him, He saves to the uttermost. So NOTHING – ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can separate us from the Love of God.
Sin will send no man to a Christ-less Eternity – their own un-belief sends them.

    Cont.

  13. Cont.

At the Rapture of Christ’s Body, when THE PERFECT comes, no limbs are left behind, as we are finally joined to the Head of the Body, and when we see Him, face to face, we shall be like Him – perfect (glorified).

1John1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We are cleansed from the guilty stain of sin! BUT! When we sin, we mar our FELLOWSHIP with our heavenly Father. It is FELLOWSHIP that is spoiled, not the Eternal gift of Salvation. Keep shorts accounts with The Lord, trust His Word and apply His promises to your life.

Remember your POSITION; don’t trust your feelings or experiences. They MUST bow to God’s Truth.

Yes this does mean you can sin and it is forgiven! BUT! Like all sin there are consequences to pay. This means that a life of living as the unsaved do in carnality; will grieve, even quench the tender, resident Holy Spirit and will also result in a loss of rewards at the Bema Seat (the judgement seat of Christ).

This has nothing to do with the Great White Throne Judgment that un-believers will face and be condemned as guilty.
Because Christ has loved us SO much, our love and thankfulness for His sacrifice to free us from sin should surely constrain us to live a life pleasing to Him. Eventually casting our crowns, (rewards) before Him so that HE should receive ALL the glory from a life set free and living in loving obedience to His Word.

I have been where you are; it isn’t difficult if you would just trust Him with all your heart, and repent sincerely and quickly to restore fellowship. Trust comes from believing/faithing in His Word, apply the promises and HE WILL prove Himself faithful even when you are not.

When you feel ‘down’, praise Him, for He is worthy however you ‘feel’. He will NEVER leave you or forsake you; you are incredibly precious to Him, and now that He has you, He will keep you for eternity.

May God wonderfully bless you with His blessed assurance.
With love, from your sister in Christ Jesus. I WILL see you on the way up. :)

  14. To someone like me who's eyes have been opened relatively recently to the prophecy related events, the number of things taking place each day is somewhat astounding.

My relationship with the Lord started many years ago and, due to my own shortcomings, has been filled with peaks, plateaus and valleys. I'm more focused on His word now than ever before and I can feel the HS working within. Given the frequency of events, it certainly seems like the time to keep one's focus to the Lord and do everything possible to be a good witness.

The toughest part for me is not getting too wrapped up in the daily events and speculations as to when, who, etc. I pray for wisdom and discernment and to be as prepared as possible, but without losing sight of what's most important.

Also, I want to thank Scott for his work on this site, and to all who comment here. Since "stumbling" upon this blog months ago it's prompted me to really examine my walk and reorder my priorities

It's nice to see you back again :) I just love the wisdom in all the posts. It's amazing reading your post as well. You and Mrs. C. have such a strong fire lit on these scriptures and I love it!

I humbly put myself before my brothers and sisters here. For the life of me I just can't seem to get my mind wrapped around the concept that right now we are seated up in heaven. Can you explain that to me? I have no doubt but can you give me some scripture and show me? That part in my walk has not been revealed until I met you here.

I would appreciate so much! I hope Mr. you know who.... is leaving you alone this days on the other site. I hope to meet all of you very soon.

  19. Geepers, some long lost friends back on the last few days.

    Welcome :hugs

I'm not worried about the silver or gold....hard money always finds its true value after the tsunami passes through.

Just have to wonder, down 510+ points today, and down 7 of the last 8 days. Is this just the teaser or has the house of cards actually "started" to crumble. I just got back from a sales call but Mrs C said this was not just the US, but the collapse was international in scope. Am sure TPTB will be trying to put the cards back in place over night but if enough folk are as spooked as they should be.....this is going to be a long free fall.

Oh well, it are what it am, and it tain't what it aren't. Somehow I had expected the all inclusive storm....Israel/Syria, Israel/PLO/UN vote, currency, volcanoes, earthquakes, weather, and Elenin all hitting the burst point about the same week.

As the Instruction Manual says, our ways aren't His ways. And a big sigh of relief for that....we ain't got it right yet. In fact, we got it pretty inverted all on our own.

As for Mrs C and me spilling the beans....no lumpy skillets or noggins yet....in fact, she got a good chuckle out of it. Now, when do I get to take this silly apron and football helmet off????

As for Anon, you got great advice from everyone above. If you truly believe in your heart on Jesus Christ through faith and have professed it and repented......worry should not be part of your life. :hug You are in His most capable of hands. :) Have the faith of a child....an a loving Father always has His child well in sight.

  20. These have been some of the best comments, IMO, on any thread.

I don't even know where to start and I need to go back and re-read some of these.

Sue - thanks so much for adding those great, appropriate scriptures and as usual, I completely agree with the context etc. (oh, and its nice to see you back again! )

Anon - the good folks here have given better commentary than I ever could, but just remember, you are saved from ALL sins, past and present once you accept Christ - period - its that simple.

As I have recommended before, I HIGHLY recommend Andy Stanley's "How Good Is Good Enough?" which really makes the point in an unequivocal way. And you can read it in an hour or so.

  22. Awww shucks EI, you took the words right outta my keyboard!

Anon, I might add that the word "faith", in our modern, 'enlightened' times, has taken on the flavor of a somewhat mystical blind leap in the dark, whereas in the Greek NT, nothing could be further from the "truth".

It is well-reasoned, fully convinced, and is the correct equivalent of the predominant word "trust" that is used thru-out the OT.

In fact, last time I ck'd, the couple of times "faith" is found in the OT, it is really the word "trust". It was just 'poetic license' of the translators as it sounded better in English that way... [BTW, the root word of the Hebrew "trust" is "truth"... what a "coincidence" that God designed His Word that way!!]

"Doubting" the clear meaning of His Word is the Seed of Satan that took root in humanity back in Gen.3!

Therefore, the remedy is Philippians 4:8 "...whatsoever things are true...pure...think on these things..." [ie. the remedy is always His Word!]

So, concernin' yer "chances" of making the Rapture, if any...:

"6 And because you are sons, God has [**Past-Tense, Already Done {NOT a maybe, or a might be!}] sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." - Galatians 4:6-7

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall ["shall" is NOT a maybe, or a might be] appear, then you shall also appear with him in glory.

10 "And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivered** us from the wrath to come. [Rapture!!] 1 Thessalonians 1:10

...Just to mention a few verses... [Scott gets a little irate when when one tries to quote the whole Bible in one session...] ;)

Remember - It's all Him, not you -->"Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:24

So ponder the tenses in these verses a little bit and don't be alarmed if you notice one or both of yer hands start to lift up for a wave offering to the Lord...sometimes even a foot too! [just don't lift both feet at the same time unless yer already sitting down...]

Hope this settles it for you.
    ;)

Strange indeed... Obummer is now worried about losing support from his own party, since even Jimmy Carter just compared him to Jimmy Carter.

  26. Hi Stephen~

Thanks for the tips. I know you do care what happens for us. I do appreciate that. We have a 401K running as well. My husband has opted to live by faith with those monies that are left. He believes that we should not be here much longer and God has provided much through these times both past and present. If anything is left the next generation of believers will have something to run off of to make an impact if money means anything at that time. He believes if we panic then we are adding to the situation and not relying on God to provide. Don't get me wrong if we needed it we would take it but unless I am missing something we all shall be gone fairly soon. If not, we will trust the in the Lord for what comes next.

    Thanks again!!

  27. Hello GG

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in HEAVENLY PLACES in Christ:

Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Philippians3:20 For our CITIZENSHIP IS IN HEAVEN, FROM WHICH WE ALSO EAGERLY WAIT FOR THE SAVIOUR, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Where Jesus is –there we are in Him.

John 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

    11. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

    16. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever…

19."A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
    20. At that day you will know that I AM IN MY FATHER, AND YOU IN ME, AND I IN YOU…

    23. Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and WE WILL COME TO HIM AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH HIM.

John17:16 THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, JUST AS I AM NOT OF THE WORLD…

    20. "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; (That’s includes us today)
    21. "that they ALL MAY BE ONE, AS YOU, FATHER, ARE IN ME, AND I IN YOU; that they also MAY BE ONE IN US, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
    22. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:
    23. I IN THEM, AND YOU IN ME; that THEY MAY BE MADE PERFECT IN ONE, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me…

    25. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.
    26. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

Hebrews 8:1 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

Ephesians 1:20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Note* The 70th Week is for ‘earth-dwellers’; as we are citizens of heaven, the Tribulation is not applicable to Christ’s Body.

This is not exhaustive, but make a start here, ask The Lord to guide you and please read the above verses within their context. Take the Word literally, just as you would a tax form or a bank statement taking into account grammar, history and Context! Context! Context! (Vital)

Do you have a cross reference facility in your Bible? Very useful. Do you have a concordance? If not, Strong’s Exhaustive is freely available on line at The Blue Letter Bible.

The ‘Strongs’ numbers are extremely useful to examine each verse and word in the original language. Knowing Greek and Hebrew basics is extremely worthwhile – not essential, but if you are serious…

Its background is KJV; but if you are used to a more recent translation, you can change the search translation to look for the word you are looking for. It is a very valuable tool.

They also have a Commentary from old and new teachers. The various teachers from Calvary Chapel include Chuck Smith; Jon Courson…, they provide an audio teaching on most chapters of the Old and New Testaments. There are some differing opinions, but that shouldn’t be a problem as long as we remain in the Grace of God and don’t throw the ‘baby’ out with the bath water.

When you have totally exhausted their guidance, come back and we can discuss further – God willing.

P.s. Thank you for your concern about ‘the other side’ :) I didn’t know you were aware! Praise the Lord - these trials are sent to try us and train us.

I am absolutely snookered – I am off to bedbyes.
    God bless

  29. I have been reading this blog for at least a couple of years now, and I find it very useful to keep abreast of the signs of the times. Thank you, Scott, for all the time you put into this work. I recently viewed the 6-part Heaven Awaits series located at http://www.youtube.com/user/YeshuaISnear#p/u and would recommend it for those like me who think the rapture could be very soon now.

Jobs data due out tomorrow in US. If its bad, could drive marked down another 200-500 points. Rumor is it will be terrible but that's the rumor on the "street". Rumor is the operative word.

Expect precious metals to De-Couple from the stocks if the fall goes much further.

tho your post is several hrs old I just logged on and read it....the first 12yrs of my life I was convinced I was going to be left behind and there was nothing I could do about it. I would have nightmares at least 3 times a week. going to church would scare me cuz he would often speak on the rapture. I don't have time to go into it other people on this site already covered it for you. the ONLY THING You should be concerned about Is are you living a life That will bring you great rewards or I life that will be the wasted when you get an account. you already have eternal life so live it, walk in it, rejoice in it and give your life back to jesus.

  36. GG Dear Sis – I posted this way down below, on the original thread with your comments. But I thought Id post it here too, to make sure you saw it  Thank you so much for the Anniversary greeting! Big Hug Forgive me for being soooo late in thanking you! Yes indeed Sis, what an incredible Blessing to have the best Match Maker in the Universe! Thank you for your Blessings Big Hug. Yup, oh boy, the evil one didn’t like it at all! You are spot on with that observation! And yes, Gods Word is a Mighty Sword!

As for Isaiah 17, and its unfolding, Dear Sis, there is no way we all wont know that it is happening. Should the Internet be up during this event, it would be my privilege to be with all our Brothers and Sisters here, witnessing Gods Word unfold. Yes, it will be Damascus, the same Damascus as Gods Word says. Until this very day, Damascus boasts to be “oldest continuously inhabited city in the world”. Gods Word is so amazing, that He begins with Isaiah 17, by telling us it will no longer exist.
Damascus is still called Damascus :) Some have argued that Isaiah 17 has already occurred, as it was conquered in ancient times, but these are the same folks that say that Revelation has already occured. It has been "conquered" by any number of enemies, and still remains "Damascus". The Syrian city of Arpad, did not surrender so easily. It took Tiglath-pileser three years of siege to conquer Arpad, then he massacred the inhabitants and destroyed the city.In 732 he advanced to Damascus, first devastating the gardens outside the city and then conquering the capital and killing the king, whom he replaced with a governor. Damascus continued to be a city. I bring up this point because God, in His Word makes it very clear in Isaiah 17:
•Damascus will not be "conquered", but rather no longer ever to be a city again.
    Isaiah 17:1
1.The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
•It took time for Tiglath-pileser to conquer Damascus. God, in His Word, again makes it very clear. Damascus will be there in the morning, and then gone by that evening. Gone in one day.

    Isaiah 17:14
14.And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
God opens Isaiah 17 with the complete destruction of Damascus by His People, not Him, but His People. Israel will destroy Damascus, most likely in a retaliatory response. Present day, Israel has amazingly said in the recent couple of years, that they will hold “Damascus”, not “Syria”, but specifically “Damascus” responsible for ANY attacks on their nation. Add to that, that both Hamas and Hezbollah are headquartered in Damascus, and we can clearly see this attack on Damascus happening. Gods Word is so True, and we are so incredibly Blessed to witness the fulfillment of His Word, right before us! WOW!

    God Bless You!

  37. Hello DrNofog

Great post! I was too tired to comment last night. :-0
Excellent! and 'pistis' faith/believe includes the sense of the ‘assurance’ of salvation.

Also 'elpis' - hope in the New Testament means ‘joyful and CONFIDENT expectation of eternal salvation’ (Thayers)

Titus3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE.

Today hope tends to be understood as a shrug of the shoulders, a maybe or maybe not’ attitude that is uncertain. Not the meaning in the New Testament at all.
    God bless you Doc

    Hello Scott
Be assured I haven’t been far; I have been reading but otherwise
    occupied. I don’t ‘multi-task’ like I used to.

It may have seemed that my first comment came out of nowhere. Yet it was a result of a growing concern I had been witnessing in the comments for a while. Jesus is LIGHT. The darkness is where He isn’t. Seriously, we are either IN the Light or IN the darkness. There are no half-measures in Christ – no ‘twilight zone’. It’s like being a ‘little bit pregnant’ – there is no interim, either you are or you aren’t.

Apart from the US politics that I cannot understand; your news updates are a boost to my faith as we wait for the imminent Rapture.
    God bless you Scott

  38. During my reading this morning I came across this Psalm that is quite fitting for the discussion regarding Syria. David penned this Psalm when he fought Mesopotamia and Syria.

    Psalm 60:6-8 (NKJV)

God has spoken in His holiness:
    "I will rejoice;
    I will divide Shechem
And measure out the Valley of Succoth.

    Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;
    Ephraim also is the helmet for My head;
    Judah is My lawgiver
    Moab is My washpot;
    Over Edom I will cast My shoe;
    because of Me."

  40. I read these comments last night, and reread them again this morning. Tears just kept streaming down my face.
THank you all so very much. This blog, and you all are a blessing in my life.

I am going to do all that you guys have suggested. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I am loved so very much by our Lord. Me. with all of my faults and don't feel worthy of that love. But, today I am in a different place and will not let satan win.

Thank you all and God bless. My heart swells with Christian love for you all.

  41. Hi Mrs. C~

Thank you so much for the breakdown of this. I am happy you feel comfortable guiding us as we go through this. It's hard to know when these times are actually on top of us and who is what new name as they unfold.

I am going to use my days now to sit down and just digest and study these two topics. One from dear Sue and one from you. Just bask in the words of these teachings and fully enjoy the wisdom that has been shared here.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

One a side Q? Did we figure out a central contacting method if the days are limited on this site or are we going to embrace on the other side and reach each other daily through prayer while we are here? Just thought I would check. If not that is OK too.

  42. Anonymous, stand firm in the knowledge that all of your sins--past, present and future-- were nailed to the cross. All He asks is for you to love Him through obedience to His Word. His yoke is much easier to bear than our yoke of regret.

GG~ as for future communication, I'm planning on faxing folks and using the mighty pen and paper.
