Reports Suggest Iran Attacked US Base in Kuwait After Trump Says Talks Were Resuming – Cargo Vessel Hit in Strait of Hormuz (VIDEO)

Iran reportedly attacked a US military base in Kuwait, and a ship in the Strait of Hormuz was attacked on Tuesday morning, after President Trump said just hours earlier that negotiations with Iran are “going on right now.”

Per the Jerusalem Post:

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has attacked a US military base in Kuwait, a source familiar with the details confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday morning.

The attack was carried out using at least three drones, the source added.

Local Arab media reported that loud explosions were heard in Iraq’s Basra province, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency said. The Basra province shares borders with both Iran and Kuwait.

Iranian state media, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported that a large fire had broken out in Kuwait on Tuesday morning, citing Arab media.

The United Kingdom Maritime and Trade Operations (UKMTO) center said in a post on X/Twitter that a cargo vessel had been hit by an unknown projectile off the coast of Oman.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump said on Monday that talks with Iran are back on and “going on right now,” following his decision to call off strikes which he said would have been “the biggest attack since World War II.”

“This is a last chance for them to sign a good document,” Trump said.

“You’ll find out today or tomorrow. I mean, they’re going to go quickly, one way or the other. It’s not very complex. We’re talking about the Strait, the opening of the Strait, having it open literally by tomorrow, completely open, and that’s phase one,” Trump said when asked for details of the negotiations. “And phase two is we then will talk about the nuclear capacity, the nuclear, you know, as we’ve been mentioning. Basically… the denuclearization of Iran has to happen, has to happen, and that’ll be the second phase.”

Meanwhile, CBS reported, citing US officials, that despite Trump's comments, no "new" negotiations were planned.

Video circulating on social media shows explosions over what Iranian media claims is the US base attacked on Tuesday. Israeli newspaper the Jerusalem Post reports that the details were "confirmed" on Tuesday.
