Operatives belonging to Hamas’s internal security apparatus have started deploying in parts of the Gaza Strip after a ceasefire with Israel came into effect earlier today, footage published by Hamas-affiliated media outlets shows.
The operatives are wearing uniforms identifying them as members of Hamas’s Internal Security apparatus, which is tasked with maintaining order in the Gaza Strip.
The footage appears to show that only a small number have deployed so far.
This is the first time since the previous ceasefire that Hamas operatives have been seen openly in pubic.

An Israeli negotiating team made up of mid-level professionals remains in Sharm el-Sheikh to continue moving the newly signed Gaza deal forward, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.
“Right after the release of the hostages,” the focus will be on the second phase of the deal, including Hamas disarmament and the governance of Gaza, says the official.
US President Donald Trump is slated to arrive in Israel on Monday morning, an Israeli official confirms to The Times of Israel.
He will go to the Knesset to deliver an address and will meet freed hostages, the official says.
CENTCOM confirms IDF withdrawal to new Gaza deployment lines
US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that the IDF completed its withdrawal to the new agreed-upon deployment lines in Gaza, US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff says on X.
“The 72-hour period to release the hostages has begun,” he adds.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues blasting analysts and journalists who argued, as he puts it, “that there is no way to bring back the rest of the hostages without giving in to Hamas’s main demand — that the IDF will leave the Strip entirely, including from the buffer zone, including from the Philadelphi corridor, including from the dominant ground, with all its implications.”
He says that he knew that if the IDF goes into Hamas’s last major stronghold, Gaza City, “Hamas will want to save its rule.”
Netanyahu adds that he knew that if massive diplomatic pressure is added “from our big friend President Trump, this powerful combination will cause Hamas to give back all of our hostages, while the IDF remains deep inside the Strip and holds all the key positions.”
He promises that in the subsequent stages, “Hamas will be disarmed, and Gaza will be demilitarized.”
Netanyahu threatens Hamas with an implied return to war: “If this is achieved the easy way, great. And if not, it will be achieved the hard way.”
