(Moscow) A major seismic event unfolded in the North Pacific Ocean, approximately 362 km (225 mi) from Kamchatka, Russia, as a powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake jolted the region on Saturday. The precise depth of the quake remains undetermined, though it is believed to be shallow, intensifying its impact near the epicentre. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) initially reported a magnitude of 7.7, which was later revised to 7.5. Currently, it is unknown whether there are any casualties or if it could trigger a tsunami.
