EMSC is reporting the same magnitude and depth. The quake hit four days after powerful M7.3 struck the same region, triggering a Tsunami Warning.
The epicenter was located 81 km (50 miles) SSE of Sand Point (population 1 064) and 932 km (580 miles) SW of Anchorage, Alaska.
The quake occurred just 4 days after powerful M7.3 earthquake hit the same region, prompting Tsunami Warning for the Pacific coasts of South Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula, from Kennedy Entrance (approximately 64 km / 40 miles southwest of Homer) to Unimak Pass (approximately 130 km / 80 miles northeast of Unalaska).
