Trump holds Iran responsible for Houthi attacks, threatens ‘dire consequences’ if they continue

In a drastic statement, U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to attack Iran if the Houthi terror group in Yemen resumed its attacks.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: “Let nobody be fooled! The hundreds of attacks being made by Houthi, the sinister mobsters and thugs based in Yemen, who are hated by the Yemeni people, all emanate from, and are created by, IRAN.”

The statement followed the announcement of a broad operation against Houthi targets throughout Yemen on Saturday, Trump emphasized on Monday that “any further attack or retaliation by the ‘Houthis’ will be met with great force, and there is no guarantee that that force will stop there.”

He pointed out that despite their claims, the Iranian regime maintained control over the Houthis. “They’re dictating every move, giving them the weapons, supplying them with money and highly sophisticated Military equipment, and even, so-called, ‘Intelligence’.”

Trump concluded, “Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN, and IRAN will be held responsible, and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire!”

Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas praised Trump’s “clear message” to the Houthis and Iran, who he said “have driven up costs for every Arkansan and every American. Anyone who fires a weapon at, or supplies a weapon that is fired at American ships or service members will be met with unrelenting force.”

“Bravo Mr. President,” responded Jason Brodsky, Policy Director United Against Nuclear Iran. “It's long overdue to pierce the veil of Iranian plausible deniability to restore deterrence.”

In several more posts on 𝕏, Brodsky praised Trump’s focus on Iran as the responsible party for the actions of its proxies, which he said corrects “a failing across presidential administrations of both parties in Iran policy.”

“Khamenei sits comfortably in Tehran while he sets the region on fire and the U.S., instead of going after the source of the problem, either doesn't respond or when it does, it aims at Khamenei's disposable proxies,” Brodsky lamented.

“And he banks on voices in the West with hysterical warnings about triggering WWIII to weaken U.S. resolve, which in the process protects the regime and does the work for him.”

Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz had warned on Sunday that Iranian targets in Yemen could be struck as part of the military campaign against the Houthis.

“We will hold not only Houthis accountable but also their Iranian backers,” he said, adding possible targets included Iranian ships near the Yemeni coast, military trainers, and more.

  1. POTUS has cornered himself in overseas affairs. Seemingly an outdated phrase "foreign entanglements" but accurate then and now. Support Israel materialistically and with prayer but pull out Don. Let God implement His will not yours.
