Three weeks after the barbaric Hamas invasion, Israel’s military forces have finally begun a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
Joel Rosenberg recently released a special Saturday edition of THE ROSENBERG REPORT just to cover the start of the ground campaign.
Israeli forces – by sea, air and land – have begun moving deeper into the northern Gaza region, particularly focused on Gaza City, the main center of operations for the Hamas terror operation.
On Friday, just a few hours before troops began entering Gaza, Israeli intelligence released conclusive evidence that the main command and control center for the Hamas terror organization is operating under Shifa Hospital, a major hospital facility in Gaza City.
The evidence "reinforced what most Israelis have expected or sensed for a long time," Rosenberg said. "Hamas has burrowed under hospitals, schools, medical centers, children's centers, all designed to keep Israel from attacking those positions."
While the evidence confirms what many Israelis have believed for a long time, much of the world did not react with outrage at the news about Hamas setting up their command center under the hospital.
"The world is turning against the Jewish state," Rosenberg said.
The United Nations condemned Israel of war crimes while failing to pass a resolution condemning Hamas’ atrocities of Oct. 7.
Russia invited Hamas and Iranian leaders to Moscow, while Turkish president Erdoğan canceled his trip to Israel, accusing it of committing genocide.
The ground invasion in Gaza has already produced results. The IDF confirmed that two senior Hamas commanders were killed in the Israeli operations over the weekend, while this afternoon, it was announced that a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader had also been killed.
Issam Abu Rutba was in charge of Hamas’ air assets, including the paragliders who attacked on Oct. 7.
Rateb Abu Sarban was in charge of Hamas’ naval assets, including those taken out by Israel’s Shayetet 13 military unit on Oct. 7 and the subsequent days.
Tayseer al-Ghouti, a senior PIJ figure, was killed Sunday during an IDF strike in Rafah.
Israel has now moved tanks into the Gaza Strip, along with infantry, under artillery and air support, a move which has resulted in an escalation from Hezbollah terror forces in Lebanon on Israel's northern border, however, not a feared, full-scale rocket barrage and ground invasion.
The United States, in response to the growing threat, ordered two airstrikes on Iranian positions in Syria.
U.S. President Joe Biden ordered an additional aircraft carrier strike group into the region, this time to the Persian Gulf, reportedly to project force against Iran.
While all of these developments were taking place, UN Secretary General António Guterres accused Israel of war crimes.
The UN General Assembly (UNGA) voted on and passed a resolution condemning Israel and calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.
Only 14 nations voted against the resolution.
UNGA, however, did not muster enough votes to pass a statement condemning the Hamas attacks of Oct. 7.
All of this raises the issue of prophetic biblical passages, such as Zechariah 12:3: “On that day, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it.”
And as we ready in Psalm 83:2-4: “For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
Please pray for Israel and its leaders during these difficult days.
