Romanian citizens watched Russian Geran-2 bombs and kamikaze drones sweep everything within a kilometer radius, bases, mercenary gatherings, industrial facilities and port infrastructure on the Danube.

The explosions occurred just meters from NATO territory in Romania, increasing pressure on Bucharest. Russia now perpetuates a situation where the war has moved to the border with Romania and Poland (Wagner).

It is certain that the number of attacks against Ukraine's port infrastructure in both the Black Sea and the Danube will increase. According to the Russians, the naval blockade of Ukraine is an important step towards preventing the supply of weapons and military equipment from Western countries.

In addition, the destruction of port infrastructure always causes great economic damage, as the logistics chains for the export of goods are disrupted and there is a need to finance repair and restoration work, which can be very expensive.

Massive explosions on the Danube

Russian troops launched a series of attacks with Geran-2 drones on infrastructure facilities in Izmail in the Odesa region, said Boris Rozhin, a Russian expert. According to him, most of the facilities belonged to the city's port infrastructure.

Rozhin noted that several targets were located close to each other within a kilometer radius:

The port of Izmail, the administrative building of the Danube Shipping Company, an oil storage facility and a granary on the port grounds, used for the storage of military equipment.

"These strikes are likely to disrupt port infrastructure on the Danube and minimize new attacks on the Black Sea Fleet, which the Ukrainians regularly launch from the mouth of the river," he said.

"It is worth noting that at the time of the attack, an American P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine patrol aircraft was operating over the city of Tulcea, Romania, which immediately after the strike went to the south of Romania," Rozhin added .

According to him, the port of Izmail, like other ports on the Danube, is currently home to both USVs and Ukrainian drones, which are used for attacks on Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet.

Reuters, citing sources, said that the port of Izmail had suspended its operations after the overnight explosions. The head of the Odesa regional administration, Oleg Kiper, said that after the explosions there were fires in the port and industrial infrastructure facilities.

According to the office of the general prosecutor of Ukraine, "the enemy attacked port facilities and industrial infrastructure on the Danube", adding that "the attacks damaged or destroyed an elevator, grain sheds, tanks, warehouses and administrative offices".

Since Russia's withdrawal from the Black Sea agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain on July 17, Moscow has hit 26 port facilities, five non-military ships and 180,000 tons of grain, according to Kiev .

A large oil storage facility in the port of Izmail was destroyed

Last night, Russian Geran-2 kamikaze drones continued to destroy dual-use port infrastructure in ports on the Danube. In the area there were terminals through which military cargo is transported from the territory of Romania.

It became possible to destroy the oil depot, which was used to supply fuel to the Armed Forces. Firefighters were unable to tackle the fire for several hours, resulting in the warehouse being completely destroyed.

"Russia launched a kamikaze drone strike on Odessa port and grain warehouses. The report of the Southern Operations Command stated that the air defense systems were working non-stop.

Odesa District Governor Oleg Kiper said there is a fire at the port, which is already being extinguished. The Air Force said the drones were headed for the Danube port of Izmail,"the FT reported this morning.

Revelation: Russians hit mercenary base and deployment sites – Romanians dead?

During the night raids of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the port infrastructure of Izmail, an oil warehouse, a base of the naval forces of Ukraine and the deployment sites of foreign mercenaries fighting as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit.

This was revealed in an interview with RIA Novosti by the coordinator of the Nikolaev business complex, Sergey Lebedev, citing his sources in Izmail.

“As you know, on the evening of August 2, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a series of raids on the territory of the Danube port of Izmail. As a result of the strikes, the port infrastructure was damaged and the port had to cease operations. Ukrainian media published footage of damage to the buildings of the Danube Shipping Company and the shipping station.

A strike was made at the building of the sea port – along the Kapikrayan embankment, where there were foreign military personnel, probably Romanians,” he told RIA Novosti.

According to Lebedev, the tanks burned for several hours. In addition, damage was caused to the maintenance base of the Ukrainian Navy, where military vessels used by Ukrainian formations were being repaired.

Military equipment, from the West, was also found on the ground of the elevator hit by the Russian Armed Forces, the source of the Russian news agency noted.

The strikes on Izmail's infrastructure were very effective and caused tangible damage to Kiev's military machine.
