NATO has sounded the alarm as the most elite Wagner Units are being deployed to a second camp along the Belarus-Poland-Ukraine border.
Yesterday's publication of WarNews247 is completely confirmed, a fact that forces NATO to take military measures.
Barring a shocking prospect, Wagner's forces will attempt to sever the connection between Poland and Western Ukraine, as we mentioned yesterday.
The aim is to stop the supply of the Ukrainian Army with Western weapons from Poland.
According to reports, one of the Wagner PMC camps will appear in the Grodno region of Belarus. This is according to local sources.
According to available information, representatives of the private military company are busy selecting a site suitable for the camp.
As the soldiers of PMC "Wagner" themselves emphasize, given the importance of the geographical area, the most hardened and war-experienced units of the "Orchestra" will be deployed.
An agreement in principle has already been reached on the matter with the President of Belarus.
Yesterday, it became known that one of the PMC "Wagner" camps will be built near the village of Osipovichi, Mogilev region. Its area will be approximately 24 thousand square meters. Probably, eight thousand fighters of the company will be deployed there at the same time.
The president of Belarus, A. Lukashenko, revealed that G. Prigozhin arrived in Belarus today.
A. Lukashenko emphasized that his country offered Wagner one of its abandoned military bases.
According to Lukashenko, Belarus will help the Wagnerites, but they will be on its territory at their own expense. Lukashenko also denied reports that PMC fighters would guard Russian tactical nuclear weapons located in Belarus.
"The responsibility for managing nuclear weapons in Belarus rests with the Russian Army. We do not have such experience," Lukashenko emphasized
"The "Wagnerites" can participate in the preparation or, at least, in advising the Belarusian army. PMC Wagner's forces have very good, high-quality combat experience, they have the skills to conduct a modern war," Lukasneko concluded.
“If their commanders come to us and help us... They have experience. They are on the front line, they are assault units. They will explain to us what is important at the moment" at the military level, Lukashenko said, according to a statement from the Belarusian presidency.
Lukashenko also stressed that his defense minister, Viktor Krenikov, had told him that he would not mind having a unit like Wagner in the Belarusian army.
At the same time, he revealed that Moscow, on Putin's orders, has already handed over a large part of the nuclear weapons it was supposed to install on Belarusian soil.
Stoltenberg: Order for "combat mission" in the Baltic
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Brussels will review the mandate to protect the airspace of the Baltic states. This will probably also apply to Eastern Europe.
"It will change from air policing to combat, " the head of the alliance said during a speech in Vilnius.
"We will strengthen our land, sea and air forces. The mandate given to the air forces of the member states will be reviewed and changed from air policing to combat,"Stoltenberg emphasized.
The so-called Air Policing controls the space above the Baltic States and is not considered a military mission.
The change to the “Combat Mission” mandate will give NATO air forces new powers.
Thus, in the event of a crisis, the NATO Air Force will be integrated into Lithuania's defense plans, the aircraft will be able to participate in hostilities.
Since 2004, on a rotational basis, the fighters of the member states of the alliance have been based at Zokniai Air Base. As of April 2014, the other part of the mission is located at Ă„mari Air Base in Estonia.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the Baltic states will increase NATO's military presence near the Russian region of Kaliningrad. According to Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, NATO countries need to improve their defense plans for the Baltic states.
"They must be further strengthened. And Lithuania, in particular, since it has a rather vulnerable region," said the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
Last week's Wagner hoax pulled right out of Anatoliy Golitsyn's book New Lies for Old. A masterpiece of deception by KGB aficionado Vladimir Putin.
ReplyDeleteYour right deception to keep ‘em guess. This latest move might also be a deception to gain information. Sort of like sending out receivers in all direction then hand off the ball up the middle.
