Massive Protests Take Place In Paris, Brussels, Rome

Some 140 000 people marched through the streets of Paris, France on October 16, 2022, due to rising prices and the policy of the EU that led to it. The organizers said the main outcome of the protest is a general strike.


While mass media outlets are still trying to downsize the number of people in the streets, images and videos from Paris show a massive number of unstoppable demonstrators.


The march was organized by the right-wing Les Patriotes party led by Florian Philippot, the former deputy head of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally.


“We need the General Strike,” Philippot said on October 17. 


“It must be put on the right demands: Frexit, exit from NATO, halt to the society of restrictions and rationing, motion of censure and dismissal! Big demonstration on 10/22 in this direction. It is our collective duty!”


Protests also turned massive in Brussels, Belgium on October 16, against rising energy prices, inflation, politicians and media.


Residents of Rome, Italy also joined the movement, demanding the end of Italy’s involvement in NATO:
