'Weaponized Federal Agencies' Raid Trump's Mar-A-Lago
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) came out with a blistering response to the Monday FBI raid on former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, reportedly in connection with materials Trump brought with him after leaving office.
"The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves," said DeSantis. "Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic."
Donald Trump - who is still banned by Twitter - published a statement on Truth Social in which he said that his Florida home, Mar A Lago is “currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents", an assault which according to Trump "could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries." He is probably right. He also claims the Fed's presence was unannounced and the reason was politically motivated.
His full statement posted on his Truth Social account is below:
According to the New York Times:
The search, according to two people familiar with the investigation, appeared to be focused on material that Mr. Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence, after he left the White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents, according to a person familiar with their contents.
Mr. Trump delayed returning 15 boxes of material requested by officials with the National Archives for many months, only doing so when there became a threat of action being taken to retrieve them.
As Techno Fog notes, the politics of the search can’t be ignored. If the New York Times is to be believed, Trump’s purported crime - the delay of returning materials - could have been resolved in another manner not involving raiding his home and breaking open a personal safe. No doubt the search is an escalation by a desperate Regime confronted by their own failures at home and abroad.
On the approaching 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, The Democrats are toying with what will most likely end in a civil war and the destruction of the United States. Never in the entire history of the United States has a former president been indicted for any criminal conduct. This has not been because there was never such an incident. Most importantly, the historic precedent is that post-term indictment is NOT legally allowed.
Americans don’t like the idea of criminalizing politics. Just look at Ukraine. In January 2022, Ukraine’s former president, Petro Poroshenko, landed in Kyiv and was charged with Treason by Zelensky in a case that illustrates the danger of criminalizing politics. So many other banana republics do the same. Once one party gets a hold of power, they try to prosecute the opposition.
Up until now, both political parties, as well as the public, see the prospect of post-term immunity as a guarantee that the country’s politics will remain civil and that power will transition peacefully from one party to the other. All of that is now crumbling before our eyes. That very percedent is what drove President Gerald Ford to pardon Richard Nixon. It was also the reason why the Office of the Independent Counsel decided not to indict former President Bill Clinton for perjury.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that his Mar-A-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, was been raided by FBI agents. “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” Trump announced in a statement.
NEVER in the history of the United States has the FBI ever carried out such a raid. Trump publicly stated that his home was “under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.” He also said that: “They even broke into my safe.”
Our computer has warned that 2022 would be a Panic Cycle in Politics and 2023 will be a violent year for civil unrest and war. The computer pinpoints these events that we cannot even begin to imagine the fundamentals behind them. But the Democrats have crossed the line. They are now trying to transform the United States into a banana republic of oppression and a direct assault on the very foundation of democracy. The nation has been polarized to the extreme. This is just going to put it over the top.

Some posts, such as one from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, likened the FBI’s raid on Trump’s home as “the type of things that happen in countries during civil war.” She added, “The political persecution MUST STOP!!!”
Other users said the FBI’s actions were akin to waging civil war. Some who supported the raid accused Trump supporters of using the raid as an excuse to start civil war.
“National Divorce” was another trending keyword.
Other trending keywords included “Hillary” referring to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with nearly 80,000 tweets, “Wray” referring to FBI director Christopher Wray with 35,000 tweets, “Garland” referring to Attorney General Merrick Garland with more than 81,000 tweets.
Trump also linked the FBI raid to deliberate political persecution ahead of the 2022 midterm elections and his possible reelection bid in 2024.
“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections,” Trump said.
CNN reported Trump was not in Florida at the time of the FBI raid. The FBI raid reportedly focused on Trump’s living quarters and office spaces.
The FBI told American Military News, “We don’t have any comment.”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy released a statement warning Attorney General Merrick Garland that an investigation would be underway.
This bugs most Americans, it's not unheard of to have raids, it's unheard of to have a raid almost two years later after a Presidency was over, and say, "Oh, we think there are documents missing", in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteHow do you not know if important classified info wasn't missing the first 90 days at the least??? Reputedly, Trump was letting them go through some boxes already earlier on, cooperating, and now they think the ones needed recovered are still missing, and almost two years later?? All this right before mid-terms with coming Presidential Election
Trump would most likely run in? IMO, highly suspicious, and probably could had been conducted differently truth be known!! We shall see what kind of reasoning is given to the USA Citizen's, and should receive soon, then determine how this smells?
