He bragged with pride: "This is not just a hypersonic, this is an intercontinental missile.
"This is a much more serious weapon than you just said. And they are already on alert in Russia.
"Weapons with a speed of Mach 3 or more are being developed in the United States. Our systems fly at a speed of over Mach 20."
Yet reassuringly, Putin went on to say that nobody was under direct threat from these super nukes, at least for now, and that other countries are rapidly trying to catch up with the Russian technology.
He continued: "There is nothing unusual here. The high-tech armies of the world will have such systems, they will, and in the near future.
"We do not abuse this, we do not threaten anyone."
Last week, and doing very little to calm fears over World War 3, alarming footage showed Russia testing its latest hypersonic weapon.
In the clip, a lethal Zircon missile is shot from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine. It travelled at 6,670mph into the sky.
Russian defence officials later said that the missile reached its target in the Barents Sea, having been launched from the White Sea, adding concerningly that it is "unstoppable" and capable of evading all Western defences.
Russia must be up to no good if they have to take a threatening stance with remarks like Article is indicating, in my opinion. If CCP & Russia have to threaten about their toys capabilities, they are concerned about what can happen to them in my opinion.
