Israeli security forces shot and killed two Palestinians with live fire during a day of clashes in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Authority health ministry.
The Israeli military could not immediately be reached for comment. Three Palestinians have been killed so far today during confrontations with Israeli troops across the West Bank. The Israeli army has said that in some instances, Palestinians have thrown rocks and shot fireworks at soldiers.

The Israel Defense Forces says military aircraft took out a cell of Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives in northern Gaza.
The IDF doesn’t specify what the PIJ operatives were doing, but says they were targeted with “intelligence and firepower capabilities of the Gaza Division.”
IDF claims reports that ground troops were in Gaza due to misunderstanding
After international media outlets reported overnight that Israeli troops were operating in Gaza after an ambiguous IDF statement said Israeli air and ground forces were attacking in the Strip, the military is asserting this was due to a misunderstanding.
After the Israel Defense Forces issued the statements in Hebrew and English — “IDF air and ground troops are currently attacking in the Gaza Strip” — a reporter for The Times of Israel contacted a military spokesperson, and was told there were no Israeli troops in Gaza. The soldiers, tanks and artillery were near the border, but on the Israeli side.
