Local Michigan Business Takes A Stand Against Gov. In Attempt To Survive, Facing Huge Fines, Possible Jail

Popular Donut Maker is Facing Huge Fines After Refusing to Follow Michigan Governor’s New Lockdown Edicts

A popular donut maker in Dearborn, Mich. is taking a stand against the COVID-19 lockdown insanity of Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

The owners of Donutville USA are refusing to comply with Whitmer’s latest round of unconstitutional shutdown edicts. As a result, they face thousands of dollars in fines and are crowdfunding in the hopes of staying open in the face of adversity. They hope their courageous protest galvanizes the community before hundreds more small businesses are crippled by the Democrat regime.

Thus far, they have raised $3,228 on GoFundMe but hope to raise in excess of $10,000 anticipating the fines from the state as well as legal costs. They have acquired lawyer David Kallman of the Great Lakes Justice Center, who represented barber Karl Manke as he fought back successfully against Whitmer. The family-owned business released a statement on the GoFundMe platform expressing gratitude for the help from the community.

“Donutville USA and the Porada family are so appreciative of the outpouring of support that we have received. It has meant the world to us,” they wrote in an announcement.

“I will be honest, this has not been an easy ride. We never imagined that there would be so many hate-filled messages sent to our family, simply for wanting to defend ourselves over a fine, which we feel is a bit extreme. However, the positive messages and your generous donations and support have made things sting a little less. God willing, will continue to serve the Dearborn community and our loyal customers the best donuts and coffee that we always have,” they added.

Big League Politics has reported on how Whitmer has discarded the Michigan state constitution, brazenly flouting a state supreme court ruling in order to continue her illicit reign of terror across the state:

Even though a state supreme court ruling recently invalidated her emergency powers, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is refusing to give up her illicit control.

Whitmer is working through Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and having her bureaucratic henchmen do her dirty work as she attempts to sidestep the court ruling.

MDHHS Director Robert Gordon has issued a new emergency order mandating face masks in public, restricting bars and other venues, and limiting gathering sizes.

“A divided Michigan Supreme Court struck down these requirements on Friday. Our order today flows from a legal authority not at issue in Friday’s case. It is important we stay the course we’ve been on. When it comes to defeating COVID-19, we’re all in this together,” Gordon said in his announcement.

The Whitmer administration is continuing to repeat the same talking points that they have used throughout the pandemic to stupefy the masses into submission.

“When it comes to fighting COVID-19, we are all in this together. We need Michiganders everywhere to do their part by wearing masks and practicing safe physical distancing so we can keep our schools and small businesses open and protect the brave men and women serving on the front lines of this crisis,” Whitmer said.

“The epidemic order that Director Gordon issued today is an important step to protect Michiganders across the state from the spread of COVID-19. Let’s all mask up and stay safe,” she added.

They noted that noncompliance with these new orders will be considered a misdemeanor under Michigan state law, which could result in up to six months in jail. It could also result in a $200 fine as well as a civil fine of up to $1,000.

“Michigan was hit hard by COVID-19 early in the pandemic,” Gordon said. “Strict preventive measures and the cooperation of Michiganders drove those numbers down dramatically, greatly reducing the loss of life. As we head into flu season, this order is necessary to protect vulnerable individuals, ensure the health care system can provide care for all health issues, keep schools open, and maintain economic recovery.”

While the Whitmer administration likes to act like their emergency measures have saved lives, the opposite is actually the case. Whitmer is one of a handful of Democrat governors who mandated that COVID-19 patients be housed in nursing homes among the most vulnerable. Because of Whitmer’s decision, countless elderly people died painful deaths alone isolated from their loved ones that could have easily been prevented.
