Syrian Rockets Fired At Israeli Hermon Positions

Two Syrian rockets or shells fired at Israeli Hermon positions

The IDF is investigating two projectiles, either rockets or mortar shells, that were aimed on Saturday night, June 1 at Israeli positions on the Mt. Hermon slopes which abut on the Israeli Golan . No one was hurt. Since there is no current fighting in the area of the Syrian launching site – some 35km east of Mt. Hermon – it is assumed that this was a deliberate attack on an Israeli military target. This followed another incident in the past week, when Syrian anti-air artillery fire targeted an Israel fighter jet which was on a routine patrol over northern Israel. Israel retaliated by striking the launch site. Syria reported one soldier killed and a second injured.
