In The News:

Another massive coronal hole emerging over the sun's eastern limb could be a significant threat to a very active Pacific Ring Of Fire

Another massive coronal hole is emerging over the sun's eastern limb.

Solar wind flowing from the gap is expected to reach Earth on Feb. 15-16, according to Spaceweather.com.

With 15 major quakes from 16 occurring this year during coronal hole activity on our Sun and 13 of them along The Pacific Ring Of Fire and a similar amount of rumbling volcanoes, the coming days will most probably bring some fireworks, I would wager a major quake or two is a certainty.

Threatening sunspot AR2699 which doubled its size to more than 100,000 km across yesterday and is directly facing Earth this weekend has stalled during the past 24 hours, prompting NOAA forecasters to downgrade the chance of a strong M-class solar flare to only 15%. Apart from an isolated M-class flare in October 2017, and four X-class flares in September 2017 our Sun has gone into a slumber.

In Indonesia, more than 197 million people live within 100km of a volcano, including more than 8.6 million inside a 10km radius.
The country has a record of some of the most deadly volcanic eruptions in history, and right now there are ongoing eruptions at the Agung, Sinabung and Dukono volcanoes. But other volcanoes in the region are active too, including Kadovar in Papua New Guinea, Mayon in the Philippines, and Kusatsu-Shiranesan in Japan.
These volcanoes are part of the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, a horseshoe-shaped belt of earthquakes and volcanoes that runs for some 40,000km, roughly around the edge of the Pacific Ocean. The Ring stretches from South America, up to North America and across the Bering straight, and down through Japan, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and New Zealand. It generates around 90% of the world’s earthquakes and contains 75% of its active volcanoes.
Here are the volcanoes on my Asia-Pacific watch list this week.

Agung, Bali, Indonesia

Sinabung, Sumatra, Indonesia

Mayon, Luzon, Philippines

Kadovar, Papua New Guinea

Kusatsu-Shirane, Honshu Japan

The Hungarian government has weighed in on the revelationsconcerning a plot by billionaire globalist George Soros to topple the British government and trigger another EU referendum.

“Soros is funding groups that are working to overturn Brexit, to reverse a decision taken at the request of UK voters, and to possibly topple the democratically elected government of Theresa May in the process,” observed Dr Zoltán Kovács, the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy.
“Let that sink in for a moment.”
Why do we say ’Stop Soros’? Just ask the people of the UK, where he’s working to overturn the Brexit referendum and perhaps topple a democratically elected government in the process. Latest on the BLOG https://t.co/P2EKExLNaw

It’s what scientists have termed a “grand minimum” — a particularly low point in what is otherwise a steady 11-year cycle.
Over this cycle, the sun’s tumultuous heart races and rests.
At its high point, the nuclear fusion at the sun’s core forces more magnetic loops high into its boiling atmosphere — ejecting more ultraviolet radiation and generating sunspots and flares.
When it’s quiet, the sun’s surface goes calm.
It ejects less ultraviolet radiation.
Now scientists have scoured the skies and history for evidence of an even greater cycle amid these cycles.

Thousands of desperate Venezuelans are trying to enter Colombia in a bid to escape the hunger and soaring crime rate caused by the spiralling economic crisis.
Incredible pictures show the mass exodus of refugees crossing the Simon Bolivar international bridge trying to flee the political crisis threatening to engulf Venezuela.
Colombia - along with its neighbour Brazil - has sent extra soldiers to patrol their porous border with the country after officially taking in more than half a million migrants over the last six months of 2017.
The country is also tightening its border controls in a bid to stem the flow.
The dire economic conditions have led to lawlessness in parts of Venezuela's capital Caracas, with truck drivers subjected to 'Mad Max' violence as looters target heavy goods vehicles carrying food.
