More War Preps: Iran Sends Battleships To Yemen, Pentagon Moves Gear Into Cheyenne Mountain Amid EMP Threat, N Korea Ballistic Missiles

Iran Sends Battleships To Yemen Amid Standoff With Saudis

Iran dispatched a naval destroyer and another vessel Wednesday to waters near Yemen, ratcheting up tensions with Saudi Arabia, which is leading a coalition to quash a Shiite rebellion. The rebels, back by Iran, have deposed the US-backed Sunni leader and captured large swaths of territory in the embattled country in recent months.

Iran’s Chief of the Judiciary Sadeq Amoli Larijani warned Saudi Arabia to stop its “aggression” against Yemen or wait for “dire consequences.

“This blatant aggression of a government which claims [to be leading] Islam, against the Muslim people of another country who want to decide their fate will not remain unanswered,” Larijani told the Fars News Agency, referring to Saudi Arabia.

“When naive individual decisions are made in a country that doesn’t have the least experience of democracy, has no parliament and no elections — the result will be the aggression of a state that claims to be the leader of Islam to another Muslim nation,” he said.

The maneuver comes amid an intense Saudi-led Gulf Arab air campaign targeting the Yemeni rebels, known as Houthis, who come from a Shiite sect. Critics say Shiite power Iran backs the Houthis, though both the Islamic Republic and the rebels deny any direct military assistance.

The US says that the chaos has allowed the local al-Qaeda branch, which it considers the world’s most dangerous wing of the group, to make “great gains” on the ground, prompting Washington to rethink how it prevents it from launching attacks in the West.

The Pentagon is beefing up its communications setup inside a hollowed-out section of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains less than a decade after it had largely abandoned the site.

The gear is being moved into Cheyenne Mountain to protect it from electromagnetic pulses, said Adm. William Gortney, commander of U.S.Northern Command and NORAD.

“[T]here is a lot of movement to put capability into Cheyenne Mountain and to be able to communicate in there,” Gortney said Tuesday during a news briefing at the Pentagon.

Electromagnetic pulses, or EMPs, can occur naturally or by manmade devices such as nuclear weapons. For years, the Pentagon has been working on building weapons that could fry the electronic equipment of an enemy during battle.

“Because of the very nature of the way that Cheyenne Mountain is built, it’s EMP-hardened,” Gortney said. “It wasn’t really designed to be that way, but the way it was constructed makes it that way.”

Being able to communicate during an EMP attack is important, Gortney said.

“My primary concern was: ‘Are we going to have the space inside the mountain for everybody that wants to move in there?’ … but we do have that capability,” he said.
Last week, the Pentagon awarded defense firm Raytheon a $700-million contract to install new equipment inside the mountain. The company said the contract, which runs through 2020, will “support threat warnings and assessments for the North American Aerospace Defense Command Cheyenne Mountain Complex.”

The Colorado complex is the embodiment of the Cold War, an era when bunkers were built far and wide to protect people and infrastructure. Cheyenne Mountain was the mother of these fallout shelters, a command center buried deep to withstand a Soviet nuclear bombardment. The complex was locked down during the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington.

Our entire way of life can be ended in a single day. And it wouldn’t even take a nuclear war to do it.  All it would take for a rogue nation or terror organization to bring us to our knees is the explosion of a couple well-placed nuclear devices high up in our atmosphere. The resulting electromagnetic pulses would fry electronics from coast to coast. Of course this could also be accomplished without any attack. Scientists tell us that massive solar storms have hit our planet before, and that it is inevitable that there will be more in the future. As you will read about below, the most recent example of this was “the Carrington Event” in 1859. If a similar burst from the sun hit us today, experts tell us that life in America could suddenly resemble life in the 1800s, and the economic damage caused could potentially be in the trillions of dollars. This is one of the greatest potential threats that we are facing as a nation, and yet Barack Obama has essentially done nothing to get us prepared.

The technology necessary to conduct such an electromagnetic pulse attack against the United States has become much more accessible in recent years. According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, even rogue nations such as North Korea and Iran either already have or will soon have the capability to hurt us in this way…

Rogue nations such as North Korea (and possibly Iran) will soon match Russia and China and have the primary ingredients for an EMP attack: simple ballistic missiles such as Scuds that could be launched from a freighter near our shores; space-launch vehicles able to loft low-earth-orbit satellites; and simple low-yield nuclear weapons that can generate gamma rays and fireballs.

If a successful, large scale EMP attack ever did take place, it would be a catastrophe beyond anything that the United States has ever seen before. The EMP Commission, which was established by Congress, says that it is likely that most of us would end up dead

What would a successful EMP attack look like? The EMP Commission, in 2008, estimated that within 12 months of a nationwide blackout, up to 90% of the U.S. population could possibly perish from starvation, disease and societal breakdown.

If you are a terrorist, a dictator or a fanatic that is looking for a “killshot” for the United States, those kinds of numbers would certainly get your attention.
And it was recently reported by WND that the Iranian military has already been playing around with such a scenario…

Peter Vincent Pry, who is executive director of a congressional advisory group called the Task Force on National and Homeland Security, raised the alarm as the agreement is about to be finalized.
He said U.S. military officials have confirmed such an Iranian plan.
“Iranian military documents describe such a scenario – including a recently translated Iranian military textbook that endorses nuclear EMP attack against the United States,” Pry wrote in a recent column in Israel’s main online media network, Aruz Sheva.

The consequences of such an attack could be catastrophic; all electronics, power systems, and information systems could be shut down,” Rep. Scott Perry said in prepared remarks during anEMP hearing in May held by the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security. “This could then cascade into interdependent infrastructures such as water, gas, and telecommunications. While we understand this is an extreme case, we must always be prepared in case a rogue state decides to utilize this technology.”

So to not take steps to protect our power grid from such an attack is very foolish. But that is precisely what Barack Obama (and presidents before him) have chosen to do. We have technology which would mitigate the damage from an electromagnetic pulse, but rather than spend the money Obama has decided to just hope that it will never happen.
Up to this point, we have been fortunate.
But someday, our luck may run out.

North Korea is armed with hundreds of ballistic missiles which have the potential to hit neighbouring countries, researchers have warned.
According to a US study investigating what the hermit kingdom's nuclear capabilities will look like by 2020, North Korea will need foreign technology in order to upgrade its arsenal and pose a direct threat to Washington.

The nation’s aggressive rhetoric and periodic missile tests have made other nations in the region nervous, as negotiations to persuade it to disarm remain unlikely.

Just last week, North Korea's military fired seven missiles into the sea as US and South Korean forces performed military exercises off its coastline, according to Seoul officials.

The research was published by the North Korean Futures Project – a joint effort by the U.S.-Korea Institute at John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and National Defense University's Centre for the Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
It concluded that North Korea’s inventory of around 1,000 missiles, based on old Soviet technology, can already reach most targets in South Korea and Japan.

There is now mounting evidence and undeniable proof that the world is actively preparing for economic life after the death of the Dollar. The facts are now quantifiable, and for those if us who are accustomed to this moment is history where the Dollar is still technically “the world’s reserve currency” and cheap imports fill big box stores, the truth of what’s occurring globally RIGHT NOW as discussed in this interview with Miles Franklin’s Bill Holter is startling – if not downright frightening.

Bill’s recent article TRIGGERS shows how the pieces of the anti-Dollar puzzle are rapidly falling into place: The AIIB is only one piece of the De-Dollarization puzzle, another is the new clearing system set to directly compete with SWIFT. While other important puzzle pieces include the BRICS bank, and the Shanghai PHYSICAL metals exchange which is set to go live very soon, potentially breaking the back of the Comex, the LBMA and the fiat Ponzi which to this point, has protected the Dollar by keeping precious metals prices artificially low through massive paper manipulation.

Bill Holter says, I believe that the world has for the last at least two years, has been preparing themselves to move away from the dollar. But also, they’ve been isolating the U.S., isolating the West, because they KNOW a collapse is coming. And if they can isolate the Western financial system, with them outside the system as much as can be, then they can mitigate the damage to themselves.

With Muslim immigrants streaming into the United States at a rate of 100,000 per year, some of the communities targeted for new arrivals are seeking information on their new neighbors, only to be frustrated by federal bureaucrats and their hired contractors.

How does a city get on the U.S. State Department’s list of 190 communities selected for refugee resettlement? How can cities find out who will be coming and when? What services will they use, and what will be the cost to taxpayers?

And, the granddaddy of all questions: Can the communities be assured that foreign nationals with ties to ISIS, al-Shabab and other Islamic terrorist groups won’t slip through the government’s porous screening process posing as “refugees”?

The answers to these questions are simple. Very little information is available. And there are no guarantees that some very bad apples won’t arrive in your town, says a leading expert on the refugee resettlement program.

One community that is trying to get information right now is Spartanburg, South Carolina.

When an agency like World Relief opens an office in a city, it means refugees will be arriving soon. There are no public hearings or announcements in local media, Corcoran said. Typically a story will appear in the local newspaper just before or after the first arrivals appear in town.
Corcoran met some activists at Gaffney’s conference who wanted to find out more about the plans for resettling United Nations-certified refugees in their city.
“It is like pulling teeth to get any information,” Corcoran said. “And these are long-term grassroots activists who know how to get information.”
The mayor of Athens, Georgia, who asked for the same type of report last year, encountered the same blackout of information.

WND reported in February that a senior FBI counter-terrorism official, Michael Steinbach, testified before the House homeland security committee and admitted that the U.S. lacks the capability to properly screen out terrorists and terrorist sympathizers from the ranks of the U.N. refugee program.
Another issue is school overcrowding and the need to pay for interpreters and tutors who can speak obscure tribal languages. A Spartanburg activist was scheduled to meet with Gowdy Wednesday to discuss the impact of refugees on the local education system.
Corcoran said World Relief has been withholding basic information on its resettlement plans, such as how many refugees will be coming from what countries over what time frame and their religious affiliations.
“They’re saying Syrians, Bhutanese and or Congolese. These World Relief lackeys our activists are dealing with on the local level are saying it’s only going to be Syrian Christians, which is BS,” Corcoran said. “Ninety percent of the Syrians coming into the country right now are Muslim. But they lie to them and tell them it’s going to be Christians. That is just not so; they don’t get to pick like that. They’re going to get the whole mix (as assigned by the United Nations), and they’re probably going to get Somalis, too.
“The bottom line here, though, is that they’re trying to get the information pulled out from everyone who is looking into this.”
