Today's news are particularly interesting, because several stories reveal the progress being made towards prophetic fulfillment.
With regard to the first article - we see continuation of a theme that we have been following. To be succinct, many of us believe that the confirmation of the covenant (Daniel 9:27) - which will serve to mark the beginning of the Tribulation and define the antichrist's identity - will involve whatever peace-keeping forces will be present in the aftermath of the "covenant". This idea is based on the premise that many "covenants" have been signed, but not "confirmed" due to ensuing violence following each "agreement". Whenever the covenant of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed, it will involve peace-keeping forces.
And in keeping with the biblical prophecy that the antichrist will come from the 10 kings, which is an outgrowth of the EU/"Revived Roman Empire" - we would expect to see agreements that peace-keeping forces would not come from the U.S. or Israel, but from the EU.
Therefore, watching the developments in terms of who, or what nations will be involved in this critical aspect of the process of confirming the covenant is of great interest. (Caveat: what we are seeing now is simply road paving into the final covenant of Daniel 9:27 - a laying of the groundwork - however it can be safely assumed that the ideas presented now will carry over into the covenant of Daniel 9:27. The hour is too late for there to be a complete disconnect between these plans and the plan "confirmed" by the antichrist.).
We've been waiting for the proposal for U.S. peace-keeping forces to be shot down and for the EU to step into the void.
Another emerging trend, as seen in the subsequent articles reveals the presence of Genesis 12:3 and God's promises to those who "bless" Israel and those who "curse" Israel.
Following these articles, we see the emerging trends present in the formation of world unions (10?) which is consistent with the notion that the 10 kings could be 10 world unions based on the EU model and in essence, an outgrowth of the EU, particularly if EU leadership ends up gaining control of such unions.
All in all, today we see emerging trends which are entirely consistent with biblical prophecy in our age:
Clearly something is serious amiss at the Washington end: Geneva II was a fiasco; the deal Kerry struck with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov last year for the elimination of Syria’s chemical arsenal is bogged down; the six-power nuclear negotiations with Iran, intended additionally to produce a formula for ending the Syrian conflict, has had the opposite effect: Iranian forces remain involved in the escalation of the slaughter and, while razing street after street in Aleppo with barrel bombs, Bashar Assad retains a firm grip on power.
The two US senators were only stating the obvious when they called on the Secretary of State to account for US policy failures in the face of these disasters.
The two US senators were only stating the obvious when they called on the Secretary of State to account for US policy failures in the face of these disasters.
On another front, President Barack Obama’s National Security Adviser Susan Rice also rose to Kerry’s defense against the criticism directed against him from Israel. “Personal attacks in Israel directed at Sec Kerry totally unfounded and unacceptable,” she tweeted Monday.
In the latest example of a US misconception, the New York Times Monday, Feb. 3 quoted Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas as proposing that a US-led NATO force patrol a future Palestinian state.
Setting aside the impression that the Abbas suggestion was inspired by Washington, it must be asked how the Obama administration imagines Israel will consent to relegating its security and ongoing struggle against Palestinian terrorism to US, British, German or French troops – especially after Afghanistan and Iraq.
Would these imported foreign contingents fight their way through the alleys of the refugee camps of Bethlehem or Jenin to chase down Hamas and Jihad Islami terrorists and confront them in hand to hand combat? Failing this, would trained Israeli anti-terrorist forces be allowed to storm across the border to do the job? Wouldn’t the US-led NATO force stop them at the border of the new Palestinian state?
This and other irreconcilable differences in the approach to Israel’s security may explain the unconfirmed rumor that Secretary Kerry has decided to postpone the presentation of his proposed framework accord to Israel and the Palestinians, realizing that a change in strategy might be useful in this case too.
[Reference: Genesis 12:3]
A group of rabbis, including the founder of the far-right Our Land of Israel party, wrote in an open to letter to US Secretary of State John Kerry that he had declared war against God through his current mediation efforts between Israel and Palestinian negotiators, and said he must cease such activities to avoid divine punishment.
The letter was sent by the Committee to Save the Land and People of Israel, founded by Rabbi Sholom Dov Wolpo, who also founded the Our Land of Israel party, as an activist group to oppose political accords with the Palestinians involving territorial concessions.
“Your incessant efforts to expropriate integral parts of our Holy Land and hand them over to Abbas’s terrorist gang, amount to a declaration of war against the Creator and Ruler of the universe! For G-d awarded the entire Land of Israel to our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in order that they bequeath it, as an everlasting inheritance, to their descendants, the Jewish people, until the end of all time,” the letter reads.
The rabbis argue that Kerry’s plans endangers Israeli Jews by bringing them within close range of potential rocket and missile fire from the West Bank should it be ceded by Israel to the Palestinians.
“If you continue on this destructive path, you will ensure your everlasting disgrace in Jewish history for bringing calamity upon the Jewish people,” continued the rabbis
“By the power of our Holy Torah, we admonish you to cease immediately all efforts to achieve these disastrous agreements – in order to avoid severe Heavenly punishment for everyone involved,” they threatened.
The letter was signed by Rabbi Wolpo, along with four other rabbis including Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, the founder and Chairman of the Temple Institute; Rabbi Yigal Pizam, the Dean of a Yeshiva and a leader of the Chabad community in the Haifa neighborhood of Kiryat Shmuel; Rabbi Gedalya Axelrod, the emeritus head of the Haifa Rabbinic Court; and Rabbi Ben Tziyon Grossman from the town of Migdal Haemek.
A group of right-wing nationalist rabbis warned that US Secretary of State John Kerry’s efforts vis-a-vis an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement and two-state solution would result in “severe Heavenly punishment,” and compared Kerry to some of the greatest historical enemies of the Jewish people.
The group closed its letter by comparing Kerry to Haman, the villain in the Book of Esther– recited during the upcoming holiday of Purim — who was said to have plotted a genocide against the Jewish people.
Haman, they wrote, “contrived a vicious plot” but “he and his sons eventually were hung on the very same gallows he had prepared for Mordechai, the Jew… For, concerning those who work against us, the Bible promises (Isaiah 9:5), ‘Conspire a plan and it will be frustrated; talk the talk and it will not be fulfilled, for G-d is with us!’”
The group, which according to its website was founded in 2003, focuses on agitating against any Israeli withdrawals from the West Bank and Golan Heights.
The letter was signed by Gedalya Axelrod, emeritus head of Haifa Rabbinic Court; Yisrael Ariel, chairman of the Temple Institute; Ben Tziyon Grossman, a rabbi in Migdal Haemek; Shalom Dov Wolpo, dean of the Institute for Complete Code of Maimonides; and Yigal Pizam, head of the Yeshiva of Kiryat Shmuel. The rabbis said they represent “hundreds of other Rabbis in Israel and around the world.”
Dominant Social Theme: Emerging markets need more coordination.
Free-Market Analysis: This is an interesting article because it shows us agendas that may lurk behind the headlines. Usually the agenda is a globalist one, and in this case it may be as well.
We've already pointed out that one side effect – intentional or not – is to concentrate capital in US and European equity markets. The flattening of gold and silver markets surely contributes to this trend.
But perhaps another element in the rolling crash – if that is what it is – involves further centralization. We went looking and found several articles on the subject. Here's an excerpt from a recent Voice of Russia article:
BRICS: economic or political Union? The BRICS block is gaining stature in the international arena despite doubts about its viability. Once united by similar economic trends, the BRICS countries are now moving from an economic to a political agenda.
And regular BRICS summits as well as the meetings among the heads of states on the sidelines of major international forums, are yet more evidence of their assertiveness in international politics. And though their economic growth - seen as a driver of economic recovery in the post-2008 world - has slowed, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are as close as never before.
Georgy Toloraya, the executive director of Russia's BRICS National Research Committee, and Charles Robertson, global chief economist with Renaissance Capital shared their vies on BRICS with the Voice of Russia:
Georgy Toloraya believes: "BRICS is widely perceived as being a sort of economic union which it is not, and it's been especially clear when the BRICS economies are slowing down and in fact it is bringing them together, and the range of problems which BRICS addresses - political security and global governance issues - are high and high on the agenda.
"For example in St Petersburg they discussed many political issues - Syria and others, and I this is a tendency which will develop in the future. I think the BRICS will widen its scope of activities and address more and more issues. And I don't even exclude that the number of BRICS countries might be enlarged.
"The most likely candidate is Indonesia, which, as many experts say, will be a Muslim addition to the BRICS. At the same time Egypt last year expressed its desire to join the block transforming it into E-BRICS.
Now, it is true that this article was posted January 21st, and thus was written just prior to the latest manifestation of the "emerging markets crisis." But it would seem, according to the Telegraph article, that consolidation immediately surges to the fore as an option.
In this case, while we have been looking elsewhere, a plan for the BRICs is advancing that includes not just consolidated economic clout but also political centralization. This is similar to what is going on in the EU and in Africa as well, where various forces are said to be driving both a political and currency union.
It is always the way in this modern era. No matter the problem, the solution is further centralization – and even, in the case of the BRICs, an expansion of the core group to include other countries like Indonesia.
Justice Antonin Scalia says World War II-style internment camps could happen again ... Justice Antonin Scalia predicts that the Supreme Court will eventually authorize another wartime abuse of civil rights such as the internment camps for Japanese-Americans during World War II. – WashingtonExaminer
Dominant Social Theme: Whatever is happening is fully justified and in the best interests of the "American people."
Free-Market Analysis: This is a very disturbing article, but one that could surely be accurate. It is apparently based on a report from the AP that puts Scalia's comments in a more speculative – hypothetical – light, as follows:
Avi Soifer, the law school's dean, said he believed Scalia was suggesting people always have to be vigilant and that the law alone can't be trusted to provide protection.
But regardless of the imminence – or lack thereof – implied by Scalia, the implications of his remarks logically extend the trend that the "War on Terror" has already begun. Hyper-security (Homeland Security, etc.) along with travel and financial restrictions and censorship could – almost inevitably – include the potential for increased draconian measures up to and including camps of various sorts.
Also, we have a feeling – just a feeling – that Scalia is sounding a warning based on what's being discussed at high levels around him. In other words, he is not just speculating but has decided to broach a subject of considerable speculation within the military, Intel agencies, etc.
Here's part of the AP report:
Scalia was responding to a question about the court's 1944 decision in Korematsu v. United States, which upheld the convictions of Gordon Hirabayashi and Fred Korematsu for violating an order to report to an internment camp.
Scalia cited a Latin expression meaning "In times of war, the laws fall silent."
"That's what was going on — the panic about the war and the invasion of the Pacific and whatnot. That's what happens. It was wrong, but I would not be surprised to see it happen again, in time of war. It's no justification but it is the reality," he said.
No doubt, the Japanese camps in the USA were part of a larger, calculated provocation designed to further polarize US citizens when it came to the war with the Japanese. In other words, the camps served as a kind of propaganda campaign.
Surely modern internment camps, if they come, will also be used for propaganda purposes. But the propaganda will be different, as the war being waged is different as well. It is a "war on terror" – with all the ambiguity that includes.
Of course, while there is ambiguity, there is also a good bit of certainty as to whom the targets are. Homeland Security on various occasions has not been shy about identifying certain groups. These include "Constitutionalists," "Preppers," "Truthers," etc. ... in fact, almost anyone who has a gripe with the current direction of the US and its ever-eroding freedoms and civil rights.
Why would the US government pursue such interments? The obvious answer is that those running the government are doing so at the behest of a larger globalist crowd that wants to break US exceptionalism once and for all.
Is Scalia sounding the alarm? The post-9/11 environment has been clearly one of ever-increasing government activism that has expanded civil and military police actions and Western Intel operations as well.
The NSA abuses are merely a small part of what is taking place. The FBI, CIA, MI5 and MI6, the Mossad, NATO and other facilities of Western power – including myriad other intelligence agencies that no one has heard much about – have all expanded their activities and technology. It seems the US – the West – is not being run by organized political entities anymore (if ever it was).
More and more obviously, the EU, Britain and US are run to benefit internationalist agendas that seek an ever-closer global union, both politically and economically. Military, Intel and civilian entities act as the enforcement arm for these agendas. They are as much an occupying force as they are entities of "democracy."
It is for this reason that Scalia is doubtless correct when he predicts the possibility of these camps – or at least their potential functionality. The framework is already in place, the motive is clear and the reality may not be far off if the determination to re-establish this sad chapter in US history exists ...
Pope Francis apparently plansto heed Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's calls, and use hisupcoming visit to Israel in May as a propaganda move for the Palestine Authority (PA) against Israel, according to reports in Makor Rishon.
The revelation comes from Rabbi Sergio Bergman, a member of the Argentinian parliament and close friend of Pope Francis, who claimed the pope intends to define himself as the "Che Guevera of the Palestinians" and support their "struggle and rights."
In late December it was similarly noted that the pope will not host "mass" prayer services in Jerusalem during his trip, but instead in PA-controlled Bethlehem as a show of support. The move is slightly ironic, as most Christians have reportedly been driven out of the city by Muslims, while Abbas has claimed "Jesus was Palestinian."

Last July, Elkin rejected reports that the foreign ministry was planning to sign an agreement transferring all or part of King David's Tomb, located on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, to the Vatican. Above the tomb is located a room in which the Catholic Church claims the "Last Supper" occurred.
Despite Elkin's assurances, Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder of the Temple Institute, warned in late January that the pope's visit may be timed for exactly such a transfer of ownership to occur, referencing the 2008 agreement by the government to relinquish control of the historic Russian Compound buildings in Jerusalem to Russian control. The offices of the Agriculture Ministry and the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel vacated the premises in 2011.

Students for Justice in Palestine is a vicious, violent, antisemitic organization that hopes to contribute to Israel’s destruction. With U.S. campuses a hotbed of antisemitic and anti-Israeli agitation driven mainly by Muslim and leftist organizations, the Anti-Defamation League has called SJP the “most ubiquitous” of these groups.
SJP was founded by Islamic and Marxist activists at Berkeley in 2001. One of its cofounders, Hatem Bazian, is a senior lecturer at UC Berkeley who won notoriety in 2004 by calling for an intifada in the United States. Before cofounding SJP, Bazam was a student activist at San Francisco State University and, according to Rabbi Doug Kahn, “more responsible than any other student on campus for trying to make life miserable for Jewish students.” That included working to keep students with Jewish last names out of student government.
SJP’s other cofounder is Snehal Shingavi, a Marxist and member of the International Socialist Organization. Shingavi, now at the University of Texas at Austin, made a national splash in 2002 when he offered a course at Berkeley on “Palestinian Resistance” and said conservatives need not apply. He has praised the Taliban, Iraqi terror, and Hamas, and his collaboration with Bazian was a classic case of the Red-Green Alliance.
Excellent thumbnail, Scott, of where we currently are in terms of prophetic events. Wow, it's almost surreal to think about Rabbis sending a letter to Kerry warning about Gen. 12:3.
ReplyDeleteI read an interesting comment referring to 1 Thess. 5:3, (This is the same chapter that speaks about the Church not being called to wrath). (verse 3) "While people are saying, 'Peace and safety,' destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."
The comment I read was making the point that the word "destruction" mentioned in this verse is a direct reference to the Rapture. I always thought about "destruction" meaning more missiles headed into Israel or the like-- but if you think about what will happen to the world once the Church is taken up, "destruction" could mean everything that will in sum due to believers not being in the world anymore-- total chaos.
If this interpretation is correct the verse could be read instead (paraphrasing)… "While people are saying, 'Ppeace and safety,' the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout suddenly, and those remaining will not escape."
Just leads me to believe, all the more, that there's a whole lot of us who aren't going to be around to see the mortgages on our houses paid off. : ) And all indications are-- it could be sooner rather than later.
I have a comment that is totally off the headliner here, but is deeply troubling to me. The ffrf. Freedom from religion foundation. Just this week they filled a motion or complained that a coach prayed in the name of Jesus before a football game, and sent a letter to council members demanding they remove the Nativity scene from courthouse property. The school system which has already bowed down to them as I suspect will the council.....Why??? Two or three non believers can take Jesus out , while Christians stand idle.....court systems side with these varmits. I'm trying...very hard...bit I find it hard to "love one another"... very troubled by this.

1 Thessalonians 5:3 is describing a Mid-Trib event, but in context, as the preceding Verses in this Chapter clearly state, it is the "Day of the Lord". it is not the Rapture.
ReplyDelete"Destruction" means just that, especially as this is describing a Mid-Trib event. The Rapture will occur before the Trib. This also has nothing to due with Jesus instantly destroying the enemies of God at the END of the Trib. Those that are "remaining will not escape", are those Jewish People that dont "flee" but remain when the "abomination of desolation" occurs Mid-Trib. That is why Jesus warned them to "flee" in Matthew 24, and He referenced Daniel in that Scripture...

ReplyDeleteNo disputing your most excellent interpretation.
The phrase “the day of the Lord,” is used nineteen times in the Old Testament, and four times in the New Testament & alluded to in other passages Rev.
Most people associate the day of the Lord with a period of time or a special day that will occur when God’s will and purpose for the world and for mankind will be fulfilled. Some scholars believe that the day of the Lord will be a longer period of time than a single day—a period of time when Christ will reign throughout the world before He cleanses heaven and earth in preparation for the eternal state of all mankind. Other scholars believe the day of the Lord will be an instantaneous event when Christ returns to earth to redeem His faithful believers and send unbelievers to eternal damnation.
My comments were spoken in the spirit of a broader interpretation of the term, "day of the Lord," and as I noted-- the escape of the wrath of the Church is mentioned in this same chapter.
My apology to anyone if I confused them about precise prophetic events. My intent was meant as "encouragement" (a broader end-times "day of the Lord" interpretation) in a time when many people find it hard to find any (or to ever express any) encouragement.
Forgive me "harness", but your speculation was of the Rapture associated with 1 Thess 5:3 specifically.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your other information you posted regarding the "Day of the Lord". However, perhaps it would be good to place quotes, and share the link, of this information that you posted so as others can copy, paste, and save it too. :)
Question: "What is the day of the Lord?"
http://www.gotquestions.org/day-of-the-Lord.html
Dear Sisters,
ReplyDeleteI think I can see a little of this but the reason I think that the Day of the Lord is the last 3 and 1/2 years is because of the warning in Amos
Amos 5:18
Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! Why would you want the day of the Lord? It is darkness and not light;
Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light? Even very dark with no brightness in it?
Also Isaiah 13 :9 and forward.
H&L I think your idea that this will break loose when we are removed is understandable but it is actually the Abomination of Desolation that sets it off. The bigger point is that we are to LONG for Jesus to come but we are NOT to long for the Day of the Lord.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your input.
Some are way ahead of others in terms of knowing all the specifics of prophecy-- others of us are still learning-- that's why I appreciate this webpage so much because Scott explains things well when he's relaying the headlines.
Again, no intent on my part to confuse anyone & I've learned a lesson, today. Even when trying to "encourage" it's important to do it in a way that doesn't betray the sequence of prophetic events, because what's going on in the world is hard enough to understand as they are.
Appreciate your 2cents & the manner in which you said it.
Showers in "Maranatha, Our Lord Comes" - does the best job of explaining "The Day Of The Lord" in my opinion. Its actually a pretty deep complicated topic that many of us (me included) tend to over-simplify.
ReplyDeleteThats just more reason I highly recommend thisbook to everyone.
Thanks for mentioning Showers' book again, Scott--due to visual limitations, all my reading's done on Kindle & this book isn't available in that format, but going to order it anyway & use a more tedious hand held magnifier to read it, & going to get your book, too, while I'm at it.
ReplyDeleteIf the Rapture happens soon-- I'll be the one carrying books!
