Israel Working With Saudi Arabia For Iran Strike?

The rumors have been circulating recently, about Israel and Saudi Arabia sharing the same concerns over Iran, and Saudi Arabia offering Israel assistance in a strike against Iran. Now the Times of Israel is reporting on this developing story:

Israel is working on coordinating plans for a possible military strike with Saudi Arabia, with Riyadh prepared to provide tactical support to Jerusalem, a British newspaper reported early Sunday.
The two countries have both united in worry that the West may come to terms with Iran, easing sanctions and allowing the Islamic Republic to continue its nuclear program.

According to the Sunday Times, Riyadh has agreed to let Israel use its airspace in a military strike on Iran and cooperate over the use of rescue helicopters, tanker planes and drones.
“The Saudis are furious and are willing to give Israel all the help it needs,” an unnamed diplomatic source told the paper.
The report comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in the midst of a blitz to lobby against a deal and cobble together an international alliance opposed to an agreement that allows Iran to continue enriching uranium.

On Sunday, Israel will welcome French president Francois Hollande, who a week earlier put the kibosh on a deal between six world powers and Iran that would ease sanctions in return for initial steps toward curbing enrichment.
Netanyahu on Friday urged France to remain firm in its pressure on Iran ahead of a new round of talks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in Geneva, kicking off Wednesday.
After meeting Hollande, Netanyahu will head to Moscow on Wednesday to meet with President Vladimir Putin and lobby against the deal.
Iran’s bid for the bomb “threatens directly the future of the Jewish state,” Netanyahu told CNN recently, in a short preview clip of an interview broadcast on Saturday.

As the prime minister of Israel, he stressed, he had to care for “the survival of my country.”
CNN reported that Netanyahu also said in the interview that he would do whatever it was necessary to do in order to protect Israel. The full interview will air Sunday morning.
Should a deal be reached, according to the diplomatic source, a military option would be back on the table. Saudi tactical support, in lieu of backup from the Pentagon, would be vital for a long-range mission targeting Iran’s nuclear program.
Saudi Arabia, a Sunni Muslim country across the Persian Gulf from Iran has long been at odds with Tehran, and fears a nuclear weapon would threaten Riyadh and set off a nuclear arms race in the region.

  1. Surprised....and yet not surprised. SA and Iran have long been at odds in basically a life and death struggle that's been muted in the larger profile disputes. Iran has been move open and vocal about it, SA working quietly and behind the scenes....but they've both been working.

My fear....and its a huge fear...is that once Israel makes the decision and starts, we will detect it and either warn Iran or, worse yet, actively try and stop Israel...and that includes militarily.

I guess, in short, there is just no level of betrayal I put beyond those in power in this country now.

  2. Just heard a great one and thought I might pass it along....

When Jimmy Carter is questioning someone's competence...

And Bill Clinton is questioning their honesty...

That someone's got a serious problem!

  3. Heh :) -- Agree with both posts. But the first comment above rings so true - I have that same exact fear. I would hope that we wouldn't be so brazen, but as you say, there is no level of betrayal I wouldn't put past this gang. After all look at how they leaked the Israeli attacks against Syrian weapons. That was an enormous betrayal.

  4. I'm thinking too of Israel's coming troubles because of compromise and dependency on countries who do not worship Yahweh, but Allah or military machines.

Just as all people are judged for blessing or cursing Israel, they too are under great testing as to Whom they depend on.But there is no help for anyone rejoicing in the judgments from God as if any of us are blame free.

Yes pray for the peace of Jerusalem. But watch too because a coming peace pact will spell the greatest tribulation of all time.

I think this is a template for Christians too.We are to live in peace with all men ,as much as it is up to us,but Jesus is clear that He brought a sword into our very midst as we are identified with Him.

Praying this morning for continued growth in His body .A fresh understanding of His love. Let us put on His mind,be clothed with Him and then covered in the armor of God. Having done al to stand.

I pray that for Israel too.

  5. Good Morning All,

We are standing at a door, today is a door of decision. Pray that those asleep in the pew (spiritually asleep) will suddenly wake up and understand our redemption is now at hand.

If a Nation betrays Isreal at this point...it will result in a great woe for that Nation.

  6. Hi All-

I must say The Lord is speaking quite loudly in our area today. These fronts of warm/cold are slamming in now and tornado warnings are now out.

A tornado hit with very strong winds south of us. May everyone pray for those of us who are not wishing the punishment thanks to O and the evil leaders of the world. We are getting slammed with lots of lighting and wind as it pushes through throughout the day. May many come to lean in, press in on and rely on The Lord. Please come to your accept your wonderful invitation of salvation today.

    Got to run. God Bless!!

  7. On this Lord's Day I'm most thankful today for two things… His sovereignty & His word. It's so easy to get caught up in anxiety over what's happening we forget the peace God intended us to have. This "story" (all of history) has an author, director, finisher & completer. I'm very thankful for His word-- He could've chosen not to tell us anything about what would happen, but He did tell us some things so it wouldn't take us by surprise, & so we'd know to watch & be ready. “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

As we watch things unfold, we pray for those in harms way, but we thank you Lord, today for your sovereignty, your word, & ask for your peace. We watch, in awe, as You continue Your story & bring this evil world to it's knees.
