Will Syria Be The Middle East Tipping Point?

It may well be. Right now it seems to be a race between Iran reaching nuclear capability vs. the U.S.-Russian proxy war in Syria.

Another problem with Syria is beginning to emerge and we should have seen this coming a mile away.

This is worth taking another look at Genesis 12:3 (perhaps there is an 'exclusion' for the United States in this scripture....No, I'm not seeing it are you?)

"I will bless those who bless you
and whoever curses you, I will curse"

No exclusions for America here.
So the question then becomes quite simple. Are we blessing Israel or are we cursing Israel?

An extensive global jihad center is developing right on Israel’s doorstep, the IDF’s head of military research Aviv Kochavi said Tuesday evening, warning about the throngs of jihadi fighters infiltrating Syria.

“Before our eyes, right in our backyard, a global center for jihad is developing [in Syria], which can affect not only Syria and Israel but also Lebanon, Jordan, and the Sinai Peninsula, and can radiate to the entire region,” the major general said at a graduation ceremony for intelligence officers.

“Syria is one of our biggest enemies,” Kochavi said, “and it’s becoming a regional center for jihad — who are also enemies of Israel.”
For example, Jabhat al-Nusra, or the Nusra Front, a radical group fighting Assad in Syria, announced that it had merged with al-Qaeda’s branch in Iraq in April.

Kochavi also warned that some of the groups aligned with the Syrian rebels are not fighting for the same goal that the opposition is. “The extremist Muslims and jihad fighters being drawn there are no longer merely trying to overthrow [Syrian President Bashar] Assad but to set up a religious Islamic state,” he explained.

Kochavi’s comments came as officials in Washington are debating greater involvement in the Syrian conflict, specifically whether or not to arm the Syrian rebels, and as the United Nations Security Council is gearing up for an informal meeting with the Syrian opposition to explore ways to end the war.

IDF officials have previously stated that the Syrian conflict doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon, particularly as foreign jihadi fighters are flocking to the country.
Meanwhile, Israel’s fence along the Syrian border is expected to be completed next month.

Following a run-in last week with Arizona Senator John McCain during a meeting of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Joint Chiefs of Staff boss Gen. Martin Dempsey said on Monday U.S. involvement in Syria will cost billions.

“I know that the decision to use force is not one that any of us takes lightly,” Dempsey said in a letter to Sen. Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. “It is no less than an act of war.”

In May, it was reported that the Obama administration had asked the Pentagon to begin planning for a Syrian no-fly zone. The request was timed to coincide with Secretary of State John Kerry’s trip to the Middle East.
The Obama administration instructed the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the first time to plan for multilateral military actions inside Syria, two officials told The Daily Beast. “The White House is still in contemplation mode but the planning is moving forward and it’s more advanced than it’s ever been,” an Obama administration official said.
“Washington is considering a no-fly zone to help Assad’s opponents,” an unnamed diplomat told the Wall Street Journal. He described the operation as limited “time-wise and area-wise, possibly near the Jordanian border.” The no-fly zone would reach over 25 miles into Syria. It would be enforced by U.S. Navy ships based in the Mediterranean or Red Sea and flown from Jordan.
Both McCain and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina have pushed for direct military intervention to depose the government of Bashar al-Assad.
“We need to create a no-fly zone,” Graham insisted on NBC’s Meet the Press last month. “We cannot take air power out of the equation.”

In an almost palpable irony, Russian and U.S. officials simultaneously announced their intent to move forward with controversial arms transfers to opposing sides in the Syrian civil war Monday.

If there were any doubts about the proxy nature ofSyria for the two sides, the announcements should put them to bed.
Congressional hurdles have been lifted and weapons will soon flow into the hands of Syrian rebels, according to a Reuters report

"We believe we are in a position that the administration can move forward," House of Representatives Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers told Reuters Monday.
Half a world away, a representative of Syria's embattled President Bashar al Assad left a meeting with Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
“All agreements between Russia and Syria in the area of arms deliveries are in place,” said Qadri Jamil on Monday. “The contracts continue and are in force.”

Meanwhile, the weapons Russia intends to deliver are of the S300 surface-to-air variety — which make enforcing a Western-backed no-fly zone all that much more dangerous, not to mention improbable.
The weapons transfers for the Americans have met resistance from within Washington political ranks. Vetting rebel groups in the middle of a civil war is a very difficult process.

Images obtained exclusively by Infowars show the aftermath of an alleged massacre of a Christian village in Syria during which men, women and children were slaughtered and churches desecrated by Obama-backed FSA rebels.

The photos, which were provided by a source inside the village of al-Duvair in Syria’s Western province of Homs, show ruined homes, ransacked churches as well as the burned remains of what looks like an infant

According to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA) on May 29, “The armed rebels affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) raided the Christian-populated al-Duvair village in Reef (outskirts of) Homs near the border with Lebanon….and massacred all its civilian residents, including women and children.”

However, our source tells us that the Syrian Army were able to intervene before the rebels were able to slaughter the entire village.
These are some of the very same rebels that the Obama administration is set to arm following the House and Senate Intelligence Committee’s green light for the White House to send heavy weaponry.
The decision to send arms was made despite a plethora of evidence confirming that FSA rebels have joined forces with Al-Qaeda terrorists and are committing atrocities on a routine basis. Some fighters have eventhreatened to commit more war crimes if heavy weaponry is not immediately sent by western powers, while others have vowed to attack the US and Europe once they are finished in Syria.

This is by no means the first time that western-backed rebels have attacked Christian churches in Syria. As we reported in June last year, images sent to us by a woman in Homs depicted a desecrated Catholic church as well as a member of the FSA posing for a photograph wearing a looted priest’s robe.
View the images below, some of which are disturbing.
