Approaching The Tribulation (V)

The idea that the entire world is rapidly approaching complete tyranny is now a known fact. The only question is, at this point, is just how far down that road we already are, as the shadow of the Tribulation looms larger and larger by the day.

One interesting aspect of the rapid demise of the U.S. is this:

For years prophecy watchers pondered what exactly would take the U.S. out of the prophetic picture (as evidenced by the fact that America is not mentioned, specifically, anywhere in the detailed biblical descriptions of the Tribulation). The ongoing assumption was that the Rapture of the Church would disproportionately affect the U.S. (and it will - regardless of how far the U.S. has fallen by the time of the 'gathering up').

But just a little over 4 years of the current regime has already pretty much effectively dismantled the U.S. both economically and militarily. The Rapture of the Church will now just further consolidate that effort.

Caroline Glick weighs in:

[While I agree with the "dangerous" part of this title, I have to respectively disagree that any aspect of the current U.S. regime is wounded. In fact, it seems obvious that these "leaks" relating to the dizzying array of scandals have been put in motion by the regime to reveal unabated power and control (notice how those responsible continue to receive promotions, rather than reprimand?) - and to serve as a warning - a warning not to contribute money to those who oppose the regime, a warning that you are being watched, a warning that nothing is going to change and ultimately - warnings that the current regime will punish those who dare to disagree.]

This is all strikingly similar to the old USSR.

On to Caroline Glick:

US Secretary of State John Kerry looks like a bit of an idiot these days. On Monday he announced that he will be returning to Israel and the Palestinian Authority and Jordan for the fifth time since he was sworn into office on February 1. That is an average of more than one visit a month.

Abbas and his underlings wasted no time, however, in demonstrating that indeed, Kerry’s plan is fantasy. Abbas appointed Rami Hamdallah, a Fatah apparatchik with perfect English, to replace America’s favorite moderate Palestinian, Salam Fayyad, as PA prime minister.

Abbas appointed Hamdallah the English professor from Nablus was because his language skills will enable him to make American and European donors feel comfortable as his colleagues in Fatah pick their taxpayer- funded pockets.

Aside from mooning Kerry in the middle of his speech in Jordan, Abbas couldn’t have thought of a more graphic way to show his contempt for Kerry and the Obama administration.

And again, that isn’t all. At the PLO’s birthday celebrations this week, Abbas said that the group’s 1964 charter reflects the will of the Palestinian people. That charter calls for the destruction of Israel. It was written three years before Israel took control of Judea, Samaria and northern, southern and eastern Jerusalem.

But wait, there’s more. The Palestinian leadership attacked Kerry personally and his plan as an attempt to bribe them. They promised that while they will happily take the money, $4b. measly dollars won’t convince them to moderate one iota. They still demand that Israel release all Palestinian terrorists from its jails, agree to its demographic destruction through the so-called “right of return,” or unfettered immigration of millions of foreign Arabs to Israel, and the surrender of all of Judea, Samaria and northern, southern and eastern Jerusalem to the PLO as a precondition to beginning negotiations.

Israeli leaders for the most part have reacted to Kerry’s constant harping by rolling their eyes. He seems like a complete lunatic. Obviously he will fail and the best thing we can do is smile and nod, like you do when you are dealing with a crazy person.

With the Benghazi scandal hounding him, the Syrian civil war and, for the past week, the anti-government protests in Turkey all exposing his incompetence on a daily basis, these Israeli leaders take heart, no doubt in the belief that Obama’s freedom to attack us has vastly diminished.
Although this interpretation of events is attractive, and on its face seems reasonable, it is wrong.
And it would be a devastating mistake for Israeli leaders to believe it.
Since he entered office, Obama has responded to every defeat by doubling down and radicalizing.

And now, as his Middle East strategy of appeasing Islamists lies in the ruins of the US Consulate in Benghazi and in the cemeteries interning the Syrians murdered in sarin gas attacks as Obama shrugged his shoulders, Obama is again doubling down. On Wednesday he announced that he is elevating the two architects of his policy to senior leadership roles in his administration.

Obama’s appointments of UN Ambassador Susan Rice to serve as his national security adviser, and of former National Security Council member Samantha Power to serve as ambassador to the UN, are a finger in the eye to his critics.

Power is reportedly the author of Obama’s policy of apologizing to foreign countries for the actions of past administrations. Certainly she shares Obama’s hostility toward Israel. And she has been outspoken in expressing her negative opinions.

In a nutshell, Power’s vision for US foreign policy is a noxious brew of equal parts self-righteousness, ignorance and prejudice. And now she will be responsible for defending Israel (or not) at the most hostile international arena in the world, where Israel’s very right to exist is subject to assault on a daily basis.

Obama’s decision to appoint Rice and Power in the face of the mounting scandals surrounding his presidency generally and his foreign policy particularly is not the only reason Israeli leaders should not expect for his weakened political position to diminish Obama’s plan to put the screws on Israel in the coming years. There is also the disturbing pattern of the abuse of power that the scandals expose.

The one thing all the scandals share is a single-minded willingness to pursue radical goals to the bitter end. The IRS’s targeting of conservatives was an appalling abuse of executive power, unlike anything we have seen in recent history. The passage of Obamacare in the face massive public opposition was another means to the end of destroying his opponents.

The cover-up of the Benghazi attack was a bid to hide the failure of a policy in order to double down on it – despite its failure. The only reason you would want to double down on an already failed policy is if you are ideologically committed to a larger goal that the failed policy advances.

The similarities of the pattern of behavior in all of these actions, as well as the circumstantial evidence already unearthed, indicate strongly that despite the denials, Obama was in fact involved and may have directed the actions of all of his underlings in all of the scandals now unfolding.
What this means for Israel is we cannot be lured into complacency by Kerry’s buffoonery or Obama’s apparent political weakness. This is a man who is most dangerous when attacked. And this is a man who is absolutely committed to his ideological agenda. We had better be ready, because if we are not, we won’t know what has hit us.

[It's a sad state of affairs when the most pertinent and accurate news comes from outside the U.S.]

The Obama administration is invoking an obscure legal privilege to avoid judicial scrutiny of its secret collection of the communications of potentially millions of Americans.
Civil liberties lawyers trying to hold the administration to account through the courts for its surveillance of phone calls and emails of American citizens have been repeatedly stymied by the government's recourse to the "military and state secrets privilege". The precedent, rarely used but devastating in its legal impact, allows the government to claim that it cannot be submitted to judicial oversight because to do so it would have to compromise national security.

The government has cited the privilege in two active lawsuits being heard by a federal court in the northern district of California – Virginia v Barack Obama et al, and Carolyn Jewel v the National Security Agency. In both cases, the Obama administration has called for the cases to be dismissed on the grounds that the government's secret activities must remain secret.
The claim comes amid a billowing furore over US surveillance on the mass communications of Americans following disclosures by the Guardian of a massive NSA monitoring programme of Verizon phone records and internet communications.
The director of national intelligence, James Clapper, has written in court filings that "after careful and actual personal consideration of the matter, based upon my own knowledge and information obtained in the course of my official duties, I have determined that the disclosure of certain information would cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security of the United States. Thus, as to this information, I formally assert the state secrets privilege."

"The administration is saying that even if they are violating the constitution or committing a federal crime no court can stop them because it would compromise national security. That's a very dangerous argument," said Ilann Maazel, a lawyer with the New York-based Emery Celli firm who acts as lead counsel in the Shubert case.
"This has been legally frustrating and personally upsetting," Maazel added. "We have asked the government time after time what is the limit to the state secrets privilege, whether there's anything the government can't do and keep it secret, and every time the answer is: no."

In order to deliver on the Fundamental Transformation of America, President Barack Obama must first smash to smithereens the image of America as World Superpower. That’s why he’s been spending so much of his time gutting the military.

Parachuted into power by archenemies of the USA, Obama holds a special disdain for American military forces, going so far as to replace them with his own private one.  The bodies of approximately 1,541 soldiers were returned home under flag-draped coffins on Obama’s watch.  That’s in part because Obama has continued to send American troops into theaters of war booby-trapped by lax rules of engagement where the only tragic outcome is their own maiming and death.

By gutting the military, Obama achieves his coveted, single-minded goal of shredding America’s long standing image as World Superpower.

While the days of America the World Superpower are fast fading, Obama works on assassinating America’s one-time hold as World Economic Superpower.

With the revelation that the Utah Data Center, which celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week to be up and running in full come September, the world can now see the image of the new America under Obama in the rear view mirror.

With ‘Tokyo Rose Obama’ in the driver’s seat and no hurdles ahead for at least another three years, America is on the fast-track to becoming America, ‘World Super Power of Covert Spy Operations’—that for the first time totally destroys global civilian privacy.

The Utah Data Center has already shared its spy booty with GCHQ,  its British counterpart via the U.S. Prism Program.
In other words, Obama’s America isn’t just spying on its own, but the unsuspecting peoples of the world.
Looking back over Obama’s debut from a Greek columned podium with people fainting before him, we can now see more clearly the trajectory of what was coming.
From the get-go, omnipresent Obama has made it all but impossible to escape his image on the television screen or the God-like sound of his voice on every radio sound

In all of the deliberate confusion thrown our way, Obama’s Marxist mission is as simple as it is evil: If you control the news, you control the masses.
With civilian privacy gone forever almost overnight, how many citizens will leave the Internet?
Under government cyberattack, how many news sites will be forced off line never to return?

Information is power and how long before those government-identified as Obama enemies will begin to be ‘disappeared’.  Electronic files will point out whose death of a heart attack would not be suspected as foul;  who is vulnerable and open to bribe or blackmail due to dire financial straits; who is red button material as an active dissident of note?

While the greatest compromise of a global civilian population in all time is playing out, Obama has already sold off America’s sovereignty to the corrupt United Nations, and even as this is being written is about to impose amnesty to more than 11 million illegals on American soil.

When Obama repeatedly hinted that everyone hated America, he was lying. All the while, he was working on an airtight plan to ensure that long before his presidency ends,  it is a guarantee the outside world will hate America.
Welcome to America’s new Obama-created image, ‘America, the SuperPower of the Covert Spy World’.

The House Armed Services Committee is considering a religious liberty amendment  to the National Defense Authorization Act Wednesday over fears the military is punishing soldiers for expressing their religious faith.

“The men and women who put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms should not have their own religious freedom jeopardized during their military service,” said Rep. John Fleming (R-LA), who authored the amendment.

Fleming told Fox News it appears that in some cases members of the U.S. military have been punished because of their religious faith.
“There have been reports,” he said. “We don’t know how widespread it is.”
Among the incidents:
  • A service member received a “severe and possibly career-ending reprimand” for expressing his faith’s religious position about homosexuality in a personal religious blog.
  • An enlisted service member received a career-ending punishment for sending personal invitations to his promotion party which mentioned that he would be providing Chick-fil-A sandwiches due to his respect for the Defense of Marriage Act.
  • A senior military official at Fort Campbell sent out a lengthy email officially instructing officers to recognize “the religious right in America” as a “domestic hate group” akin to the KKK and Neo-Nazis because of its opposition to homosexual behavior.
  • An Air Force officer was told to remove a Bible from his desk because it might offend someone. The officer had kept the Bible on the desk for 18 years;
  • A chaplain was relieved of his command over a military chapel because, consistent with DOMA’s definition of marriage, he could not allow same-sex weddings to take place in the chapel.
  • An enlisted service member was threatened and denied promotion by a senior NCO for expressing – during a personal conversation – his religious belief in support of traditional marriage.
  • Last month Rear Admiral William Lee told a National Day of Prayer audience that religious liberty was being threatened by Pentagon lawyers and service members are being told to hide their faith in Christ.“Leaders like myself are feeling the constraints of rules and regulations and guidance issued by lawyers that put us in a tighter and tighter box regarding our constitutional right to express our religious faith,” he said.

And there have been other incidents involving attacks on religious liberty:
Among the incidents:
  • A War Games scenario at Fort Leavenworth that identified Christian groups and Evangelical groups as being potential threats;
  • A 2009 Dept. of Homeland Security memorandum that identified future threats to national security coming from Evangelicals and pro-life groups;
  • A West Point study released by the U.S. Military Academy’s Combating Terrorism Center that linked pro-lifers to terrorism;
  • Evangelical leader Franklin Graham was uninvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer service because of his comments about Islam;
  • Christian prayers were banned at the funeral services for veterans at Houston’s National Cemetery;
  • Bibles were banned at Walter Reed Army Medical Center – a decision that was later rescinded;
  • Christian crosses and a steeple were removed from a chapel in Afghanistan because the military said the icons disrespected other religions;
  • Catholic chaplains were told not to read a letter to parishioners from their archbishop related to Obamcare mandates. The Secretary of the Army feared the letter could be viewed as a call for civil disobedience.
Fleming said some chaplains are fearful of losing their jobs.

“They are afraid to do anything that could lead to the end of their careers,” he said. “They want to be able to do their duties as chaplains – without fearing that someone will come along and reprimand them.”

This video clip posted above is possibly the most succinct review of what is happening in America and the ramifications of such

You don't say...

The federal government’s “totalitarian”-like surveillance of American citizens has been going on for more than a decade — you’re just now hearing about it, NSA whistleblower William Binney told Glenn Beck on his radio program Friday.
Binney, who was with the NSA for almost four decades, said it was “unfortunate” that he had been proven 100 percent correct on the spy agency’s surveillance capability. He has been blowing the whistle for some time, however, his warnings had been dubbed “conspiracy theories” by some.

Binney said the feds’ spying program began in mid-to-late October 2001. It started by pulling in phone records of various U.S. citizens across the country. He estimates the NSA is collecting data on 3 billion phone calls every single day.
And when the Obama administration says it is only collecting bare data, not the content of your phone calls or emails for example, that’s an “outright lie,” according to Binney.
“Their statement about, ‘we don’t have content’ is an outright lie,” he explained, adding that emails, videos and other type of content are also covered under NSA and FBI’s secret “PRISM” program.

To those who argue they don’t mind the government compiling all their data because they aren’t doing anything wrong, Binney reminded Beck’s audience that total surveillance is how “totalitarian states” have started throughout history. But no country has ever had the massive amount of surveillance capability that the U.S. is currently implementing.

“Even the ACLU is shocked” by the Obama administration’s secret grab of phone records of millions of Americans, says talk-radio host Michael Savage.

He noted on his nationally syndicated show Friday night that while Obama has characterized the government’s access to the data as a “modest encroachment” on privacy, an ACLU senior policy analyst called it a “gross privacy invasion.”

Recalling the warnings in his “Beware the Government-Media Complex” speech to the Commonwealth Club of California in 2000, Savage told his listeners the NSA’s snooping is “the biggest scandal of your entire life.”

The London Guardian released a secret order Wednesday from the FISA Court revealing that the U.S. government has been using Section 215 of the Patriot Act to track the calls of every Verizon Business Network Services customer.

In response, the ACLU issued a press release Thursday calling on Congress to investigate.
“The secrecy surrounding the government’s extraordinary surveillance powers has stymied our system of checks and balances,” said Laura Murphy, director of the ACLU’s Washington Legislative Office.
