West Bank On High Alert: Netanyahu Sends Message To PA To Enforce Calm

Netanyahu Sends Message To PA

Security forces were on high alert in the West Bank and east Jerusalem on Sunday morning amid concerns that the death of Palestinian prisoner Arafat Jaradat in Megiddo Prison on Saturday would set off violent Palestinian demonstrations.
The Palestinian Authority on Saturday strongly condemned Jaradat's death from an apparent heart attack and called for a UN investigation into the case.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sent a message to the Palestinian Authority to calm tensions in the West Bank on Sunday as Palestinians rioted and threw stones at security forces near Hebron.
Senior officials in Jerusalem said that Netanyahu made the request to the PA leadership through his peace talks liaison Yitzhak Molcho.

An IDF soldier was injured from stones thrown by Palestinians close to Beit Hadassah in Hebron.
The IDF employed riot dispersal methods in attempts to contain the rioters.
Jaradat's death came amid heightened tensions as a group of security prisoners in Israeli jails engage in an ongoing hunger strike. Even before Jaradat’s death, Palestinians rioted and attacked security personnel in several places in the West Bank and in east Jerusalem on Friday.
The IDF is investigating the possibility that Israeli civilians shot two Palestinians from Kusra, near Nablus, during clashes with settlers and the IDF on Saturday.

Aron Katsof, a spokesman for the Esh Kodesh outpost, said that Palestinians attacked his small community around noon by throwing stones and that he and others from the outpost and nearby settlements went out to defend their homes. He denied that anyone had shot at the Palestinians.

Three thousand Palestinian security prisoners in Israeli jails went on a hunger strike Sunday to protest the death of Arafat Shalish Shahin Jaradat in Megiddo Prison the day before, amid a wave of clashes in the West Bank that has been stoking Israeli concerns of a third Palestinian intifada, or uprising.
Palestinian officials on Sunday morning warned that another popular uprising was indeed unfolding, but asserted that protesters would stick to the path of nonviolence.
“The death of the prisoner is the culmination of an already-tense situation,” Kadoura Fares, a former PA minister and the head of the Palestinian prisoner’s club, told Maariv. “All of the incidents reveal a clear trend – we’re facing an intifada. The hunger-striking prisoners and the tense demonstrations, the violent clashes during which Palestinian civilians are killed, and the frozen peace process – all indicate that we’re sitting on a barrel of dynamite.”
“It may very well be that Jaradat’s death will turn out to have been the match that lit it,” he added.
Jaradat, 30, died of an apparent heart attack Saturday afternoon, according to Prison Services spokeswoman Sivan Weizman.
Following the announcement of Jaradat’s death, prisoners briefly rioted in the Ofer Prison in the West Bank. In Hebron, Palestinian protesters clashed with security forces, who dispersed them using teargas. One soldier and two Palestinians were lightly injured.

In what appears to be a concession to the alliance struck between surging political powerhouses Yesh Atid and Jewish Home, Likud officials proposed to hold coalition talks with representatives of both parties at once.
“We told the Jewish Home people that if they are indeed in a close alliance with Yesh Atid, we should sit together in coalition talks too,” a senior Likud official told Maariv. “It’s a waste of time to meet separately with representatives of both the parties. If there is a pact in place and a joint veto on the inclusion of ultra-Orthodox parties in the government, we might as well all meet together.”
Talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud-Beytenu and his former aide Naftali Bennett’s Jewish Home were scheduled to resume on Sunday, after representatives met on Friday. The negotiations were said to be held “in a good atmosphere” and dealt with aspects of the coalition’s guiding principles.
Representatives of Bennett’s party were reported to have discussed but not demanded the possible revocation of Netanyahu’s agreement with Hatnua chief Tzipi Livni, whereby Livni joins a Likud-led coalition in exchange for the Justice Ministry portfolio and the task of heading peace talks with the Palestinians. Bennett has been an outspoken critic of such negotiations, and his party represents a cross-section of voters who are largely opposed to a two-state solution along pre-1967 lines.
The differences between the two potential coalition partners were sharpened Saturday, when Livni spoke harshly against government plans to build a new settlement in the contested area known as E1.
“We don’t have to make provocations that just poke out the other side’s eye and stir up the world against us,” she said.

Friday’s Likud-Jewish Home coalition talks ended without any specific signs of progress, and the Likud-Beytenu team then met with Shas’s leadership triumvirate of Aryeh Deri, Ariel Atias, and Eli Yishai. Netanyahu’s key challenge is to find a formula for expanding the number of ultra-Orthodox young men entering military service; Jewish Home and Yesh Atid want almost all Haredi men to serve, while Shas and United Torah Judaism want wide-scale exemptions for full-time Torah study.

Three weeks after Shimon Peres charged Netanyahu with forming a coalition, it is this issue that has made the task so complex, and is gradually fueling speculation that Netanyahu may not be able to build a Knesset majority, though his aides remain confident he will do so.

According to a source within Shas, Friday’s meeting ended without progress and there are still significant gaps between the two sides regarding ultra-Orthodox service.
The Jewish Home party has made it clear that an alliance formed with Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid party, according to which both parties would either join the government together or join the opposition, remains firm. Jewish Home representatives on Friday also said they backed Yesh Atid’s demand that ultra-Orthodox schools teach the full “core curriculum” of subjects, including English and Mathematics, as a condition for state funding.
“The pact with Lapid is iron-clad,” party sources said. “We would rather have new elections than join the government without him.”

Thanks for the Bible verse explaining who Ephraim is.For those of us who don't know the modern names, it is much appreciated so we can follow along in our Bibles and watch God's word come true.

And yes, that is a heart. It is rays of sun coming down from the clouds and reflecting on the ocean in the shape of a heart. :)

  6. I don't know what to think. One minute, I feel as though I will live to see the rapture, because it feels like the events that are coming together prophetically would lead one to believe the fig tree is ripe. Other times is feels so far away. I have combat stress, PTSD, and life really sucks right now. The evil is everywhere....I can deal with my demons, its other peoples that stress me out. This has really been a tough week. I m just ready to go home. Sometimes I even question my own beliefs. I'm really trying to stay the course. Its hard. I sleep maybe 3 hours a night (maybe). I'm just spiritually and emotionally worn out. Somethings got to give. It reminds me of a tour one night. We had been encountering heavy fighting. We took some casualties, and I kept thinking, as it began to get dark, its gotta get better, it couldn't possibly get any worse. Then we got hit twice as hard that night. I feel that all over again. It can't get much worse. Or is the worst coming? Sorry guys, I'm just struggling. I'll be OK.........

  7. Hi David,
Thank you for your service!!! From one combat vet to another, lifting you up for many things, am sure you know what.

ONe foot in front of the other, one hour, one day at a time. Just keep going, keep the faith, and keep Praying.

You will either go up with us in the big "Poof" or you will suddenly find yourself in the sunshine, as you've walked yourself out of the end of that tunnel. You will get there....

    Praying, Brother.

  8. Sister KR,
Ephraim - West Bank. Definition from Webster:
    Definition of EPHRAIM
1 or Mount Ephraim hilly region of ancient Palestine; now in West Bank

Here are some maps of ancient Israel.
This one is interactive. Click on the map to zoom in or out.

Fortress is the same a strong hold. The so called make-believe "palestinians" ie squatters on Israel’s land, will not remain. God will see to that. Gaza too is going down in Judgment, as He tells us in Ezekiel Chapter 25.

As for Brother Hal, he literally led me to Jesus, and I then attended his church. I only say this because of my great respect and love for him. :) I do though have to respectfully disagree with him placing the Ezekiel 38 war/invasion at the mid-Trib. He is in error in that teaching. Again, I say this out of great love and respect for our Brother Hal...

  10. Thanks Mrs. C.
I think it seems ( and I may be entirely wrong) but it is difficult with prophetic things to know if the words/names are what is understood by the writer at the time of the writing or what it will mean when the time comes for fulfillment. This leads me to wonder why the lord would use the word Ephraim when Judah will be certainly involved with the temple mount etc.. or not the tribal lands on the east side of the river. My question was more on modern times of where these lines for 2 state solution are and if Ephraim or that area which now includes Tel Aviv will be overcome. For a long time I thought the Palestinians would not win in this but now I wonder.. As for hal , tonight he placed it not at mid trib but soon after the peace pact p/probably with the red horse.(my guess at what he means).
David, praying for you tonight. Paul who gave us so much in anticipating the Rapture and our being alert also gave us the strong word to think on what is noble pure trustworthy.. lovely.honorable. We become what we think about all the time. God did not mean for us to study despairing things in the name of being watchmen. He told us to watch for Him and abide. The peace in this world is fragile but His peace is stronger and everlsting. If God is for us, who can be against us? He cares for you and so do we.

  11. David, I will keep you in my prayers today as I work. Please read your Bible every spare minute you have. Read all of God's promises and just cling to them.
Here is one to get you started..
Psalm 56, the theme is,"Trusting in God's care in the midst of fear. When all seems dark, one truth still shines bright. When God is for us, those against us will never succeed."
Verse 3:"But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you."
We all love you brother with the love of Jesus. Your sister in Christ, mary

  12. Sister KR,
I will try to help you understand, first I would always advise that the Holy Spirit be invited and welcomed into studying His Word. :)

With Isaiah 17, first, we know that has not been fulfilled. Gods Primary focus is the destruction of Damascus with stating His Judgment against them. God knew that in these Last Days, Damascus would still be called Damascus so there is no question with whom He is speaking about. Then we move to Verse 2. Aroer, is a historical name for what now is an area in Jordan.
Again, since we know without question, that the Isaiah 17 war has not occurred yet, it is obvious God is using a name/area that we can identify in these Last Days. On to Verse 3. God tells us that the Fortresses of Ephraim will fall, continuing saying in this Verse, that Damascus and the “remnant” Syria will be captive by Israel. Ephraim is now occupied by the so called “palestinians” they have their heels dug into this area, present day is called the West Bank. This strong hold, God tells us, will cease, it is coming down. Who occupies in these Last Days, the areas Isaiah speak of? Enemies of Israel, and God is going to take them down.
These are location areas, that were named by Isaiah who would know where they are. God uses these for also the future, which is now, the Last Days, so we too would know. These are not references to purposes of the Tribes, but locations of areas. To put it simply, the 12 Tribes fought each other, then God had them divided into Kingdoms, North and South. The Tribes still did not behave, were sinful in His Sight, God basically got fed up, and they were dispersed from the land, His Land.
In Ezekiel 37, Gods tells us that He had a renewed Covenant with His People. He restored them to His Land, and there would no longer be any Tribes, nor Kingdoms. They would all be as one, His People united as one. This Miracle of God, happened in 1948.
There are no longer any Tribes/Kingdoms, just the Israeli People, His People. So when we read of a future event, in this case, the fulfillment of the Isaiah 17 war, we know that the names of the locations of Aroer, and Ephraim are historical references of areas, for us to know now, in the present Last Days. Damascus, Aroer, Ephraim are going down…and Israel, Gods Land, will never be divided…He makes this very clear He will not tolerate that what so ever. These enemies of Israel, may have a piece of land here and there, but it wont last for long, especially in these Last Days.
In Ezekiel 37, God tells His People, He will never divide HIS LAND again. Never again. Just look at the leaders in Israel, that have given land away, that God made clear was NOT to be done. Sharon is in a perpetual comma, and Olmert went down in shame along with cancer. We know from Zechariah 12:3, that those that try to divide Jerusalem, will experience the wrath of God! Whew…wouldn’t want to be in their shoes…

    Zechariah 12:3
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

  13. Dear Mrs. C,
Crystal clear. Thank you so much.
I have as my practice to always ask the Holy Spirit to COme and teach me when I study or teach.
The prophetic things are difficult to retain for me and I have found the same to be true for others. We keep seeing new things. Perhaps that is the nature of this way of writing: revelation is ACTIVE as events unfold.
I have not recoverd from the flu and was hospitalized last week (just er for 8hrs) for inner ear virus and a million tests to be sure it wasn't stroke etc. I am still woozy but PRayING to be healed and able to study and teach again this week. I have to hold each thought with two hands right now. Many thanks for the tutorial.
