Not only is this just the beginning of things to come, but we're seeing some interesting developments springing from this most recent fighting and none of it looks good for Israel. Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood has gained enormous clout as a result, and Morsi is being called a "New Pharaoh". Additionally, the fighting has sparked a renewed interest in the West Bank for possible violence - all while Hamas claims "victory". It is also noteworthy that the PA has diminished through this, while the far more radical Hamas seems to have complete control in Gaza.
Somehow, through all of this, we know that it fits perfectly within God's overall plan.
Nevertheless, celebratory rallies in Gaza called for national unity and an end to the political divide which has pitted Fatah against Hamas since 2006.
Any report of Hamas overtures towards Abbas, true or not, would not have been credible just eight days ago. The perceived victory of Gaza’s armed resistance over Israel has given fighting spirit to many Palestinians, new Israeli data shows.
The IDF reported a steep rise in violent activities in the West Bank during the week of fighting in Gaza. Rocks and Molotov cocktails were thrown at civilian cars and a bus was shot at from a passing car near Gush Etzion junction, south of Jerusalem. In Jerusalem’s Old City, a young woman stabbed a soldier on Thursday.
The Palestinian street is quickly slipping into combat mode, inspired by the fighting words emanating from Gaza. Jibril Rajoub, a former Palestinian security chief who speaks fluent Hebrew, appealed to Israel on Channel 2 News Thursday to stop that process by re-engaging the PA, which has favored negotiations over violence.
Israel decided to refrain from a ground invasion of Gaza after it was warned that such a move could spell the end of the peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan, Channel 2 reported Thursday.
According to the report, Mossad Head Tamir Pardo, who went to Cairo as Israel's representative in the contacts that preceded the ceasefire, was told in messages from Cairo and from Washington that the peaceful relations between Israel, Jordan and Egypt were at risk.
In addition, Channel 2 reported that the Americans asked Egypt's president Mohammed Morsi to talk directly with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu about the ceasefire – but Morsi refused pointedly.
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told Channel 1 that some of the considerations behind the unpopular decision to agree to a ceasefire could not be made public. He said, however, that if the government's motivation had been political, it would have made the opposite decision.
And to think that we were told by the MSM that the 'Arab Spring' was a democracy movement.
Critics of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi branded him a “new pharaoh” on Thursday, after he assumed sweeping powers, AFPreported.
The move is a blow to the pro-democracy movement that toppled former president Hosni Mubarak, himself derided by many as a pharaoh, and raises concerns that Islamists will be further ensconced in power, the report noted.
"The president can issue any decision or measure to protect the revolution," according to a decree read out on television by presidential spokesman Yasser Ali.
"The constitutional declarations, decisions and laws issued by the president are final and not subject to appeal," he added.
Former UN atomic energy agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei lashed out at the declaration, which would effectively put the president above judicial oversight.
"Morsi today usurped all state powers and appointed himself Egypt's new pharaoh. A major blow to the revolution that could have dire consequences," ElBaradei wrote on his Twitter account.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Thursday that what he terms the "tail" of rocket fire by the terror groups after the ceasefire went into force was relatively short. "I hope that after the experience Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza have undergone, they do not have the appetite to continue attacking."
"Whenever the rounds of fighting get more frequent, as happened now, there is no choice but to mount anoperation," he explained to IDF Radio. "The idea is to postpone the next round as much as possible by hitting the other side hard."
Defending the decision to stop the operation, he said: "The leadership has the appropriate tools. It is still not time to enter Gaza in a very wide operation and conquer it."
To the extent that it is possible to generalize about the national mood, it seems there might be somewhat more optimism in the center of the country. In areas in and around Tel Aviv, residents experienced air-raid sirens for the first time over the last week and have not gone through the south’s dispiriting cycle of rocket fire-military operation-ceasefire-rocket fire over the past decade.
Ofakim residents saw Iron Dome interceptions. But they know the system did not stop all incoming rockets or prevent Gaza’s militant groups from paralyzing their lives and terrorizing them and their children for eight days, as they have on and off for years.
“We shouldn’t have stopped. It was a total failure,” said Avraham Yitzhak, 55, a security guard. “They won.”
The "new pharaoh"? Amazing...God addresses "Pharaoh"...what is coming to Egypt is not pretty...God had Ezekiel devote 4 Chapters,(Ezekiel 29-32), to His Judgement to come for them...
ReplyDeleteEzekiel 29:1-6
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
3 Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
4 But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.
5 And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.
6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
Wow, O Lord, fulfill this word in our day! Let this be true! Protect us, O Lord, from Pharoah! For our kings have made an agreement with death!
DeleteIn the name of Yeshua!
Very timely - thanks for those scriptures. Wow.
ReplyDeleteNetanyahu ALWAYS does this. he starts big, comes very close to victory then cowars at the very last second. he has just cowarded to the most slimy, Israel hating, wicked "president" ever at the expense of God's chosen people. he should have obliterated hamas and taken Gaza back. by agreeing to a "truce" he paved the way for a far more deadly war in the future
ReplyDeleteI agree Hart. I've heard a lot of various reasons and scenarios etc., but ultimately Bibi caves. I believe he was under intense pressure by the US, but its still his call. It seems that the IDF isn't very pleased either as they were ready to go. Very perplexing and frustrating - I share the frustration of the Israelis who have to live under the constant barrage of missile fire, and they know its just a matter of time before it happens again
ReplyDeleteStill - having said that, its all part of God's will.
Additionally, perhaps there is something to this idea that He's preparing for the Iranian conflict and wants to take out their launching capabilities, so he isn't fighting on 3 fronts (Gaza, Hezbollah/S. Lebanon and Iran)....
We'll see.
Well guys, I am afraid its very possible Bibi's capitulation to Clinton and Morsi has cost him the election. The nation is furious, and saying now we have handed our ability to deal with Hamas to Egypt. Hamas will now re-arm and begin firing again, but we will not be able to deal with it personally, the responsibility is now in Egyptian hands. Will Morsi act? Or will he take advantage of this new responsibility? Either way, Bibi has lost HUGE support of the nation and even the army is demoralized. They say he is no better than Olmert, and our country is actually governed by Obama. Bad days ahead......
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry jd, I'm afraid you're right. i wonder if Netanyahu now realizes his mistake.
DeleteFirst, Brother Hart, have have to vehemently disagree with your characterization of Bibi. He is NOT a coward, nor does he "cower" in ANY WAY! He is a brilliant, honorable and brave man! He is without question a Zealot for Israel and her people.
ReplyDeleteAs has happened many times, there is without question, more going on here than the public knows. It is blatantly obvious that the TRUE coward, this nations coward-in-chief aka the wanna be ac, has his evil hand in this. Lets step back a second.
Israel absolutely pounded Hamas. Then who shows up, Clinton (aka Cruella De Vil). Yes, the mafia leader-in-chief, sends his henchmen (no mistake in referring to HC as a man). Then, oh, suddenly overnight, there is a truce, brokered through EGYPT!? Who we just happen to pay millions upon millions of dollars to. But this, this headline that was on JP yesterday night and has now disappeared overnight, is very telling!Although now they have changed the original headline, to this...
"After Gaza, focus turns to Palestinian bid at UN"
"Post" learns that Washington urging Israel not to build in E-1 area between J'lem, Ma'aleh Adumim in response to PA statehood bid."

Sound FAMILIAR? o'vomit is back to the same tactics! ONE day latter, the U.S. is telling Israel they cant build! Something is smelling VERY putrid for sure!
Whats going on? Again, we have NO IDEA what truly is happening here. What we do know, is that Israel POUNDED Hamas, AND took out their military leaders right down the line! Sounds like prep work to me, for something bigger to come! Bibi knows and has vowed for years, that Iran is the “head of the snake” that needs to be taken out! Bibi also knows, that they have to soften the target, weaken Hamas, because when Israel takes on Iran, they will face attacks from all sides. Israel has to diminish Hamas, let them use up their weapons, before they do this. Also, notice part of the agreement, is that the “blockade” remains in place. Hamas cant re-supply.
Then we have the Israeli troop build up to go into Gaza. In the ME, its all about showing power, they have to, to survive! That is the ONLY mentality that the sons of Ishmael understands! But also a message to the U.S., we are going in no matter what you want us to do, and the troop build up shows this. It wasn’t until the last minute, that the U.S. showed up to wheel and deal, playing, I believe, right into Bibis hands. There is no way that Bibi didn’t know or calculate ahead of time, what the weak, pathetic o’vomit admin would do. No matter the public face that’s put on, you KNOW after the treatment they have given Bibi, and Israel, that Bibi doesn’t trust them, and very likely despises them.
So what is it that caused Bibi to stop? Personally, I believe he already calculated all of this, knowing full well that the obummer would step in. I believe he played him like a fool! I believe that the obummer has been black-mailing Bibi for quit sometime, and that Bibi is just waiting, and taking ALL of the insults, humility, for the greater good and protection of his country. Remember the games o’vomitt played with Israel with the “joint military exercises” ? I believe that they are doing the same with the weapons supplies, ie heavy munitions Israel would use on their primary goal to destroy Iran. O’vomit has been constraining these supplies to Israel, the same way they played with the on-again off-again military exercises. Bibi is waiting, playing the game, until Israel has what they need to accomplish the mission. FOOLISHLY, the o’vomit admin, within A DAY, thinks they can go back to pressuring Israel on the settlement – don’t build nonsense. Just wait…Bibi knows these enemies FAR better than the utopian idiots that attempt to run this country.
ReplyDeleteBibi knows their hatred towards Israel, and they will not be able to keep any kind of truce. He also knows the treachery of o’vomit. He is just waiting, waiting for the preparations to be completed to go after Iran…decimating Hamas’s military leaders and their military supplies-locations, was just the first step to something much bigger to come! Most importantly, Gods Word says EXACTLY this…something very, very horrendous is coming…oh Israel, you Blessed nation and people of God...”desolation” is coming…
I sure hope you are right. One thing is certain - this whole episode is just beginning.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the above comment by Mrs C. Bibi is lots of things, but dumb or coward are not in the description. Let us not forget, Bibi is a former elite commando and his brother was the commander and only one killed in raid on Entebe (sp).
ReplyDeleteNo, I agree that he played a hand of strength by starting this at the time of his choosing, enticed the right players by a complete show of strength at the border and reserve "call up", flushed BO-n-Team out on several issues, and got concessions we will likely never hear about. Enhanced munitions supply being one of them.
1. The Hamas initiation of hostilities was entirely predictable based on BO's reelection.
2. Reaction of Hamas to the targeted killing of major military leaders was predictable.
3. Timing of when and how to take out the initial Hamas military leader was calculated & could have been done earlier or later but the timing was carefully selected and executed.
NO, I have to agree. My gut has said for a while that a card game was going, Bibi was calling the shots more than was evident, and BO and Hamas were being played, and Egypt may have been a wild card that played their hands a little better than expected.
We shall see.....
Id rather trust my life to Bibi, a man who worships YWH and studies his word then to a man who despises God and goes against his will intentionally. Trade ya?
ReplyDeleteI believe Bibi is picking up smooth stones to fit into his slingshot and when God says swing...Goliath is going down in one fell swoop!
Much as the Israelites didnt think David could do it....so Bibi will do the same.
My ideas? Out of this, God will flood egypt! Flatten Damascus, and weaken iran. I'm guesting ask within a few hours time period. And I think we are going to se it.
In the next week or two, im trying to get to NC to meet some of you . I wil try to make it a weekend and go to church.
Love you all.
He is coming soon.
Ya know Sister Ally, Israel has had this around for a while now...love the name of it :)
ReplyDelete"Israel’s new anti-missile system to be deployed in 2014"
"The “David’s Sling” system, named after the famous weapon in the biblical David and Goliath story, is part of a multi-layered defense against incoming rockets and missiles. Two of the elements are operational."
http://www.timesofisrael.com/israels-new-anti-missile-system-to-be-deployed-in-2014/
fwiw I have also read that as a result of this truce, Israel is going to get a lot more 'iron dome' systems. That could have also been part of the plan. We'll see
ReplyDeleteMr C and Caver, i certainly hope the 2 of you are right. Netanyahu is very unpopular right now in Israel....and early elections coming up. i know are hideous, pile of waste we call "president" was planning on payback for Netanyahu endorsing Romney, I'm wondering now if this is part of his plan to unseat him. if so then God help us. hopefully God's judgements will fall squarely on the two-headed (and twofaced) monster hillary and osama obama
ReplyDeleteBrother Hart,
ReplyDeleteBibi runs circles around the wanna-be-ac-in-in chief. To simplify, Israel knows that with the Gaza escalation, BO and his minions would eventually jump in (ie seeing the ground war about to happen) and be yelling "dont harm the Hamas freedom fighters".
Knowing this, Israel would first take full advantage of the opportunity to accomplish the goal of diminishing Hamas. One of the fronts they know they will have to fight. With Hamas's incessant and increasing attacks on Israel, that provided the opportunity for Israel. Israel has taken out the military leaders, their launch sights, munitions supplies, AND way of re-supplying, the tunnels.
Now with HC showing up, Bibi can then make a deal. Ok, he'll make a tentative, conditional "truce", and say something like "hey Hillary, we really need more munitions to resupply what we just used, you know, in case it happens again". When in fact, he has now damaged Hamas greatly, one of the fronts to come against Israel for an Iran attack, AND now been re-supplied to go after anyone else that attacks - especially when they go for Iran.
Its all preparation for whats to come, a much bigger picture. Bibi is always willing to be humiliated etc, if that what it takes to accomplish his larger goals involving the protection of Israel.
As for Iran, the clock is winding down, and Israel knows they have to act soon. It wouldnt surprise me if Israel already has their own "bunker busting bombs". Reverse engineering of one of the U.S. munitions, would accomplish that. Israel is extremely capable, and far exceeds other nations, in technology. They took the F-35's for example, and modified them with their own advanced electronics.
Another example. During the British occupation of Israel 1945-1948, they had outlawed the Jewish underground, Haganah, and there was severe restrictions of guns and ammunition for them to fight with against the Arabs.
With the ingenuity of the Israeli people, they built an underground manufacturing area, and made the ammunition themselves!Right under the noses of the British. I remember those that worked round the clock in this underground munitions factory, even went as far as rubbing dirt I believe it was, on there exposed skin, so they wouldnt look so pale! It was called "the Ayalon Institute" as a code name.
This is what the Israel People are about, when up against even supposed "allies" that are harming them. They will and do find a way. It is truly God Himself, that has Blessed His People so greatly in so many ways. As He said He would do from the beginning...
i am just trying to understand something here. If US troops are
ReplyDeletegoing to this area to KEEP THE PEACE
I would think that this would be
a beginning of a PEACE ERA, not
the end......
no wonder stocks are going way up.

Hi Mrs. C and Ally,
ReplyDeleteI think you could be right.
For example, would this reported U.S. pledge (assuming it to be true) to have U.S. troops in place in the Sinai w/in 48 hours to be block the resupply of Hamas rockets being smuggled into Gaza -- have been what tipped the scales for Netanyahu in his agreeing to this tentative truce?
http://debka.com/article/22557/Obama’s-pledge-of-US-troops-to-Sinai-next-week-won-Israel’s-nod-for-ceasefire
Although I think Israeli ground forces could've been effective in Gaza, such a campaign might still have been costly & problematic for Israel. Fighting in built up urban areas would expose Israeli armor to guerilla attacks (via tunnels into which Hamas could withdraw through to come out on Israeli units' flanks & rear to inflict considerable casualties as was done against to Israeli in the 2006 Lebanon operation). There could also be massive civilian casualties since Hamas would use civilians (and kids) as human shields.
Might it not be better for Israel to hit Hamas where it is weak (its supply & resupply points, as well as further "degrading" Hamas' leadership personnel), without allowing Hamas to utilize its strength (in bleeding Israel troops -- which might be better held in reserve for the events sure to come when Iran is finally hit -- & in blaming Israel for the civilian casualties)? With U.S. Special Forces in the Sinai to stem the smuggling, as well as Israel itself getting "re-loaded" with munitions (including more Iron Dome interceptors), might not this be the way to hurt Hamas more? (Just applying out loud Sun-Tze's "The Art of War" principle of hitting the enemy only where he is weak, & avoiding his strengths.)
If so, then maybe Netanyahu, a commando himself, did make a very effective move. I'm also wondering what intel Israel's intelligence & special forces may be obtaining during this lull (such as replacement Hamas leaders) -- for the time when Israel's time of "re-loading" is completed.
Anyway, I think you might be right about Netayahu.
God bless.
C.B.
