An Iranian military official threatened to “wipe” Israel “off the face of the earth” if the Jewish state attacks, a stark new threat coinciding with the start of a European Union oil embargo to put pressure on Iran’s nuclear program, Reuters reported.
Revolutionary Guards General Amir Ali Hajizadeh reportedly issued the warning as he announced new missile tests to take place in the coming week.
According to Reuters, Hajizadeh said the exercises targeting mock-ups of air bases in the region should be seen as a message “that the Islamic Republic of Iran is resolute in standing up to…bullying, and will respond to any possible evil decisively and strongly.”
“If they [Israel] take any action, they will hand us an excuse to wipe them off the face of the earth,” Hajizadeh said, according to state news agency IRNA.
The threat echoes an oft-repeated quote attributed to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Israel must be “wiped off the map.” Ahmadinejad was actually quoting the Ayatollah Khomeini when he said the “regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time” — also translated as “wiped off the map.”
Iran's official news agency has reported that the Revolutionary Guards will begin three days of war games, including drills with surface-to-surface missiles, in Iran's central desert on Monday..
The IRNA agency quoted General Ami Ali Hajizadeh, chief of the Revolutionary Guards' airspace unit, who said missiles would target bases modelled on those of foreign armies.
The announcement coincides with the start of a European Union oilembargo meant to pressure Iran over its nuclear programme. Iran denies western suspicions that it wants to build nuclear weapons.
A semiofficial Iranian news agency says Tehran plans to deploy submarines in the Caspian Sea.
The Saturday report by Fars quotes Adm. Abbas Zamini as saying Iran plans to deploy “light submarines” to the oil-rich sea that adjoins Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan
Relations between Iran and Azerbaijan have soured in the past year. Iran accuses Azerbaijan of harboring anti-Iranian terrorists linked to Israel’s Mossad spy agency. Azerbaijan in return says Iran supports Islamist dissidents. Both countries deny each other’s charges.
Earlier this month Iran said it has begun the “initial stages” of designing nuclear-powered submarines.
Iran has domestically built several small submarines over the past years. It has recently overhauled one of the three non-nuclear Russian Kilo-class submarines it bought in the 1990s.
Iran issued new threats to wipeIsrael "off the face of the earth" Sunday as a new EU sanctions against its oil sector came into full force.
Announcing three days of missile tests in the coming week, Revolutionary Guards General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said the exercises should be seen as a message "that the IslamicRepublic of Iran is resolute in standing up to ... bullying, and will respond to any possible evil decisively and strongly."Any attack on Iran by Israel would be answered resolutely: "If they take any action, they will hand us an excuse to wipe them off the face of the earth," said Hajizadeh, head of the Guards' airborne division, according to state news agency IRNA.
The missile tests will target mock-ups of air bases in the region, Hajizadeh said, adding that its ability to strike US bases in the Gulf protects Iran from US support for Israel.
"US bases in the region are within range of our missiles and weapons, and therefore they certainly will not cooperate with the regime (Israel)," he told IRNA.
The Iranians, Hezbullah and Hamas have been trying to provoke us to throw the first real punch. If and when we do, it will be so hard that they will not be able to hit back. But, it looks to me that everyone is dancing around the idea of all out Mideast war and are doing all they can to avoid it. I think everyone is afraid of what it will really mean to the whole world. Once started, there will be no turning back.
ReplyDeleteIsraeli Believer
Good morning everyone. While we all wait can't help but feel something we haven't expected is about to break wide open.
ReplyDeleteAnyone feeling the same thing? I can't put my finger on it but feels like it will come from somewhere off the radar. The Holy Spirit has me on the edge of my seat.
Yes to both James and our Israeli friend! Funny, Michael Janitch (dutchsinse) posted that question on facebook last night. All different types of people follow him, but what a place to witness if you are pretty chill about it and dont get to heavy. I'm pretty sure people are getting saved left and right because there is no denying the earthchanges lining up with scripture exactly!
ReplyDeleteNow for your laugh of the day: I am a cash only girl, always prepared etc. I have a new job that forces us to get paid on our card. I usually go to the bank on payday and empty it. Was too sick lt week to doit. So today I go strutting into target to buy a bra, have a couple hundred bucks on the card. Ha ha ha, the bank center headquarters for my card doesnt have electric in the d.c. Area so I couldnt purchase. I had a hundred in cash but I spent it to pay my phone etc earlier.
If God isn't reinforcing the shape if things to come. Wow. And miraculously I have electric and airconditioning when no one else does. Thank you Jesus!
Really if you persinally knew me, you would understand how fynny that $tory is! Im constantly harping on people to keep cash stashed in their home just for situations like this and then I get caught without it! Lol!
Anon in Israel,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your insight. We welcome any insight from Israel, the epicenter.
Agreed from here, everything appears the west and Israel are trying to get Iran to throw the first punch...so to speak and Iran and their side are trying just as hard to get Israel to sling the first mudball.
I really don't think they understand the punch Israel has the their willingness to cut loose with everything short of nuclear on the first swing. If they throw one chem/bio/nuc Israel's way, its gonna be Katie-Bar-Da-Door.
James, agree 100%. It will be something we never saw coming till the fur-ball is fully developed.
in a sense the Lebanon strike is kind of
ReplyDeletelike out of no where.
James - I agree - completely out of nowhere
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, bulls continue to be dominant. The dow was down VERY
ReplyDeleteLITTLE, with the Nasdaq UP almost
20 !!!!
Bulls refuse to give up.
and as LONG AS THAT continues,
the "end" will be delayed. There
is truth to what this reporter
here is saying from Israel. No
one really wants a war.
THAT according to EWI , is a SYMPTOM of bulls, when they dominate....like now.
BUT this number two up is getting
old, bulls have been in control
for nearly a month now.
Precious time is being wasted by them as always.
ANY DROP UNDER 12, 400....
