Rebels will intensify attacks inside the Syrian capital and target sensitive security installations in what they call an operation to "liberate Damascus", a rebel commander said on Tuesday, after three days of fierce fighting in the city.
Colonel Qassem Saadeddine, spokesman of the joint command of the Free Syrian Army inside Syria, told Reuters via Skype that many fighters arrived in Damascus from several provinces 10 days ago to take part in the operation and more would be sent soon.
"There is no going back. The Damascus battle has priority for us. We have started the operation to liberate Damascus," Saadeddine said, adding the rebels had called their operation "Damascus volcano and Syrian earthquake"."This has been planned for some time now. We sent many groups and fighters to Damascus and its suburbs 10 days ago. We have sent at least 50 groups, each with around 50 fighters," Saadeddine said.
"We will hit security buildings. There is major coordination between all military councils regarding this. We will not stop, there is no return."
“The Syrian military is acting very brutally, which shows the regime is desperate. Its control of Damascus is getting weaker,” Major-General Aviv Kochavi told a parliamentary committee.
“Assad has moved many of his forces that were in the Golan Heights to the conflict areas," Kochavi said. “He's not afraid of Israel at this point, but primarily wants to bolster his forces around Damascus.”
Nawaf Fares, the first Syrian ambassador to defect since the uprising against Assad began, told the BBC on Monday that Assad will not hesitate to use chemical weapons against opposition forces.
Kadima left the national-unity coalition and its leader Shaul Mofaz resigned from thegovernment on Tuesday night after he and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu were unable to agree on a bill to replace the “TalLaw .”In a stormy meeting at theparty ’s Petah Tikva headquarters, the Kadima faction decided to leave by vote of 25 to three.Netanyahu’s associates said Mofaz made up his mind to leave long ago and even if the prime minister would have proposed drafting every yeshiva student at 18, Kadima would have said no.MK Danny Danon (Likud) said, “Kadima is a political corpse that will soon disappear from the pages of history.
The trendy, values-lacking party harms the citizens of
Israel once again, in an attempt to survive in the political arena.”“Goodbye Kadima, and I hope not to see you later,” MK Ofir Akunis (Likud) quipped. “Too bad that instead of behaving responsibly to reach equality in the burden of service, Kadima preferred to create divisions in the public in order to try to survive among left-wing parties.”
Jews in the Beit Hanina neighborhood of Jerusalem, a hotbed of angry Arabs in one of the areas claimed by the Palestinian Authority, are attacked almost daily by stones and firebombs. Police are passive, according to Jewish residents.
Hezi Hovav told Arutz Sheva there have been dozens of Arab attacks, and he has filed complaints without any results.
Wv-ready? Many prayers have been laid at the feet of Abba Father for you!
ReplyDeleteIf anybody has a few extra min. They can pray for me,i would be very appreciative. I have a wicked case of MRSA I picked uo in the e.r. A few weeks ago and its very painful. Thank you so much. Its around my eye and not such a good situation.
WV-think how much prophecy might get fullfilled just while you are in surgery?
Post what time your surgery is so I can stop whstever I am doing and send big daddy a reminder note;)
Ally - MRSA????? Really?
ReplyDeleteWhat r they doing for you as far as antibiotics?
Praying, Ally . . .stay on top of it. MRSA is extremely dangerous, but God's healing hands can do anything
ReplyDeleteThings are really heating up in and around Damascus. I have a hard time imagining Israel would go in while it's in the Civil War stage . . .but wouldn't be surprised to see Assad attempt to refocus rebel attention on Israel by attacking.
Ally, thats terrible! I will be praying for your healing and relief from the pain.
ReplyDeletePraying for Wv throughout the day today and will send up prayers for Ally.
ReplyDeleteLove to you all
Its all just black mail as usual. Livne did it too. I am in complete agreement with MK Dani Dagon of Likud that Kadima is a corpse trying to stay alive in the political arena. Mofaz planned this long ago. He is using the usual Kadima black mail ploy because indeed they have no values. It is a party that needs to disolve. Since Sharon's stroke, the party has failed to grow. My prayer now is Bibi can fill their place soon and be the stronger for their leaving.
ReplyDeleteMay God heal you swiftly Ally.
Israeli
Ally,
ReplyDeleteI am lifting you up to our great God to heal you completely. This past year I have been on a journey dealing with breast cancer. God has held me so sweetly and closely in His hand. It has been a time of peace for me, which is amazing for someone who defaults easily to fear. I ended up getting MRSA from the lumpectomy. They were on their third round of antibiotics when they were going to hospitalize me, as it was spreading and not responding, but God instead healed me in one night. He is mighty and able to save! All praise to our great God! Listen to His calling. I'm praying with the many for your healing (2 Corin. 1:8-11) and God's presence (Is 41:10). Blessings, sister!
WV - I will continue to lift you up to our great God also, especially today. For His hand to protect and heal your heart and body; for peace for your wife during this time; for your daughter and grandson to know Him. Blessings!
Israeli - praying for Bibi to have wisdom from God and for him to trust God and God alone. Praying for the citizens of Israel to call out to their great God and to know that He is their mighty Shepherd (who cares, protects, guides, nourishes, heals them). Blessings!
Maranatha! Our Redemer is near!
Hading to Greenville in a few minutes from a night stay with our friends in Burlington. Meet with the doctor at 11 am and surgery tomorrow AM. (thursday 19th) Thanks so much again for your prayers. God is good all the time!
ReplyDeletePraying for you Ally.
I was wondering, since the Jewish people do not believe in Christ as Messaih, Savior, does God hear their prayers? Since Jesus Christ is our mediator.Just wondering about that.
ReplyDeleteI pray for Israel, the Jewish people that their eyes will be opened soon to see Christ as their Messaih. That they will have peace, not only in their Land, but in their hearts and God will be with them.
Anon:
ReplyDeleteGod has never left the Jewish nation. Of course He hears their prayers. All people on earth will never be worthy of God hearing our prayers. He waits to answer some and some He answers right away because it's for His glory. While we are all disobedient in some way or another it is us who separates ourselves from God.
I have a differen opinion on whether God hears prayers of the Jews. So, if these are messianic Jews - who believ in Jesus, then of course, He hears their prayers.
ReplyDeleteThe only prayers God hears are those that are done in the name of Jesus. Jesus himself said that the Jews will not see Him until they nationally call for Him, which will be at the end of the 2nd half of the tribulation, called Great Tribulation. The faithful remnant will be protected by God in the desert mountains and will cry to Jesus.
God is faithful to His Word and that's the only reason that we saw Israel being formed in 1948. He will make His name glorified in Israel NOT because he hears their prayers, not at all. He will do it so they again see Him and call on the name of the One they crucified and rejected.
Maywood.
I think you hit the nail on the head Maywood. I agree.
ReplyDelete100% on terget Maywood. God WILL glorify His Name whatever man does or doesn't do.
ReplyDeleteIf OUR prayers are not heard by God if we have unrepented sin, then that's even more so for the unsaved.
:-|
God hears prayers of repentance . And I believe God hears prayers of despair and cries for mercy. To say they have to use His name when they do not know Him as Lord yet in order to be heard says that the Holy SPirit is only active after conversion. His job is to convict the world of sin and righteousness. If He is at work then He is listening. I do agree that prayers with promised fulfillment, through what Jesus has done, making God our Father,Prayers with faith in God's goodness and power, through Jesus are part of keeping in step with the SPirit and walking in His Spirit. The Love of God is past our understanding and His grace in the ways He leads us home are not limited , Praise HIM!This is what I believe.Blessings in Him, KR
ReplyDeletePsalm 66: 18If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]:
ReplyDeleteJohn 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
This doesn't mean God cannot audibly hear prayer, it means He will not actively 'hear', that is, respond, to that prayer if a person is out of fellowship with God the Father by not obeying His will. That’s what 1John1:9 is for. To quickly agree with God we are in sin and out of fellowship with Father, to be cleansed and forgiven so He can ‘hear’ our petitions.
That’s why it is so important not to encourage one another in a sin, or rebellion; we all need to get right with God or we will receive ever stronger discipline -in order to bring us to our knees in repentance, otherwise, eventually, the sin unto death will cut short a life span. Finally there is loss of rewards.
Licentiousness will not be tolerated; we are expected to obey the commands of Christ. “IF you love me, keep my commandments” John 14:15 “This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.2John 2:6
If our prayers are not being answered, then we need to ask God to search our hearts to see if there is any wicked way in us. Then repent pronto. So fellowship can be restored with Father by forgiveness and cleansing of sin.
Amen to that anon.
ReplyDeleteHi KR, I agree, God hears prayers of repentance. He finds pleasure in a contrite spirit. Blessed are the meek for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. He is not pleased with sacrifices of animals.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Maywood..
MARANATHA!
