For months now we have been following US naval developments and deployments in the Arabian Sea, which serve one purpose and one purpose only - to demonstrate US military strength in the Straits of Hormuz regionYet never has the US had a total of three aircraft carrier groups in the vicinity...That is about to change, and with it the prevailing price of Brent, which we are confident is about to take a new step wise price higher as the US makes it all too clear what the endgame is, because as Naval Today reports, the "US navy to deploy third carrier group to Persian Gulf", probably the CVN-77 George H.W. Bush which departed Norfolk two weeks ago according to the most recent naval update, or any other Norfolk-stationed aircraft carrier: there is a wide selection to chose from. From Naval Today:
US Navy to Deploy Third Carrier Group to Persian Gulf
USS Abraham Lincoln had already entered the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz on Jan 22. She is escorted by a guided missile cruiser and two destroyers (USN), one British and one French warships.
Meanwhile, another US Navy’s carrier strike carrier group headed by USS Carl Vinson is stationed eastward the Strait of Hormuz, in northern part of the Arabian Sea washing southwest coast of Iran.
Turkey may reportedly replace Hamas' chief financier, Iran, to alleviate the Gaza ruling party's financial pain as it has faced difficulty in receiving aid from the Islamic republic.Israeli daily Haaretz quoted Turkish sources on Saturday that stated Gazan Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh conveyed his party's financial difficulties to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his first visit to Turkey and that Turkey is seriously considering funding Hamas, a party Israel and the US list as a terrorist organization.
Almost everything you read about the “increasing tension” between Iran and the United States revolves around the rhetorical question, “will there be a war?” Whether it’s our own pundits or the Europeans who watch us, “war” seems closer every day. Look at the Guardian’s Simon Tisdall, for example:Serious thinking, and a serious strategy, must begin with the fact that the war is on. To repeat: the war is on. It’s been on for three decades. Ayatollah Khomeini declared war on the United States in February, 1979, and the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran have been killing Americans ever since.
What is happening is extraordinary and unprecedented. The Catholic Church is in open revolt against the Obama Administration, with Fr. Swink noting from the pulpit that priests across the archdiocese were joining the call on Sunday to rally Catholics to resistance against the U.S. Government. He said we are entering a time of religious persecution and that Catholics and others will have to make a final decision about which side they are on.The issue is what the Catholic Bishops have called a “literally unconscionable” edict by the Obama Administration demanding that sterilization, abortifacients and contraception be included in virtually all health plans.
My Catholic priest, Father Larry Swink, delivered a homily on Sunday that I told him would make headlines. In the toughest sermon I have ever heard from a pulpit, he attacked the Obama Administration as evil, even demonic, and warned of religious persecution ahead. What was also newsworthy about the sermon was that he cited The Washington Post in agreement—not on the subject of the Obama Administration being evil, but on the matter of its abridgment of the constitutional right to freedom of religion. The administration claims there is a religious exemption in the mandate, but the bishops say it is so narrow that it fails to cover the vast majority of faith-based organizations, including Catholic hospitals, universities and service organizations that help millions every year. “Ironically,” they say, “not even Jesus & his disciples would have qualified.”The bishops go on, “Now that the Administration has refused to recognize the Constitutional conscience rights of organizations and individuals who oppose the mandate, the bishops are now urging Catholics and others of good will to fight this unprecedented attack on conscience rights and religious liberty.”Interestingly, The Washington Post, as Father Swink indicated, agrees with the bishops. The paper said, “In this circumstance, requiring a religiously affiliated employer to spend its own money in a way that violates its religious principles does not make an adequate accommodation for those deeply held views. Having recognized the principle of a religious exemption, the administration should have expanded it.”So why would the administration pick a major fight with the Catholic Church? There are two main reasons. (1) The administration wants to please its progressive and feminist, secular pro-abortion base. (2) The administration believes Catholics are divided on the issue and will ignore their leaders and follow Obama.Father Larry Swink of Jesus The Divine Word Catholic Church in Huntingtown, Maryland, is not alone in his tough language.“This whole process of mandating these guidelines undermines the democratic process itself. In this instance, the mandate declares pregnancy a disease, forces a culture of contraception and abortion on society, all while completely bypassing the legislative process.”Some may see this battle as just another church-state dust-up that will be resolved through litigation. But when apocalyptic imagery is used, such as what I heard at my church on Sunday, one must wonder if there is an awakening on the part of the Catholic community and if there is something else going on here besides politics as usual. In short, is the Catholic Church beginning to finally recognize the real nature of the Obama Administration?
As ABC News reports, Bishop Alexander K Sample of Marquette, Michigan accused the administration of 'denying to Catholics our nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty'.
Sister Mary Ann Walsh, spokesman for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, told USA Today: 'This is the government interfering in the workings of the church.'
Japanese researchers say the March 11th disaster has increased the risk of a major quake and tsunami east of the Japan Trench off northeastern Japan.
The research was carried out by a group at the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology.
The Japan Trench is where the Pacific Plate begins to sink under the tectonic plate extending from land.
The March 11th earthquake originated closer to land from the plate boundary. The data showed that the March quake apparently changed the dynamic force deep inside the Pacific Plate.
Before the disaster, many of the deeper quakes involved faults that form when the plate is being compressed.
But the research data showed that many of the post-March aftershocks involved a fault that forms when the plate is pulled apart.
This type of force is known to have caused a magnitude-8 earthquake about 80 years ago off northeastern Japan.
The research group concluded that the risk of the latter type of quake has risen in the region and warns that a tremor could again unleash a massive tsunami.
The highly unusual swarm of earthquakes SW of Santorini on the main fault zone that also defines the volcanic vents of the region continues with about 10 quakes larger than magnitude 2 during the past 24 hours. 2 of the quakes were magnitude 4 and 4.7, respectively.
Greek media start to pick up the story and become increasingly interested:
Today the wall of silence seems to be falling as a major Sunday newspaper has exclusive interviews with a number of Greek seismologists and geologists on the matter and some information is now public.Michelle Parks, a geologist from Oxford, mentioned that the evidence points to something important, there is volcanic activity and the volcano is now potentially active at depth.
Consensus is that the volcano has woken up in early 2011, but opinions differ mainly on the lines of nationality of the scientists.

Scott your articles continue to show us the build up to biblical ME war (Ezekiel 38-39 and Isaiah 17 aka Psalm 83) and a global economic meltdown (Revelation 6) are on the Horizon. These are tribulation events or nearly triblulation events and if we can see the trib on the horizon then we can know the rapture is even closer.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing holding things up IMO is simply the mercy of the Lord as He waits for more to come to salvation thru his shed blood. Maybe our prayers need to ramp up for the lost to come to faith sooner rather than later while God patiently waits.
Things seem to be in a holding pattern but for how much longer? My guess is we will not get a big pre-rapture warning event but the stage is already set and is waiting for the big tipping point to usher in the tribulation and that tipping point IMO is the rapture of the church.
I suppose we could see the start of these biblical wars or see the collapse of the world economies but frankly if any reader is waiting to see before they make a decision for Christ you may not get that opportunity. Today is the day of salvation. You will not regret giving your life to the one who can save it for an eternity in heaven.
There is a mass convergence of all the signs Jesus talked about and there has never been another time in all of human history this has occured. Time is short at best.
Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead you will be saved." Let Jesus pay for your sin debt that you can not pay for your self. That is the good news message of the Bible in a nut shell.

ReplyDeleteMatthew 5:21-26
In accord with the above verses and after much reflection, I agree that my former comments were, in your words, ‘unnecessarily harsh’. While I don’t think I ‘felt’ angry, I wouldn’t want to quibble that point with The Lord as ‘feelings’ lie, but God knows all the true intent of the heart. While it had been my intention to ‘startle’, to get across my concern from the point of view of Scriptural instruction, I definitely went too far, and my concern became faithless anxiety, fed by fleshly zeal.
This has been difficult to write simply because I am unable (as yet) to honestly recant anything I said in my endeavours to resolve a problem (as I saw it) in accordance with Scripture. If at any point I have been mistaken in any of my observations or my understanding of The Word, I have already requested that The Lord show me plainly that fault. What I can readily acknowledge, and regret, is for the WAY I went about it; so for that at least, I willingly extend my sincerest apologies to you and your blog.

There is a battle going on here,
and ONE SIDE will win.
If I had to bet, I would say that
bulls will LOSE but I am not sure.
It is a bet I would NOT take at

WV, Romans 10:9...well, guess we all have our soft spot as to favorite verses and what we think is the "heavy artillery" of the Gospel.
ReplyDeleteThat's mine.
I so agree with your post and second the call for anyone reading these words of prophecy coming true before your eyes to come to Jesus in true faith. You see prophetic words thousands of years old being fulfilled to the letter....just as we were told they would.
Its time not to just read the words of Romans 10:9, but to meditate on them and then do exactly what they say.
Your "real" family awaits you.
WV - I tend to agree with all of that except for one thing...I don't think we're in a holding pattern at all. What is now happening (IMO) is the military build-up to war. And not just arms build up (with the ships and troops headed to the region, both US and UK - not to mention Iran and Russia) - and the rhetoric is all pointed towards war.
ReplyDeleteThe various military exercises we have seen in recent months bolsters that view.
Also - Syria cannot stay on this course much longer. Every day we have more and more deaths in Syria, and that situation has to come to a head sooner or later
And now we are seeing even more missiles coming into Gaza and Lebanon - and on top of that, a new influx of missiles is coming from Libya.
Its a quiet build-up to war but it is real and happening every day.
And meanwhile, everyday Iran gets closer to nukes.
I think what happens, WV, is we just constantly establish new baselines. Our "baseline" right now, in terms of expected activity is really high.
Just my 2 cents :)
Sue,
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to apologize, but what you said was really nice and greatly appreciated.
I hope things are going well across the pond!

WV and Caver, WOW! I just have to chime in here. I have this same Bible verse up on my little board at my work station. When I leave for the day, the night shift gets to see it, and anyone else that is passing through. I also have the "Marriage Supper of the Lamb" hanging there.
ReplyDeleteNice post WV.Amen!
Stephen, I don't put it in the same context as you but you're right....that is a very interesting article...
ReplyDeleteA few interesting quotes from the article
"...Syrian President Bashar Assad is reported by Persian Gulf sources Tuesday, Jan. 31 to have threatened to start up armed hostilities in the region if the UN Security Council Tuesday night endorses the Arab League proposal..."
"...heads of the Syrian armed forces and intelligence have been given their orders and some units are on the ready..."
"...Hizballah has also shown signs of military preparations in the last few hours..."
Thanks Caver, Mary and Scott. Yes Scott I agree there is lots of activity but I think it is mainly for the avid prophecy watcher and even for us it has occurred so fast and furious it only has the apperance of a holding pattern. Good observation.
ReplyDeleteDear WV:
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right in your assessment of what's happening now in the world. Many people throughout the years have thought that their current events were related to prophecy and the Lord's return was imminent. But, geez, this has to be it...doesn't it? I mean, c'mon, with all the stuff happening in Europe, the M.E., this must be it...right? Gary
I think the reason some of us feel like there has been a "lull" or "its been quiet" in the prophecy world is because 2011 was a non-stop bombardment of prophecy . There were weeks where i couldn't even keep up with everything that was happening . It was like "shock and awe" when you turned on the television . Remember birth pangs contract then become stronger during the next wave . I think we're in between contractions . Israel is going to strike Iran no matter what . I think thats what comes next .They don't have a choice (If Iran doesn't strike first) . Also , Hillary was pressing the issue on Syria today . So keep an eye out for Isiah 17.1
ReplyDeleteI can't believe there are still people who think everything that has gone on in the world is just normal . I'm really glad the Lord blessed me with the ability to see this . The funny thing is if even 3 years ago you would have told me that i'd be on a prophecy website chatting about this i would have laughed in your face and told you to pass the poisoned kool aid . Funny how God can change a person . God Bless ya'll and thanks for being a "WATCHMAN" with me . Hope we all get to meet one day soon in the sky and play chicken with airplanes :)

If you LOOK closely you can see
on this 60 MIN chart what is
LIKELY to happen IF the dow cracks

It is true though what 56 says
above, I have to agree with him,
if people are WAITING to SEE
if the end time pre trib battles
come AND then decide to accept
Jesus, that is a FOOLISH move...
since one NEVER can be sure about
this rapture timing. What concerns
me is THAT Paul said during a time
of "peace and safety" like now,
when there really IS NO WAR yet...
why would he say that ??
I cannot deny his words, and I will
not.....ie...1 THESS 5...
that makes it dangerous...
if he HAD NOT said that fine,
BUT HE DID, and it is written...
so this world will be held accountable by that.
what concerns me is that we
gotta ALOT OF BULLS up here

RAPTURE were to happen, it would
be a set up for a crash....

Gary:
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you. So many people have gone on record in the past assuming the rapture was near.
I believe that their interpretation was not based on a broad consensus of things happening propheticly but more over based on emotion.
I feel that we are closer than ever before because of the multitude of signs. For example one of the big things for me is the oil and gas discoveries in Israel and their territorial waters. For Gog and Magog to happen that preverbial hook has to be placed in the mouths of Israels/God's enemies. How long has Israel been searching for oil and gas only to hit it big in 2011.
These finds are so significant that they will actually make Israel an exporter in oil and gas. Now it wouldn't be significant if it just covered their oil needs only. There has to be a big enough reason for Russia to risk an attack and now for the first time there is. God is so awesome! Sometimes He's supernaturally suddle and sometimes He's supernaturally dramatic. Either way He is absolute in everything.
If I had to acknowledge another significant thing I would say that I honestly feel that up until 2010prophecy knowledge was limited and now it literally, figuratively, physically and mentally has been unsealed. You can see it in the amount of websites, blogs, study groups, biblical scholars who have gone public in the last year. The general awareness and feeling that something supernaturally is happening is so thick in the atmosphere that you can cut it with a knife.
Remember Christ said we wouldn't know the exact time but that we would know the season. Thankfully that season is here and we have to be patient and remember that God is long suffering and wants all of us to be with Him. When I think about that I feel how much we are loved and I know just as God experienced anger when Christ was on the cross, that when its time He will be angry just losing one of us.
James N Nashville
Hi Brother James, :)
ReplyDeleteForgive me Brother, but I have to very respectfully disagree with you. :) Gods Word says nothing about "oil" being the reason for Russia's invasion into Israel.
Within the context of Ezekiel 38, Gods Word says nothing of His People becoming wealthy "oil barons" or "land conquerors" in these Last Days. God knows exactly what “oil” is, and He does not say it. Besides God not saying it in His Word, for such a thing to occur, would be completely against
His entire Purpose for orchestrating the Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 wars. Isaiah 17 is God bringing Israel to their knees, which sets the stage for the Ezekiel invasion. Israel is absolutely completely vulnerable to an invasion, and that is exactly where God wants them to be. It will be Him, and only Him that will save Israel from the invading forces of Gog. With all of the massive death and destruction from the Isaiah 17 war, Israel will have only barely survived. There will be "desolation" as God says. They will be hated and reviled by all nations.
That is the opposite of some false teachings out there that lead folks astray...
The condition of Israel when Ezekiel 38 begins:
We know that Isaiah 17 will be fulfilled prior to Ezekiel 38, and upon its conclusion will set the stage for the Ezekiel 38 invasion.
God tells us in His Word, what occurs during Isaiah 17:
Israel fights a multiple fronted war, completely alone.
Israel will be left severely wounded, with no means of re-supplying their weapons.
Israel will suffer greatly, barely survive, and God tells us why He has allowed this to happen to them.
What starts all this? an "evil thought". Oil, plunder etc.an evil thought? Revenge, anger, hatred is an "evil thought", it describes retaliatory action. The Scripture states its for more than "plunder", it is to destroy the Israeli people.
Ezekiel 38:12
12. to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land.
"Stretch out your hand" , "Against the people"...
(Continued)
ReplyDeleteThose items are listed by other nations looking on from the outside of this event. They are questioning as to why Russia is even attacking, and build on that question by guessing as to the reason- implying they don’t understand why. All of the statements listed, are followed by question marks. If it was oil for example, then the other nations wouldn’t be questioning why Russia went in? Oil in Israel, would be obvious to all, and they would say, "well of course, they're going in for the oil", just as the speculation was towards us going into Iraq. It is not obvious to the other nations, and they suggest physical items. As in verse 12, they start off by stating "a spoil", then in verse 13, then list all of the things that can be plundered concluding (speculating) that with their list, they would all in total be a "great spoil".
Ezekiel 38:12-13
12.To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
13.Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
What are listed is common looting that occurs with the soldiers. Which is why, in Ezekiel 39:10 ,the Israeli people take back what was plundered from them from the Russian and other dead soldiers. The Israelis physically take back what was taken, which would be difficult to do, if it were oil for example.
Ezekiel 39:10
10.So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
If Russia is going to march across the land, that great distance, there are plenty of other oil rich nations, more strategically close to Russia, that they could take. Why not Saudi Arabia, or others? Israel would not be a deterrent from Russia invading other nations, so Russia wouldn’t have to attack Israel to get to the oil rich nations. Why small little Israel? Gods Word makes it very clear, that Russia and its tagalongs have a clear, unhindered path to Israel. God does not say the names of any of the Arab nations surrounding Israel (which He knows the names quite well), because they are no longer viable after Isaiah 17.In addition, God has Ezekiel dedicated 8 Chapters (Ezekiel 25-32) to the judgment and destruction of these surrounding nations. All of their “oil” will be there for the taking, yet Russia just passes them by, as “oil” is not their motivation.
God Bless You Brother!
Very interesting...I have always pondered the issues brought up in this discussion.
ReplyDeleteTo add a couple of things (with the caveat - this is academic, because in a way, it doesn't matter why they attack, as compared with the fact that God directly intervenes and ends it and Israel begins their turning back to God...) but:
First of all - what you are saying makes a lot of sense.
Before I forget, I want to mention this unrelated thought....I wonder if by Gog attacking an "unsuspecting" people - that is a reference that the people don't "suspect" an invasion by GOG - in particular?
(this thought just occurred to me for the first time, so bear with me) --- I have always assumed that it meant that Israel was unsuspecting of ANY invasion, but I wonder if the surprise is the fact that Gog (Russia) is the main leader of this invasion?
Anyway back to topic...
I can see this invasion for a variety of primary reasons. It seems to me that the "looting" and "Plunder" is secondary to the invasion itself.
The first "thoughts" that we see that are in this evil scheme - are that of an invasion - almost as an "opportunist", Gog seizes the moment because Israel is unsuspecting. That seems to be the primary focus, and then we get to the looting etc...
ReplyDeleteThe part about "carrying off" items such as gold and silver etc... is the question being asked by Sheba and Dedan. To me, that looks hypothetical - as if they don't know why Gog is doing this and they are speculating on reasons (I believe the reason is simply to attack and invade)...
This question also (maybe the primary question) shows that no one is coming to support Israel - all we see is questions being raised as to why the attack is taking place.
As far as the oil being "plundered" vs something else, I don't know either way. I believe that if Gog were to completely seize and control Israel he's be happy to have the oil, (IOW, I doubt his plan would be to ignore oil as part of the seizure of Israel) - even if it wasn't the primary basis for attack..
I guess I'm saying that - to me - the plundering and looting is a secondary reason for the attack, with the primary reason being simply to "invade" - to occupy.
On another note...
If you look at a map - when Russia went into Georgia, they made a lot of progress geographically towards the Lebanon "pathway" to Israel. There is only a very small piece of land that Russia needs, in order to have their pathway complete, and I imagine they could seize control of that immediately before an invasion. This is the result of their action there a few years ago. Just an interesting footnote IMO
ReplyDeleteHi Brother Scott,
ReplyDeleteIsrael will not be "unsuspecting", they will know and see in horror the coming invasion and be completely helpless to do anything. That is exactly where God wants them, absolutely helpless, for only He will have the Glory for destroying Gog and his tagalongs.
Ezekiel 38:11
11.And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
God describes His People as being "at rest" followed by the enhancement of "dwell safely". Why "at rest"? At "rest" from what? They will be recovering from the horrendous Isaiah 17 war, which leaves them helpless, severely wounded, and vulnerable to the Ezekiel 38 invasion just as God wants them to be. They will have God, and God only to save them.
Forgive me, but the Russian lead coalition does not just suddenly appear in the mountains of Israel. They have to travel to get there. In Isaiah 17 God describes the nations coming in to finish Israel off, at the end, as “rushing water”. This tells us that these are near by nations that “rush in” as rushing water is extremely fast moving. In Ezekiel 38, He tells us that Gog and his forces gather like storm clouds. A coalition gathering and marching together takes time. When we see clouds gathering, we can see it in the distance coming towards us. Israel will see these Gog forces coming, like the clouds of a storm. Fascinatingly, He tells us that these forces will be on horses. Any large contingent of military moving across arid land, creates their own “clouds”, you can see them coming for miles! The mountains of Israel is where God “brings them” in order to destroy them. “will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel”:
God tells us they enter from the North. This is a common entry to Israel, that has been used by enemies of Israel for centuries. This entry to Israel, leads them straight down the center of the mountain ranges, the spine of Israel. They are traveling through the the land, as God tells us He brings them up to the mountains. There is no great Israeli army to stop them, because they were devastated in the Isaiah 17 war. They have nothing, which is exactly where God wants them. As mentioned, He also tells us that they are on horses, which is obviously slow moving. It is classic behavior of a marching enemy, to rape, rob, plunder as the go through areas. Russia's did the same to as they, in recent years, invaded Georgia. God tells us that He instructs His people to take back what was taken from them.
God Bless!
Hmmm. My NIV says "I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people"...
ReplyDeleteI agree - they will be recovering from Isa 17. Especially northern Israel IMO.
Its funny - you probably hadn't read my post on Russia coming in through Georgia - and you are seeing that same thing :)
I pretty much agree. As a footnote, in the Civil War, General Lee (on a couple of occasions..) - when he was faced with being grossly overmatched by soldiers numbers in the North, would have horses travel back and forth on dirt roads to make it look like he was having a huge influx of troops! And it worked, by delaying the invasion until more troops could actually arrive.
Russia is allied with Syria, Iran etc. Russia has BILLIONS invested in Syria - Iran. They have their military stationed in Syria. Their response when Damascus is attack will be pure rage. They will hesitate, as there will be danger to go into such an area. Remember, the surrounding nations have been thrashed to say the least, and I believe the chapters Ezekiel 25-32 will also have taken place when God steps in and “rebukes” those nations at the end of the Isaiah 17 war. The topography of the land, will not be the same. Lebanon for example, will be under water!
ReplyDeleteAt the end of Isaiah 17, God Rebukes these evil surrounding nations that rush in to finish off Israel, and He tells us that remnants of them they "flee a far off". Where to they go? Like wounded crying cubs, they run to mama bear Russia. Gods Word tells us that Gog is to have "guard" over them.
Ezekiel 38:7
7.Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
Russia will hesitate, but then their hatred, their rage at Israel, fed by the remnants of the destroyed nations demanding revenge, will over power their common sense and the temptation to invade a severely wounded Israel will over power them…they will go to their own destruction…it is amazing to see their actions now…even in current news…they are digging in to protect Syria…
Nope, I hadnt seen your Russia coming through Georgia post...its wonderful to Witness the Holy Spirit at work!
ReplyDeleteFascinating about Gen Lee!
Mrs C:
ReplyDeleteObviously I disagree. I think the oil and gas finds are significant and it adds to the reasons for why not that it's the only reason. The preverbial hook is many things.
Hi Brother James, :)
ReplyDeleteThats whats so wonderful about studying His Word together, we can respectfully agree to disagree, and still remain Brothers and Sisters in Christ!:)
God Bless You Brother! :)
I've always believed the "hook in jaw" has to do with God dragging Gog/ Magog down by purely asserting his will on these nations. The reason could be why God uses the term "hook" is because of the stubbornness of the demonic prince in charge of these area's. These demons must be dragged because they know what God is up to and because no demon will ever willingly serve God.These demons are forced by God to stir up the human commanders and leaders and "waller" you have a war.
ReplyDeleteRemember Satan being the "god" of this world! Who's to say he hasn't delegated powerful demons as "regional demonic governors" over all area's of the planet!
Just my thoughts.
Dave
G'Day Brother Dave,:)
ReplyDeleteInteresting Brother, your post triggered a memory of something similar I had read years ago!
I just found it, and it was from 2006, Jack Kelley, but he had quoted it from some other site.:)
Here it is, and this description always resonated with me.
“The “hooks in your jaw” symbolism comes from a special bridle used on a rebellious horse to make it submissive to the rider’s will. Sharp hook-like protrusions on the bit (mouthpiece) irritate the inside of the horse’s cheek, making it painful to resist turning when the reins are pulled and forcing to horse to go where the rider wants. It’s a graphic illustration of how the Lord will drag Russia into this confrontation. “
When first reading Ezekiel Chapters 25-32 a couple of years ago, we read of His coming Judgments against nations surrounding Israel. I came across the same terminology that God used. Another description of the "hooks in your jaw", God gives us in Ezekiel 29, when He begins to unleash His Judgments against some of the nations surrounding Israel, and one of those nations is Egypt. He describes it like catching and landing a fish
Ezekiel 29:4-5
4.But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.
5.And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.

Somebody here is going to know this way, way better than do I but....
ReplyDeleteI believe it was the custom of the Babylon army to use the "hook in the jaw" method of taking prisoners from their homeland to Babylon to serve as slaves. They would physically put a hook through the jaw of their Israeli prisoners and the hook would connect each prisoner by a rope so that it was way too painful and virtually impossible to make a break for it and escape.
I believe this is how King Nebuchadnezzar returned the Jews from Jerusalem to Babylon.
After a number of years of pondering the question, this began to gain more significance with me......the Lord seems to use the same type things in repeating patterns.
I used to believe it would be the gas/oil also....but the longer I went and the more I read/heard, the more I started to be convinced it went deeper than that. Since we know that the invading forces will be, at least in part, on foot and horses and birds will eat the horses (they can't eat tanks), the more I became convinced that this part would be closer to the ancient meaning too.
Combine this with the long practiced method of using kind of a hook and barb horse bit to make it too painful for the horse/mule not to go in the direction desired....well, I no longer think its going to be physical wealth like oil or gas.
Right now....I'm thinking more like hate, rage, humiliation, revenge.
Course, knowing the Lord a wee bit, He may well have something in mind that's gonna blow everyone of us away....totally unexpected....and so obvious in hindsight.
He's good at that!
G'day Mrs C and everyone, greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I love those verses you put up. I must get the whole story on them. Never seen them before.
ReplyDeleteMy way of thinking about the hook is it probably isn't symbolic of driven greed because God says "He" puts the hook in Gog's jaw and does the dragging. The thought of God tempting the Gog/Magog alliance into greed for this oil/gas and then forcing/dragging them into a state of committing the sin of attacking and robbing Israel for it is unbiblical and unGod...IMO anyway. James 1:12-15.
The other thing is that if the hook was oil and gas, God wouldn't need to use a hook. Just rely on good ole human greed and ingenuity and sooner or later nations will be battling for ownership.
Just my thoughts again. Dave
Hi Brother Dave, :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting and excellent points!
Thank you for your insight :)
Yes indeed Brother, Gods Word says there is great Judgment coming to those nations surrounding Israel, and I believe His Judgments on them will coincide with the Isaiah 17 war.
God had Ezekiel dedicate 8 Chapters to the destruction, Judgment of these nations. Ezekiel 25-32. Whew...8 Chapters...
Jordon,Gaza,Lebanon,Egypt...
God Bless!
Mrs C:
ReplyDeleteYou know I love you but I feel sometimes when you post you are condescending in tone. I belive you over reached when it came to my comments about the oil and gas finds being significant. Your post also brought Dave in who said in a round about way that the oil and gas finds are unbiblical and ungod.
We have to be careful with each other as brothers and sisters are often the ones that offend much. While I regard you as one of the most knowledgeable here on the blog sometimes your comments seem to come accross as you are superior to the rest of us. Your knowledge is wonderful but sometimes you need to take a step back before commenting and think about the tone with which you comment.
Dave:
This is not the first time you disagreed with me here and were wrong. Your comment saying unbiblical and ungod came accross as accusing me of adding to and taking away from God's word. My relationship with Christ is the greatest joy of my life and for someone to say that whether directly of indirectly, as you did, was out of line.
The preverbial hook is many things and oil and gas play right in to it. Just the fact that it has happend at the same time as all the other prophetic revelations have in the last two years is in and by itself significant.
Let's remember who we are in Christ and what we are here together to do in this Scott's ministry for the Lord. Let's end the condescending tones and the ungodly and unbiblical statements that divide so many of us.
I pray that this message is received in the light and the love that it was intended to be heard.

Dear Brother James, :)
ReplyDeleteYou know I love you too Brother, and forgive me, but by no means are any of my comments to be condescending in nature at all. Forgive me Brother, in regards to your “oil” comments, as I had respectfully disagreed. I have for years, respectfully disagree, and as many Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we just agree to disagree. The discussion was and is open to everyone here, and Brother Dave just decided to comment just as anyone else is welcome to. :) There are a lot of false teachings out there, regarding this “oil” that lead Brothers and Sisters down a trail to present a false Witness to those that are lost. We are at a crucial moment in all of time, and the enemy knows it.
Please forgive me Brother, but there are times when I post, that Im in pain (no meds btw lol), exhausted, and I have been under an enormous amount of stress for a very long time with no indication of it ending any time soon. Please forgive me, but this causes me to be blunt sometimes, rushed, and I try to overcome, and be kind at the same time. I really detest this form of communication, because none of us can see each other, hear the inflections in our voices, which makes a huge difference. It is very easy for communications to be taken the wrong way.
Brother I truly have never claimed nor would I EVER think to be “superior” than anyone, NONE of us are, EXPECIALLY before the Lord! I am nothing but His Servant, that’s it. When I continually say “All credit is to His Holy Spirit” I TRULY mean that! We all share and study His Word together, as it should be. Sometimes I envision how wonderful it would be if we were all in the same room, face to face, sharing His Word with great joy! Brother James, the time is becoming so very close! I respect you greatly Brother, and I welcome and urge you to share and speak with me privately, as His Word instructs us to do. There are easily misunderstandings that cannot be shared and explained in such a public forum, as the Lord would not have us do.
God Bless You Dear Brother!

Mrs C.:
ReplyDeleteThank you for your reply and there is nothing to forgive. Just speaking my peace. In no way, when i speak about the oil finds do i intend to lead others in the wrong direction. The finds are noteworthy and appropriate to discuss. I can understand your concern but I don't think you should be concerned with the way I spoke about the finds or my feelings regarding them. I just thought that more emphasis was given to my thoughts as being unbiblical. That offended me. They were my thoughts and i clearly identified them as my thoughts not God's. I made them in the context of what I thought was significant.
There has been much debate about what the land in and around Jerusalem may posess as far as commotities. Some research analyst believe that the dead sea has a rich mineral base beneath it that may hold a variety of things.
I think when you step back and take a look at all the finds and this includes oil, natural gas and the much commented about deposits possibly located beneath the dead sea that it makes the apple of God's eye more attractive to people/countries who want to annhilate Israel.
Please don't give this another thought. Take care of yourself and know that i have nothing but love and respect for you.
God bless!
