What did the EU agree at its 'make-or-break' summit?
Amid the fog of terminology, draft and final conclusions and annexes, not to mention allegations and denials by EU polticians over the past 24 hours, EUobserver tries to make sense of what the summit actually agreed.
There are a lot of details in this article regarding this epic summit - below are just a few:
Also known as the "fiscal compact" and containing "debt brakes" and "golden rules", the intergovernmental treaty is to be agreed by March 2012 "at the latest."
It will cover all 17 euro-using countries plus Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. Bulgaria, the Czech republic, Denmark, Hungary, Romania and Sweden are to check with national parliaments if they should join. The UK - sensationally - is staying out.
The European Commission will carry a big stick: it will look at national budgets before national MPs and make demands. It will also be able to parachute in teams of budget inspectors to national capitals and push countries to apply for bail-outs even if they do not want to.
Countries which breach a three percent deficit limit will face sanctions at EU level
Countries must introduce a 'debt brake' into their constitutions or at an "equivalent" legal level, requiring balanced budgets, which are defined as not exceeding deficits of 0.5 percent of GDP.
For the meaning and significance of this summit we turn to this article:
Britain and the European Union - continuity or rupture
As with all previous EU treaty revisions and negotiations, the devil is in the details - furthermore, it remains unclear how an intergovernmental treaty will work in practice alongside existing EU frameworks.
If the fiscal compact is agreed by early next year, then the summit may be seen as an important step forward in the integration process, perhaps even an historic leap towards ‘an ever closer union’
At first glance, the outcome indicates more power, not less, for the Council of Ministers, at the expense of the Commission
In other words, more centralized power. More below:
So at last weeks summit, staring down the possibility of a continent-wide sovereign debt crisis, the majority of EU leaders agreed to greater convergence in their economic and fiscal policies, all of which implies a significant loss of national sovereignty.
Which is exactly what many prophecy watchers predicted.
Also see:
UK left out as 26 EU countries to draft new treaty
The 26 have agreed to greater budgetary surveillance by Brussels, stronger fiscal discipline as well as to automatic sanctions for misbehaving states.
Mr Cameron gets it right:
For his part, Cameron justified the situation on Friday morning by saying that the 26 "are having to make radical changes including giving up sovereignty."
Indeed. Everything is right on schedule.
Can't quite make up my mind on Cameron. He APPEARS to be a patriot with a handle on the forces behind all this. If that's true, I find it hard to believe those forces will allow him to remain in power long. But if this is all part of the ruse, the man deserves an Oscar at next year's Academy Awards.
ReplyDeleteRobin - I agree. I also have to ponder if somehow the UK could be one of the "three" horns of Daniel 7. BUT - (and this is a huge "but") - that would necessitate that the UK is destined to be one of the 10 Kings, and I am still leaning on the 10 world regions scenario....We'll see. This thing is moving rapidly.
ReplyDeleteWell, to specify - we won't see the 3 horns uprooted IMO - as the AC will already in power and that time we'll be gone. "The nations" will see however :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for that reminder, Scott. I have to keep reminding myself of that lately. There's just so much going on, and at times, feels so burdensome. It's heart breaking to watch the country we love so much, fall apart before our very eyes. The tantacles of the NWO are so encompassing . . .every day, it seems, we learn they've been manipulating something else.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else wonder if the earthquake in Japan was the result of HAARP? The NWO goal to take over the US, European and Japanese economies. Japan's economy was the only one seemingly unaffected by the EURO and Fed collapse.
Robin-what a can of worms! try googling japan threatened with earthquake or something along those lines. Dr No Fog can probably give you all the links. We have discussed this before.
ReplyDeleteThanks, must have missed that discussion. I admit to not remembering to check the comments when they've been send down the page with new updates. I wish we could get a better system so comments could be archived better.
ReplyDeleteRobin - Don't let it be a burden (as easy as that can become) - as I was telling Caver the other day - always remember that the worse things get here, the closer we get to the grand prize :) and really, thats all that matters.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Scott . . .i sincerely believe you're right.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/failed/banklist.html
This is the list, updated every Monday, with the previous week's bank closures. I check it each week out of habit and noticed, there's not been a posting since bank closures on Nov. 18. This is the longest period of time since the summer of 2008, there's not been bank closings reported.
If this were GOOD news, I find it incredibly odd that NO ONE is reporting it . . .and the White House, suspiciously, isn't even crowing about it.
Which is why I smell a rat.
Yeh, I know, I will be disliked
ReplyDeleteor hated for this....but current
ELLIOTT WAVE indications seem to show BULLING until the end of the year.
There will NOT be and RTP at this time....
WHY ??
Cause Obama does NOT want the Wall
Street Bulls mad at him for crashing the stock market until
end of DEC 2011.....and they
want their year end FAT BONUSES
for keeping the DOW way up until
31 DEC 2011......
think about it !!!!
HE NEEDS THEIR MONEY to get re-elected.
Stephen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Stephen you are neither hated or disliked. It is your faith in the EW instead of God's Word that is of concern.
ReplyDeleteIn fact your terminology about 'bulling' makes me smile. My culture calls trying to fool people with deceptive words 'bulling' or a 'load of old bull'.
Giving a pair of old boots the deception of being new ones by applying a liberal amount of shoe polish and hard polishing is giving them plenty of 'bulling'. Its a cover up!
'Bulling' perfectly describes the EW deception you are applying in place of God's prophetic Word. We must make that clear in case some poor soul is deceived by your vain philosophy.
Maranatha!
Scott and Robin
ReplyDeleteBefore Cameron left for the meeting the Conservatives had made it abundantly clear what was expected of him.
I have no doubt that the forceful opinions of the UKIP leader Nigel Farage, has had a vital part in this decision. UKIP has a lot of supporters from ALL parties, and is much stronger than Liberals care to admit. imo
Good old Nige :)
There are a couple of videos from the weekend news you may find interesting.
ReplyDeleteUKIP and the Lib-dems are now neck and neck in the opinion polls . UKIP's star is rising whilst the Lib-Dems star is spluttering and going out…

Dear Sue, when I say BULLING I am very serious. Since WHEN stocks go up, they ARE indeed getting bulled.
ReplyDeleteThat is WHY I feel NO rtp at this time.
So far, I have been RIGHT.
Stephen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Dear Stephen
ReplyDeleteI do understand that you are being completely serious, and I do not doubt that for one second. Neither do I doubt your mental ability to grasp the complexities of the stock market.
What concerns me/us is that your faith is anchored in the wisdom of man, and of this present fallen age that is under the influence of the evil one.
Stephen, are using the wisdom of this fallen world to try and understand a spiritual matter. God is Spirit, and those who honour Him must do so in spirit and in truth (John4:24)
As one who names Christ, it concerns me that you prefer to be serious about the words of a dead man, accountant Ralph Elliot who entertained the spirit of this world, while disregarding the living Words of our risen Saviour Jesus Christ who knows ALL things from the beginning to the end.
Please read what Paul had to say in his first letter to the Corinthian Church in chapter two, who were bound up in the things of the world such as you are.
"1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you EXCEPT Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written: “ Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But THE NATURAL MAN DOES NOT RECEIVE THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD, FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS TO HIM; NOR CAN HE KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.
15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.."
That’s what we want for you Stephen, to reject the wisdom of this dead man, and instead have the mind of the living Christ.
We love you Stephen, IN Christ, and we want for you what He wants for you. To recognise the foolish idolatry of this dead man and his dead wisdom and to bend the knee before Jesus in repentance as in 1John1:9; to receive his forgiveness and cleansing from ALL this un-righteous wisdom and be restored in the power of His Holy Spirit, His love and His mind.
Sue
Sue - wise words - thanks and I agree.
ReplyDeleteStephen - lets keep the topic on prophecy and not on the market,
I am told to REJECT the wisdom of Ralph Nelson Elliott...I doubt that I will listen to that.
ReplyDeleteRN Elliott recieved a GIFT from
GOD that he used to help other people.
I will not bandi words about this already.
Sorry I have to defend RN Elliott
Scott, but I feel that people
need to see my point of view.
It is NOT RIGHT to be closed minded.
Social Mood goes hand in hand
with timing of prophecy fulfilment
I TRULY believe that, always have !!
The DOW charted is just that,
Social Mood expressed on a
chart.
Ok, I will not bring this up again
Scott, BUT I think some people need
to be more OPEN MINDED to what
others have to say.
ALOHA
Stephen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Stephen said “RN Elliott recieved a GIFT from GOD that he used to help other people…”
ReplyDeletePlease give us your evidence of RE’s testimony of when he trusted in Jesus to save him from sin. The only evidence of RE so far, is that he practised the occult.
What ‘GIFT from GOD’ is that ?
If you mean a gift to make money, Jesus told the Pharisees who tried to deceive him in Matt.22:17-21 “show me the tax money, and He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.
Jesus makes a clear distinction between money which belongs to this world, and the things that are God’s.
Money belongs to the god of this world. It, and the world, is soon to be burned.
It is the god of this world that gave EW his ‘gift’; his gift belongs to the occult.
RE received his gift from his god, the god of this world. As a natural man, RE could not receive the things of the Spirit of God: for they would have been foolishness to him: neither can RE have known the things of the Spirit of God, because they are spiritually discerned. RE had put his faith in a doctrine of demons, and you are his disciple.
Stephen, you have closed your mind to The Holy Spirit.
Have you even bothered to read the words of Paul in 1Cor 2?
