Israel Considers Pre-Emptive Attack On Iran
The debate over possible Israeli military action has reached fever pitch in recent days with newspaper leader columns discussing the benefits and dangers of hitting Iran.
Mr Lieberman responded to the reports of a push to gain cabinet approval by saying that "Iran poses the most dangerous threat to world order."
But prime minister Netanyahu has repeatedly warned that all options are on the table.
Any strike on Iran could trigger retaliation from Iran and across the region.
Syria, a close ally of Tehran, could also launch attacks, along with the Iranian-backed Hizbollah militia in Lebanon.
Report: West Ready to Attack Iran
A report in the British Guardian newspaper Wednesday said that the U.S. and the UK were gearing up for a possible attack on Iran. According to the report, the U.S. has become increasingly frustrated – and concerned – over Iran's refusal to end its enrichment of uranium. Britain has agreed to help, despite some members of the British government being opposed to providing such assistance.
"In anticipation of a potential attack, British military planners are examining where best to deploy Royal Navy ships and submarines equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles over the coming months as part of what would be an air- and sea-launched campaign,” the article says
According to the Guardian, the decision to strike Iran came about as the result of the successful campaign that resulted in the dethroning of Muammar Qaddafi as dictator of Libya.
And this interesting tidbit:
Coinciding with the Guardian report, other reports said that Israel was planning its own incursion against Iran. After reports of a successful long-range military mission in Sardinia surfaced Wednesday, media rumors said that IDF troops had undertaken what was essentially a “dry run” of an attack against Iran.
Are Israel's military drills preparation for an Iran strike?
...one cannot ignore the proximity of these events, together with the continuing operational work on the Iron Dome systems in Gaza and in northern Israel, the acceleration of the Magic Wand and Arrow 3 defense systems – and naturally the public discourse over the last few days concerning the possibility of a strike on Iran. All these elements – with differing degrees of planning - provide the background music in a concert of a military apparatus preparing for a possible large-scale operation.
The speed in which events are unfolding, and the advancement of the IDF and military industries' development and training programs, often result in such a combination – drills simulating long-range attacks and drills simulating missile attacks on population centers. Such coincidences have occurred quite often in the past, and they will happen again in the future.
Yet when such a coincidence occurs alongside a whirlwind of news and an unprecedented public discussion concerning the decision-making process at the top echelon of Israel's political-military pyramid, it is hard to ignore the feeling that there are some elements who are trying these days to highlight every drill and maximize their gains.
Report: U.K. preparing for military strike on Iran nuclear facilities
The U.K. is stepping up its preparations for a military strike on Iran, the Guardian newspaper reported on Wednesday. According to the report, the U.K. is increasingly concerned over Tehran's nuclear program, and is preparing to deploy Royal Navy ships in the coming months to assist a possible U.S. attack on key facilities in Iran.
Responding to reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been trying to gain a majority in the cabinet for an attack on Iran, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of Iran's armed forces, Hassan Firouzabadi, warned both Israel and the U.S. against such a move.
Meanwhile, the Israel Air Force continues conducting comprehensive drills on long-range attacks.
Debka adds this analysis to the discussion and it makes a lot of sense:
A military war of nerves against Iran: The US leads Israel and UK go along
The sudden rush of military news Wednesday, Nov. 2, was part of an orchestrated Western performance to persuade Tehran that the US, Britain and Israel are on the verge of a military operation against its nuclear installations.
The show, directed from Washington, was meant to warn Iran that military punishment was in store unless it gives up its drive for a nuclear weapon.
Contributing to the menacing climate hanging over Iran were four headline events involving Israel – all on the same Wednesday: Israel conducted a successful test launch of a new intercontinental ballistic missile, Jericho 3, which foreign sources report is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead 7,000 kilometers.
After that, the IDF released photographs of Israeli Air Force squadron leaders reporting from Italian air base runways to the media on joint exercises they had conducted in long-range maneuvers with the Italian air force "and other NATO nations," to familiarize the IAF with NATO military tactics.
The inference was clear: The Israeli Air Force was strengthening its cooperation with Western allies in preparation for a NATO assault on Iran. The IAF also got a chance to study the lessons Western alliance air force tacticians had drawn from the eight-month Libyan operation which ended on Oct. 31.
Finally, Defense Minister Ehud Barak left for an unscheduled trip to London shortly after a secret visit to Israel by the British chief of staff General Sir David Richards earlier this week as guest of Israel's top soldier Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz.
If the British general was in Israel only this week, why was Barak is such a hurry to visit London?
The answer came from the British media, which reported as soon as he arrived that the Ministry of Defense in London had accelerated and upgraded its contingency planning for participation in a US-led assault on Iran.
And below, we may be seeing the 'bottom line' on the whole issue involving Iran:
This whirlwind of military activity was said to have been prompted by the approaching publication of the International Atomic Energy Agency's Iran report next Tuesday, Nov. 8 and the conclusion the nuclear watchdog had reached: Inside 12 months, Iran will have tucked all its nuclear and ballistic missile facilities away in deep underground tunnels where they will be invulnerable to attack.
And below we see some related articles from the region - all serving to increase tensions:
Report: IDF Given Green Light in Gaza
Israel test-fires missile as Iran debate rages
Israel Navy tracks new Gaza-bound flotilla
Netanyahu: Israel Has a Right to Build in Jerusalem
Hamas Urges Abbas to 'Return to Resistance'
The situation with Iran may simply be an engagement of brinksmanship at this point. If that is the case, then it is a very dangerous game, as Iran could decide to go ahead and begin things themselves - perhaps even using their proxies (Lebanon, Gaza, Syria. Egypt etc). Or perhaps this isn't brinksmanship - but if tangible plans are really being made to attack Iran, why would they be so publicized?
There may be a period of prolonged warning, similar to the warnings that the U.S. issued to Iraq prior it the first Iraq war.
Either way, there is a lot of volatility now, to say the least. Rumors of war are rampant right now.
"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed."
(Matthew 24:6)
"When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened.
(Luke 21:9)
Apart from the odd anonymous; I appear to be the only 'member' of the Revived Roman Empire here.
ReplyDeleteThe formation of the beast's kingdom is all around me, as is the ecumenical harlot - absolutely everywhere, and has been for YEARS!
In this dubious experience, I am miles ahead than everyone else as it’s still relatively new to those outside Europe and the U.K. In particular, the melding of all faiths into one unit is commonplace - a nightmare y'all are only just waking up to now it’s going global. Ecumenism is burgeoning and will quickly envelope the rest of the world. It will be emerging in a church near you at any time now.
That’s good news really, it means the filth is coming to a head and Jesus is coming for His Bride and shortly afterward He will lance the gangrenous abscess.

ReplyDeleteWell, I would normally say "That makes you the 'odd man' out...", except that you had previously berated me about referring to any of yer "007" identities...
;-D
And I did catch yer fowl message... she seems fine.
Amazing how far yer hens can fly!

Actually, Expected, the ecumenical movement has been underway in the US for quite some time. As a matter of fact, for many years, I was a member of a national organization called NCCJ . . .once the National Council of Christians and Jews . . .but after years of quandary over what to do about the growing Muslim membership, became the National Council . . .and then, the National Council of Community Justice.
ReplyDeleteIt was all about "finding common ground" to meld the world's religions. Suffice to say, that was before I was truly saved. In many communities, it's a very active group and they've made much progress in pulling the nation toward an apostate religion.
I am the anonymous who called ei and Mrc c dangerous women the other day. I am very sorry I did that.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord has been convicting me since I pressed the button.
I am very sorry.
Hello Robin
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed, no question that Ecumenism has been worldwide for a considerable time. I wasn't aware of it here until the early 1970's, yet it had been building really since WW2 - if not before.
However 'she' had many hurdles to 'wear down' before she could make significant changes. We don't have a 'Bible Belt' equivalent here, so it’s been much easier for her to divide and separate the flock. The true Church is a very tiny, almost invisible minority in the UK. The only minor difficulty to the whores advance was our British heritage and traditions’. These are now only shadows of light entertainment of what they once were, and shadows are no problem for the whore to deal with; she prefers to be out of the Sonlight.
I am considered an over the top religious freak, even by my own family. The British lip is very stiff against the Truth of the open Bible. Its worse on the continent for different reasons as Rome has had a stronger foothold there for more than a thousand years. The following example comes from my recent PWMI magazine.
“A Christian evangelist in GREECE has been sentenced to four months in prison and fined 840 € for sharing the Gospel. After a trial, authorities in Crete convicted Damavolitis Emmanuel, a Pentecostal Christian, for violating a law against proselytizing.
The Greek Orthodox Church is the country’s official church (and ecumenical) and is protected by the nation’s laws. In 2006, Emmanuel shared his faith with another man and convinced him to embrace ‘Pentecostalism’. (i.e. he became a Christian). Last week, the Court of Appeals of Rethymno, in Crete upheld Emmanuel’s conviction.
Emmanuel’s attorney said the ruling shows there is no freedom of religion or speech for Christians who do not belong to the state church.
‘This is a very sad day for freedom of religion in GREECE. The court’s decision reinforces the belief that freedom of religion and freedom of speech do not exist in GREECE for evangelical Christians’ said Vassilios Tsirbas, an international human rights attorney.
The case may be heard by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg France.”
In the U.K. the Monarch is head of the Anglican church (C of E) under her the ‘spiritual’ leader is the Archbishop of Canterbury, and that position is appointed by the Prime Minister of the Government. It was leftie Tony Blair (secret RC) who appointed fellow leftie Rowan Williams as the Archbishop. Just as I predicted, when Blair left office, he ‘became’ a R.C.
Baptists, Methodist, S.A., Evangelicals, A.O.G…every denomination you can name is committed to the Harlot church and its effects are pushing genuine Christians ever further underground. This is much worse since Emergent churches widened the road back to Rome.
I don’t wish this on any country; but as yet the US has still to wake up to how the reality hits every area of life. It is my grand-children’s education into Ecumenism via many doors, including sport; that grieves me the most. Meanwhile I am gagged and ostracized from my family for daring to be a Bible believing Christian. My youngest son (forty today) informed me he had to get out of his head all the ‘crap’ I had put there; he prefers the Emergent teachings instead of the Bibles. He told me he would allow me to see his three children if I promised not to speak about God. As I have no intention of denying my Lord; I am banned from their home or any visits from the children. My older son is much the same so altogether I am denied access to five of my grand-children, and ignored by three of my four sons.
I shall stop here as the grief of it all is inexpressible.
Hello Repentant
ReplyDeleteIt is good to hear that you have recognised a mental attitude sin; and I am delighted you have come before the Father and confessed your sin.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
My concern for you is that you fully realise that you have allowed a ‘root of bitterness’ to spring up in your heart, and that can only ever harm you, never the people or things you feel bitter against. As a believer, this always mars fellowship with our Heavenly Father (and other brethren) because if we regard iniquity in our heart, He will not hear our prayers. Psalm 66 :18.
Hebrews12:14-15 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
Romans 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
Vengeance ekdikēsis Strongs1557 Vindication, justice and punishment.
As for me E.I. hold NOTHING against you, and I have already prayed for you.
As you have done according to 1John 1:9, then believe that God has forgiven and cleansed you from that deed; believe it, apply this word to you heart, walk in it and Praise The Lord for HIS Love and that passes all understanding.
Your sister In Christ, and in HIS Love (mines not good enough)
Sue
Expected,
ReplyDeleteYour post concerning your sons is something I can relate to. Both my daughters have asked Jesus into their lives but are not living their lives accordingly. My youngest daughter, age 31, I would say is leaning towards the ecumenical way. She was warned me not to push her to attend church with me, etc. As you can relate, this is heartbreaking to think they will be lost.
No tears in heaven puzzles me. How can we have no tears in heaven if our loved ones are lost? Do we forget them? Your thoughts?
Blessings,
Kathleen
Kathleen, concerning lost loved ones that we grieve for now, I'll try to dig out some Scriptures later but once we are in Heaven and one with Christ, with the mind of Christ fully opened up to us, we will see the hideousness of sin that hides in the heart of all those who will eternally hate God and we will testify against them and conclude with God that He is indeed righteous in putting them away from us forever.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have unbelieving family and also a son who has rejected the Faith. I think it is better to BE with them, even if I cannot talk about the Lord (who knows but that your peaceful presence will be a witness) and who knows what may come up?
ReplyDeleteIf you do not see them at all, no relationship is built or nutured , and you will (sadly) be as a stranger to them . Therefore it would be more difficult to share the Gospel with them in the future.
After all, it is up to God to draw them. I have seen Him draw other loved ones in amazing ways, which I would not have thought possible.
Diane
DrNoFog,
ReplyDeleteThanks. Now, in the flesh, it is hard to comprehend this.
Kathleen
Hello Diane
ReplyDeleteMy son now believes no one can know the truth. All Scripture is only an opinion. Prior to this outburst just over a year ago, he had already cut me out of his life with no explanation for nearly 20 yrs. All came into the open when his dad retired and was around to see for himself what he/they were putting me through. In the summer I saw my grand-daughter and her attitude of their C.O.? / pastor was like Beetle Mania, he was so 'awesome'. So I made sure she knew the Gospel and the stink it caused - oh dear! Mustn’t talk about the cross or the blood because it offends and frightens people.
Anyway;, as awful as it is, I do not intend denying my Lord and keeping silent when His Word is being abused and kicked around like a muddy football. We have been warned what it would be like prior to His return, and here it is and getting worse daily.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in The Morning Psalm30:5 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose Romans 8:28.
God bless you

Hello Kathleen
ReplyDeleteJesus died for all sin. Sin is no longer a problem; it is bought and paid for by Jesus Blood. Those who go to hell will not be there because of any sin; but because they ignore God's Grace and refuse to believe/faith/trust (pistis) in Jesus' substitutionary
sacrifice on the cross. His Righteousness in exchange for our UN-righteousness and declared to be Justified.
SO - if like my sons, and Diane’s, your girls once believed in Christ to save them from sin (even as a little child) then she/they received a new human spirit with ETERNAL Life and were plunged into Christ's Body by the Holy Spirit at the instance of new birth.
Faith is all it takes, NO WORKS are demanded either pre-Justification or afterward. It isn't up to any of us to keep ourselves saved! We are in the double fisted grip of the Father and The Son SEALED in by the Holy Spirit - there is NOTHING that can separate us from the hand (POWER) of our Triune God. We are all KEPT by the power of God 1Peter1:5; Romans 8:31-39.
ALL sin has been bought by Christ's Blood. There is no act of sin that can change that including later denying Him or even living a carnal life. The Judgment Seat of Christ (Bema) will judge between works of the flesh (hay wood and stubble) and those done by faith (gold, silver and precious stones) All these works (not sins) are judged by fire. Only the righteous acts of gold, silver and precious stones will survive the fire. All hay, wood and stubble will be burned and that person will suffer loss of rewards and be as a brand plucked from the burning, yet still IN Christ and saved.
As for those who have lived a lawful, respectable and charitable life, yet have not accepted by faith, the free gift of Salvation, then they remain condemned. John3:36
Like you, I cannot imagine EVER being happy again knowing my loved one’s are in outer darkness weeping and gnashing at their teeth in hell. Perhaps DrNofog can explain that one because I can’t. BUT I can and do trust in The Lords absolute justice and know full well that He has done EVERYTHING to bring ALL sinners into Eternal Life.
Keep the Faith!
God bless you

p.s. For anyone thinking that I haven’t read Hebrews 6 and 10 etc. – I have – thoroughly; and the context and grammar concerns BELIEVERS who like all the saved, will stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ (NOT the Great White Throne for un-saved) and have all WORKS judged (not sin; its paid for) and all WORKS of the flesh are burned in the fire.
And that’s not all …
Hi Expected,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your response. It makes me feel better. On one hand I was concerned about them but on the other, I know it's not by works that we are saved.
While I was reading your response, the Lord brought to my remembrance, John 10:28
"And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand."
I spoke with my daughter earlier, after I had written the post, about her beliefs. She assured me that she did believe Jesus died on the cross. She said she just doesn't show it outwardly like I do. She also said she doesn't believe in prophecy because it wasn't taught at church. Oh well, I will choose my battles. :)
I do believe the same as you concerning the Judgment Seat of Christ where our works will be judged.
Blessings,
Kathleen
Hello Kathleen
ReplyDeleteIncredible!!!
For some odd reason, for a while now, I have had a mental block when it came to finding certain Scriptures. I was trying to find them ready for your post, I kept praying for the answer, but still it wouldn’t come. I was beginning to think The Lord wasn’t hearing me as I was in need of repentance. When I read your response THERE was the very Scripture I needed. John10:28. WONDERFUL!
Adding vs 29, both together show how we are held in Jesus’ hand and no man can pluck us out as well as being in the Fathers hand and no-one can pluck them out of His hand either. This is the double-fisted grip, with us inside.
Then came Eph1:13 and Eph 4:30 as the Holy Spirit SEALS us in much like Noah was sealed into the Ark.
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, HAVING BELIEVED, you were SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE,
Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, BY WHOM YOU WERE SEALED FOR THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.
So bless you Kathleen, for as tired as I am, this has really cheered me to find these verses AND to hear that you too have been blessed.
Praise The Lord.
Maranatha!

Sue,
ReplyDeleteI love when the Lord does that!! :-) and I like verse 29 added to it! It was what I needed to be reminded of.
Bless you!

Hi Sister/Brother Repentant, :)
ReplyDeleteI could not even begin to respond to you in words as eloquently as dear Sister Sue. So I will simply say "ditto" to her reply to you, and count it as a reply from me also. I Pray for you too, and ask the Lord to wrap His Loving arms around you. :)
God Bless You, and keep you!
In His Love, the Truest Love,
Your Sister In Christ :)
Thank you for the comments and Scriptures, sisters. I know that there was a time when my son came to Christ, and that thought brings me comfort .
ReplyDeleteThis has prompted me to start to read "Once in Christ, in Christ Forever" by William MacDonald (a book which I have had for a long time, but not read. Seems like an easy read so far.)
Again, I have been amazed at how the Lord has drawn so many family members to Himself in such different unique ways. I may have watered the soil a little along the way. It is ironic, we pray for this, then are so surprised when it happens and we see a life transformed!

ReplyDeleteExcellent two thumbs up!
Our Salvation isn't about what we do; it's all about who God is.
Hebrews 11 - all by Faith, called 'saints' and they all denied The Lord one way or another; but they were safe and secure in the Rock of all ages - kept by the power of God.
God bless you as you believe in, and apply His Word.
